Re: Why don't you like multi-player games?

Hello sneak. thanks for helping me in devs room. Well well? here I write my opinion as simple. I like a Multiplayer game if there is no cheaters the latest example of STW by sam where a guy Alirisita.nusrati cheats and got Supernatural by the DFC. also people often don't use their real name. like ishan"""987848484748383 ?People use to scam everything in the game world. I request if a person use any symbols like super script and others then the surver has the following errors. Error! you cannot use symbols in your name! also some people use to make another char. if a person makes another char from the same IP he or she should be banned immediately. That's what I think. ThanksIshan

VipMud scripting, IFElse and lists

VipMud scripting, IFElse and lists

Ahoy there,I'm hoping that someone with experience with the Vipmud scripting could help me out with this issue I have been having and haven't been able to figure out yet, even though I've read the documentation quite a few times. My first question is related to the if else method, I know that VIPMud script doesn't really have such a feature but I'm guessing the If statements could be nested to achieve the same result? but I haven't been able to figure out how to do it,yet. hence the topic :dLets see if I can state this a bit more clearly  with an example of a alias that does different things depending on what the variable value is.#alias km {#if {@monster="elephant"} {kill elephant}//here is where I would use else if,but there's no way to do that,so I suppose I'd use another if statement here?{#if {@monster="lion"} {recall}//however if the variable @monster is not a lion o
r elephant or any other animal that's not listed in these if statements{dance}} {jungle}This is obviously wrong, but as obvious as it might appear, I can't find the correct way to write something like this down.Lists are something that I haven't gotten down, at all. I know you can add items to a list, and can call that list up by a key alias or what you will,  but how do you actually go about adding those items from a string to the list in the first place?say I scan, and find  the followingnorth: lion 100%south: tiger 40%east:spider 100%west: skeleton 80%How would I add items or these amimals to a list and get it to say, scan for me and bring up a list to choose from when I write sc or press a key.I'm hoping some of you can clear these questions up for me.cheersgrryf

@Grig,I would imagine switching between two or more windows in the same process or application is much like on Windows -- control+tab.I will definitely keep everyone posted.I used Pages for a little while before deciding I would love to see MSWord in action on OSX than rely on Apple's productivity suite.  I don't think you have nearly the same amount of power with word processing when it comes to anything but MSWord that is "mainstreamed"Luke

Re: BGT help please.

@Nibar honestly the BGT manual is probably the best you'll find. It explains everything in detail from the basics of programming all the way to building and optimizing a game. You should be starting with the language tutorial, not the reference section. Take your time, don't copy and paste examples (but actually write them out) and feel free to ask questions when you don't understand something.Don't be discouraged if it takes you several months (or more) to really get the hang of it.

HiI like multiplayer games more than single player games. For me, a single player game becomes boring once the pattern is discovered. For example, if we discover all kinds of enemies and their movement, we could kill enemies easily and it becomes boring. But online games don't have constant patterns. In an online game, it depends on players. In an offline game, it depends on the program.

Re: KNFB Reader on sale!

I have never gotten KNFB to successfully read any kind of electronic display other than my computer screen, I believe it's because KNFB doesn't recognize the seven segment displays often used for displaying numbers. Also, those types of displays often have a shiny plastic cover over them, so you have to treat it like a mirror and minimize the possibility of reflections.I've had much better luck using TapTapSee to read those types of displays.Until I got my talking programmable thermostat, I used it to read the original digital thermostat and it had a rather small display. I would take the picture with the camera off center to avoid reflections and somewhere between 8 and 10 inches away.I sometimes wish that someone would develop an app specifically designed to recognize and read digital displays.hth

The size there may be a bit off seeing that I didn't take a ruler to it. Anyway, it sort of read off a few of the controls, but not all of them, neither did it get the frequency from the screen. Anyway, I will have to try it on something else. Maybe my photo ID...

Re: The Blank Game!

I don't use JGT, but you can use Q Translate to read battles. You can't see the enemies HP. All you can see is their level, or math as it is in this game. About saving, it's the last option in the menu with investigate, move, and the other options. That menu is translated, but when you save it says go do your math. When you select save, you will get a list of slots. Press enter on one of them, and you will hear a beep and the game will say go do your math. That means the game is saved. For your HP and stats, press tab twice anyware in the game. The first time you press it, it will show your position, how much cashcash you have, and your HP and MP. When you press it again, it will show a full status meaning HP, MP, math or level, how much numbers you need for the next level, your attack, magic attack, speed, defense, physical evasion, magical evasion, magic defense, and all the proficiency levels. I know the story is weird, it says that in the documentation. For lowe
ring the music volume, press and hold f 6. This will also lower the actual volume of the game. A better way would be to go to settings, and search for adjust system volume. Press enter when you find it, and tab between all the programs. When you find the game, press left and rite arrows to raise and lower the volume. To find settings on windows 8, press windows and c then go to settings. On windows 10, it's windows and I then search for adjust system volume.

