Re: [all-audio] re taking the blank bit out of my audio file

2022-04-11 Thread John Covici
Goldwave is from goldwave.com. Its about the same as audacity, find
the place in the file where the blank starts and hit the [ key -- when
you open the file the [ key is at the beginning of the file. Find the
end of the blank area and hit the ] key and then if you are sure, hit
the delete (not backspace) key and then save the file -- this program
works with .wav files, otherwise it will convert mp3 to wav and back.

Re: [all-audio] USB microphone

2021-12-27 Thread John Covici
I have found the akg lyrica very nice, and it has several modes, so
you can use it as a personal, mic, or front and back. There are
several capsules in it and it has a stand, but you can unmount the mic
from the stand if you want. I bought it from Sweetwater sound who are
very supportive.

In the filename tab, you can put a string with things like

I use the hp model number and it showed me everying but audio stuff grin!

I can't believe even the hp support assistant couldn't detect this.

I may try something crazy like installing their windows 7 64 bit driver
then trying to update it.

Don't know yet.

Beyond rediculous.

Re: [all-audio] Shure mic app.

2020-04-21 Thread John Covici
Well, there are two: if voiceover is off the saved filename is
different from the name when voiceover is on. Also, if you set up the
mic for a certain gain, and then record something and when you come
back to the app next time, if the mic is plugged in the gain db is
stored, even though vo will say its 0.

2018-08-27 Thread John Covici
What kind of settings? I know when I was in the control properties,
and turned all the visuals to blank, when I did OK, it was saved, same
goes for the playback settings, etc.

Re: [all-audio] using my iphone as a high quality recorder

2018-08-05 Thread John Covici
Rode makes a very nice external Mic which plugs right into the
lightningport -- you have to not have the phone in a case for this to
work, but this records at least at a sample rate of 48k and bit depth
of 24. The rode app will go higher, but I think my iphone 6 is not
powerful enough. This will not work on iphone 7 and above unless you
cut off the part of the mount which covers the home button which is
not really a mechanical button.

Re: [all-audio] most accessible way to use RTLSDR

2018-05-21 Thread John Covici
OK, the hdsdr has enough keyboard shortcuts and it will interfaceto
the hf plus, allI had to do was download a file from someone who had
written a .dll to edo so. The app itself seems to work,in my limited
testing, my nextjob is to get an antenna and try more things.

Thanks for the hint about this programm.

I have been able to tune an sdr from the web, but I would like to
hook up an antenna and get to the sdr which I have. Unless there is a
way I can use it from the web locally.
