I just upgraded to the 2.6.31-20 kernel and found usbfs not working.
While I can appreciate the rationale for removing this, this is now a

I would like to second Bryan Hoyt's comments that this bug is very real
and not the same as other bugs that sound similar (not a device problem,
kernel problem, boot problem, etc.). I have been experiencing the
*exact* same symptoms:
1) Plug in usb key.
2) Key does not automount, but I/O light

When you see the black screen does attempting to switch VT to VT-7 help

Just a note: I installed Lucid alpha3 on my computer and with the latest
Firefox (delivered by default) and the latest Adobe-Flash-plugin the flickering
is practically gone, for me. This must be due to some changes introduced in
Lucid - since videos from the the same homepages (mostly Arte7+)
Very sorry for taking so long to respond to this.
Since, as you pointed out, the fix appears to be upstream already, can
you please check to see if this bug still exists in the current
development release of Ubuntu, lucid lynx?

Now this is funny... since i have several times noticed with different
kind of issues that users often are able to do something with live cd
but not on installed linux i gave it a try. On karmic koala 9.10 i386
(LiveCD) i pop in my SD and voila! It's on my desktop with all the files
on it.
So the
My Me Too. As Java developer I was disappointed after today's update
to lucid.

Using Virtual Box v 3.1.4.57640. Will only run in low graphics mode even

[Dell Studio 1537] temperature sensors and fan stop working following
Attached is a debdiff to fix this problem in Karmic which I propose as
an SRU. It is a one-line patch which did not cause any regression in
Lucid, so I think it will be very helpful for Karmic users. This bug
affects 8 persons and has one duplicate, so there are several users with
a PostScript
Kasper Peeters, the already released fix is only for Lucid, the Ubuntu
version under development, to be released end of April. As the patch is
small I have now proposed an update for Karmic. There will be a call for
testing it soon. Please test it then.
