Just wanted to say something briefly. We tried to implement the new pull
rules last weekend at the Great Barr Crawls to the NIA, and I thought
they were generally a success. Well done Benji.
I noticed from the sidelines that there were a few people who hadn't
bothered to learn the rules in the
Afternoon all,
This weekend saw the 5th instalment of the Great Barr Crawl, but it all
got a bit bigger. Bigger venue, more teams, bigger and better party,
much bigger all-star fantasy game (75m x 20m pitch), bigger TD's...
Thanks to all the teams who came along and had a good time, and many
Morning all,
This weekend saw us set a couple of records in Staffordshire. We held
the tournament with the longest and most convoluted name, (47
characters) and also the tournament with the largest gap between pitches
to prevent games interfering with each other. (18.1 miles) It was a

Yes. I am guessing it is a joke/con/spam.
If you get one, I saw the email first, so please forward the IPOD to me

I have plugged this company before, but I am going to do so again, because it

Indeed! Last I heard,
Might I suggest that all the prospective pick-ups all get themselves to
the captains meeting tomorrow to find themselves a matching team? (a la

.B tour results anyone? Seeing as teams were supposed to have
entered for nationals by yesterday, and the top 32 rankings can't even
be worked out yet?
As far as I can gather from speaking to friends, it was along the lines
of:
1. Devon 1
2. BPF 2
3. Lucky Huckers
4. Cardiff
5
6
7
8
9.
So, putting that together with what people have told me:
1 TenaciousDevon1
2 PlasticFactory2
3 LuckyHuckers
4 CardiffUltimate1
5 StrangeBlue
6 Schnell
7 Brighton 2
8 Aye Aye
9 BoogieKnights
10 ABH
11 Discuits 2
12 Lords 1
13
Actually I meant:
34 Motion 69 points
35 GB Juniors 2 66points
36 Sheffield 2 65 points.
And I got a couple of other totals wrong by a point in the B tour
region, but positions were ok.

So then - that was the first ever split A B tour event last weekend;
was it as good as everyone expected? Were all your dreams fulfilled?
Share your thoughts with the rest of us. (The B tour results would be
good too)

I guess that the main argument against that is that there are a lot of
teams in the UKUA database that never actually practice anywhere
throughout the year. If Dom did it this way, then hopefully he would get
responses from all the geo-clubs around the country that do actually
practice, rather
We just need players to give a s*t.
While we are on this particular subject, would it really be that much of
a problem for people to clear up their rubbish by the sides of the
pitches after they have finished a match? You obviously were able to
carry your water bottles over to the game, so it
I was going to bring a VHS copy of it to lend to someone at Tour 3. I
wonder if the bar at UCE has got a VCR that it could be shown on? I seem
to remember some big tv's in the bar area from last year.

Hi,
Those dates were exactly what I was thinking of. The only thing that has
changed them in the past is whether the venues are available on the
Saturdays or the Sundays.
I am also very much in favour of trying to get teams to play in their
local regions, but I had my whinge about that last
Much as I would like to see Ultimate in the Olympics, I think I would
really love to see the worlds (mainly US) broadcasters/commentators
forced to try to understand cricket.

Well, I can offer my services to any tournament director for indoors.
I am about 1.97m tall in my trainers, and therefore the service I can
offer is to stand at the receiving end for every pull. If I make sure
that I am standing in line with the pull when the disc gets to the
endzone. If the disc
I think the B tour this time around was 3 or 4 x 45mins + caps, then 3 x 60mins
+ caps.
Whilst I agree that this imbalance is not ideal, I think it has been discussed
a great deal around Tour 1 that there is only so much pitch time to be shared
around at each event this year. The facts are

Your email was going so well until the middle paragraph.
I will give the mild-mannered response - I think everyone would like to

Seeing as we are all having a go at this, we in Birmingham are also
significantly short of teams to make the tournament worthwhile at the

Are teams: a) Going somewhere else on the dates?
b) annoyed because there isn't an event right by them?

Barry, Chris, et al,
I would like to apologise on behalf of the relevant player and UTB for
breaking the rules at Tour 2. I was gutted in Eastbourne when I realised
that one of our players hadn't bothered to sort it out, and I am not here to
try and argue our case. It was not our intention to try
Especially as the B Tour always gets stuck on the worst pitches as well,
where injuries are more likely/frequent.
(This is not a specific criticism of the excellent organisation of Tour 2,
as they were a victim of circumstances. )

Hi there,
I thought that I would share something with you all briefly. I have found a
good internet site supplying First Aid supplies, ice packs, etc specifically
for sports teams called http://www.firstaid4sport.co.uk/. I ordered some
stuff through there last week, and got it delivered within 3
Well that's alright, can't we all just ignore the deadline again like at
Tour 1? That way everyone is happy, and no-one ever bothers with a deadline
for any tournament. It isn't as if we are always talking about raising the
professional-ness of the sport or anything :-)

Hi there,
Last weekend saw the 3rd outing of the Great Barr Crawl indoor tournament in
sunny Birmingham. There was a big improvement in the level of play from the
previous years, and possibly the smallest social in Ultimate with only a
maximum of about 20 people. Despite that, everyone had a lot
to regular
practices in Birmingham or Stourbridge, and is willing to committ to the
club. If you are interested, then please email me at

Seeing as there was a little bit of a minor discussion regarding Indoor bids
recently (which everyone hates anyway), I wondered if anyone had looked on
the UKU site and noticed that we only have 2.5 Tours at the moment, which
means only 2 events for non-Top 16 teams. This comes after a deadline
Title: RE: [BD] Re: Reasons for not voting
I don't think that is what Finn was getting at. If we only voted for our mates, then that would be crap.
What I think he was trying to get at is that the Ultimate community, while small enough to try to encompass everyone's views, is also big
For
the UK, why don't we have a play-off between the winners of all the Winter
Leagues, and then put the top one or two teams from that into the Champions
League each year? It would give 'all' teams something to aim for in the Winter,
as well as the Summer. It could also go someway to
46 matches
