There are some measures which need to be adopted urgently. For instance, the places where computer is an innate part of the job, exams for such jobs should be given by the blind people on computers on their own. Also, its high time that we stop justifying the wrong, because then everybody can have a justification for their misdeeds. Solving mathematical problems in competitive exams may be challenging and so people take a scribe for that, but I wonder why such people have to also pass the university exams by the same means? Now the situation has also started to deteriorate in schools, thanks to the wonderful MSJE guidelines on scribes. Re: [Ai] accessing demat account by visually impaired
Aakash, Google for DP Operational / Inspection Manual, and read account opening instructions for blind. That sorts out Demat issue with CDSL / NSDL. For trading accounts, look for the circular of stock exchanges dated May 12, 2015. Get your basics in place before approaching them. Understand the parties involved, function of each account, how do you want to trade, trading volume which you can generate, etc. Lot of basic stuff is available on Google, and FAQs is a great way to start. I am from Jodhpur, so being a Rajasthani bhai, happy to help you with your doubts over a call. But I would appreciate that you read up before calling. Lets talk over weekend: 9892622230. Re: [Ai] software cracks
Issue of totally personal interest. After retirement, I am making efforts to write books in Hindi medium for the students of graduation course, particularly, relating to political science as I got chance to teach political science in Satyawati College (Evening). For this, I have started a publication with the name of Raktim Prakashan whih is a registered body. I have two issues: 1. Through this group, I am interested to invite writers who are interested in writing in Hindi for not only various courses of academics but also even otherwise and I have decided to bringforth books in a blindfriendly accessible format. 2. I am still writing through safa using phonetics way of writing Hindi and I am comfortable with it but the issue is that it cannot run on window 7. I either wish to explore the possibilities whether it is possible to use safa in window-7 or can I Use NVDA for hindi and is it possible to use phoneticcs with the facility of pronouncing each andd every alphabet while writing as it happens in the case of using safa in window XP. Suggestions and support of the group is desired. - Original Message - From: "Dipendra Manocha via Ai"To: "'Share, empower '" Cc: "Dipendra Manocha" Sent: Wednesday, August 02, 2017 4:15 AM Subject: Re: [Ai] software cracks Dear all Sharing my realization of this and the shift I made to correct the course: NVDA does provide a respectable and fully functional alternative to Jaws. I can mention this because I am using it full time for past four years. I use computer for almost 14 hours every day and did not have to switch to Jaws for anything. I am not a software developer but use it as a reading and writing tool like most of us. I do have Jaws license but use it only for testing few applications as part of my work for their compatibility with Jaws. Why did I shift: We now have developers working on NVDA in India. If we are all using NVDA, we have scope of getting it improved as per our needs. Indian Language support and availability of Phonetic words for each character for Indian languages are few of such examples. We definitely need to improve software for ourselves. By being a user of NVDA we contribute in its development. Because providing feedback itself is the method of developing the software further. Providing support in its use too is a big service that we do when we become a user of a software. By using Pirated software, we not just lose our right to contribute in its development and getting our problem solved, we block scope of further enhancement in a legally available alternatives. If we are able to adopt alternatives for critical needs of ours such as the screen reading software and OCR, we can do a big service to their further development. In past few days we read about availability of free of cost alternative for OCR. We can certainly try it out and see where it is not working for us. This can help developers to make such improvements and provide a solution. This shift to affordable alternatives and being able to interact with software developers has helped me to live with dignity and assist in working towards solutions for several of our long pending problems of digital empowerment. Re: [Ai] software cracks
