1: Ive played muds, played entombed a long time ago, and back in a previous life before I lost my sight played both Diablo 1 and 2.2: Like Dark I get burned out worrying about upgrading my equipment. Id be quite happy with armour as a single piece of equipment personally since I get tired of the aspect of some muds where you have to optimise everything down to boots, gloves, greaves and so on. A Diablo style system of body, head, boots and maybe gloves plus a couple bits of jewellery might be a good compromise for me.3: Crafting might be nice but I dont know how well it could be implemented. Also its probably way beyond this kind of project but a strong story would be fantastic and in a perfect world a free roaming world aking to Elder Scrolls games would just blow me away. I rather suspect they may have left out the cost of the TV, in any event the TV isnt relevant if youre using a signal processor/decoder like the article suggests. Such a decoder for a brand new technology like this would probably be ridiculously expensive, ones for 5.1 surround already arent cheap, plus the costs of 5 standard speakers, a subwoofer and a pair of ceiling speakers. Since ceiling speakers are only useful with the Atmos system they would probably have a high price tag as well.Its a nice idea but unless it makes a big difference with headphones like the article suggests I probably wont have the space or funds to get such a set up, not to mention the trouble of calibrating it all properly.

Hello guys,I didnt read all the comments above, and therefore dont know if anybody mentioned YTD video downloader. Not only downloads videos from youtube and convert them, but there are also +50 other sites which it can download videos from. It has a good download speed, and I am happy to use it. though its so much accessible, with jaws and other screen readers like NVDA, but only the convert process is not so accessible. So if anyone is interesting in this great video downloader, I would teach him to convert the videos. The quality is pritty good, and it also offers the opportunity to convert videos into PSP format, Apple video, iPhone and iPad video, etc.Good time all.

sometimes I wonder why some people can b so impatient. you shouldnt keep asking him when the game is coming, you should just be glad that someone is developing what is probably the first amusement park simulator for blind people. I understand how long such a large game takes to developpe, and also to beta test. the developer could have also uploaded the game as soon as he wrote the last line of code, but he wants to make it as bug free as possible before actually posting it. I think this is his first time developing a game, at least Ive never seen him in the community before, I havent played the game yet but I am all ready sure that he is doing a great job.

Hello guys,I myself think that a good game, a good program or ap that you would like to have on your pocket requires a lot of work and consiquently a lot of money. Just think about some games who are not for blinds, like: Fifa, Pro evolution, Grand Theft Auto products, Mortal combat and more others are not for free and if you like to get them on your computer, you will be required to spend just like 70 or 100$ to buy them. So if youd like to have good programs and games and other stuff like that, nobody will work as you expect. Think yourself, would you spend a whole year 12 hours a day, or even more, coding and finding new ways to make games more accessible? Can you imagine doing this for many years in a row?I know it sounds harshing in your ears, and I myself, like you, do not like to pay for games and apps, but remember, nobody is going to work voluntarily for decades without getting anything in return, except the pleasure that would offer his products after t

Isnt a link and comments enough?But as for the technology:The algorithm is called VBAP, uses only intermediate trigonometry and a bit of linear algebra for implementation, was figured out years ago, and works with highly arbitrary speaker setups. So congrats to Dolby on implementing something now that could have been done then. For headphones, its called the MIT Kemar HRTF Dataset, convolution, and a few artfully placed delay lines; this configuration can easily be done on a single chip, provided the main CPU isnt powerful enough (hint: sound cards that do more than output audio are obsolete on desktops). The headphone considerations were worked out in the early 1990s, but it wasnt until the early 2000s that we could start really doing them on your CPU at all, and not until say, 2010 that it was trivial and didnt require a huge degree of hand-optimization.But thats
  not even the real problem. They speak of decoders, and thats true: a decoder is important. But only for the TV. To get your computer speaking properly to the audio equipment, youll need to upgrade your sound card or buy some sort of specialized USB adapter, some cables, etc. If I had to estimate, retrofitting your current setup, even when the technology itself is cheep, is going to run upwards of $500. The cable you typically need has run me $50 in the past, and thats assuming that you have the special port to plug it into. Maybe they got smart. Maybe the encoders will just plug in with USB. I disagree that discrete sound cards are entirely obsolete, I have one myself. Theyre certainly becoming very uncommon but remember that motherboard companies dont always give you all the features you want, for 99% of users the on board sound is fine but theres usually going to be some people who want that something extra. Its also possible the Atmos decoder may be built into some discrete sound cards directly removing the need for a decoder for those systems.Never underestimate the lengths audiophiles are willing to go to.

