Re: Survive the Wild!

Ok, ok, time to step in again and end this stupid mess. Seriously guys. Hate to say it, but ronald is just another trol. Everybody knows what he's done in the passed. Before I admitedly controdict my self here, I will too put my own 2 sence. Ronald, you said you had hard problems. Howabout to go to the docter and get those resolved before complaining about something you know nothing about. Amine and hamata? They have done nothing, wrong. They are actually very cool people. And another thing. I never say iranions are cheaters. It is hard though. I never say it in terms of country. I have scene many good iranions in my time as well as bad ones. I've also scene many bad americans, some really bad romanions, some really bad indians who sit at there computer all day trying to scam for money, but that doesn't mean I hate the country. Everybody has a heart. If I ever say the iranion cheaters, I mean your group of friends, mister ronald. You, alareeza, mahadee or how ever y
ou spell it, etc. Not your country, so stop trying to say i'm being rasist, because i'm not and it's not gaining you any leverage. And yes, maybe stw is not your type of game. STW is meant for people who like exploring, hunting, and creativity. And those are going to be the final words in that descussion. From now on, to the people that will just ignore ronald, props to you for not involving your self. Reply about something totally different, just act as if his post wasn't there. Anyone can express there opinions on the forum. But once it comes to pointing fingers at a said indivisual with out any proof of what an indivisual did, it's not an opinion anymore, it's hate. If you have proof that amine is flattering, show it, we'll look and listen. But until ronald shows proof that was not made up, guys, come on, just ignore him. It really isn't that hard. I know we all wanna angrily reply and tell him how many things are wrong with his post, but w
hy bother. Just look back in this topic, at all the times ware people have replied to some random troll. You guys know this is what ronald wants, right? Atention? A big argument? So quit making him smile every time he visits the topic. He doesn't deserve a tension, so god guys, just don't give it to him. With that out of the way, other knews. I may have to change the stw motd because I don't know how long this store is going to take to recode entirely. I am working on it, but I just don't know, and can't promise. So keep those DFC's handy and don't do anything stupid! also considering the next client update, with ambiences and footsteps galore to help with creations of more maps and quests for everybody! Wilderness/map/quest suggestions? Please share!

Re: Braille Note Touch

Finnturner, that's what I thought. Question is, would it work on a mac system as well, being unix based? And as for the old version of Android, that's something I'm dealing with personally. Security patches will still come in for Kitkat. Google is not Microsoft, they don't toss old operating systems, if they did well then would you still see every single version of android is the sdk? Probably not. That's why a lot of common apps still work on Kitkat. Responsible android developers will test the app on many versions of Android and many different configurations if they can, because, for the record, there are still *some* devices around that are still running outdated versions of Android. If Google themselves thought that Kitkat was a bad idea, they would've made it clear to Humanware that it would be. Kitkat is still a very stable platform to build on. Cyanogen Mod was at its peak in Kitkat, especially with features. Now it seems like just added fluff
apart from a few nice features that I still find value in.

Hm, never played around with either of those, though been tempted by Kivy for awhile now. It seems both libraries need to be compiled with MinGW before they can be used, requiring a few extra steps and dependancies as a result. I'm assuming your using windows, what version of Python are you using? For Kivy the full install instruction steps are [here], it seems there's a known compiler bug for Python 3.5 however that may cause some problems. For Box2D, you may want to get the python version pybox2d [here]. Its install instructions and dependancies are included in the INSTALL.md file which you can read [here] on its github repository.

Yes my accessible video games act is sadly a dream that will never happen. How hard would it have it been for Harry Potter to tell me where to go instead of repeating I think we need to go to the barn 50 million times in a row? haha If the gov really cared though every single one of us would have a personal driver to take us where ever we wanted when ever we wanted. I can't wait untill I get my driverless car!Braille money would be good although it would get worn off so why not have different sized bills? I never had a problem yet with knowing what my money is because I fold it and check it before I go out but there are times where you get change back and are unsure what is what. Braille on everything would be cool if it was non removable another idea would be for a store app. This app could have different stores in it like a database and you could virtually use the app to see what items a store carried. Either by swiping along the isles or by category. Now this
would not be 100% as stores are set up differently and not all stores under the same company carry the same thing but it would help give you an idea. I don't even know how this could work with clothing but with things like food, and other products I could see something like this working.

