Hello,
this works okay with
kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686, version 2.6.8-10
again.
It still doesn't work with:
kernel-image-2.6.9-1-686, version 2.6.9-3
but that should become a new bug report if I find time, before 2.6.10 is
out for Debian.

Hello,
I can reproduce this bug with an IBM ThinkPad T23 and an IBM ThinkPad R51.
I am using kernel-image-2.6.10-1-686, version 2.6.10-4.
Kernel 2.6.9 didn't work at all on my IBM ThinkPad T23 (similar bug as I
reported for 2.6.8 in bug #282905). Didn't test on the IBM ThinkPad R51

Hello,
I tried grub 0.97-1 from unstable yesterday. Before I had
0.95+cvs20040624-19 from Etch.
While trying out grub 0.97 (see bug # ) I ran update-grub

Hello,
I think ideally the debconf script for xserver-xfree86 (and also
xserver-xorg then) should try auto-detection of the display size and
resolution. Then it should present the results to the user and let him
override it. When the user manually enters a different displaysize the
debconf sc
is available (link beat detection succeeds).
Any hints on how to achieve that /etc/init.d/ifplugd will wait until
network configuration is completed? This would be nice and when no link
beat is detected, laptop startup won't be deleted anyway.
