If you are using JGT or any other form of translation, you will notice that you should've gotten a technique from the chest that appeared after defeating the mini boss. this is the dash skill... done by pressing the direction you want to dash in with the action button, or double tapping and holding the key for the direction you want to dash in.

For everyone that likes a game where you can just explore, there are other choices. There's STW, which, while a lot different from this game, is at least much more legal. There's Swamp, which also has a few maps and many buildings to explore. I was protecting the dev here before, but now it's quite clear that this has at least some of the stolen sorce code. I can't say how great it is, because I still can't connect, even with the new version. But no matter how shiny a car looks, it's still stolen.Edit: I've been able to connect now. Haven't seen much, but so far a lot of the sounds sound familiar. It also has the same terrible connection problems as ultrapower. Who would have thought?

Nope, you can just install the update right over the old one, and the impressive thing about this is that the game update would only need to contain the key to press for building, pluss maybe a few bug fixes if I can ever figure out the cause of that annoying sound glitch, the building system itself, and buildings, are all server side. I could also extend the system for building your own starships that are orbital only, since shuttles are the vessels that can land and take off.

Hi once again,so I have been playing this game almost nonstop since last night (I had class earlier today and before I left I was playing for well over an hour, then on here trying to get more info for the things I was stuck on, and recently have been playing again)--I'd just like to say once more keep up the great work to the dev and those who are helping with the translations as I said in my previous post:"a game like this for myself is almost a dream come true" and I stand by my statement, I cannot explain the joy I felt to be able to go into a mall, shop for clothe, get food, cash, put on clothing, drink, etc again like I could in The Sims back when I had ok vision (I know those things can be accomplished in other games like MUD's but I've never really been able to get into mudding much I always  wanted more) (and those are just some of the small things you can do in this game I know) I still want to find a good way to actually make money i
 nstead of simply finding it on the ground as I really want to explore other cities and maybe get a house, etc soon :-)I can say since losing my eyesight there has never been an audio game, or any game for the visually impaired, that I have actually spent this much time on or actually went and tried to find out more info on by  forums, etc so for myself this is kind of a BIG deal! With all that said...I just went and installed the update that was posted here and I do have another question: When it comes to your character is the name of your character supposed to be a username or is it supposed to be a totally original character name? E.G. sometimes you might come across names like "AnimalMetal" and other times you will see names like "Luke" so I am a little confused on how in-game the character names should be appearing. Are we trying 
 for a regular username base here or are we trying to add a name to our character that would fit their personality.Thanks for the help!Keep up the great work!Morgan P.

So I was bored and I remembered that if you type /maps, there was a security bug where you could get all the maps in btb. I wonder if this command works on that game?Probably the only reason why I was the only person who came out with these statements before anyone else is because, I wrote the code to those commands? So I'm gonna know them. But at this point, I'm not mad because he's cloning anything, I even offered him help if he wanted to rewrite it from scratch. I nor Mason nor Sam want to see people using our code and not even giving credit, it seems like the admins are just not taking anything into consideration. I will say this though, I'm pretty impressed with the new stuff like airplains and god knows what else, the storms, etc etc etc. Still though, its kind of annoying, if you know what I mean.

Hi,Just looking for a little help, I am finally able to connect, and the options are all in English, so things are going much better. Now, I start off on some playground, and then there's a customer service desk that I can't do anything at, and then there's a door, but that leads to some kind of gate/fence. Where am I supposed to go to start out? Also, I can't use my weapons. It said left control to use your selected weapon, but it doesn't work. Unless the weapons being used do not play sounds?Any help would be appreciated.Thanks so much.