Re: something I've been noticing: a problem

Sadly it sounds like you're pretty well out of options. If the game is bugged and just crashes, and the developer is unreachable you might just have to cut your losses. Try installing the runtime libraries from Jim Kitchen's website. Try to find the specific versions of the libraries as suggested by your game's manual. If your efforts don't pay off then you might be stuck. This is a sad reality when it comes to computer programs; if they aren't being maintained they get left in the dust and die.

Re: The audiogames that make you go alas!

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know where I can get the Unseen Alpha Missions (aura) game? I tried it when I was like 13 I think, which was 10 years ago... couldn't really get the hang of it, but I want to try it again. But I haven't found it lately. I know there probably isn't much to it, but I'm still curious about it. For some reason it reminded me of Space Colony Cleaner with the sort of 8 bit 22K sound, and if I remember right there was some bubbling sounds that sounded like the acid in that game... but that was a long time ago and is just one of my strange geeky observations that by now has very little basis I'm sure. LolAs for games that I thought could've been made into more. I'd have to say Technoshock is one of them. I'm one of the few people who hacked it out and beat the game. Not without cheat codes and a lot of help on the Technoshock topic mind you, but I beat the game twice. It's one of the most brutal audio g
ames I have ever played, and could've really turned into something remarkable had the mechanics been less clunky.I also think Hunter and Tarzan Junior could've turned into a lot more as well. I remember when I purchased Hunter, I was just turning 12. I used to record stupid reviews of audiogames on cassette, just holding my cheap recorder up to the speaker and trying to shout over it... don't even ask for the recordings as I deleted most of them, but when I figured out how to play the Hunter demo levels I did record them and tried to explain them. Then my mom purchased the game for me. After a few days I got the hang of the other 6 levels and within a few weeks I had beaten the game on easy. Now with that said, it is damn hard to beat the game on higher difficulties. I can beat Troop2 on insane with the baby black hole mission. I can beat pipe2 on insane. I can beat Classic Troop and occasionally Classic Pipe on insane as well. But I can't beat Hunter on no
rmal. So maybe replay value comes in to account for the $35 we paid for the game, but still. After a short time even at 12 I felt the game was lacking some substance, and it was one of the most complex games I'd played until that point.Tarzan Junior was a bit better, though after about an hour after purchase I felt similarly, that the game was a little shallow. By that point I was 14, and had been playing with stuff like Monkey Business and SOD, both of which I didn't understand at all and still struggle with sometimes. So TJ was a sort of break from that but still wasn't enough to really keep me entertained.Don't get me wrong, I am not saying these were bad games at all, just that I wished more had been made out of them, which is the intent of this topic. I think the topic idea is a great one.I could also add Super Liam to the list. I again purchased it when I was 12 or so, and while it took me over a full month to actually beat it, I found mys
elf wanting more than a handful of cheat codes. Super Liam 2 has been in the works for ages now, not sure quite how I'll feel about it if it's ever released, since there's something about the non-platforming side scrollers that I actually like. I actually like The Gate for sticking to traditional things, though if it had more enemies like the BK series which are more terrifying, that would make even a 1d scroller even better. I won't even talk about The Gate in this topic, as it's been bashed to death about 500 times over in other places. But yes, I think it needs much more content to justify the long playing time. Or cut the levels shorter so that I can beat it in an hour or so instead of 3.

I again purchased it when I was 12 or so, and while it took me over a full month to actually beat it, I found myself want
ing more than a handful of cheat codes.

Re: The audiogames that make you go alas!