I think Dark was trying to ask at what point is free stuff justified? In that context the presence of people, VI or otherwise, who try to get free stuff regardless of whether it is genuinely justified is indeed irrelevant since the fact that they ask for free stuff doesnt preclude the possibility that free stuff or discounts may meet a genuine need.As an example I like many have a free bus pass. Because I live in a medium to small sized town the amenities available to me here are quite limited, in fact theres only really banks, supermarkets and by some minor miracle a post office. Should I need new clothes or anything else along those lines I will need to venture out of town, since Im obviously not able to drive and taxis would cost far too much to be practical that means public transport. If I were able to make use of a car I would gladly pay for the road tax, petrol and so on but buses can be quite costly if you use them a lot as well as taking longer, b
 eing far less comfortable and only having a limited selection of drop off points. Even if I were to live in a city my ability to navigate from my home to the city centre would be more complicated than a sighted person, making a bus often a better option even beyond its benefits to the sighted. In this context I feel a bus pass is warranted.Of course I feel pensioners get often more than they deserve because theyre very good at shouting at the government who also want their votes, but thats another discussion.

What an update! Hes repeeting the same points he said, but in another way, like FAQs, questions and answers. In that way, people who havent bought the games cant play them forever, I mean the full versions. I respect Liams full time job, and the money he recieved from the community is a sign of respect of his hard work. But hes not willing to release them as freeware or abandonware because he consider that as punching those who bought them in their faces. Im not with that opinion since many people arent allowed to buy SL and JD from now on. So Liam, if you cant continue selling them, as I think youll do in the end, just release them as freeware or try to re-write them in BGT and have an automated registration system like in Super Egg Hunt, which I was happy to recieve the unlock key directly after filling all the informations.

Any news on See Munkey games?It has been 14 months and no news on RPG or duck hunt development.I havent tried the See Munkey headset with Swamp yet.Does it make targeting zombies quicker?I imagine sitting on a swivel seat with a laptop and a headset. To target a zombie all you need to do is swivel until it is in the center and fire. You are still facing the center of the screen so there is no need to move your head as your body is doing all the moving.

Hello.I think thats part of the strategy. The player has to anticipate at best the possibilities. In the example, an army just with the laser vessels is a a risky strategy. On the other hand, the infinite situations are possible in every cases of lack of ressource, for example an invisible building versus units who dont detect invisibility.However, a parameter minimal_damage can be interesting. We can imagine special units who attack without taking into account the armor, like a psychic unit for example.

I agree with roro. But perhaps instead of closing the game, if there is indeed a secondary server, it could return you to the main menu.Or, perhaps it could try and connect you to the other server, and if that fails, then it could end the executable.

On this occasion i decided just to order a pizza and a side and not bother with the desert. The driver appeared and said Our manager sent you a free desert I am not sure if she did this because of my lack of eyeballs, because I had been polite when asking about what pizzas they did, or just because Id ordered a few times and was a good customer. Either wayr it wouldve been intensively rude had I said

If you have a laptop in your lap sitting on a desk chair that swivels 360 degrees you dont need to turn your head as your body can do that.You may wandt to make small adjustments in targeting with your head but it is easy to swivel 180 degrees sitting in a swivel desk chair.This is a chair with 4 or 5 casters and a center post to swival on.I have headphones plugged into it so the sound should swival as I spin the chair with the See Munkey.

