Okay yeah posed the question to a blind guy I was at high school with. This is his reply, paraphrased...let's call him Bob for this instance:No because I'd have to give up my free housing and my freee stuff I get on welfare, I don't want to give all that upThe problem, though is last I spoke to him, he works and has a good social life so I'd argue that could come off as entitled, the 'I work but I want free stuff' mentality when Bob actually works, has a full time job and still somehow claims to be a helpless blind guy. Nope, not making it up, he works a 40 hour week,.yet still plays the woe is me, I'm blind, card. Which frankly pisses me offf because I know for a fact there's a lot of unemplyed sighted people who could do the exact same job and do it just as well, without requiring (and this is from Bob's own words to me), getting his employer to fork out for training, for accomadating his needs.My uncle runs a roofing businesss, and again, this is paraphrasing his own words:He doesn't want to seek out and deliberately hire disabled people simply because being a sales rep involves driving and selling roofing stuff to people on a dady by day basis, e.g. leave house by six, drive to the office, then go drive all around the area till 4-5pm then head home. As my uncle stated, there's no way a blind person could do that at all. Yes, he has an office secretary who has her own issues, but as he stated, that's a different job. In that case he hired the best candidate for the job, this woman Lysssa could start right away, and get to work with minimal expense needed. I was shocked to learn how much it costs in certain fields to train or provide services for a disabled person, f.ex. my uncle has been forced by the fact he runs a business to not hire blind office workers because the company would simply lose too much money in bringing them in, getting the hardware and software all set up to  get them settled in, then go for the training. I was told during a conversation over Christmas it cost, and this is in GBP, or British pounds, £3500 to bring in one blind office worker from scratch, train them up with courses, then the cost of modifying the firm's computers to be accessible. This is where the bigger isssue comes in. I know the firm's IT specialist, Brian, he's honestly tried, and tried, and tried to find a way to do it on the heap to keep the company making moneyand from a pure tech perspective it's simply not doable, I explained to my unle Charles bout NVDA and he told Brian, Brian went and looked it up from what I heard, I got a call about it and it ended up as thanks for telling me about this but the charities are pushing us to use Jaws and won't give us discounts, the government won't either so we're screwed...which pissed me off. End result was my uncle told my aunt reported the company has made a concious choice not to deliberately hire any blind employeees simply to stay afloat. I understand that. I get for a company that turns over around a million a year...before taxes, I get where my uncle and Brian are coming from, I've heard the numbers, it's around £5-6k to get a blind guy set up, then you have the recurring costs. The final bit that pushed the roofing firm over the edge was how one blind guy pushing for a job told the firm to, quote, 'Make the job accessible' meaning the sales representative job. When it was suggested, reasonably, he'd be paired up with another rep and they could cover the same area, the blind guy apparently turned angry and said something like what the hell's the point of that? I don't want to be paired up with a sighted person to do my job. I'm independent.Which turned out to be a ton of bullshit, honestly because, the story goes that blind guy found his way out of the offfice and started screaming at one of the wagon drivers (the firm has a couple of 40 ton trucks for moving stuff around), the truck driver apparently floored the blind guy for threatening him with his cane, sure, the wagon driver got a warning for it but after one of the other guys stepped up and said he was hit with a cane, last I heard that warning got taken off his record after it was shown he was protecting himself.

from what I can tell with mine, holding away or not, it goes in to stand by mode while you're talking. as in the screen shuts down. double tap doesn't work and hitting the power button or the home button just brings me to the unlock screen or what ever you want to call that. double tap doesn't work because it's decided I'm not in the phone app anyumore so I can go in to that to end a call, but is a real pain in the proverbial.

I think it's a 6s, iOS 10, with a lifeproof case.My first thought was that it was a speaker mode issue, so I've been trying to hold it horizontally and exposed to light for a couple seconds before hanging up, and still no go.

one curious thing it does is considers 360 and 0 two different values, so its always going to be off by 1 unless of course he updated it since the last time I found this to be happening in a game. It's kinda funny actually because 0 and 360 are synonymous, not two different degrees, you don't go 358, 359, 360, 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. its 359, 0, 1, etc. like on a clock we don't say its 3:60 in the afternoon, 3 flips to 4 and 59 wraps around to 00 and so you have 4:00

Skype is, in my experience at least, actually fairly stable. That doesn't mean it never drops or glitches, mind you, but issues are rarely long-lasting. We can't know. It isn't worth analyzing too much. I'd let that part of it go.

