[Bug 528720] [NEW] Keyboard stuck with irqbalance
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: irqbalance Shortly after logging in to the system it stops responding to keyboard and mouse (not even SysRq works). The clock is still being updated and I can access the system through SSH. Sometimes I'm able to start a terminal window with the mouse. When I then press one single key that character is repeated indefinitely in the terminal window. At the same time the mouse stops responding. When I disable irqbalance everything works fine. I haven't seen anything odd in the logs (or dmesg) and I don't know how to investigate this further. The system is a P4 with HT so irqbalance might not be useful anyway, but it shouldn't hang the system. [Bug 463003] Re: LC_COLLATE edit in ~/.profile Breaks Update Manager
As I said, Nautilus will automatically fall back to C when the locale can't be found. But when the specified locale is found it will of course use that one. So you are using the C collation rules instead of the en_US.UTF-8 ones, and they are obviously different. Have a look at the attached XsessionErrors.txt. Nautilus (and others) reports "Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library." That file is called ~/.xsession-errors on your local machine. If you set LC_COLLATE=C you should stop seeing those warnings. -- LC_COLLATE edit in ~/.profile Breaks Update Manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/463003 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 463003] Re: LC_COLLATE edit in ~/.profile Breaks Update Manager
The locale en_US.iso88591 doesn't exist on your system which means that Nautilus and others will fall back to the C locale for LC_COLLATE.