Perhaps this is asking a bit much, which is not my desire whatsoever, but I do believe it would be nice to have a dedicated website to the game and its resources. It neednt be anything overly classy, just a simple something that would allow for a quicker way to obtain all of the information available, including connection information, soundpack information, and perhaps a quick help file for those who wish to get started if possible. Currently, the thing thats kept me from trying it out is that while I come here to moderate on a regular basis, this one keeps being put out of my head by other things that come to the foreground, and since this is the only place I know of where I can find information related to it, Ill almost never come back since I forget it even exists; no offense meant, by the way. Until someone posts about it again, its sort of out of sight, out of mind, as it were, which is rather sad, considering that you seem to be maki

About different minimal damages, this might be addressed by issue #37, Different damage amounts to different unit types:https://github.com/soundmud/soundrts/issues/37I tend to consider minimal_damage as a property for the whole game, but it might be possible to include it in a unit definition and inherit it, or keep the global parameter and use it as a default. It might be complicated to set this for each unit and not very useful. Or maybe just set it for each unit if you need it, and it would be 0 by default.

@pragmayou had that me think on another problem.The solution is not a minimal damaje (this is a diferent isswe) the problem is have a inactivity timer.If a players does nothing (consider do something complete one action in the game, not move the cursor, or simply select a building) in a period of time, the player is declared inactive, and the other player is declared winer.@soundmud:respecting the minimal damaje, this behavior is excelent. one default and if you want a spesial minimal damaje to one unit, you can specify other minimal damaje to it.For the other... ¡awesome! thanks!

Maybe splash damage should go to the nearest squarestoo. I doubt music will benefit from Atmos, no more than normal 5.1 in any case. The key to surround technology is content and music is generally only made in stereo, the 5.1 just spreads it around more so it surrounds you. If TV and films begin becoming available in Atmos format thats another matter, and potentially even games.The ability to hear the vertical dimension in games if this technology works as wella s it is claimed would be quite interesting for us, the Z axis is something audio games inevitably struggle with.

yo, got a problem with my yamaha tyros 4. most of the instruments with the exception of the pianos electric pianos and strings have this wierd, reversed type sound conbined with a wierd reverb and despite several resets the device refuses to work right.any help would be appreciated as I am left without one set of 1200 sounds

Your sound card may talk to more or provide higher sampling rates. But the days of offloading 3D audio to them is over, mostly because literally no one but Creative even supports it now, and Creative doesnt even implement all of their own standards and has officially killed the documentation for OpenAL. In the sense that you need one to get high quality out, they are still required; in the sense that theyre supposed to take a lot of jobs related to setting up effects for games, theyre on the very, very edge of the chasm of completely dead. Im not saying that you dont have one with these features. Im saying that no one programs for them, for a variety of reasons-foremost increased CPU speeds and a lack of a cross-soundcard standard.As for Z axis? yes, this might help with that in the sense that you can turn your head. But why write a game for it? Maybe 10% of the playerbase will have one, so you can
 t use it for gameplay elements. If we want to talk about the Z axis, hooking head tracking up to Libaudioverse or another HRTF implementation is the only real hope for anything thats not going to be a tech demo, and theres still the issue of getting everyone to have head tracking (mice are much cheaper, and those were a big struggle for Swamp, or so Ive heard). The Z axis problems arent audio problems, anyway. Improving the audio might allow you to aim vertically, which is cool, but it doesnt help communicate staircases that climb around the walls of the room, or anything like that.

If its stated in the rules then the mods were well within their authority. As for me I consider myself an an Agnostic. I have no problem with individuals personal religious bliefs as long as they dont try to preach to me or threaten me if I dont convert to those beliefs. I ended a nearly two-year romantic relationship over that. But since the Playroom is for games religion has no place. Now if they had an off topic room like we do here that would have been another matter.