I can not prove anything because the decryption key has been changed. He also changed the port to 2020.I'm not mad because people play the game, I'm mad because this guy is getting away with it when I got banned for doing the same thing. What gets me is this.Megadimensao claims the game is not using code from BTB, or Ultra Power, aside from a shared class that he supposedly has permission to use.Blink_wizard says it is, and presents fairly solid evidence. Yes, many games probably use shared commands like STW and Swamp. A game that was built from scratch shouldn't have hidden commands in it like /123 to reboot or a piece of code in the character creation class that prevents creating the character masonasons. He also presents raw packet data using a decryption key that he built into his clone of Ultra Power.Even more suspiciously, the moment this evidence is presented, without giving anyone a chance to test it that I've seen thus far, the developer suddenly takes the game offline for most of a day to do security updates.Mostly, the arguments I see in favor of the game are "The game is awesome and the developer put a lot of work into it, so just don't play if you don

As a follow-up to Jack's post, according to Dave Wilkinson from HIMS, they expect the unit to ship in May. They also have plans to release a Mini version. I assume it'll be called the "Braille Sense Polaris Mini" like with the U2, and it'll have 18 cells. At this time, unlike older Braille Sense models, there will not be a QWERTY variant developed for now. The estimated cost is $5795, which if memory serves right, is almost the same as the Braille Sense U2, both Perkins and QWERTY models. A trade in program will be offered as well, with $1800 for trading in of either a Braille Sense u2 or BrailleNote Touch. A BrailleNote Touch 18 will get you $800.As for me, I'll probably still hold on to my Braille Sense U2 for the time being, but it's great to see HIMS moving forward.

Source code is the issue here.The code snippets that were shown are actually not terribly noteworthy because they're pretty basic. I'd bet a lot of games would share similar syntax in places.That said, I'm not coming down firmly on one side or the other. If the game is using the Ultra Power source code, then it can no longer be supported here. If it's not, then the people whining and yelling and throwing fits ought to calm down and realize that the few similarities being seen here are, in and of themselves, not enough to make a clone.Aprone is absolutely correct regarding the "from scratch" comment. Doing something from scratch means you did everything yourself, from day 1. I think that we can safe
 ly assume this game wasn't built -entirely from scratch; the developer has admitted as such. Honestly, the question at this point will be to determine just how much of the code has been borrowed. Too much, and it gets the source-code clone label and can't be supported here on the forums.

Greetings all. If your wundering why the server is down, its because i'm making an update which may take a bit, I can't give too much details but here it is so far. I've revampt the online mode, purging everything in the process, but before you go away, listen. The revampt mode now sports a new building system, and to go along with this change, you now start in your very own section on earth. Your task is to build up to achieving space travel by building your own settelment/country/whatever you like to call it on the planet. This means that weapons will now take a grater usefulness, the new system I had in mined is sort of a cross between assault and wayfar if you've ever played those games. When you start, resources are generated randomly with in the wild where you are, so you'll need to go around and collect them. However, buildings themselves can be multi roomed and have shops and other things, depending on what type of building you build. However, as t
 his is still using the very same server code, here's another thing. When you do achieve space travel and build your own spaceport, your ships can still be explorable as well and you can still fly them the same as before. So all of the previous systems you've come to know will all still be their when the server is put back up, including debris salvaging. So far, buildings can be built and you start in your own room, which will be your nation on earth, that gives you more than enough space to build. Building itself needs to be linked up to the resource system and needs a few more adjustments, as it stands now you can just select a building and have it built right their. You can't name your nation either, though i'm thinking of revamping character creation so it'll let you select from a list or create a new one. Anyways, that's all the details I can give for now. I'm hoping to have the new update out soon, though I can't give a release date at th

For some aircraft that have multiple engine choices you'll have to figure out which you want for a plane, the 757 comes to mind with two or three engine manufacturers that sound different.IIRC you can google the plane name and engine and find out what type of engine it has.

Sean, it runs a modified Linux distro. With the software being completely open source, I'd assume that it would be available to download as an image. It may, however, be an Arm distribution. But software can be added and removed as you please.