Hi guys, if you go a bit back to the previous pages, you'll get what's the reason of making this summy payed. Death Free Cards and Teleporters, those things are payed and as Sam said in the change log, they can be available and purchasable by points sometimes. Finally, the reason of these payed items, tell me how will Sam pay for the VPS, the sounds, whatever. We have already been talking about it since two or three months. And we all knew the reason of that payed account etc. Just, people used to have more than 5 dfc's.

My issue is the fact that you have to deal with cheaters and arrogant people who think they're so good becaue they have the advantage of hacking. It's fun to cheat games locally with prewritten codes just to see what you can do, but when you're cheating and ruining the experience for everyone else...

Yeah, swamp in its early stages was much more inviting to me and my n64 childhood.  Perfect Dark was very much on my mind and I wanted to see more done with coordinating attacks on zombies, strategical points of interest where people, particularly snipers and the like, could shoot down and keep poppulations from overrunning the crate collectors etc.  Even watching the zombies get a little smarter wasn't half as bad as I originally thought it was going to be... And then my dreamworld came tumbling down...

Death, what windows version and screen reader are you using? I've usually had issues with lag using SAPI in windows 8 and 8.1. I don't see why this could be a problem in a recent swamp version, but have you made sure that your keyboard layout is set to US English? Re: Why don't you like multi-player games?

I don't mind PVP, per se, but I'm not going to be sitting on a game long enough to compete with anyone I'm likely to run into and there isn't really a way to practice to get better, in my (admitedly very limited experience), so in practice, what I'm looking for is something that can be singleplayer or multiplayer, and doesn't penalize singleplayer players. The examples I'm thinking of are mainstream games and Swamp. In fact, when I looked up a playthrough of the X-men arcade game from Konami, I immediately wanted to play it or something like it again! The 4-player local type Marvel games, like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and its spinoffs/sequels/sisters seem like the spiritual successor to this sort of arcade game. I immediately started trying to make one, then went too far in the wrong direction and broke my teeth on trying to design 3D maps (I should upload that edito
r for the lulz). As for PVP? I have only watched and heard about a few matches and surrounding issues, but I get the impression that Dragonball Zenoverse manages to organize the skill/ability/history levels in such a way that you should know what you're getting into, and when you're hopelessly outmatched, the fact that it's based on the luticrously unfair Dragonball universe makes it seem more appropriate than when I get curb-stomped at Mortal Kombat for not having opportunities to practice (never mind against appropriately skilled opponents). DB:Zenoverse is far from perfect in its implementation, and I have other issues with the game, but it seems like the right direction.Gauntlet Legends, X-men Legends (Ugh not being able to appreciate that one was actually quite upsetting), DB: Sagas, pretty much any of the popcorn beatemups from the 90s like the various TMNT and Streets of Rage and Golden Axe type games. For something less combat-oriented... well
, OK, I still point to Gauntlet Legends and X-men (all of them, except the Konami one), but also something like Sonic3K, which is more about exploration and puzzles and doing it all as quickly as possible (it's not very good at co-op, but for an online game, that style could work much better. And Sonic2 and 3 have PVP in the form of races, which I like because the competition aspect isn't really all that important, especially in Sonic2.)So, how about Swamp?I dunno, I kinda disappeared when PVP showed up. I liked Tide. The early incarnations of Hard Core and simple fort sieges weren't so bad but I didn't do it enough to get a decent opinion. I like the cooperative missions and wouldn't mind if more was done with those, besides adding more difficulty options. I like the Sniper missions and LMS (or at least how LMS worked before PVP... I haven't tried the new version but expect I'd get pwn'd too much to be fair ). I was terrible at CTF before the health/speed pickups were added and haven't played since, but I really wanted to get into it and just felt like I'm not good enough for it.I guess, in effect, Swamp is pretty close to having everything, as audio games go. I can complain and want here and there, but it's not like Aprone is a god, or anything[1].I have lots and lots of notes on games I want to make, and I like these particular multiplayer styles enough that I've included them even where I probably shouldn't have (see the JFIM Adventure), but ultimately, I've been a naive preteen who's not as good as he thinks he is for at least 15 years, so, barring miracles, they are likely to remain mere notes. :'(But, yeah. Dark has the right of it.[1] You know
, I remember Aprone saying his name came from the name of a god or fantasy character, possibly associated with Neptune, but when I Googled to check, the only results that weren't about our Aprone were census results with two Aprones in the past 200 years, and a David Aprone's Facebook page.

