New Task Creation
Hi , Is anyone aware , why there is a restriction on opening a TMS:Task in new mode?. I could see there is an active link(TMS:SHR:PreventDirectCreate) which Closes the Window when we try to open a form in New Mode. There are few things happenings as I noticed. 1> Ideally there should have been a Warning message in prompt bar "Message [45105] This form cannot be opened in new mode." But same is not displayed to the User. 2> Sometimes User has been routed to Landing Console or Request Entry Console though there is no Home Page set in AR System User Preferences form 3> Weird thing is most of the Users are being sent back to Login Page of Remedy. We are in ARS 8.1 and ITSM 7.6.04. Please let me know if you come across with any answer. Service Action and Set Field Scenario
Hi, I am basically confused on the purpose of using Service action instead of usual Set field action. Example, while I type something on Assignee field and hit 'Enter' (i.e return action), there are some active links written with service action to get the other details of Assignee. I have understood Service action triggers the filters who fire on Service Execution options and the behind logic is to get the other details through these filters. My question is instead of Service action, Set field action could have been used to get these Data. What is the purpose of using Service action here?? Can you please make me understand this ?? Authentication Strings in WSDL as Secure Strings
Hi, We have an integration of BMC Remedy 8.1v with an home grown .Net Application through Webservices. The third party application has found Vulnerability in the WSDL and have recommended us to make the Password as an SecureString. The WSDL generates the Authentication string (Username/Password) automatically and he developers will not have any control over this. Is there any option to make these Authentication strings are SecureStrings. Records with Group ID '-1' in AR System Current License Usage Form.
Hi, In the AR system Current License Usage Form there are few users assigned with Group ID '-1'. There is no group exists in the group form with this Group ID. We actually have floating licenses distributed with License Pools and users are usually been listed with License Pool Group IDs. Hi , Thanks for your response. There is a role called CMDB RE User with Group ID -1. But as for our application is concerned CMDB part is not being used and the users who are assigned with this group ID -1 are not CMDB system users (like , AR Escalator). We can notice some around 20+ users are been assigned with Group ID -1 in the form. @Durga , We do not have such unassigned Licenses. Hi, Users are facing frequent session timeout issues i.e ARERR (9201) - Session is invalid or timed out in our Remedy Application. The issue is randomly occurring across all the geographies of our Organization. Few Details: > We are in ARS , ITSM 8.1 SP1 version. Midtier Version : 8.1.SP02 Patch 001 201511101452 Hotfix > We have 8 mid-tier servers and 8 application servers (server Group > environment). > Mid-tier servers and AR Servers are both load balanced (F5 Load Balancer). > The Load Balancer which exists between the client and mid-tier servers (LB 1) > has a Cookie based persistence with no sticky session timeout set. > The Load Balancer which exists between Mid-Tier Servers and AR Server (LB 2 ) > has no persistence type set as per the initial recommendations. > From the Fiddler Logs captured from the affected Users, we found out that the > LB 1 (between client and Mid-Tier Servers) switches the users to multiple > Mid-Tier in very Short span and could be the reason for the session time out > issue. > We have checked with our LB team along with our findings from the fiddler > logs. Since the issue is randomly occurring and because log size going to > huge size the LB team could not able to trace it from the Load Balancer side. > The application was running fine without this issue from past 2 years. Hi Rob, Currently the Web facing Load Balancer is not having any session time out set and it is having persistence of type Cookie based. We are aware that if the Load Balancer has set any time out value it will be in seconds and should have greater value than the value set at Mid-Tier config page which is currently set as 20 minutes. BMC Remedy Integration with CA Spectrum

Recently while troubleshooting performance issues on our Production system, our DBA team has identified some unused indexes on T2356 (HPD:Help Desk form) and suggested us removing them could improve the query performance and clean up some space in the Database. Field Input Length Change not reflecting in Database
Hi, I have changed the database length of field via developer studio and verified its cloumn length in Database, it got changed successfully. But when I reverted the changes , i.e when I put back the Database Field Length to original value , the length of column is changing and reflecting the last length still. Any views on the same? Archive form's view is not available in Database
Hi, We are facing some problems while saving a regular form and getting the below error (Screen shot). The form has got archival form and but which is not visible after we got this warning message. Few Observations: We had verified that there is enough memory. We tried disabling the archival feature and creating the new fields but same warning repeated. Old Data still exists in the Archive table. The archive from is not visible via Developer Studio. The main form has no isues. Please let me know your views on this.
