the settings didn't reload on resume from suspend using FSPC, with
script above, so I modified the script to use the echo's instead, which
DOES work. fspc not auto-working, either re-running manually via

Per #51, switching to the current wicd (1.6.1-3ubuntu1) 100% fixed this
for me, although I don't expect that clears either the drivers,
supplicant or NM, but it might be a place to draw comparisons from.
Moving to wicd did mean I was forced to write my own ppp script for a 3G
wireless card.

Yeah, that is the exact same error I was getting, too. Right down to

well, nevermind. Wireless just died. Sorry for the false alarm.

On an HP Pavillion 6042ca laptop, with the power cord plugged in, my
mouse disappears after closing the laptop lid.
I checked the Power settings and it says that on AC power, the computer
is supposed to blank the screen. If I wait about 10 seconds
I just had this bug occur in Karmic. Why is it invalid?

I agree with Chris that a proper fix ought to be committed, rather than
just another workaround. If nobody cares about the show_desktop
option enough to fix it, maybe it should just be disabled (i.e. remove
the gconf key, and just always show the desktop). Personally, losing

I know the text is normal, I see it all the time when booting up Ubuntu,
but I thought the new Karmic boot experience was to see absolutely no
text after POST? e.g. grub is going to be hidden, along with dmesg and
what not.