Ive played EmpireMud for a week now, and I think im beginning to figure things out.Does anyone have any tips for the structure or layout when youre building your empire?You have to make the buildings face a certain direction, so Im specifically wondering if that matters at all in gameplay.A Few Tips for Anyone Who Wants to Play, Courtesy of Mistakes I MadeI am by no means an expert, but these are things that caused me to have to delete characters and restart the game, so hopefully theyll help someone else avoid the pitfalls.1. You cant found a city within 25 tiles of one of the towers. So at least the way I understand it, theres not much point to claiming land anywhere close to the towers until youve found a place for your city.2. Try to find a place for your empire that has lots of different terrain i.e. rivers, forests, mountains, etc.3. You can only build on fields an
 d deserts, and if you find yourself in the midst of a forest, all you need to do in order to create a field is chop down all the trees in a forest room.4. Dont go into the mountains to mine ore early on, unless you see a path. If you go there without the mountain climbing skill, youll be stranded without a way back down.5. Once you craft an axe, you can keep chipping away at it until it becomes a spearhead. You can attach this to a handle that youve crafted, to get a spear, and then you can fish.This is a great Mud for crafting, especially if your style is to figure things out on your own without a lot of specific instruction.

Hi eans.Ok, this may sound stupid, but when you boot your system up, with sight hold down 0.That is press and hold 0 then turn on your computer.There should be a recovery program.Reguardless of what you have you should restore back to the factory defaults of that program.Drivers wise.the only issue you may have is getting the realtech customised model of their wireless wlan ae 8223aen drivers because the model does not exist on realtech site so I assume its either discontinued or only made for that system or for Toshiba.Your network drivers that being the realtech gb efi family, realtech ad audio driver those you can get.If you search for intel driver update and amd driver update you should be able to get compatable versions of hd audio display and cpu drivers.windows update may have extra stuff to but please concidsder running whatever your recovery partition has on it and staying with it.even if you have to remove a lot
  of bloatware, because you will get access to everything.If your system came with win8 or could run 8 check your box or search round you may or may have an update disk which will update your recovery partition as well.saying that I thought you could refresh windows 8 installs.Myself Id just reformat and use windows7.

Actually I was thinking exactly of signalling about staircases and things more than aiming vertically, it would at least let you know that there was an object present which worked in the Z axis.Youre right about the number of people likely to have access to it of course, unless something like this becomes utterly ubiquitous audio games are never going to be able to use it.

Spoilers again regarding post gameSo I decided to enter the ruins although I have a copied save around just in case I missed something before the ruins. Found the ghostly chamber probably by accident since the ruins are incredibly confusing to me so far. Made it to floor 3 and as Jayde said in a previous post, the scroll walls are definitely a pain in the neck! Got to the second one and just cant get it! I sort of like that it progresses from slow to fast but those last couple are what gets me. Perhaps a change can have the walls take damage and slowly weaken the more you atempt them, depending on how far you get with their scroll. That way they can still take a while to get through and the player can progress with out getting super frustrated.@Jayde I agree with you about the Over-reliance of hand ear cordination. Not everyone can have the split second accuracy and reflexes that this game is calling for and this fact may
  turn off many gamers. I am really torn between feeling this is an excelent take on a J-RPG for the blind and one of the most unbalanced/unfair/frustrating games Ive ever played, audio or otherwise.

Hmm, the discount on internet and phone packages must be something unique to Turkey, Ive never heard of that one before though it does make a certain amount of sense. Personally Id be happy with our government waiving the VAT on such services for us, that way it doesnt take money away from the company themselves.

Hmmm.I dont handle these devices.Firstly Id try to update your firmware.if its a coman fault then your firmware should be updated.Next Id check the forums and support places for the board, its likely more than one person has this junk.There may be a solution get the latest drivers to.If that does not help call the manufacturer I think its Yamaha or roland not sure.Get the thing serviced but it will probably cost a bit.Keyboards and stuff dont generally break but they are machines and like all machines they will ware out so.The other way you could try is back up everything and give the board a good reformat and then reflash your firmware.Check all cables, something echoing is usually an effect but if its happening all the time it could be feedback from another device.I have the same fead back if for example I plug my radio computer and amp into one point I have a ups next door to me and the ra
 dio that side on fm is a no show.

