The Phaistos disk is either a sample of writing or it is a board game. But
as a board game it doesn't look very interesting.

The International Standards Organisation (ISO) has now agreed to give
standard meanings to these remaining codes.
Which as everyone knows, is really the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO).
Sigh.

Presently, at any rate. Who's to say that all the music software
companies won't one day, 20 years from now, agree a character-based
way to set music and interchange data. But there's nothing like that

It doesn't map to Unicode, and the Armenians have not proposed it.

our
alphabet. There is a difference. The behaviour of your "ch" as a
letter can easily be handled by various software solutions, and has
been as long as Slovak texts have been encoded, say with ISO/IEC
8859. The encoding of your "ch" is a sequence of two characters
there, and in
these compatibility characters only for the Serbo-Croatian
additions to Cyrillic, but not for the other Cyrillic characters?
It was politically motivated, to satisfy a voting NB.