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know where I can get the Unseen Alpha Missions game? It's one of the most brutal audio games I
have ever played, and could've really turned into something remarkable had the mechanics been less clunky.I also think Hunter and Tarzan Junior could've turned into a lot more as well. I can beat both Classic Troop and Classic Pipe on insane as well. But I can't beat Hunter on normal. So maybe
replay value comes in to account for the $35 we paid for the game, but still. After a short time even at 12 I felt the game was lacking some substance, and it was one of the most complex games I'd played until that point.Tarzan Junior was a bit better, though after about an hour after purchase I felt similarly, that the game was a little shallow. Re: Playing Entombed

Blaming me for my problems with the game is similarly pointless, as I said in a previous message, I've played and beaten plenty of RPGs before, so it's not that I don't know how to play them or lack experience. So unless there's some special trick that I haven't yet discovered, I doubt the way I play the game is the problem. Especially when you consider that I have no real problems with the first four levels.Level five? It could be level six, I'm not really sure, it's been many months since I last played and some details are foggy. There are times, such as when a limb gets cut off, where resting alone will not completely heal the character, for those cases you have to use a healing potion or scroll to reattach the limb, then you can use resting to finish the healing.Yes, I know about needing to save the skill point assignments, and I do save them. With everyone's insistence that it's not the game, a
ll I can conclude is that there is some special trick or method of play that I'm not getting, and with that in mind, I don't see that there is any real point to continuing to play this game.I also believe, that such special tricks or methods shouldn't be necessary to win, that they apparently are is proof, in my mind, that the game is unbalanced or flawed.

Re: VGStorm Presents Manamon, a new fully featured RPG!

Vulnerability Oblivion is basically just Vulnerability Scan but for multiple targets, and maybe powered up a bit. I say we just make Vulnerability Scn 60 poweror even 70, instead of the 40 it is right now. Because 40 power is usually less damage than you'd do with your own moes.Yeah, Eagawk transforms at 39. And BTW, Cyclone Claw is actually pretty decent. Eagala's line is frail as hell (Owlaw is a trifle more defensive but a loss directly threatening) but Eagala's line hits like a truck at higher levels. I'm going to do a sorta side-by-side look at the two birds at some point. The amount of manamon that are overlevelled and haven't transformed is kind of staggering. Mabe there's some hidden way to stop a transformation, but if so, I haven't found it, and I don't think the manual mentions it.

Perilous Hearts is my type of game because I like side scrollers both 1d and 2d, and I like adventures especially when they happen in a forest full of animals. Every time when I play this game I can imagine myself in a middle of the jungle surrounded by lots of monkeys, and I like this feeling. It has nice sound fx and interesting AI implementation, and it would be on my top 5 of audiogames if it's ever released.BK3 is my next favorite game, because I've played it for almost 6 months. And if we talk about good old audiogames, I always liked playing all comertial BSCGames titles, as well as GMA's Shades of Doom.If we talk about mobile platforms, I enjoy playing A Blind Legend, especially if we take the fact that this was my first ever played game with 3d sound.I know that people here who are also playing mainstream games may be wouldn't agree with some of my personal tastes, but sorry, I haven't played any mainstream game in my life,
and according to quite bad situation on the audio game scene, for me at least is unfair to compare audiogames with mainstream ones. But of course, this is just my opinion not just from a user standpoint, but also from a developer standpoint.

Even better would be to get the attention of the politicians, but the only thing they care about is themselves. A vote for anyone else is beneath their radar.

If the labels were non-removable, then I could actually see some use for such a system, especially if you ever get stuck in the unfortunate situation where a store employee who's supposed to be helping you is either clueless about what you're asking for, or doesn't speak English well enough to understand what you need help with. While I've never encountered the latter situation, I've known people who have, and it sounds absolutely hellish.