[[wow]] Enes I never realized the government was so nice in Turkey as regards providing financial assistance or requiring companies to do so.Here in Britain, bus passes are free in some counties but not others sinse bus travel is administered by the county councel not the government at large and different councels have different ideas. There are disabled rail cards, but given the state of Britains very silly train system (we really do have the worst administered trains in europe), they only have some effect and are honoured on some services due to the many companies and confusing regulations that vary train travel. For the Metro again it depends where you are. Newcastle metro is free, or at least they accept the free bus pass, but in London they certainly arent. It would actually be helpful if the British government did indeed lay down some laws on this rather than leaving the decisions up to local councels by laws. I am also frankly amazed! to hea
 r that in Turkey companies must sell blind people tv and phone packages for less, again, very much not the case over here,  even tv licenses which are paid to the government directly rather than to sky, virgin or one of the other companies have no reduction for blind people, (they used to but that changed in the late nineties).This however illustrates the problem of saying If I am legally entitled to something I will take it sinse manifestly different countries have different laws which may allow for different things and when either campaigning that a law should be changed, or simply asking for something to which a person should be entitled even if the law hasnt caught up to that yet there doo need to be some higher moral principles in place. For example, there is unfortunately no law! that says a game developer must make their game accessible, yet there are some very good ethical arguements as to why they should, equal access etc. this is 
 why I tend to think we need to sort out some reasonable personal ideas of what is equal access and what is unfare entitlement, sinse unfortunately the law isnt adequate to the task, it certainly should be, but that is not currently the case, and frequently it will be up to each individual blind person to argue the toss on her/his own.

[[wow]] Enes I never realized the government was so nice in Turkey as regards providing financial assistance or requiring companies to do so.Here in Britain, bus passes are free in some counties but not others sinse bus travel is administered by the county councel not the government at large and different councels have different ideas. There are disabled rail cards, but given the state of Britains very silly train system (we really do have the worst administered trains in europe), they only have some effect and are honoured on some services due to the many companies and confusing regulations that vary train travel. For the Metro again it depends where you are. Newcastle metro is free, or at least they accept the free bus pass, but in London they certainly arent. It would actually be helpful if the British government did indeed lay down some laws on this rather than leaving the decisions up to local councels by laws. I am also frankly amazed! to hea

For example, there is unfortunately no law! that says a game developer must make their game accessible, yet there are some very good ethical arguements as to why they should, equal access etc. this is 
 why I tend to think we need to sort out some reasonable personal ideas of what is equal access and what is unfare entitlement, sinse unfortunately the law isnt adequate to the task, it certainly should be, but that is not currently the case, and frequently it will be up to each individual blind person to argue the toss on her/his own.@Cx2, there did used to be a similar reduction on licenses, essentially because if you couldnt see the tv you werent getting your moneys worth, but this was done away with in the nineties. If such a law were reintroduced, Id prefer a standard percentage reduction like the one in Tirkey, and the companies can go whistle for their money, then again the idea of the government actually standing up to any corporation seems less and less likely.

As to not taking care of everyone clearly breaking rules, youre probably right. However from what I can gather from forum posts on the playroom itself, the moderators can mostly only act if they can see what has happened, because they dont want people to slander others in the hope that they will get banned. You will have to send them logs via email even then, logs can be falsified. This is why the guy who has like 10 accounts and joins free tables with all of them is still in the English playroom, because they dont have proof and the guy whos doing it is still claiming they arent doing it. Plus the English playroom currently has no moderators because its hard to know who to trust. I feel they might want to spend a little more time getting to know the people on their platform but of course that also takes time.If the moderators are intentionally closing their eyes when somebody other than you breaks a rule, then your complain might be valid
 . Good luck proving that though, and I for one dont really believe this is the case.

Dark, TV licenses are half price if youre registered blind, try getting in touch with TV licensing. Oh and FYI the TV license funds only go to the BBC, in fact TV licensing isnt even a government department its run by the BBC themselves. Thats why theres been so many problems with the BBC hiring people on commission to be their enforcement officers and doing some rather disreputable things, its worth remembering they have no authority to enter your premises and if they need to in spite of the residents objection must be accompanied by a police officer. Of course theyre all perfectly happy to let people think you have to let them in to look around by law which is blatant nonsense.

