Your right that handling screen reader output can be pretty straight forward when you get the COM's sorted in your language of choice, I think its more that people aren't used to working with them directly like that and there isn't alot of examples or documentation about it specifically, especially for beginners. Might be useful to dig into it a bit and make a few documented examples.As for Tolk, after a commit on febuary 3rd, 2019 a number of scripts and documentation included in the Tolk distro went missing, among other things. From the github it seems they tried to switch over and build everything with NMake, which apparently didn't work out. There were a few fixes after that with the last commit being July 2019 to deploy releases to Github, but the compiled binaries haven't come back up since, maybe they just didn't want to deal with the hassle? I haven't compiled from source so can't comment, but if I had to guess it should be fine. To take one example, in Peter Cleins X heroes series (a series I read hoping it was to be better than it actually was), he constantly mentioned one character's salt and pepper coloured hair, even describing him as "the salt and pepper man", as in "Yes, the salt and pepper man replied." Not only did constantly having this character described as "the salt and pepper man" sort of make him sound like a weighter, but also Clein absolutely never used any other descriptive phrase to talke about the colour of said man's hair, indeed the salt and pepper hair was about his only characteristic besides his age and the fact that he was a he. Had Clein occasionally said "blonde speckled hair," or "greying hair" or any other damn phrase about the man's hair rather than "salt and pepper" time and time again, I wouldn't have minded, although it might have been nice if said guy had a bit more physical presence than just his hairdo. clein's books weren't "terrible!"or offensively bad or anything like that, they just weren't particularly well written, and very much of the one trick pony variety, though in Cline's case that pony wasn't Harem fiction or erotica, but overpowered super heroes slaying their way through hoards of less than dangerous zombies and coming out without a scratch. You should also turn on audible alerts on any smart speakers that you ahve, so that if they do false positive you, you know when and where, and can stay quiet for the one or two seconds that it spends false listening. AI Dungeon, aAI Dungeon now fully accessible on the web Hello all,I'll update the AI Dungeon topic as well, but just thought I'd let you know that I've been playing AI Dungeon ever since it came out and it has been improving by leaps and bounds in terms of accessibility. I originally played it on my phone but that relied a lot on dictation which didn't always get things right. I found workarounds to play the web version, but for a long time, up until last week really, parts of it could really be a headache.I am happy to tell you though that the game is super-accessible now with clearly-labeled buttons, no problems with overlays staying after the window is officially closed, and an eas-to-use ui that makes it as easy for me to play it as my sighted friends.I brought up a couple things to the developers and they fixed them within a day. If anything added to this game falls apart, this is definitely a game where the developers are definitely willing, able, and eager to make sure everyone can play.In truth, This game is really good for us because it is a mainstream trendy game right now among the sighted as well as the blind and I have had many sighted people hanging on my every word as I tell them of some of the antics I've had on there.For the most part also, there is now a "Safe Mode" that will filter out most of the inappropriate stuff, both from things you read and things you encounter while playing. It isn't perfect, as in a game I played today there was a make-out session I didn't want that went borderline R-rated, but all and all, it is much easier to avoid filth if you don't want it.It's rare that a mainstream, very popular game gets this sort of opportunity for the blind, so just thought I'd share it.Also, if you don't like the scenarios, there is a new "Game of the Week" option that comes out every Tuesday or Wednesday usually, you can now create and play scenarios made by others, and of course there is always the custom options.The game also knows a lot of popular franchises and I had a lot of fun with IP when I played a member of the Legion of Doom and hunted down the Justice League one by one, though I got Black Cannary fighting on my side.Just thought I'd let you know.also, the game updates almost every day, and frequently several times a day. And there is also a contributor studio where you help train and build the AI (right now by helping it learn how to generate and monitor quests) and when a human gets around to reviewing them, you get points which you will one day be able to redeem for cool prizes. No word as to what those prizes are, and I'd train the thing even without rewards, but interested. When I say literally impossible I mean not allowed by the laws of physics themselves impossible.Microsoft can use CPU resources without you knowing if and only if they have secret partnerships with enough chip providers that when a security researcher plays around with Windows they'll reliably happen to be on a motherboard Microsoft has secret control of, and even then you could still just