Re: OT: Labeling Millions of People

One of the things that may get a few mixed up when it comes to the voting process here in the USA is that fact that we are not exactly voting directly for the president. What we are doing instead is telling the state that we live in who to vote for. Each state have a set number of delegates of whom vote on the behalf of the inhabitants of the state that they represent. The number of delegates per state is set on the number of people that live in that state. The process over is per say, set up to have a clear winner. Even fewer realize what would happen if we get like three people with the same amount of votes in the end. What would happen in this case is that it would get thrown to the house of representatives. Not too sure what it is called over there in the UK. I do believe it might be the house of commons, or something like that. Trust me, that hasn’t really been seen for over an hundred years if my memory serves right. Anyway, the process is to make sure we have someone in office. Now, as for the things that both sides are saying, we should remember that neither can do what the congress and the courts do not allow them to do. That seems to be amusingly forgotten for some reason. Now for the education thing and or thing where you set through everyone’s one hour speech before voting, Sounds like an good idea at first, but is it worth going through the trouble of making that change to our voting process. A change like that, as far as I know, requires two thirds of the States in the USA to even bring it up and three fourths to make that change stick. Anyway, figure I will bring this up instead of stating who I am planning on voting for. In the end, I might be so fed up that I vote for myself. LOL.

Re: Playing Entombed

Hello,I have to agree with Dark. While the game does have some bugs and balancing issues, it is certainly playable. You can avoid the goblin king by choosing the old mine works when going to floor 5. When you accept quests, try to avoid ones with 3 named enemies. I believe if it says is creating an unstoppable force means that all enemies will be named which can be very tricky. You may also want to pay attention to the messages that say you think this quest could be dangerous or very dangerous. Those refer to the level of the enemies. Try accepting quests that give the dangerous or no message at all. Remember that you can load your game and check the tavern for a different set of quests. The game will randomly choose quests upon every load f your save. You really shouldn't be having issues until the Drake on the 7th floor. My best advice for that is to simply skip it if you can and go down. The drake should be on floor 15 IMHO. I don't know why Jason thought putti
ng that kind of boss on a low level was a good idea. Speaking of Jason, what's happened to him? I know he was talking about Entombed 2 last year, but he seems to have gone silent once again.

I don't recall anything with chainsaws in extant, and it was more a tech demo than a game but it was a cool idea. basically it was an fps type game but with a neet twist, that there were no walls. So you just walked in a streight line around a sphere and would eventually get back to wherever you came from, this made stuff rather easy to find. it hadgreat monsters and sound and was an attempt to create an audiogame in unity, made in fact by Sander and richard our beloved webmasters. Actually while we're talking about games that should be developed more that is one which definitely ought to be on the list since the sounds and mechanics were awesome and very different to anything seen before, it just needed more enemies and weapons and places to go on the map.

For myself, since with my level of vision I did grow up playing 8 and 16 bit era games, i find the process in modern graphical ones a little too frustrating if I can't for example see where my character is relative to the background, and 3D stuff tends to be wy too confusing, indeed it was the  replacement of the gba which I cou8ld play thanks to the gamecube gba player addon with the ds and it's small screens that prompted me to start looking around for audiogames in the  first place back in 2005. I still have a snes and mega drive and a number of classic games that I still play, as well as the occasional 16 bit style pc title.Still, if you find the methods of memorization and such with mainstream games to be within the level of patience feel free to give it a try.

You will most likely need to practice memorizing menus because that is a thing sighted people don't do, so it might not be easy at first. MKX has great audio which gives you a good idea where you are on the stage, I have played my brother, and my neighbor at MKX, they are both sighted and won more than I lost. I did have trouble with injustice, don't know why.