It looks to me like it hasnt been fully decided whether the full version will be free or not. If this is the case, then an early warning about the planned stopping of sales would be highly illogical. Because then first Liam would say you only have a month to buy these games before they will no longer be sold, and after that the games would be freeware. No one would buy the games in that month because if they wait, they can get it for free. A system like that doesnt make sense, people would feel ripped off. thats what the donate button is for. So if hes still not sure whether he wants to make them downloadable, no warning at all is probably the better choice.I bought both games very soon after they were released and quite frankly, making the games free doesnt feel like a slap in the face to me at all. Perhaps it might for those who have bought the game more recently, I cant speak for them of course but I have no problem accepting that
  things like this can always happen.

This is a very useful list. A few things I noticed,All of the BSC titles are still listed, but you cant get them anymore.Same goes for Tarzan JuniorAcefire and terraformers are now freewareTime of conflict seems to be listed twice for two different prices.Looking at it made me realise just how few audio games there actually are. At least, paid ones. I was always under the impression that they were more.

Ive gotten a lot of emails and messages about this. Im willing to release them as freeware so long as previous customers are ok with it. Everyone has seemed ok with this. theres no time table as to when I can get this done. Visual studio is so ancient it fails to install on windows 8. so now I have to go through the process of setting up a virtual machine and all that.

So basically it allows you to see the picture by learning what all the sounds or the colors mean in braille? Its like learning braille you learn what the letters mean and you are able to make words. But in this case this is for pictures?

More or less. The biggest limitation is that there isnt another output method with the resolution that a computer screen has, so keeping a good signal to noise ratio is tricky.

Ok, so I tried this out awhile ago, but waited until now to post my thoughts. First, I need a piece of advice regarding hidden items. I could really use the potions and coins especially, and when I listen to the recorded walkthrough, it seems there are a lot of potions hidden in the world lounge. I swear, I spent over and hour walking and pressing C in every part of that room, but only managed to find a couple of potions. Is there a general area where they can be found? Regarding the magic system, I actually really like it, but Im pretty bad at it. Im still playing the demo, and will probably buy the full version, but only if I feel I can master the magic. My reaction time is horrible, apparently. I have no computer latency issues, I just cant seem to hit the key fast enough, and rarely cast perfect spells. Judging by the posts on this forum, it sounds like perfect spells are necessary for a lot of the game, so we shall see how it goes. I dont have an issue
  with the size of the areas, but I do think there should be more indication of a person or item. You almost have to be right on top of it before you know its there. I understand that in most rpgs, the maps are large, but the sighted can see a lot of it at once, so they dont need to walk all over everywhere to find something. Again though, any tips on the hidden items would be welcome. Overall, I am really enjoying the game so far.

Regarding post gameIs there a stat shop anywhere at all? I really want to upgrade and kelly/stella have about 10 coins each. Wandered around, found jeffs memorial and defeated the bosses there. Guess will keep wandering hoping to find other places or maybe go back to ghostly chamber and try the stupid walls again.

Hello.@waders, maybe you didnt extract the entedies file in the correct place. first download the full game from dragonapps website, second download the map pack and entity files from post 1787, then extract it to game folder\sounds\amb\generic. now every thing should work well.

So, is there a point to leveling? More hitpoints? Better weaponry? Right now it seems to me that while I can run around killing people, which doesnt seem all that hard to do, given that I killed someone within five minutes of being signed in, there isnt much purpose to this game or a goal of sorts other than raw combat. How does leveling work? Is there an experience system of sorts? So much left unexplained.

well, I guess they can do what they want in terms of there games. I am sure it takes a lot of time and work to do them and trying to keep them updated with the latest windows OSs etc. I hope he does better games and if not, hopefully we will see better soon from other developers.  such as we have slowly but surely.