I was told to not worry about holding onto luck and lore equipment early on in the game, as you turn over your gear extremely fast for several levels. Also, the bonuses you get at such a low level are so poor, it doesn't really make that much of a difference in your drop percentage, gold earned , or gem cutting speed while cutting a gem, something you don't even need to do until level 7 or 8. By that time you should easily have more inventory space when the gear is more worth while to keep.

Bk1 story got the best out of me really, even though sometimes it's...well actually it's pretty reasonable to a 10 year old boy to lose temper and go wild. Yamijin is my favorite character of all time, and that kuihihihihihi laugh gets to me, lol.I also like the open minded talk in bk3 after the hero rescues Carla, and the very emotional scene in bk2 after 10-4. These two scenes are what I see link the growth of the character together.

I've never had a problem with it. I do wonder if there's  commonality here, like if its a case issue, are there any people here who use their phone caseless? I've got mine in an Otterbox Defender series case with a plastic screen thing over the front of the shell.Let's try to get methodical about this, how about everybody post what iPhone they have, what version of iOS its running, what case, if any its in, and how old the phone is, maybe then by collating the data, we can reach some common ground here.Mine's an iPhone 7 running iOS 11.2.6. It's about 4 and a half months old and as mentioned previously, its in an oterbox defender case.

so after playing the game lots...a few suggestions1. Make some more unlockable stuff  like shields for hazzards, or points/zones on maps so that users could recover some health without resorting to potions. Or items scattered could have some effects like increasing speed or jump (in maps on which shoes are not allowed) or heal or unlock doors for you ETC.2. Chat sometimes is buggy and sometimes messages do not get sent so I have to keep on sending them again and again.I am happy with the rest so far. Some maps are just terrific fun, others really hard, others demand lots of strategy and thinking so people are really being creative at building.

I have the option to switch to speaker phone disabled. I enabled it and called myself to test, and could hang up with a two finger double tap okay. I then disabled it again, and could still hang up on myself with a two finger double tap. But earlier on today, it would not hang up no matter how many times I tried. @DJEPIC, have you got notifications allowed from land of Livia? I believe all the quest complete messages are notifications, so you might want to check that. I've progressed fairly well and even got my first gem, though I don't want to risk cutting it yet. However I've run into a miner issue since my inventory is full and I can't do anymore questing. I was going to keep some of the gear I have that has lore and luck bonuses and then see about upgrading it, but I'll probably need to let that go in order to continue questing, at least until I can afford some of those inventory expanding companions. i will say with the need to have basically one complete set of gear for each stat and 9 wear locations, that doesn't allow much chance for lee way or keeping lore and luck boosting items, or at least not until I've expanded my inventory some more. Oh well, at least it gives things to work for. one thing I do find a little odd is that the tem generation is fairly rigid.  That is to say there seem to be suffixes and  but not a lot of variation in clothing types or descriptions, for example everything is "cloth armour" rather than being robes or shirts or whatever, similarly all weapons are swords. it'd be a little more interesting if the game let you have different item types even jsut for variety, since "clever silk slippers" and "pirates hobnail boots" would sound much more atmospheric than "clever cloth boots" and "pirates' cloth boots" but so it goes.

Could it be a screen problem where the screen is failihng to sense two fingers instead of just one?And what do you mean the iPhone SE is on its way out? Rumor has it that the SE is popular enough that Apple will be releasing an updated version this fall when they release the next cycle of iPhones. I'm guessing that there are still a lot of people like me that prefer the original form factor over the newer bigger ones.