@BlinkWizard: While I understand you are upset, insulting the developer like this (even though there isn't any swearing, it still looks quite spiteful), is not helping anyone, particularly as English isn't even the dev's first language! If you can get anything else that could help us though, we'd very much appreciate it. If not, then just be civil and perhaps take the game for what it is, and let other gamers enjoy it if they wish, myself included. For the record, your game had nowhere as much expansion at the time of release as this one does. Yours seemed to be much more like a clone, the evidence, unfortunately seemed very much stacked against you from the start, what with the ultrapower drama, at the time, being rampent. Well folks, anyone who predicted that Hims and Android just made Braille sense, well you're right. Have a look at this brand new Braille Sense Polaris from Hims that was announced at CSun just today. Now for my two cents. The positive, as there is a huge amount to this. I'm really excited to see Hims do this. Not that I had any doubt they would, Hims as always tried to stay mainstream as possible even with Windows Ce. But this is huge as far as collaboration is concerned. With the b2g, the Braillenote Touch, and now the Braille Sense Polaris, as long as people have those notetakers, they're pretty much on even footing as far as software is concerned. Sure, obviously there are interfaces built ontop of each platform that make them stand out, but generally speaking, anyone can use Google Apps, anyone can scan print with their device, anyone can access the same library of apps, you name it. I'm personally
  holding onto my Touch, but have nothing against  the Sense at all. I will, however, point out the stuff that each of the two does or doesn't have.nfc? On a notetaker?Yep, you heard right! The sense has an nfc chip, enabling Android Pay! The Touch doesn't have this. I personally don't fancy lifting my huge tablet up to a tap-and-pay, but then again I'm at an advantage with an nfc-activated Android phone. But this would make the Sense stand out among all the others if nfc is what you're looking for in a notetaker.The Sense is not as touchyThe lack of a touchscreen is not a huge deal to most. I for one am a huge fan of Touchbraille and its completely silent usage. I'm also hugely supportive of the Touch's ability to have the screenreader disabled and the screen be fully available for a sighted person to use, after all I actually have had sighted people use my tablet before for collaboration purposes. While t
 he Sense doesn't have the ability to disable the screenreader, at least not that I know of, it does have touch sensors to perform touchscreen actions, which I actually find to be a cool supplement to the keyboard. I don't even take issue to the Sense only having a keyboard, after all Hims is very well known for having impressively soft keyboards. So while there are advantages to each device, you can take comfort in knowing that there'll be no click-clack on the railroad track while using the Polaris.Have to send the Sense in for repair, now where's all that data going!While I'm not a fan of the off-the-shelf low-end sdhc card that comes with the touch, I absolutely am in full support of the removal storage approach. I don't know if Hims is gonna have a care program, if they do that's great, but either way, your data's coming along for the ride if your Polaris has to be sent in for repair. Better still, if it doesn't bother
  you too much, there are ways around it, Dropbox and the like, so while it is a disadvantage, it isn't a complete doorstop.So those are just some of the things that each one does or doesn't have. Either way, these are both great devices, and now, for the first time ever, there actually is a freedom of choice when you go to buy your next notetaker.

I was "busy" playing Tactical Battles these last few days, and as some of You can probably guess, the campaign I like the most is definitely that zombie-survival one, normally especially the 2 so called"hard" maps in it...With the one called "Hard Road" I had no troubles, figured out the "winning strategy" very soon, and finished it without any losses in my 2nd try.However, the "Zombie House Hard" luckily provides me amuch harder challenge, mostly due the lacking weapon-arsenal of the survivors, but I am still quite sure I will successfully finish this one soon too.Attention!I have an appeal regarding Tactical Battles, and I would be extremely grateful if ANYONE of you people would realize it!So, could someone of You PRETTY PLEASE create a campaign, or at least a single map with the Aliens topic???I mean a survival, or a "kill them all" type one, with a group of 8 or more members to le

Able to be erected in any outside area and very customizable, these should make camping much more enjoyable for those of you who like that kind of thing. They are redescribable, both inside and outside, and they can even be linked to other tents in the area! ok thanks, i'll try looking for engine sounds, I think i'v been trying to do it so it's sounds like your actually inside the plane but that doesn't always work because there isn't sounds for that or every plane, the quieter planes are the most difficult to find and to turn into something that is just right. I think the crackles, especially on older or bigger planes, as you said, make it seem more realistic, and on others like Mcdonnell Douglas you can almost feel the plane vibrating.