Re: If The Gov Cared About Disabled People

Yeah, I agree Braille on banknotes could actually help a lot. It would eliminate the need for all the various mechanical recognition devices. That's good to know about the US money. I haven't seen any yet and it sounds pretty bad. :-)Fortunately, here in the Czech Republic the coins all have different edges and notes are different sizes. Not enough to tell the two closest ones apart just by touch but by using the mechanical sort of recognizer that's hard to describe, it works fine. Basically, there is a rim at the device that splits it into a bottom and a top half. You put the note below the bottom half and it goes about half way inside. You just have to be careful to keep the note straight. Then, you bend the protruding part over the top half of the device, and you have tactile markers for the various sizes. Depending on how far the protruding, now bent part reaches, you can be very certain which value it is, but it just takes a while to recognize say
5 notes like this, so it's best to recognize what you have on you at the moment in advance and arrange the notes in your wallet accordingly.Lukas

[[wow]]! The game pitches quite a ninnyball. You see level 46 eagawk in the wild, so I figured it didn't transform til around then. So I fail! Plus the guide does say that. Don't know how I missed that before. Still, grinding it up to level 39 is very slow, even though it's getting decent exp a kill. It's just really weak until it gets fly.

Re: VGStorm Presents Manamon, a new fully featured RPG!

I am getting ready to do the tangeria tower. Most of my team are in the high 30's and low 40's. Pandourbit is not. He is level 26 or something. I've pulled eagawk up to 36 or so, and he seems really weak. I guess he will be until he gets fly, which is probably why I usually try to wait and catch one that's level 46, get it to level 47 and then go learn fly. How do you grind those up without being tempted to smash things? How do you grind up pandourbit without being tempted to punch holes in walls and throw stuff? Is it really a matter of killing one thing, healing, rinse wash repeat, ditto, see above, refer to previous item, over and over and over and over and over? It's definitely easier when everything dies in one hit. Eagawk can't do that yet. Not even close. So it's a tit for tat footrace to 0 hp. I know pandourbit is going to be the same way until it gets spirit force and earthquake. How do you train something that's always going to get
hit first because it's slow and do shitty damage because it doesn't have any good moves? There are others that seem like they might be like that too but I don't use those. I only need them long enough to make them transform, so I use something with oblivion slash and do the exp trick for those later on.

Re: VGStorm Presents Manamon, a new fully featured RPG!

Nope, they're just difficulty enhancers. Same with the ability that stops Irroadium from falling asleep, and the one that stops him being hurt by set-damage moves like Dragon Burst, Piledriver and the like. Same with the one that will reset his stats if they're monkeyed with too much. Nothing else gets those. Game would probably break if anything got Final Oblivion, unless it was just a 30-percent-accurate one-hit-kill move of the shadow type. But of course, Irroadium's hits pretty much every time, I think. Might be 80 or 90 accuracy, but I doubt it.

It should be fixed now, try redownloading the latest version of the game and see what happens. Note I won't have computer access until Friday because of school so I won't be able to fix anymore problems. Also as I said before, Aria shouldn't be using guns. You'll be getting so very powerful swords later in the game, and when you get them they'll be way stronger than guns, believe me. If you want guns, Blank can use them as well as the hammer he's been given. You will also get a new hammer for Blank when you arrive at Prom after the ghost ship.

Re: Survive the Wild!

Oh Ronald, you just can’t stay away. Well you know, if you are banned from the game you wouldn’t be able to see that there was just under 60 players online. Sucks the game is blown up and not fun anymore. And there is no need to tell people to stop talking, whether you like sito1 or not, luckily he doesn’t have to stop talking on the forums because you tell him to. The thing is, I don’t know what or who you are in RL, but in STW you are just one of the banned players, and you telling someone to do something holds no weight. If you don’t like the game then don’t play it, but acting like a jerk in the forums is going to do nothing. You don’t like the game, you are entitled to that opinion, but clearly many others do like it so why must you try to convince everyone how terrible the game is? The best thing to do is to just let it lie and move on with your life. Why do you want to waste your time on the forums complaining about the game, wouldn’t it be a much better use of your valuable time to move on and quit looking in the rear view mirror? You say the game is not good, 60 people online think otherwise. Back when I started playing there was maybe a max of 35 players, and it almost never went above that, now it’s normal to see over 50 players online. And if they like the game, just let them enjoy it and don’t poopoo on their parade. I’ll never understand how you can feel your opinion is more important than all others, but clearly that is just something you have to come to terms with. But in the meantime, Sam runs the game and makes the decisions, if he makes bad decisions he has to live with the consequences of that, as he has in the past, but he does the best he does, and runs a game that many people enjoy playing.

