I know it is linked since it runs ok on the fat client. This only
happens on the Mid Tier.

We are using Crystal 10 here for reporting. I recently retired my old
server and moved Crystal over to a new server. Everything works Ok
except one thing. I have a report which contains a sub report. When I
try to run the report I get the pop up below asking for credentials. If
I put in a valid ID and password the screen keeps popping back up.

The report worked ok on the old server. Other reports (without sub
reports) print OK. Anyone point me in the right direction?

The pop up says enter your user ID and password for the database used by
the sub report: po report Details.rpt

there are fields for ID and password. There is also a field for database
Name. this field is also blank but is grayed out.

Ok it was set to False. I changed it to true. When I went to make this
change I was prompted for credentials. I logged in and made the change.
I ten went into the Report form and deleted the old attached report and
attached the new version. After that it still works in the fat client
but not the Mid Tier. the sub report is still asking to log in. even if
I give my credentials it prompts again and does not load the sub report.
Any other ideas? I don't see why it would work in the fat client but not

Re: Crystal report Question

2009-05-18 Thread Leonard Neely - FOJ
Brian,

Does the current problem exist for any user running the report, from any
workstation?

Also, when you moved Crystal to a new server, did you verify that the AR
System ODBC configuration was the same? I have also seen issues similar to
this when the AR ODBC was configured as a User DSN instead of a System
DSN.

Re: Crystal report Question

2009-05-18 Thread Lammey, Peter A.
Ah...I think I know.

The Mid Tier has its own storage of the reports from the Report form I think.
I havent worked with the Mid Tier setup for web reporting much but I think that
might be your issue.

I think when you configure the Crystal Enterprise server to run reports from
the web there is a Reports directory on the server that will store the reports
locally on that server.

Ah...I think I know.

The Mid Tier has its own storage of the reports from the Report
form I think.
I havent worked with the Mid Tier setup for web reporting much
but I think that might be your issue.

I think when you configure the Crystal Enterprise server to run
reports from the web there is a Reports directory on the server that
will store the reports locally on that server.

the change. I ten went into the Report form and deleted the old attached
report and attached the new version. After that it still works in the
fat client but not the Mid Tier. the sub report is still asking to log
in. even if I give my credentials it prompts again and does not load the
sub report. Any other ideas? I don't see why it would work in the fat
client but not the web.

Crystal report QuestionHi,

You may consider using tcptrace or similar utility to capture what's wrong with
your environment. It usually brings more information than the logs in similar
cases. There is free eval of tcptrace.exe at www.pocketsoap.com.

Re: Crystal report Question

2009-05-15 Thread Sokol, Brian
Honestly I know next to nothing about designing reports. I was able to
create several mostly simple reports as well as this one with a
subreport. I created them over a year ago so I do not remember how I
linked them. Do you know where I would check for this? If I go into Edit
Subreport Links it shows an instance id field from my database there. I
do not see this field on my primary form. Does it need to be there?

Re: Crystal Report Question - SOLVED

2008-10-29 Thread Shawn Stonequist
Huge thanks to all! Using a combination of ideas from you, here is what I
used (in case anyone wants to know):

Formula field 1: AM/PM =
if Time({Times__eSight.Start}) Time(12,00,00) then AM
else PM

Formula field 2: Day =
DayOfWeek ({Times__eSight.Start})

Formula field 3: Day/Shift =
~
if ([EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} = PM or [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} =AM) then S-M
Shift else
if ([EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} = PM or [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} =AM) then M-T
Shift else
if ([EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} = PM or [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} =AM) then T-W
Shift else
if ([EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} = PM or [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} =AM) then W-T
Shift else
if ([EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} = PM or [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED]/PM} =AM) then T-F
Shift
~

Then I was able to group by Day/Shift, which gave me everything I needed!

Huge thanks to all again!!!

Crystal Report Question

2008-10-28 Thread Shawn Stonequist
Greetings List!

Nor a Remedy question, but hopefully someone can help me anyway.

I'm trying to write a report to show all records created between Sunday 7pm
through Friday 7am between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

I've tried

Time({Form.Create Date})Time (18, 59, 59) or
Time({Form.Create Date})Time (7, 00, 00)) and
DayOfWeek({Form.Create Date})7

however, this gives me records created between Friday 7pm and Sunday 7am as
well, which need to be excluded.

I tried thinking of a way to exclude Sunday AM and Friday PM, but couldn't
think how to do this.