@Angel, from the perspective of someone who has had voice lessons and does! sing in Italian on occasion,it actually sounds like your teacher is doing her job properly. It sounds to me as if she's recognised you have some possibility to develop your voice and your singing, so she is pushing you, just the same way a  sports coach might push someone who showed a promising talent with a certain sport. Singing is very physically demanding, it will! make you ache, and likely cause your voice to feel tired until your muscles get used  to the correct breathing etc, however it will be worth it in the end, just think of it like  exercise training because that is effectively what it is. As for singing in Italian, there are certain vocal reasons why Italian is a good language to sing in. The long vowels give you practice opening your mouth, while the cons tenants are soft and give you practice forming them. My singing teacher was very fond of giving me Vokais, these are short peaces in Italian intended to expand the  voice range and actually make great warmups. Of course, not all singing teachers are equal, but I'd suggest if your serious about music you give this teacher a chance and give what she's asking you to try a chance too, since if you can develop your voice it will be good for many things from public speaking, to health, as well as being a great aide to any performances you want to do. For me, today  hasn't been good either, since this morning we went to a funeral of a dear friend of my parents, a very nice Vicar who I had a great respect for. Oddly his funeral was quite hilarious, everyone telling stories about him and feeling strangely upbeat, then again he was quite a character. he even chose the hymns to be less than dolful. It was and is extremely sad to miss him, but it was sort of nice to remember him too. I've also been playing lots of Land of Livia, and we're staying at my parents tonight which means other games have had to take a back seat but I hope to get back to things tomorrow.

Ios11 and my new Iphone 8 are fine here, however my lady has been having this problem ever since she first got the six with Ios 10 a couple of years ago. I did wonder if she was having tap issues, but  suggest she tries both the power button thing and waiting to put the phone into speaker mode. I do wonder if it's an Iphone 6 thing, since I never had this problem on my Iphone 5 and I don't have it now on my new Iphone 8 either.

Unfortunately it's  not a process as formal as "scheduled" Usually I poke around and see what I can play, what I can add, and what realy! needs adding according to community attention. developer input etc. Obviously this means games I sit down and play seriously out of interest myself get entries a little sooner, but I do try to be as    fair as I can. the ultimate purpose of the db is to be a comprehensive database of any and all accessible  computer games out there (accessible! note, not merely playable), so generally I try to add as many as I can in as wide a selection of genres, styles and input methods as I can. this of course also gives me a great excuse to try out new games and write about them, which is  for the most part I greatly enjoy doing anyway .occasionally I'll ask others to help with specific entries if I think something is important or if I think it's beyond my sphere of knowledge to write about, and of course  other staff members will chip in with games they've played or are familiar with too, as well as making the odd change to a  db entry. Code 7 as it happens was on my personal list of games to try, since I do remember trying the demo way back when and enjoying the game,  it is just with the game and it's distribution  method being complex it'll take me a little more time to deal with, ditto with expanding the detail on the hero's call entry. Still,  as far as we have a schedule, I can say I have the  demo on my pc at the moment and will be playing and writing about it hopefully this week, perhaps even buying a season pass myself, though whether that happens depends upon how well I get through chapter zero .

@JaceK, if  we  removed any system on the basis that it could! turn into something nasty or be abused, we wouldn't even have a forum ;d. If  anyone was being arsy about their Karma, obviously they'd get moderated, but I suspect in  that situation, as indeed in many situations, it would be the inherent arsiness of the person that was to blame, not the Karma system itself, heck people are quite good at finding reasons to be arsy on their own without us having to imagine further Personally, I like being able to thumb up a post and say "thank you" to someone in a tangeable way and that's what I've seen Karma being used for since we removed the thumbs down  option, which is all it was ever intended to be. I am afraid there isn't a way to  have users disable display of Karma if they don't want to see it, though I agree that would be a nice option to have for those who  don't care about the Karma system, as it is  your best bet is to just treat the karma system like a public toilet. it's there for anyone who wants to use  it, if not your free to ignore it, and the staff promise  to keep  it clean and stop it from stinking either way .

Works for me with NVDA, surprised it doesn't with Jaws.I would set your render distance to far, and speed to fast, as long as your not running a really old machine.Make sure radar beeps are on as well.After downloading and installing those maps, you can go to start, server list, and the one at the bottom is joseph Weakland's, which is the right one.Make sure to read the release notes so you know the keys, expect to die allot before hand, KEEP AT IT WITH AIMING AS IT'S HARD AT FIRST BUT THE CLOSER YOU GET TO YOUR TARGET THE EASIER IT IS, and I am going to show people how to set up their own local server to practice navigating maps on soon, as it doesn't need you to be connected to the wider internet, or to forward ports.