Re: Why don't you like multi-player games?

I couldn't have put it any better than post 10.  Top players suggest a feature?  We'll add it in because we don't want to lose them.  Newbs suggest a feature?  They're newbs; what do they know about it.  Friends suggest a feature?  I like my friends...Nowadays I don't tend to play much around the community that calls itself multiplayer unless I know who owns what first, which I suppose needs to change at least a little given my reinstated moderator badge and cap and boots and everything, but the state of multiplayer affairs as I see it right now is rather depressing.  The swamp topic right now seems like a sprawling nothing to me that makes little to no sense.  Prometheus was ok for awhile, then things went screwy sometime early last year and never got back to anything near what I would consider worth my time.  Redspot is  strictly a FPS; there's only so much of that I can take, and I'm tire
d of board and card games for the most part.  SC is still ruled by roleplayers, Miriani by griefers, even if it is doable.  the highest level players are receiving the most attention on Alteraeon at present.  I sincerely hope this takes off and does something, whatever it may be.

Re: Monthly chat July 2016

Well Nocturnus, I'd  definitely never tell peole about their kids unless I thought there was a really!major problem, and probably not then.  Some of it might be more extreme due to the hole disability thing (people on average seem quite free to meddle in the lives of disabled people in general, especially around so called "normal" things), but to an extent all parents probably get something of the same thing. A good friend of mine who currently has an eighteen month year old child said  she was most impressed that I was the one person she knew who didn't! try to give her pregnancy advice of the "sit down, don't lift that, don't drink that, drink more of this, eat more regularly" type variety. I simply went on the basis that she probably knew far more about being pregnant than I did so if she wanted or needed something she'd just ask, she told me  that sort of attitude was amazingly! rare . She actually now has the same problem with her child, though perhaps less in terms of interference in terms of things like your cheatoes experience and other such disability practicality things. right now we're waiting for wedding guests, or at least my lady's friends who' she's going out with this evening, to arrive, hence why I'm not starting anything. With space mudsI've still not had the nurve to try miriani. Promethius I tried and liked as far as it went, but it struck me so much was built for people who actually knew and had already played either miriani or star conquest, I found a lot a bit impenitrable. For example no way to examine items in shops before buying to tell what they did, a random thing where you weren't allowed to speak without using one set item in a location etc. The activities I tried, namely salvaging and tr
ash collecting were interesting enough as far as they went, but I didn't even see! anything to fight or any real reason to explore or the like, there were no missions, no quests, no clear objectives, or at least if there were I had no idea where to find them without spamming the channels with requests for advice. Star Conquest I liked much more in terms of feeling like it had a propper direction and actual activities, as well as a seemingly more coherent world, however the actual systems I just found frustrating, since after four hours of play I'd lost two spaceships due to spammy combat, lost my attack suit due to a misjudgement,   couldn't take out a lone and was basically told "go beg from your alliance" which didn't help. the fact space combat seemed so ridiculously spammy it was literally impossible to react quickly enough was just plane annoying! I actually feel a bit sad about this. I loved the ethos, descriptions,
quests etc with star conquest, even the need for an rp profile was okay, but why the hell is the game so bloody unforgiving? especially when the deaths were primarily due to spam. Sorry if that sounds like a winj but I don't like playing a great game for four solid hours and arriving worse off than when I started with literally no way to progress. Then again, all of this will have to wait a little sinse I'm a trifle busy this weekend and probably can't take on a new game, heck I've had to abandon popmundo though I might go and play some more alter to pass some time.

