Although he is on DSL, the computer still uses a number to dial out.
While this number uses a part of the telephone line that is not normally
used in normal analog telephone operations, it requires dialling none the
less.
Having said that, These settings should be checked as I outlin

telephone line it does not use the dial-up switch network.

Hi Rich,
It sounds like you need to call your ISP's tech support and get them to go
through your settings with you.
Another thing you might want to try is the connections tab of your options
dialog box.
I thought of this when I read your last message.

What do you mean you have spaced out your icons?
I have over six rows of icons without any trouble in JAWS reading them.
It could be that your icons are too large or too spaced out, if that's
possible.

I followed Victtor's directions for adjusting "hang up" time but this did
not help my disconnect problems.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that Jaws works well with IE 6
and the Yahoo site; however, it seems that Jaws does not work with Firefox and
the yahoo site? Has anyone encountered this? If so how did you solve the