Sadly most audiogames do not have any gui at all, indeed I can think of those that do on the fingers of one hand. some have placeholder coloured graphic tyles, (though even those are rare), however they're no more than a guide to those with site, still a letsplay of an audiogame is rather good. both  manamon and entombed work with you moving around in real time though with turn based battles, so I can recommend both, albeit some of the textual stuff is still rather good if you ever fancied giving it a look.

When I first played I had that problem too, you need to go and talk to gregor  if I remember rightly, and then wily and mesana. As to the skills, that actually is a bit of a pest, but you can get a full look at the species skills by looking at the link to the monster's own page or checking them in the skill book, plus the hover over skills does work in battle, albeit I do wish the descriptions in the skillbook of what your soul puppet actually does in battle were added since just reading "so and so uses windhammer on so and so x damage" is a little dry to say the least.

Hello G-Rad, and welcome to the world of audio games! If you're looking for an RPG game with the same moving mechanics as Paladin of the sky, Manamon, from the same developer, is gonna be your choice sooner or later. Even though I really loved POTS and have beaten it a while ago, I see Manamon more addicting and the most serious RPG in its genre. You must definitively try it before you purchase POTS, you might decide to purchase both at once, but if your budget lets you choose to buy one from the two cited titles then I advise you to check out both games and see which one fits you the best.

Paladin is a great exampel of a good RPG for me.  Reminds me a lot of Dragon Quest.   I prefer being able to move around and do things physically within a game.  GBM, and sfx make games more lively for me.  Just my .02  I will definitely check out those others' and who knows.  I may do an LP of one, if they have GUI for viewers to see.

Well, the news isn't sparkling, for one thing,, our games are developed by one or two people, some are bigger. What you won't find are like triple A games, although we have some that get close. You will also not find audio that's as good as mainstream games,,, like MKX and GTAV and so on. What you will find is a scattering of titles from many genres, and you will have fun, but don't expect to have an accessible Madden or NHL in your hands anytime soon.

And i did it for a long time. Then, i see I can't keep stop playing it. Why, because I was addicted to it. I was a stw player since 2015, and most of you know it. This is right. The game currently contains very nice features, things and stuff but I don't know why, We had much more times before the pk system. I want to say a thing that maybe You do not think like me:I'm a boy, and love actions and fightings. Don't know I think game was more exciting than now. You might think game is now more friendly but When I decided to play survive the wild yesterday, (if i'm not mistaken). I saw lots of players that they ended their
quests and things, so they forced to stop next to each other and chat with radio. I feeled game really got boarry these days, with all this new features. With all the things that added to the game in the last updates.I said this all to return to my privious thing. Why we don't try to get a line with each other. Why we always trying to fight about stupid things. We are blinds so we should not let cited persons think wrong about us. Remember guise! when someone intrested to see how the blind people can play games, they use google's search engine. And audio games forum is one of the first thing that will come up for their search rezault. When they see the stw latest page, They see our fightings. Don't you think that what they might say about us?If we keep fighting or flattering, none of us can enjoy playing survive the wild. I'm sure mostof you will agree with me.I know and I agree this all that we had lots of faults, cheats and things you know. Bu
t westill can get a line together. We can try to make game more enjoyable for all of us. Remember, A blind person need to be one step next to the cited person. Else, he/she broke his personality. So, do your choice guise. Get a line, or fighting untill you get nothing.Hope my broken english could make you understand this text.Hope you'll think about it, and hope you'll chus the best thing to do.Take care of you, best regards for yo'all,Kianoosh.Bye.
