Hi all - We discovered a bug in some custom coding that was causing certain changes (emergency) ones to get stuck - the user couldn't move them so they would be resolved and closed. We fixed the bug and we're writing some SQL scripts to close out the list of known stuck CR's. No problem there. We have one last hurdle - one my co-workers is running down the workflow, but just in case anyone knows the easy answer - in the process flow nav bar what data controls what is displayed? We need that to show Closed instead of Implement. The phase name menu comes from the approval process configuration - change them there and you will be able to select the new names on the approval mappings. You change the phase names in the approval process configuration - based on them being enabled they then show up in the pull-down list on the approval mappings. In CM 7.5, can we edit the Phase names referenced in the Approval Mappings, i.e. add, remove, change the names? If so, how difficult is that to sync up with the rest of the Change and Foundation data? Yep - I did it also - was real simple - I even tested whether the existing tickets in the current (and next) approval phases would be affected - particularly if the current approval phase was in the ticket and the ticket was approved - all was fine. So if the entries in that form don't affect anything, why are they there? The menus on the Approval Process form are generated from that form itself, like you hand-enter a value and then it appears in the menu. There is also an interface form that allows modification of the entries that we see in the menus, but it doesn't allow new entries. Has someone actually done what I am trying to do - alter the Phase Names used in the Approval Mapping forms? Tasks and Change Phase - ITSM v.7
We have a situation where we would like the tasks related to a CR have the ability to move to closed during the CR's plan schedule phase. These are generally research type tasks that occur in preparation for the implementation phase, but often drive the implementation approval decision and/or scheduled dates. An example might be identify space in the data center or research the latest patch level and release date. Any suggestions on how to progress a task during the plan schedule phase of the change request? We do not want to create a related CR to track the activity...that seems cumbersome to the team. I dug into this during a workshop with a potential client and determined that it can be done by reviewing the existing workflow and do the following. Add New Task Type field.