measure the heat or power consumption and know something odd is going on that way, which means that Microsoft would also have to have a secret relationship with god or something so they could get exceptions to the laws of thermodynamics to stop everyone from noticing that hey, that's funny, Windows is using resources that it doesn't report and this hardware won't report it to us either.Microsoft can only ship data off device without someone knowing if they have hardware-level agreements with just as many routers, except again you can just measure the radiation from the wi-fi card directly or literally solder measurement devices directly into the ethernet cable, so again Microsoft also needs a relationship with physics god to get an exception to needing to use electrons to send information.And hey, even if Microsoft somehow has god-level access to the universe itself, that still doesn't explain how Google got the data. Google is a direct competitor in the browser market, the laptop market, and the cloud computing market. They've also been a direct competitor in the phone market, at least until Microsoft stopped caraing about Windows Phone, and are still a direct competitor in the VR market as well. Those two songs are way too obscure to just pop up for no reason the same day I listen to a radio show from the 2000s in which both songs are mentioned. Neither of these are my taste, and I hadn't even heard of the orange juice one. I'm not into 80s music. If it had just been one song, I'd put it down to coincidence, but when it happened again, sorry, something is going on here, and it's not related to my internet activity, it came from listening to those shows on VLC. But I don't know how VLC could get any info about my Google account. So I'm thinking more Win 10 given all the software we know it has for watching for keywords in what we type and say. Basically what this means is if coders are logged out, tracebacks are not lost and instead when we log in we can see, oh, this broke 6 times, where this broke only twice. priority!We took on another member of staff, a very hard working one. I originally played it on my phone but that relied a lot on dictation which didn't always get things right. I found workarounds to play the web version, but for a long time, up until last week really, parts of it could really be a headache.I am happy to tell you though that the game is super-accessible now with clearly-labeled buttons, no problems with overlays staying after the window is officially closed, and an eas-to-use ui that makes it as easy for me to play it as my sighted friends.I brought up a couple things to the developers and they fixed them within a day. If anything added to this game falls apart, this is definitely a game where the developers are definitely willing, able, and eager to make sure everyone can play.In truth, This game is really good for us because it is a mainstream trendy game right now among the sighted as well as the blind and I have had many sighted people hanging on my every word as I tell them of some of the antics I've had on there.For the most part also, there is now a "Safe Mode" that will filter out most of the inappropriate stuff, both from things you read and things you encounter while playing. It isn't perfect, as in a game I played today there was a make-out session I didn't want that went borderline R-rated, but all and all, it is much easier to avoid filth if you don't want it.It's rare that a mainstream, very popular game gets this sort of opportunity for the blind, so just thought I'd share it.Also, if you don't like the scenarios, there is a new "Game of the Week" option that comes out every Tuesday or Wednesday usually, you can now create and play scenarios made by others, and of course there is always the custom options.The game also knows a lot of popular franchises and I had a lot of fun with IP when I played a member of the Legion of Doom and hunted down the Justice League one by one, though I got Black Cannary fighting on my side.Just thought I'd let you know.also, the game updates almost every day, and frequently several times a day. And there is also a contributor studio where you help train and build the AI (right now by helping it learn how to generate and monitor quests) and when a human gets around to reviewing them, you get points which you will one day be able to redeem for cool prizes. If you want different music at different points in your map, one way to achieve this is setting an event trigger to change the music when you enter a certain area of a map. If you saw my last YouTube video I used this trick to change the background music when I climbed up out of the cave, since technically I was still on the same map- although each map has its own music and ambience, Each building on that map can still have its own music and ambience track. With buildings which are more than one story/floor high you can set different music and ambience for each story/floor of the building.- Music and ambience sound folders do not use sound sets, so you can’t sadly add multiple tracks and have sable pick one at random.- you can set event triggers for mob/boss battles. Problem with my internal laptop battery Hey all.So something weird started happenning with my pc's battery. I just charged the thing to full, then it died by lack of charge as obvious, but when I tried charging it to full again it wont move from 1%. It happened before like... 3 times or so? But eventually it got fixed.