If you mean the thing on sam’s site, from what I can understand, it basically defines the hole 360 degrees turning system and a few other things so it’s possible to have 3D maps without bgt throwing a combilation error because it doesn’t know what the shit your script is referring to.

True. What makes .NET so nice is that you can mix managed and unmanaged code. Also, about pointers, pointers in C++ are not as scary as some people make them out to be. In fact, they're very easy to work with. You usually never have to do manual pointer cleanup because C++ usually handles that for you either upon program exit or upon scope exit. And with C++11, 14 and 17's new STL components, you now have std::smart_ptr and std::shared_ptr to use too, which both free themselves when no longer used.

I find it very suspicious that he says that "people are really enjoying it" in his email but Jake hasn't posted a single thing either on this topic or on the forum about this service. Makes me wonder if it's just a gam bling tactic to try and get people to buy into this nonsense when really no one has tried. Plus, I also find it highly suspicious that he wants people to use Skype; considering how unreliable Skype can be in simple voice calls sometimes, especially in large groups, I'd imagine Skype is even more unreliable with screen sharing. There are far more stable platforms, and if I'm not mistaken, Be My Eyes allows for something like this.

it should go without saying, but you can't do this while the phone is outputting through the ear piece at the top, but only when you pull the phone away from your ear enough that it switches to speaker, the reason is that when the phone is at your ear, it turns off the screen and doesn't respond to any touch commands.

Unfortunately there's some serious inconsistency in who is or isn't experiencing them (i.e. it's not something that's being seen by people with bad hardware, but not people with good hardware) so that makes it difficult to actually troubleshoot and solve the issue. Blind ninja wrote one in text that has a full list of all enemies and weapons, plus all the levels of the game with a separate section for the secrets. It's on the main game topic. If you want one in audio, their's one on the developer's website. It's in Japanese, but it does go through the whole game and gives some pretty good tips on beating the levels and the stats you should have when playing them. It is, however, in Japanese and I don't know if their's an audio walkthrough of the game in English. Speaking of ware you can find the audio walkthrough of the game, you should check out some of the other ones he did if you liked the one for BK3. Their's one for BK2 as well, and some others. He's currently working on one for A Hero's Call, so if people want a walkthrough for a Hero's Call and know Japanese, go listen to it.

hi wastelander, I think a fun edition to the game would be a sort of naval warfair system. This might come into effect when exploring particularly far away, there might also be some races such as shark men, who are water based and live their entire lives on the sea. To attack those races, you would need to build a naval shipyard, which is able to construct gallions, seedge ships, sloops etc. You'd have to assign and train some soldiers as sailers and ship to ship fighters, and peasants as rowers. Opening up the seas as a stage of play also would have you risk attacks from pirates and privateers from other nations. However, if you were so inclined you could just as well invoke privateer laws yourself and plunder trade ships and missions from other kingdoms for your own reserves. Another possibility here is the option of owning and upgrading a port. This would let seafairing traders dock at your shores and trade, bring adventurer parties, or harber enemy spies. My second idea would be a system of religion. When the game first starts a random selection of gods and higher powers would be generated. You could choose to follow one of these teachings. If you build a temple you would be able to make sacrifices (human ones if your god is an evil god), go on crusades, or embark on pilgramages to atain blessings for the future. However, following the teachings of a god would also require you to run your kingdom in a certain doctrin. Not following it would cause bad things to happen. But you could also choose not to follow any power, and simply stay out of the entire matter of religion. You'd miss out on bonuses but also wouldn't have to constrain yourself to a speciffic following.