@Dark,If my past self met me by some fluke of time reversal, it'd tell me never to have children.  Do you want to know what the hardest part of dealing with children is?  Adults!  Everyone and their stupid knows how to raise kids better than you, even if they're supposed to be your kids!  How many people have I already had come up to me and ask me if I was a capable parent in any number of ways?  Because I'm blind?  Because I'm hearing impaired?  Because it's my first time ever having to deal with a child 24/ 7?  Because I'm not yet 30?  Because I eat Flaming Hot Chetos and I might forget to wash my hands and rub the powder into the baby's eyes?  I honestly don't know how many... I gave up counting before I got out of the hospital, right after she was born. And that's not even getting into the daily basis stuff.  Baby wants to nap?  Too bad; there's adults aroun
d acting more like idiots than she is who just, can't get it through their skulls that the baby wants to nap.  Make mention of it and it's, "Put her down, we don't mind, we'll just carry on our business and never mind if it's loud and she just can't get comfortable."  Baby wants to crawl?  Well, lets make sure there isn't any objects she can get hurt on around here we ourselves didn't leave on the ground.  Baby wants to cry?  "That's a no-no!  You can't just let her do that!  Look at her, her face is turning red from all that crying!  You're abusive!  Shame on you!  How does it not bother you!  You're going to get child protective services called in and they're going to take her away!  Look, get her a bottle at least!  Never mind that she spewed milk out a little less than ten minutes ago!  She can't go on like that!  It'
;s miserable!"  If we continue on this collision course as we no doubt must, she'll end up like every other bratty kid I know because spoilage, and then, that's our fault, too!Ah well, nuff about my complaining.  Having spent one week at an NFB center, I can honestly say I'd never want to go back for any extended amount of time.  While all of them may not require that one follows precisely the same plan, I've heard enough stories from other people who have gone to them and have seen the way they themselves turned out to draw my final conclusions.  Maybe you'll be forced to wear a blindfold, even if you're able to prove that you're totally blind.  Maybe you'll be required to use a particular kind of cane, which I personally believe is so flimsy that all its good for is swinging around and making fun swooshing noises with.  Maybe you'll board talking buses and travel to talking ATM's to dispose
of whatever money you get there into talking automated self checkout stations at talking Walmarts, because that's like, all realistic in the real world that's actually real reality with realism.  You'll cook on marked electric ovens and measure out with carefully selected tactle cups and spoons.  You'll walk into a computer room where every machine has JAWS and at least one functional FS braille display.  And you'll like it!The problem I have with cosmic Rage and games like it is how unoriginal they really are.  This new one actually advertises itself as a Prometheus clone and does nothing to hide that fact whatsoever; even the alliance system is the same one Prom originally had, assuming it doesn't anymore.  You're either Miriani, SC, or some crazy variation on all of that.  I'd like to change that... Eventually.

Re: Redspot, blood and paril. First public beta released!

Hi, Well, I know I posted earlier that you may be better off taking the game down until you can figure things out, and as much as I enjoy playing redspot, I'll have to stick to what I said. We all know that you're only one person so obviously working at two games at the same time is not easy, so perhaps keep it down for the moment, enjoy the time with your friend and get back to the game whenever you feel you have to. It's free, after all, so I don't think we can really complain all that much. The game has some issues that effect it's credibility and it needs a lot of work, but there is no time limit on that. So, enjoy the time away from it and I hope you can come back refreshed and with ideas at some later stage.

Hi. The game is still available to download from This page or to play in a web browser (though how accessible the browser version is I don't know), and there is also flexible societies, the resource management game, and a prequel available. So lots of choice even if you don't fancy the mud. hth.

Also most of the buttons are labeled in a way that isn't accessible to screen readers, the only description you get is "button" or "button 4", not very helpful. If Brother doesn't seem very open to making the whole printer, both hardware and software, accessible, this printer will be returned.

Hello, i guess that i put my contrivution there because i posted something about the speed hack fix. Well, it is frustrating to us, we , being a majority or minority i don't personally care. But really it is frustrating that you got a "speed hack detected" message in the middle of the game and you as a result get kicked out. Other than that, i've been reading a little of the entire messages and well... What i can tell its something that surely someone would agree. Just do what you feel. I do want redspot to get back, i had fun while it lasted... Just got to leave it because of that "speed hack detected", but i understand that you are only a person and as a result you aren't perfect... That happens nomatter how many tested the fix, how many weren't kicked... Always, allways, you'll find bugs. The thing its if you want (or not), to fix them. I am not a programmer, i tried to program something in bgt when it was just been releaced as a bet
a version and i never could achieve something... But i did understood that its sometimes not, easy.So good luck whatever you decide but, you have my thums up to get redspot back. Personally i dont really care how you should mannage it, having an admin team could help but... I dont really know... To my understanding that works but only if you have certain people to thrust... And that's not allways the case and furthermore (i speak beyound this point on my own experience). Some dudes who you trhust kick you in the back... Or simply they don't do what they must. So its all up to you, and enjoi the relax.

Re: Why don't you like multi-player games?

2016-07-02 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : Dark via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Why don't you like multi-player games?

