I really enjoyed The Darkest Hour.
Then I watched Dunkirk on Amazon.
Glad I did not pay for Dunkirk at the theater and glad I got to watch The
Darkest Hour first so I could know what was going on.

Hostiles. Wow. Prepare yourself before you go in that one. Not really blood
and gore but a storyline that'll tug at your
heart from the first scene.

Movies I have seen that I probably would not have seen without moviepass lately:

The Greatest Showman
The Commuter? (might have seen it anyway)

The big issue with Dnkirk is it is exactly like watching the same 15 minute
movie from 12 different seats.

I have never used it at a reserved seating theater. Basically you pay $10 a
month and they pay whatever the full ticket price is. Wether that is a $5
matinee out a full price $9 Friday night movie.

I had to wait for the card as there is only one theater here that accepts an

So the main limitations are:
1. Can only see one movie per day
2. 2d regular only
3. Must be within 100 yards of the theater to reserve seats

I haven't signed up on MoviePass website with the code yet so I'm not

Give it a try?

Anyone can purchase the Costco deal even if they're not members.
There's like a $4.50 surcharge is all for non-members.

I had to wait for the card as there is only one theater here that accepts an
app scan.
  So the main limitations are:
  1. Can only see one movie per day
  2. 2d regular only
  3. Must be within 100 yards of the theater to reserve seats

That is good for me. I really dislike 3D movies. They are always too dark,
don't work well with my glasses and are of no value to my
non-stereoscopic/binocular wife.

(She has two working eyes, they just don't have any overlapping focal
distances. We were playing beach ball volleyball at church once, she is
horrible with no depth perception. I suggested everyone close one eye to
level the playing field. For the first time she was the best athlete on the
court. It was fun watching so many people taking a swat at a ball that was
a foot farther away than they thought.)

But the story was just meh for me. I guess I didn’t know anything about the

Good movie, I knew some of the story going in. I think Smithsonian had an
article about the programmer within the last year or two.

Props were not quite up to snuff and there were a few scenes out of focus.
Cannot understand how they would not reshoot a scene that had focus
problems.

I enjoyed it and from what I remember of the article I read, it was pretty
historically accurate.

Agreed. I didn't get the idea they were laying out a series but who knows.

I think the NTSB thing was very much time compressed and probably not quite as
adversarial.
I do remember the left engine issue and the bird parts they recovered from it
proving it was not operational.
I think I did not dig in as much as they portrayed. If so I think there would
have been much more damage. I always visualized that he greased it in. He
was a sailplane pilot.

Yep, I liked the technical accuracy. And I have no idea whether the NTSB was
accurately portrayed. I'm leaning toward dramatic license, but I just don't
know.

And I agree - I thought the nose dug into the water a little more than it
should have. But what do I know about landing an Airbus on water??? I had
enough trouble with my ILS approaches this afternoon.

YEP! There is a rumor that Kevin Smith may be doing a Goonies remake. That
would be interesting, as I love both, and if there's anybody that could
pull him off it would be him or JJ Abrams. Still, I don't know if they
could capture the nostalgia of the time.

Anywho, ST is like Goonies + Sixteen Candles + Stephen King's IT

Love it.