Hi, this is Phoenix. I am having issues beginning a new adventure with my character after completing one. When I go to fight the wolves, I automatically lose. I also get a bunch of text errors. This does not happen when I start with a clean slate, meaning level 1. Also, my main character was a priest. After completing Sister Alexia's quest, only she got the holy warrrior ability. I do not know how my main priest is supposed to get it, as I do not see it in the list of skills you can buy.

hi,Yes exactly on the laws. There was once a law submited to parliament, which was then pulled, which  would've required everyone to log into the internet with their turkish identity number. As for the piracy police law, I doubt it will be adopted in current form, if it does, it won't last long. The law is crazy frankly. If it is adopted, and stays around, vpn sales will surge, like they did in russia. Anyway, the countries that don't criminalize noncomertial file sharing, are doing it precisely so that people can do it. It isn't just some random accident. Such countries believe that it should be kept legal.Anyway, back to vpns. The ability to work behind a firewall, and cgn is a must. If it doesn't, it basicly brakes the service for me. There is zero possibility of me gaining a non-firewalled or non-cgn network access, iether at home or school. Do generally paid vpn solutions offer this functionality.

agreed with post 120. as for 118, you raised an interesting point. if you lived on an unhabbited island, where it's just you and nature, would you want your sight back? while in that instance, I wouldn't want it as much as I do now, not being able to see the view of the sea, the wild life, nature, would hurt me just as bad. in fact, thinking more about it, that island would want me to have it even more, since unlike in the real world, I  would have no sighted to describe things to us, or help. not being able t o put a picture to a coconut, not knowing whether it's consumable at all... sometimes the look of these things, while not as obvious, but can help.

No, the NFB doesn't need to stop what it's doing. It needs to die. It needs to end. Period. The NFB has hardly done shit to improve the blind community other than cause trouble for everyone and giving the blind as a whole a bad name. Organizations like the NFB or RNIB, who supposedly "represent the blind," do a shitty job of it and need to ended. The organizations, I mean.

Because society was different then, you had a very religious perspective on the world, you had several different strains of Christianity in the US, and you had a smaller US to bootIn 1900 it was common for disabled people to be treated as drooling idiots, incapable of anything, that attitude lasted up until the 1970s at least in some areas and still happens today. Certain religions viewed, in the late 1890s/early 1900s blindness or disability as a punishment from their chosen deity for not being religious enough, for instance a child born out of wedlock that was blind was blamed on sex outside marriage, a child born to a married couple was seen as blind due to the faults of the parents and a god punishing the child, for example. Also for 1900s society consider the social constructs. You didn't exactly associate outside your social level, the aristocracy didn't associate with the common riff raff in the streets, and the disabled were seen in certain areas as no better than beggars or even criminals. In certain parts of the world, blind and disabled people were forced into 'therapy' to 'cure' their disability. Or just tossed into insane asylums.Society hasn't really changed in 117 years from the given date, as a whole. If anything, things like the NFB/RNIB/etc are a throwback to social class structures, I feel, they need to get with the times and notice the world's adapting,  and changing. They need, I feel to stop treating blind people like it's the 1900s and they need help doing the simplest little things, or to stop treating them, at the worst ends of it, like babies who can't be trusted to do anything on their own.

so you want to get somewhere. like another state, or something. or you just want to have a quiet weekend alone. train and bus aren't available. so you have 2 choices. 1) you fly, which you can't afford. 2) you simply don't go to have a weekend alone. 3) if you're sighted, you grab your keys, go to the nearest gas station, fill up the tank, and off you go. in fact, if we're speaking of fishing/camping, you literally can't get there without help. and it's not that some of us can't, it's that we don't want to ask for help. there's nothing wrong with not wanting sight back, or not noticing the limitations of blindness, but claiming that they are not there is just simply wrong. I mean, I do admit that almost the only things I miss about not having sight are driving, and the ability to miss nature. I can do more or less everything else that a sighted can. but independence, and freedom, I miss it, there is no day that passes by, when I don't wish it. I think not having any blind person near by, none that I ever hung out with, only having purely sighted is partly why I feel this way. and this is me, apologies if I just want what many people have.Yeah, this is the real one, but I think it's a lot more context-dependent than we're making it out to be.I bring up again that cars and computers are young enough that people who predate the spread of both are still alive. And yet, in spite of that, it seems extraordinarily likely that being blind 100 years ago was more limiting than it is today, and 200 years ago even more so.Let's consider the world where cars are not an issue: either autonomous vehicles caught on and are 100% accessible, or you live on some really nice island with all the environments you'd normally want to take aacar to in easy walking distance from train stations.Assume that this island somehow has Amazon, and so you don't have to go ask a stranger to help you find embarrassing health products at a store.Now what?Because something tells me this scenario would change no one's mind, as described.Oh, I agree that the fact that Joe Shmoe can drive for a couple hours and reach some place I wouldn't mind going, and I can't, is rather unpleasant. But Joe Shmoe couldn't do that in 1900, and blind people were still overwhelmingly downtrodden in 1900. The NFB didn't exist back then (IDK about the RNIB).There were still things missing, like art and eye contact. I don't remember either of those coming up in this discussion, though. It always comes back to either independence, or awful people being awful in a way they wouldn't be toward a sighted person.In a world where driving was a non-issue, and sighted people treated you like a human being with actual value, what would be your motivation? How strong do you think that motivation would be in this scenario?Would it make a difference if you were the only blind person around, vs if you could easily find a dozen on short notice?I'm not saying that blindness isn't, by definition, the lack of a sense, or that lacking that sense isn't limiting or disadvantageous in any way.I'm asking what limitations and disadvantages, specifically, make it so horrible for so many?And why were blind people worse off when hardly any ubiquitous technology was inherently visual?