@Sneak, I'd love to alpha test, though the problem currently is I'm getting married tomorrow so gaming is fairly low on the radar at the second. If you have something later on, let me know.I can see the logic for a game where players do things like control the cities and economy and have wars that change the balance of power in the game world and such, my problem with that sort of thing is that it just doesn't interest me. Being told that I'm suddenly on team so and so and should grind or fight other players or whatever for that team is just not my mentality, if I play an rpg, I! like to be the hero carrying out deeds and quests and doing rescues and such, not just another footsoldier in a larger war who's principle players are life committed ones who've been playing far longer than I have and with whom I have no hope of catching up in character development terms. This is why I always tend to play  online games as if th
ey were! single player. For example, in Avalon I got stuck and wound up giving up because I had to choose a guild, and then recieve quests from other players. I'm not that interested! in being part of a guild, or upholding the traditions of the sorcereres or whatever, I'd rather just learn about the game and have fun, indeed the part of Avalon I enjoyed most was the automated newbie school, I now don't know what to do next so wound up giving up.The one exception was core exiles, and that was primarily because you didn't so much as roleplay as just talk to everyone else about progress, economically  trade with each other or the like, eg, if I wanted an item crafting I could just ask someone to make one for me if I provided the resources, but for most of the time I was off exploring and mining and what not etc myself. One other aspect of online games I will mention as a major turn off goes on from what Conner says about grinding. procedurally gen
erated content really! helps with activities based on crafting, resources etc. For quests and single player missions and such, I love actual scripted quests which feel like a single player rpg story (the lifestone quest on Kordan on Alter rocked!), but or things like crafting, jobs, mining etc, it is better if the system is dynamic enough to require the player's input and judgement, and also if the system rewards players sufficiently each 10 minutes or so to keep people going, with either random encounters or events that require some degree of judgement, or random loot that is the same. Thus for example, in a mining system, hav mining be a little more than just one click or hit enter "mine!" system, eg, surveying, exploring, looking for different ores, perhaps being attacked by monsters, and finding different things, then having to  actually mine with a little more than just hitting one button.Clok actually did a good job with this, accept for
the stupidity of not being able to hold a light source and pull a mine cart with both hands, thus meaning far too needless juggling.Grinding also applies to combat as well, as does some degree of random generation, since the more possibilitiy of good results and the less static the activities, the more it will hold a player's interest.

Re: Why don't you like multi-player games?

For me it usually comes back to bad management.Turns out, most game devs have no idea how to properly moderate a multiplayer game, but they still jump in with both feet, expecting it all to just turn out fine in the end.Well, surprise! it almost never does, and as a result the game often dies within the year and is promptly forgotten about a few years after that.I've seen allot in the past 5 or 6 years or so, like admins that don't react to simple problems in the way that the average person would, who often turn out to be mentally unstable or have constant chaos at home, E.G. freezing up completely when they have to act on their own in a basic matter, or taking light sarcasm or playful jabs very personally, then still holding a grudge later on because of it.And it seems like there are an inordinate amount of people like that here for such a small community as well, which is probably also why it's so difficult to find those
who can actually do the job correctly in the first place. Then you have the micromanaging yet entirely socially inept devs, who often attempt to mediate when it isn't necessary, and constantly step on the toes of the people that they specifically asked for help from in the first place. Some even go so far in their abuse of power as to take away special items and experience points, or to arbitrarily decide to freeze players so they can't do anything in the game for several minutes, which they don't seem to understand counteracts the point of playing their game in the first place, since obviously mistreated people will tell their friends to avoid it...There is also often a lack of solid, easy to understand rules to follow for both admins and players, or those that have been put forth are far too general and up for interpretation by who ever happens to be around that particular day, but even if something is verbally changed, it's usually not
updated in writing, and has to rely on word of mouth to spread.I also often see that top level players, admins, and X beta testers tend to get preferential treatment, even if they don't do anything to deserve it, which can range from trusting their word over another player's, even if that other player has given no indication that they are not to be trusted, special zones that can only be accessed by certain people, which can often have more content than the actual playing area but aren't rolled out to the masses for what ever reason even if they are completely free of bugs, policy violations being overlooked or any punishment related to breaking a rule being much decreased compared to that of a normal player, and no oversight by other admins in order to keep others with special powers from abusing them.I could go on and talk about specific incidents, or lesser issues such as admins who never do their part or are often absent being left on the team,
but really it comes down to knowing when to step back, shut the hell up and delegate, how to pick the right people before hand, even if you have to skip over some of your friends to do it, to hold experienced players and staff to the same set of standards as everyone else, and when to grow a pair and just shut something your not sure about right the fuck down when you and the people causing the problem are the only ones who think you shouldn't.If you want examples of what not to do, just look at Consta Ranta AKA Jack Brooks, the creator of Prometheus Moo, Mason armstrong, AKA Ultrocity, Soundworx, MTG studios ETC, the creator of Ultra Power, Danny Standley, head programmer of the now defunct reality software and creator of Death Match (a new beginning), and Sam Tupy, creator of Survive the wild. And while I feel no guilt in calling these people out for what they've done, since they are very prominent  figures in our community, who not only cho
se to be publicly involved but also to make multiplayer games when they clearly weren't ready to do so, I do feel that I should point out that one or two of them have seemingly learned from their mistakes, all be it after several preventable failures, though only time will tell how long that remains the case, and that all of them, without exception, are intelligent, creative, and highly skilled people who can do and have done amazing things when they put their minds to it.That said how ever, when a multiplayer game is done right, or even mostly right, it can be an amazing experience for all involved, one that you can clearly see impacting peoples lives in the poetry and fan fiction written about them, the friendships forged and loves found, the  spontaneous player run events, and the heartfelt sadness when a long standing fantasy world finally ceases to exist.Good examples of this are Alteraeon, Aardwolf, and Swamp, which even despite their problems will
be remembered by many for a long time after they are gone.