Well, Blindndangerous, keep in mind that our situation is not the same as some others. We as tech-savy computer users may be just fine using Linux, which I might as well point out that this system will be using Linux, so completely open source. But some folks can't use a computer, or their vision teachers don't know how to use a computer, or they're comfortable with a braille keyboard. More than anything, a consistent interface may be what they're looking for, a device with a fast startup time, no need to worry about antivirus loading, etc. This is why while we certainly need to get the notetakers as mainstream as possible, the notetaker idea has not completely died off yet. Besides, there's always the problem of braille translation. If a teacher wishes to emboss, the student would have to use the braille translation software, and they may have trouble working that software when a notetaker does it behind the scenes. Perhaps not *this* notetaker, but every
  other notetaker with a braille display.

Hi.So what did you do in your little "security" update? Change the packet's decryption key? That's it? Nice update, dude. He's clearly trying to hide the fact that he built the game off UP's sourceocde. So right when I login to the server, this guy decides to fix his "security." O, nice job. You know, you're lucky I had another class to go to, because I was about to get my backup of my projects folder and try to login with a pure btb copy of the code, just to prove that its a clone. I was even gonna record it. O well. Well, all I have to say, if the admins don't do anything about it, I'm gonna be really upset, considering that I received that long ban when I tried to do something similar. Its like putting someone in jail, O we know, you robbed that bank, but its ok if that other guy does it, we won't do anything to him!

I think the saying don't do to others what you wouldn't like done to you comes to mind here... Those who want just enjoythe game and have fun. On the point of crackling engines. If you listen hard enough, especially to older engines (DC-10 and L-1011 Tristar era) they do actually crackle at high RPM, one of the modifications for later DC-10 and Tristar variants was a muffler to reduce the crackling. In fact, with the Hawker Siddley Trident aircraft, everybody who flew it reported the same crackling at a certain throttle positionwhich was unfortunately near about 70-80% throttle. Much like the Tristar, the Trident was fitted with a muffler kit in later years due to the UK's noise rules.So, the crackling can actually be realistic, depending on what plane or engine model you're on about, it's only really in the later years that engines are silky smooth and even then not always, if you pay close attention to starting up a jet engine in real life, or a Youtube video, it hisses, it crackles, it sputters and isn't perfect at idle. It's only when you get up in the power range it smooths out re
 ally. If something like that could maybe be worked out for the sounds I think it'd help a lot.

For the engines, put in the model name of the engine, you'l have to find out which engine a plane uses but it's most often listed and, for the C-5 I believe you want the older one that screams, look up C-5 galaxy takeoff and that's the engine I'm referring to.Warning: Turn down your volume before clicking on any C-5 video. Those things are stupidly, amazingly loud and terrifying.If you can get away with it, I'd honestly say 'borrow' sounds from FSX freeware planes, so a FSX MD-83 sound for the one in Eurofly and so forth.

hm.well slj everything's all going a bit out of hand but like aprone said he doesn't no what elements the games been braught out to us as. but after all aprone has so much support for the developers and even i've tried to get it working. for when i installed and went to check a patch i heard some music then a message of some sort not that i new what it was and i still got the server isn't working because then the text in the primary language and i didn't no what to do. but i'll probably be going to bed soon lol so while most people will still be up on there computers i'll be in bed. lol but i'll try and connect again tomorrow. hope the server will be working. aww ad as for caio he's stressed as it is lol after all he's trying at his best just like most of us. anyway have fun to though's who can connect.

Not quite, there is a pending law that games currently have an exemption from, but that only applies to in-game communication, rather than gameplay.There are ways around misuse, for example in the old xbox arcade system when a game was uploaded there was an inner circle of a few hundred gamers whose job it was to check out all of the claims that were made about that game's features. If a game received enough flags, it didn't automatically remove the features from the listing, it flagged it up as needing review by xbox staff. If there were any serial musers, they were kicked out of the circle of reviewers. Which they wouldn't want, as there was a motivation to be a reviewer - the reviewers received all of the games they reviewed for free.

