We got this when we upgraded to WIN7, it was completely random but always 18 copies. What we did was to send the report to the screen then if the user prints from Crystal it comes out OK. I know this may be a time consuming work around. However, you could have the user print to a PDF first, then have the user only print the pages that are required. There are plenty of free PDF apps out there. I personally use Bullzip PDF Printer. What about deleting the entry from the preference server? I didn't see any settings there for printing, but since another login works fine from her machine, that may be the only difference. Actually, understanding this problem a bit more. 18 copies occur if the report is greater than 1 page in length for any user using the user tool. However, if the report is only one page in length, you get only one copy. But these are good suggestions, but it would appear to be related with the Remedy User Tool/Crystal interface using Windows 7 as Tommy had indicated. Any ideas for workarounds other than to back off to XP or use only the web? I cannot duplicate the problem for other versions of Windows. Print Results in 18 copies
For some unexplained reason, for a single user, she is now getting 18 copies of a printed Crystal Report directly to the printer when she clicks on a Print button in 7.1 using the User Tool. The same action for other users gives only 1 copy. I get the same behavior using her login on my computer. The web is unaffected by this problem. Is there somewhere in one of the system forms that the number of copies might be set for this action by a particular user? Take a look at the ar.ini file and see if there are any values set to 18. I don't see any reference to number of pages. You could delete the ar.ini file and it will recreate it when the wut is re-launched. Be warned the wut setting will be set back to the default. This is a known issue with BMC. Try to print the same report twice. I could not duplicate the issue because I just printed one time and saw only 1 copy print. There is no workaround other than to cancel the print job after the first copy is finished printing. The end-user that was going to be impacted the most has simply refused to upgrade from XP. If you can print to SCREEN and then print this issue does not crop up.