Re: reducing lag in a bgt game?

As Lukas said, you should have exactly one wait() call per cycle of your main game loop. In addition, here are a few other things that may or may not help you, depending on the design of your game:Turn off sounds that are too far away from the player to be heard. The sound_pool class can take care of this for you, but if your game doesn't use that you'll have to handle this yourself.Load your sounds instead of streaming. Streaming is fine for music and things which interrupt gameplay like cutscenes, but don't stream enemy sounds, footsteps, or anything else you plan to play frequently.Use the preload feature. If you load a sound in to memory and keep the object alive, the next time you load a sound object with the same sound it'll be loaded from a copy of the original sound in memory instead of reading and decoding the file from disk again.Limit the amount of work you do with strings. Strings can be very slow. When entities in your game
must be identified by name, use constants instead of string names. You could also try reducing the frequency at which you loop through enemies to only the maximum frequency at which the enemies are allowed to act/move. For instance, if your fastest enemy moves once every 200 milliseconds, then there's no need to loop through them on every main loop cycle as most of the time none of them will be allowed to act anyway.Profiler results can be very helpful as they can tell you which parts of your code the cpu is spending most of it's time on.Lastly, speed is sadly not BGT's strongpoint. You won't get as much performance out of it as you might get from native code that doesn't run in a VM. Angel Script has been optimized further, but BGT is built using quite an old version. 60 + enemies on a computer with the specs you describe might simply be hoping for too much.

Re: Why don't you like multi-player games?

I enjoy playing multiplayer games with friends using a local network. But I was turned off on online multiplayer games by the bad behavior of the other players. In one text based game, the game starter kept sending messages one character at a time, causing what was on the screen to be scrolled off quickly. I could see back then, but my vision was limited so it took me a little longer than most people to read what was on the screen to make my move, with the game starter causing everything to scroll off the screen bbefore I could read it, I had to keep telling the game to redisplay it, this of course took time, eventually the game starter kicked me out of the game because I was taking too much time to make my moves even though it was his actions that was the problem. After that, I decided that if that was the kind of crap I could expect in online multiplayer games, I'd be happy playing single player offline games, and idiots like that guy could go )#($*)[ a-t ]#*(&%R
themselves. I didn't need that crap in my life and definitely not when I'm trying to have some fun.So for me, I like playing multiplayer games with friends on a LAN, not with just anybody over the internet.

I can't speak specifically since I've not been in Britain since the referendum. Are there racist arse holes in britain? yes, definitely, though I don't think many other countries can say any worse. Whether the referendum has encouraged more of said racist arse holes to show their own colours, or whether it is just that more of these incidents are now being reported to the media I don't know, it could be either. One thing I will say is that the reported areas mentioned in the article, inner city London and sheffield are known to be not exactly the most pleasant parts of the country anyway, that would be like someone going to America and saying the country was awash with crime and gang violence due to what happens in New York and Los Angeles. For the first time ever I find myself agreeing with nigel farage, at least as far as the "brexit wasn't about racism" business, though his attempt to turn this back on the pro
europe campaign is a bit blatant. i personally hope this is primarily media based hype, particularly since in a few weeks I'll myself be going back to Britain with an American wife.

