This youth along with two of his associates was arrested by police in relation to the murder of a retired executive engineer Bipra Charan Padhi during a dacoity attempt in the Gandhi Nagar area of the city on October 16. The visually impaired gang leader was Jagannath Nahak. The other two arrested along with him were Narayan Mohanty and Suraj Kumar Pradhan alias Suresh. Another accused in this case of murder and dacoity, Sitaram Das is still absconding. All of them are in their 20s. Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, Berhampur Superintendent of Police (SP) Shefeen Ahmed K. said this case was tough to crack as evidences left by the culprits was too less. Added to it the persons involved in the crime except the mastermind Jagannath had no past criminal record. A special squad had been formed under the SP to investigate the case. The SP said this case again revealed the dangers of allowing persons of dubious background to guard houses during absence of owners. Accepting tenants without checking their identity allows shrewd criminals like Jagannath to operate their crime syndicate from posh areas like Gajapati Nagar in Berhampur. Sitaram and Narayan had been allowed by the deceased Mr. Padhi to guard his house while he was out in America along with his wife. Narayan was son of his acquaintance. But he did not know that he was also part of the dacoit gang run by Jagannath. On October 16, these criminals had tried to commit a dacoity at Mr. Padhi's house. It is suspected that he could identify the miscreants, who preferred to kill him to avoid identification. Police have also seized the mobile phone and watch that had been taken away from the house of the victim. Greatest revelation was Jagannath himself. He was a student of Khallikote Autonomous College who had stepped into world of crime few years back. He has several cases pending against him in Polasara and Kavisuryanagar police stations. Two years back a bomb used by him blasted in his own hand. His eyes were damaged making him visually impaired. Instead, they are more bothered about pleasing their seniors in order to obtain more influential positions. Hence it is recommended that a suitable and influential line of help and co-operation should be available to the disabled persons in case their grievances are not redressed at the commissioner level. Point 13. Offences and Penalties:-- Which wrongful acts would you want explicitly punished in the Act? These days, the most dreadful and hateful social crime generally committed against disabled youth is normal girls marrying working disabled boys only to desert them later and flee with all their jewelry and other valuables; and not only that, later on filing legal suits against their disabled husbands in order to grab hefty sums as lifetime maintenance. There should be a strong and vigilant law in favor of the disabled boys so as to protect them from this blatant social injustice! At least 7 years of imprisonment and a fine at least upto 5 lacks should be imposed on the defaulter wives in such cases. What are your suggestions on creative sanctions other than fine and imprisonment which should be used to obtain conformity with the law? In my humble opinion, the defaulters should be sentenced to work in some good organizations striving for the welfare of the disabled. Still, if the culprits are found not complying with their duty sincerely, then the soul punishment should be rigorous imprisonment. In 2070 and beyond, these cars will be common and accidents will be rare, because all cars will sense all objects behind and in front of them. They will be everywhere, and as common computers are now in 2010. This invention will give everyone a now-undreamed-of sense of independence. You can't do it on the gmail itself, but If you configure it with outlook express as an imap account, it show-up all of your messages in your inbox and then you can select all for deletion. All the 50 mails present in the first page will be selected and a message will be displayed above the first mail in the page as: All the 50 mails in this page are selected. and a link will appear as select all mails in the inbox select that option.