OK guys, lets put it this way. Those of us who love the game, lets keep our forces together, and lets tell the dev how much we apreciate it. ANd I am saying it even though I have not been able to play a single time, but what I heard is just awesome.Those of you who do not like it, just move onn to another thing. Lets stop fighting and flaming here, for goodness sake. As lady Juliet, Ive decided to support the project and stand with them, I've decided to, if the server update works, play and have fun. And, I think aprone took a word of my mouth, something I wanted to say: Nobody can forbid me to play, and even if it gets banned of this forum I already know there website and where to get it. Heck, lets go a bit further, if they for some reason decide to discontinue the english version which I hope does not happen, I'd still  play in portuguese even though I do not speak it fluently. Who knows, maybe that would be my way to learn it.Plus, of course I don't support code theft, but as many folks have said here I think they've not only put many hours of work here, but also they've already said it is not a clone. Hello SLJ,Thank you!I am still thinking and trying to look the best options for making the price even more affordable. Right now the problem will be to produce the device in a good amount of units for decreasing the price. I am estimating that the price will start from (USD) $300 with a keyboard, and up to $450 with 64 GB of memory and the two keyboards. I still have to try to put 128 GB of memory there and see how it works.About the keyboards, this is the funny and difficult part. Right now I have done the circuitry for power management, audio stuff and functions for charging and letting you know the battery's status. If the campaign gets enough donations I will start to work in the case (I made one, but we need to make a custom model and print it in 3d for being easier to produce) and the keyboard, I have developed the keyboards (both QWERTY and Braille) in theory, I mean I have the needed files and drivers, but we would need more money for buying needed p
 ieces and make some prototypes.Unfortunately it's a bit expensive to develop this kind of pieces because I have to print only an unit of each of them, and it's when they cost much more. If I'd ask like 50 or 100 units the price would be cheaper. But I think it is totally doable, and the software part is almost ready.

This is nothing against you, but rather a few questions I see.Why should people care?  What is yours going to bring to the table apart from maybe a lower price?Why a notetaker when laptops/tablets can do a better job then all notetakers that are currently on the market and can cost about $200 for a low working thing?  Why do we need yet another blind specific device?  All the things you say in your post that I saw a few weeks ago, and this post really doesn't offer anything new to the market.

I'm not sure what to think now.Firstly, I never played the original Ultra Power, nor have I actually seen it's source code. So when I ask for code snippets I'd be taking the word of whoever posted them.Still, blink_wizard's evidence seems pretty convincing, and even more so that the game goes down just after he posts a 100% verifiable way to test for shared code. Odds are it won't work when the server is back online, and we'll never know whether it never worked in the first place or whether the developer changed something.I tried the /123 command last night just after blink_wizard's post and was convinced that it didn't work because the developer wouldn't have had time to change things. However, Now I'm not sure since taking out code during the character creation process would probably result in a complete client update, which looks like what is going to happen with the masonasons character creation code.I think I will have to put this game down for now even though I had a blast playing the quests. I will pick it back up if it can be proven that it is not built upon stolen code from someone elses project. I personally don't support theft in any way, regardless of site rules. That's like saying, "Sure, feel free to steal cars, just don't let the cops catch you doing it." I also don't buy the argument that just because someone else has done something in the past makes it ok, for example, using kanami music in the tournament game or using stolen sounds and music in MUSH-Z. People worked hard to design those sounds in a lot of cases and compose that music and using it in your own projects is stealing, plain and simple. Call it piracy or borrowing if you want, it's just a redefinition of terms. On the other hand it can be difficult to tell when people are just using shared royalty free sound and music libraries, which I'm completely ok with.Sorry Megadimensao, this looks like a great game. I hope your innocence is proven.