Sir, could you please let me know what is the alternet of jaws cursore, invisible cursore etc in NVDA and how to use it. I tried a lot but could not succeeded. I have downloaded and listen the manual but no success. I prefer NVDA specially for hindi unicode documents with E speak. I also request you to please develop virtual ribben in NVDA as in jfw. -Original Message- From: Dipendra Manocha via Ai Sent: Wednesday, August 02, 2017 4:15 AM To: 'Share, empower ' Cc: Dipendra Manocha Subject: Re: [Ai] software cracks Dear all Sharing my realization of this and the shift I made to correct the course: NVDA does provide a respectable and fully functional alternative to Jaws. Same thought process and way of living also got translated to books and working with publishers and the amendment in our copy-right law. However, response in following mail is compelling and is very important for all of us to understand. It definitely brought many thoughts to the surface and I felt a strong drive to put them down. These are just preliminary thoughts and like many social or moral issues, they may not have a single conclusion. Most of us have developed a tendency of getting everything for free and expecting everyone to be supportive of us in whatever we may do. Surely most people choose to ignore the effort that it takes to create something. If the creator of that software or any other thing does not intend to distribute it for free what right do we have to have it for free? It may sound like a hard comparison but do we accept and justify any act of crime, small or big, if the person doing it is a needy condition? Impact of software piracy is not part of experience of the person using it, so it is much easier to ignore or justify it. On the contrary, from a social policy and analysis point of view, we say that if we do not channelize our youth in productive activities, crime in the society would increase. This is an empirical observation, whether one debates for or against it. One would justify based on where he / she stands. If JAWS crack was not so common in the visually impaired community, wouldn't we have been further behind in terms of our our sustenance and growth? But a person from an impoverished background would give a similar argument after committing a crime as well. So is that justified? While moral standpoints have no single answer, its practical implications are definitely obvious, as mentioned in the following mail. Thanks. Re: [Ai] Abhishek Behl reported in Hindustan Times yesterday: Gurgaon: Blind banker gets 10-year jail for raping blind woman
It's quite common in the advanced countries, many such cases are reported there. Men there and women also understand the meaning of equal rights and true liberation. I did hear one case being reported in India a few years ago but don't remember any details. Try to google. Re: [Ai] accessible help for booking OLA cab/Auto
I use ola and uber very often. if you compare with accessibility, uber is better than ola. but auto service is not available on uber. however, both of them are not fully accessible, but partly accessible. you can manage booking easily. follow these steps to book ola. 1. open the ola app, it will ask you to turn on the location. click yes. your device location will be on. 2. enter the pickup and drop location. those are properly labelled. 3. select the type of ride that you want to take. for example, auto, ola share, prime, micro, etc. note: your screen reader will not respond when you double tap on those option, but it will get selected. 4. find the ride now option at the bottom of your screen. 5. select the payment method. like cash, ola money, debit card. note: in order to pay with ola money, you will have to load money into your ola money wallet. to pay with debit card, you must link your card with your ola account. 6. click on the confirm booking button. you will ready to go! 7.you will get a confirmation message from ola, in which the car number, driver name and number will be given. you can also call the driver and talk to him. 8. an OTP will be also provided to you in that message. you will have to give that OTP to your driver when you board the cab. hope it helps. I have written these steps assuming you are using the android app. I am not using IOS so unable to help on that. let me know if you need any help in booking uber cab. thanks. Re: [Ai] Synthia Anand reports: Aranging 1000 scribes for the Blind: A blessing to visually impaired students
I have attended few banking and SSC exams. the problem is that there are so many complicated mathematics in the question paper. it is impossible for a visually challenged to solve these calculations on his own. because, most have them have not studied mathematics in their high school and colleges. even though that person is capable of solving those problems on his own, he falls short of time. it is impossible to solve them in stipulated one hour time. so, I feel that visually challenged students should be taught mathematics from their school level, or people with blindness should be given alternative in exams as well. like the schools have alternative subjects for mathematics and science such as political science and economics. Re: [Ai] software cracks
This thread may have been closed on account of reference to pirated software. Thanks. Even if we do not realise, we pay a very heavy cost for pirated software. This is because we condemn those developers to starvation who try to develop software for us. Thus no sensible person would try to develop anything for us. For example, did you ever think why Fine Reader doesn't have any Indian Language in it? Exactly, that is the point. In Indian conditions a man raping a girl is less guilty than the girl being raped. This mindset has to go.