The reason for two characters is that my son likes to play a game on my primary device which is much faster than his slower older device, so I created a second character to pass the time while he does this.When gem cutting it is important to note that you shouldn't try to guess and time when the tone will sound to hit it exactly right while using voice over. What I mean is don't sit there and try to anticipate when the tone will chime, pressing cut before you hear the tone, as it will result in negative results. I spent an entire day collecting gold and gems to test which works best and I've found that double tapping is best (recommended by the developer), as well as hitting the cut button when you hear the tone. Actually, I have had best results when  I hit the cut button a split second after the tone, especially for the first and second cut. I believe this is because the developer said that he took into account of the delay that would occur for voice over users using double tap and if you are too quick you will outpace the delay.I should also mention here as well that I've recently consolidated to one campfire GB8eXw. This one seems to be more active with voice over users. Remember that the campfire ID is caps sensitive when inputting the ID.

Well, I really am not just talking about you Enes, so the cowardly thing was not trying to be very personal, or really any of it accept the last couple lines.You are representing the idea, so I am attacking the idea.And you have made some good points, such as how pulling digital copies from the ether takes essentially 0 resources as compared to manufacturing a physical item or using material in order to provide a service, though, that is not always true when paying licensing or royalty fees to another company for each copy soled as required.Also you have taught me more about the laws around this subject, and how different governments view online piracy, though, let it be noted that most of them are full of people who can not afford the product anyway, with governments who lack the resources to police them even if they wanted to.I also agree that the concept of morality is not held by only one person or group, and that their is often allot of gray area between the (likely nonexistent) inherent right and wrong poles on any given subject.However, when ever you put your personal moral compass out their for everyone to see, as you have willingly done, than you should expect to receive feedback on it, and the more polarizing the subject the more negative it will potentially be.So call it a personal attack if you wish, and I will cut back on similar statements in the future towards you out of courtesy, because I have been too harsh I think, and even though you have also made personal statements, as well, your main argument still hinges upon the law, rather than individual morality.That said, their are still many pointless and outdated laws on the books all over the world (gay men not being able to donate blood in an emergency, obviously non consensual sex while married not being considered rape, a minimum age of consent below the age of sexual maturity, being ticketed for whistling in public on a Sunday, being stoned to death for having a baby by rape, getting away with disabling hospitals and other vital infrastructure in other countries with viruses, major animal cruelty, and so many more.So just because it's on the books does not mean you now suddenly have a free pass to do it from society at large, it just means you can't be prosecuted for it.Plus, many of these laws are still being hashed out haphazardly by a bunch of old farts who have no idea what they are even voting on, accept for what they are told by often times bias advisers with no sources, even though the situation has much improved within the last few years from what I've seen.

Okay gonna bump this since I've noticed weirdness on FF 58 nowIf I fire up a new window, or private window and don't tick the remember me box, if I let it sit there for 10-15s on the login screen, it puts me to the main forum page when logging in.If I don't type my password in correctly the first time, and log in the next time, get sent to the main forum index too.Now the weird bit. If I  heck the box and then go back to the forum, it's not saved the login, i'm still forced to log in again. Is that a FF isssue or a site issue? It happens to a few other sites but mostly the other sites work fine with saving the session cookies. I'm not sure why this one behaves wierdly.