I made it to have fun with, to give you guys some
fun, and all I get is criticism for taking a break with friends. Keep in mind i'm just saying what i'm thinking right now, if I wanted to, I could probably be much more profetional. I really thank those of you who actually understand what's going on. I'm not going to let your guyses pissyness ruin me or whatever, but if you guys can get pissed off sometimes, well, I can to, and that's exactly what i'm doing. So, howabout for the next 15 days, instead of shitting on my non abilities as a human being, howabout you work on making sure i'm motivated to bring redspot back up once my friend leaves. Apparently, i'm to irresponsible to be hosting 2 games. Well, I make them for your guyses enjoyment, so if you can't apreciate that, then i'll just stop redspot. Hopefully that'll make you all happy. If you guys wanna change my mind, feel free to by the 17th. I know it's just as hard for you to understand my point of view as it is for
me to understand yours, but you should at least understand that I am a human, and that I have a life away from the computer. I said it on the stw message of the day, twitter, etc etc etc. Message of the day: Hi guys it's Sam. I just wanted to let you know that until roughly july 17th, I will be very inactive. I will read some chats, if the game get's hacked i'll fix it, but I will have very slow response time etc until then, so don't expect me to be around much, it will, until that time be a bit of a rarity to see me unless me and my friend decide to play stw for a while, which is the reason for my inactivity. He is leaving on the 16th of july. If you have any things that absolutely needs my attension, tell me now. He arives on the first. Well, it's now the second. So if you didn't know, you do now. Anyway, based on weather you guys actually want redspot to exist, i'll decide weather to keep it, or not. I know you want a huge redspot admin team and
this fix and the hole speedhack thing completely gone, I do to, but most of the people who say that are either over excited, or have never written even a simple hello world script in there life. So, anyway, the choice is yours. I made these games for your guyses enjoyment, I have my human limits, so it's up to you. Should I keep redspot? Or not. And none of this I need to be responsible crap, I get that i'm hosting 2 games, but i'm not doing it for my self, and redspot is completely free. I'm doing it just for you guys. Hell, I hardly ever go on that game anymore. So yeah, what do you guys want.

Re: Curious about reasons for Brexit

From what I've read it sounds like there's a lot of xenophobic sentiment in the UK. But I know the media does tend to exaggerate, so it might not be very accurate. For example, this article (I'll paste the article underneath the URL):http://www.news24.com/World/News/intole … n-20160628Intolerant acts surge as Brexit referendum result sinks inLondon - An Eastern European family in Rugby finds dog excrement shoved through its mailbox. A Londoner nearly gets into a fight over drunken slurs shouted on a crowded subway car. A Polish teenager in Gloucestershire is taunted with threats of deportation at her high school. In the wake of last Thursday's vote to leave the European Union, Britain has seen a surge in xenophobia expressed in taunts, threats and worse. For many, foreign- and native-born, the UK has suddenly become much scarier place."Before Friday we lived in a tolerant society," said Oana Gorcea, a 32-year-old Romanian who has lived in Britain since she was a teenager. "I've been here 13 years, but I've never felt like I had to hide where I came from. But from Friday, things completely changed."Gorcea, who works for a multinational company in Rugby, about 135km northwest of London, said her street was being patrolled by "English commandos who walk around and try to intimidate non-white non-English people". The talk of the neighbourhood was the dog faeces shoved through a local immigrant family's mailbox.57% rise in hate crime complaintsGorcea's story and others like it have been echoing across social media for days. Eastern Europeans, Muslims — even Americans and Germans — have reported acts of intimidation and harassment. Victims describe an emboldened angry fringe emerging to crow over Thursday's vote; a T-shirt sported by a man at an Armed Forces Day parade in the working class London borough of Havering over the weekend seemed to sum up the new attitude: "YES! WE WON! NOW SEND THEM BACK."British reporters across the country have seen the resurgence of racism up close and personal. Adam Boulton, a presenter for Britain's Sky News, posted a message to Twitter saying he and his family had witnessed three separate incidents of when-are-you-going-home?-style abuse aimed at Europeans over the weekend. Channel Four's Ciaran Jenkins said that within a five-minute span in the northern England town of Barnsley, three people had shouted "Send them home!" BBC reporter Sima Kotecha said that she was in "utter shock" after having returned home to the southern England town of Basingstoke and been abused with a racial slur she hadn't heard "since the 80s."Police are investigating vandalism at a Polish cultural centre in west London and incidents in Cambridgeshire in which cards were given to Polish residents calling them "vermin" and ordering them to leave the country. The National Police Chiefs' Council said there had been a 57% rise in hate crime complaints in the past four days compared to the same period last month.Britain's sizeable Muslim community has also found itself caught up in the anti-immigrant backlash. Miqdaad Versi, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said that "hundreds of hate crimes" had been reported across the country."The type of language that has been used, like 'go back to your own country,' 'we voted this way, now you have to get out,' that type of language indicates there is some sort of link" to the referendum, he said.'Open season for racism and xenophobia' Those who championed the campaign to pull Britain from the EU have condemned the attacks."I've never, ever, ever encouraged or condoned behaviour like that, and I never, ever would," said United Kingdom Independence Party leader Nigel Farage, before adding that "the real prejudice is the prejudice that's been there for a decade or more against anybody that dares stand up against the establishment, anybody that dares to say that we shouldn't be part of the EU".Other politicians didn't buy it."The leaders of the Brexit campaign have engendered an atmosphere where some people believe it is open season now for racism and xenophobia," said lawmaker Harriet Harman, a former leader of the opposition Labour Party. For the victims, the link between the referendum and the abuse is clear. Immigration was a key issue in the campaign, with Farage posing in front of a massive, truck-drawn poster carrying a photograph of hundreds of swarthy migrants under the words "Breaking Point." Many "leave" voters cited the influx of foreigners as a top concern."Just because of one referendum ... it's coming out like woodworms," said Julie Sauter Daoud, a French-German national who has lived in Britain most of her life. On Sunday she got a firsthand encounter with xenophobia when two men overtook her car shouting, "Go home, you (expletive) German."She said the attack, which happened while she was driving down a residential street in the northern English city of Sheffield, left her so shaken

