My K2's internal speaker is now alive and well. I found the problem around
noon Saturday and I really felt like a big dummy. I had it plugged onto P5 of
the control board instead of P5 on the RF board (behind the on/off switch).
And, I know how/why it happened. So
I am building K2 s/n 4759. I apologize my poor English skills. Let's
hope you can help me.
The first test with control and front panel board was OK. Only problem
was agc voltage which didn't reach 3.80V but 3.79V. According to several
similar reports I decided to forget it.
Alignment and
HI I'm trying to apply the N4PY Computer Contol System to the K2. Its head
scratching time. Can anyone give me the voltages that should be measured at the
output of the PC DB9 socket (only one) and at the out at the DB 9 on the K2
(If more than one mode wold appreciate how to identify it.
An interesting post..who would have thought there were 2 x P5's ? I
see in the parts list the P5 for the control board is shown with a picture,
and the P5 on the RF board doesn't get a picture at all.

Today I put a CB whip on the back of my bike and cable-tied the T1 to a
6 piece of coax, and then another length to my FT817. The whip was at a
45 degree angle but began to sag towards the back. I also clipped a
length of wire to the top and various other positions to try to get it
to load on
I never was a Vaxen. I've worked with dozens of operating systems over
the years but not that one. I live in a cloistered world mostly writing

In preparation for the K60XV I just finished, I had to upgrade my
KPA100. It involved changing a few resistors, adding two jumpers, and
replacing the firmware. It's now shutting down when I go into tune
mode (with the KAT100). I smelled smoke, and R21 in the KAT100 shows
signs of overheating.

S/N 04858 is thru the 40m receiver test [Alignment and Test, Part II].
The only problem [after replacing 10 uH L31 with 12 uH to get sufficient range
of 4 MHz Osc. Cal.] was when I performed the VCO Voltage Readings.
