For me,
the breakthrough here is that IBM is agreeing to license z/OS to ANYONE,
That's not how it works for us. An RDT system (and I have been maintaining
ours for almost two years now, but RDT has been around longer than that) has
licenced the z1090 code (RDT) and that code only. That's

From my experience no, a manual cleanup must be initiated. The FIXCDS command
does fix some records which apply
a patch e.g.ERR 24. For others such as ERR 03 the records the FIXCDS does not
do the cleanup.

AFAIK accessing the Integrated 3270 session is impossible from an HMC
browser session. It is also tricky mounting a DVD in the HMC drive if
you want to Gen a new z/VM system in a first level Logical Partition.
You can use a device on an OSA-ICC to be the 3270 console for z/VM IPL.
The
I'm not sure what knowing if you're in any z/OS instance of a SYSPLEX
buys you, but if you want to know:
If you're talking about a programming solution, the name of the SYSPLEX
can be gotten from field ECVTSPLX (which is a programming interface).
It is also accessible by system symbol SYSPLEX,

I would use ENQ
1. Add a DD statement to the job that you want to test for.
//TESTDD DD DSN=hlq.jobname.LOCK,DISP=(NEW,DELETE,DELETE),etc.
2. Issue ENQ with TEST on SYSDSN for the lock dataset name from the assembler
cics program.
Thanks,

What concerns Integrated 3270-Session usage from a remote HMC I have to admit
that
it is possible with the right Browser- and Java-Setup (i.e. Mozilla Firefox
31.0).
It works for me quite fine i.e. for z/OS Console Sessions or z/VM IPL'ing.
Or did I miss the point here ?

Ask your Top-Secret Security Administrator if there is a global option to
set the default TSO logon region. If not, you may have to define it for
each userid.

You could contact CA TSS support group and get faster answers. They are
very helpful.
Or join the MYCA Community forum for TSS and have a more specific group that

Hello Vinoth, here is a method that I have used in the past to change this
value for all users that currently have a TSO segment.
1. Obtain a list of all user ACIDs that have a TSO segment. The TS

Correct. $37,200 for the perpetual (forever) license. But if you want
to get _upgrades_ or maintenance, that costs 15%, or $5,580, per year
to receive. Without maintenance, you are stuck at whatever
Glad it worked! I should have mentioned that you can quite easily produce
a list of users with a TSO segment by reading the TSSCFILE unload output
file and getting the user ACID from the type 3500 record.

Hi,
One cannot reliably assume that a sysplex name of LOCAL implies
that the system is not running in a multisystem sysplex. LOCAL is the name
of the sysplex that XCF supplies in the default COUPLE00 parmlib member
that would cause the system to come up in what is called XCF-LOCAL mode.
Just curious,
If your tasks had a first step that mod'd a common dataset and then CICS

The data set could contain the info you need

Plex_name could also include LPAR name

Does the RDT license allow you to get updated ADCD images when they become

Can't the ADCD system be adjusted to use larger than MOD3 disks, just as one

Almost certainly. Base64 is a way of representing arbitrary byte
values using a set of characters that is less likely than many to be
mangled in transmission. Think of it as a more efficient way of