These have been great so far, keep them coming. So far it seems that the main structure of my game will suit your tastes, though I suppose we won't know for certain until you've had a chance to play it. I am keeping my alpha team to a small focused group. I only offered Dark a spot because his opinion matched my own, and so is more likely to keep me on track of what the over all outline is suppose to avoid. There isn't much to test at the moment, or rather there isn't a lot that needs to be tested, because most of it is just making sure it's working as intended. The balancing and what not will take place on the beta release, which isn't going to be for some time I think. Towards the end I'll probably open it up for some people to try out and offer suggestions. For now though, I still have to get all of my own ideas onto the canvas as it were.

I enjoy two-player games or the ability to play within a circle of people I know, but I have no interest in anything more than that. Reason being bad sportsmanship. People who are going to get salty about a game and then come post a topic on the forums such as "I was banned unfairly" or "So and so is cheating" or "Someone hacked me" which ends up turning in to ten pages of hate and drama... no thank you.I like single player RPGs. I enjoy going through that long and difficult dungeon in anticipation of the next cutscene and finding out what happens next.

hello sneak, I'd love to test your game. I am actually a large fan of multyplayer games, but the ones I don't enjoy are huge grinders where you see something like "join us now for an immersive and rewarding game where you can take part in 20 different activities and partake in pvp in 16 different ways!" most of the time those 20 "activities" are coded once, then coppied 19 times and simply have some small areas of the code or names modified to make it seem like something else. Also those games usually have long wait times or you take for ever to rraise a level in anything. An example for this type of game would be the avengers.

For example, an audio game that requires professional voice act. I know that professional voice acting costs a horrible amount of money. Then, how can a single developer makes that horrible payment? The gate is the case I'm talking about, and Aron Baker is the only person who develops and manages the gate. The gate is paid and it is 30 dollars. But what if the voice acting costs 2000 dollars? Then how would he cover that? Almost all audio games were made by a single person or small teams, not large companies. But mainstream games are often developed and maintained by companies like Blizard entertainment, and such a large company can provide more money to developers, But audio games are different. And blind gamers can play audio games, only audio games. Most mainstream games, about 80 percent of
mainstream games are completely inaccessible to blind players. I want a mainstream game companies to add an accessibility mode that allows blind players to play mainstream games without sighted person's help. My dream about gaming is, as a blind player, I wanna play a mainstream game with sited people using accessibility mode.see my last 2 posts.

@Sneak, go ahead and add me to your testing folder. Email is ethinwool...@hotmail.com.The reason I don't like some multi-player games is because they are two strict on their rules (e.g.: roleplay) and don't consider the fact that not everyone wishes to roleplay. I also like games that are dynamic and change over time as characters change and act. It does keep the developers busy, but it certainly adds an aspect to the game that you wouldn't usually find on other MOOs, MUDs, MMORPGs, etc.

Hi,JAWS has native support for VS2010, but I wouldn't recommend using VS at all due to the fact that it makes it harder to port your apps to other platforms. If you use GCC, porting your apps between Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux is a breeze. (GCC is also supported by hundreds of thousands of more developers than VS is.)

And its going to be an off-top
ic now, but I have a serious question, if develop an audio game as a single developer, how can we deal with money problems? Most mainstream games, about 80 percent of mainstream games are completely inaccessible to blind players.
I want a mainstream game companies to add an accessibility mode that allows blind players to play mainstream games without sighted person's help. My dream about gaming is, as a blind player, I wanna play a mainstream game with sited people using accessibility mode.
