[Bug 600475] [NEW] Include e2fsck.conf in default ramdisk
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: initramfs-tools On Ubuntu lucid, if you create /etc/e2fsck.conf, it does not get included into the initramdisk when running update-initramfs. But since there are a few systems, especially embedded hardware, that e.g. do not have a RTC, it is important to be able to tell fsck to skip certain checks. But this is only possible if the configuration is available at boot-time. I suggest an addition to initramfs-tools that checks for the existence of the configuration file and includes it. ** Affects: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Include e2fsck.conf in default ramdisk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/600475 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 592032] Re: nvidia module only working after gdm restart
Creating a custom blacklist and updating the initrd solved the problem (I did not yet identify one specific module, so this might be more modules than necessary): blacklist vga16fb blacklist rivafb blacklist nvidiafb So it seems /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-graphics-drivers.conf does not blacklist enough modules. [Bug 592032] [NEW] nvidia module only working after gdm restart

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: fglrx-amdcccle The package installs to links (ATI Catalyst Control Center) under Progams, however the administrative one does not start as /usr/share/applications/amdccclesu.desktop uses the not installed "amdxdg-su" command. [Bug 446942] [NEW] [Karmic] Brightness jumps on Vostro laptop
Public bug reported: I usually lower the brightness of the laptop screen via key-combination, which works fine (although there is no brightness information within gnome, like for sound). I also set the system to automatically dim the display when the system is idle. This all basically works, but every now and then (usually only once some time after a restart) the system jumps to full brightness after being idle for a moment. I then have to manually bring the brightness down again. Especially when working in a dark environment, these sudden birghtness changes are quite nasty. I do not know which package is responsible for this, so I'm assigning it to meta-gnome2. [Bug 412838] Re: Broadcom 4322 extremly slow with wl.ko
'iwconfig eth1 power off' does indeed seem to fix this particular problem. [Bug 412838] Re: Broadcom 4322 extremly slow with wl.ko
I experience the same problem with karmic, even with WPA2-PSK disabled. Is there maybe some sort of power-management that causes this problem? [Bug 413935] [NEW] [karmic] ndiswrapper crashes upon load
Public bug reported: When trying to load ndiswrapper on the current karmic release, the module nevers loads and the kernel gets a stack trace (killed my system during the initial run). [Bug 412840] [NEW] Broadcom 4322 extremly slow with wl.ko
Public bug reported: I'm using a notebook with a Broadcom BCM4322, which is correctly set up with the non-free wl.ko module on jaunty (2.6.28-14.47-generic). However, this driver exhibits a very weird behavior: Although the WLAN-link (WPA2 with AES, but TKIP has the same problem) is stable, loading a website sometimes simply stalls, only a reload works. Downloads are, once started, as fast as my downstream. There is nothing in dmesg or syslog, but it happens with every website. Sometimes they load immediatly, sometimes they simply don't. Via ethernet, there is no problem. Any way to debug this further? ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Broadcom 4322 extremly slow with wl.ko https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412840 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox Firefox in the current jaunty does not connect to a SSL site that works just fine on intrepid with the error "sec_error_bad_der". [Bug 71887] Re: Make /bin/sh configurable with update-alternatives
t3rmin4t0r proposed what should be the default: Make /bin/sh configurable by update-alternatives without manual intervention. So no, the manual method is not good enough, if there's more than one program to do the job, you have to be able to configure it with update-alternatives out of the box.