Ideally, I'd like to also group them by Sunday PM/Monday AM, Monday
PM/TuesdayAM, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Crystal Report Question

2008-10-28 Thread Mohtashim

Hi Shawn,

A rather easier way of doing this would be to use Select Expert. Your
records probably need grouping via Day/Date. Once the records are grouped
you can use select expert to define the criteria for your report. Please
consider the following formula as an example.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] in Time (0, 00, 40) to Time (0, 20, 40) and
{Form.Date/Time} in DateTime (2008, 08, 13, 00, 06, 40) to DateTime (2008,
09, 07, 12, 32, 01)

In the above formula @Time is a variable that I created which basically
returns Time from DateTime field.
Hope this approach would help you.

Re: Crystal Report Question

2008-10-28 Thread Roberts, Lee (BLM)
This is how I attacked the problem.

I created two formulas.

* DayOfWeek

oDayOfWeek ({HPD_HelpDesk.Create Time})

* Hour

oHour ({HPD_HelpDesk.Create Time})

I then used them in the Select Statement.

{HPD_HelpDesk.Create Time} in LastFullWeek and

(([EMAIL PROTECTED] = 1 AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] 19) OR

([EMAIL PROTECTED] = 2) OR

([EMAIL PROTECTED] = 3) OR

([EMAIL PROTECTED] = 4) OR

([EMAIL PROTECTED] = 5) OR

([EMAIL PROTECTED] = 6 AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] 19))

Re: Crystal Report Question

2008-10-28 Thread Roberts, Lee (BLM)
As far as grouping goes, You can create the first group on DayOfWeek and
create a formula for AM/PM and create a second group on that.
AM/PM formula
If [EMAIL PROTECTED] 12 Then AM Else
If [EMAIL PROTECTED] = 12 Then PM

Subject: Crystal Report Question

Greetings List!

Nor a Remedy question, but hopefully someone can help me anyway.

I'm trying to write a report to show all records created between Sunday
7pm
through Friday 7am between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

I've tried

Time({Form.Create Date})Time (18, 59, 59) or
Time({Form.Create Date})Time (7, 00, 00)) and
DayOfWeek({Form.Create Date})7

however, this gives me records created between Friday 7pm and Sunday 7am
as
well, which need to be excluded.

I tried thinking of a way to exclude Sunday AM and Friday PM, but
couldn't
think how to do this.

Ideally, I'd like to also group them by Sunday PM/Monday AM, Monday
PM/TuesdayAM, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

HUGE THX IN ADVANCE!!!

John,

The crosstab is dependant on the selection criteria for the most part to
select records that said I'm thinking the way you can get what you
want is to put that crosstab in a group and have the group filter out the
records you don't need. The group can be something as simple as
true/false, and you supress the false records. Alternatively, you can
create a mock crosstab report which will probably work best. See Business
Object's website for that info.

Also tek-tips.com is an excellent source for Crystal reports help.

I'm trying to use Cross-Tab to display Incidents that are closed in the
first hour after the Helpdesk person takes it. I have my formula that
pulls the tickets to be counted.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] three months}
AND
{HPD_HelpDesk.Assigned_To_Group_}= 'Service_Desk_NAM'
AND {HPD_HelpDesk.Status} = ['Resolved', 'Closed']
AND
({HPD_HelpDesk.Status_History_Resolved_TIME}-{HPD_HelpDesk.Status_History_New_TIME})=

.04

Which works if the formula is in the record selection. If I move the
formula to a field on the Cross-Tab I get all tickets not just the ones
I'm looking for. There is a button on the Cross-Tab to add a formula but
if seems that Cross-Tab do not use formulas. Is there a box I need to
check off to have the formula run in the Cross-Tab?

The bottom line I'm lookingg for is the percent closed in the first hour
over the total number of ticket for given month.

I tried creating a sub report with a Cross-Tab showing all tickets but
could not find a way to percent the two fields (One from the first
Cross-Tab the second from the sub report Cross-Tab.

Re: Crystal Report Question

2007-08-09 Thread Dwayne Martin
Another option: Have a control panel that launches the report, into which you
enter your variables. Then base your report on a join between the control
panel and the form the report is really about. This control panel has a single
record. In addition to the input fields it also has a button that calls an
active link. The link first saves the record, which puts the variables into
the database, then displays the report.

Re: Crystal Report Question

2007-08-08 Thread Joe D'Souza
You can create variables in Crystal Reports itself and prompt a user for the
same when the reports are run. These variables could be dynamic if you
wanted them that way and query the database to generate menus of possible
values. Wouldn't that be useful to you?
