Re: Sonic The Hedgehog by CAE Jones

It worked fine for me. My only problem with it is that I'm not an action fan, and I'm still looking for a game with a decent pet care element. I use to love listening to sighted friends and family playing with them, breeding them, the works. I think the best choice is puppet nightmares, though as I said earlier I don't like the twisted theme and the lewdness.

Sonic The Hedgehog by CAE Jones

Hi. I saw a link to this user's available games, and I was curious about one game in particular, sonic the hedgehog. I tried to download it, but it took me to a dropbox 404 error. I sent a forum email to request a link, but I was hoping someone else might have a copy. There's a particular feature I'm interested in, taking care of the kayo that have been part of several sonic video games. I hope this audio version has this feature, because I'm more of a pet person than a fighter, and I enjoyed listening to sighted people play that part of the game, and I was hoping I could try it. Any info would be appreciated. I've also searched the mud connector for a MUD based on Sonic, but the one I found was no longer online. I hope to hear from you soon. P.s. I'm still looking for games where you take care of pets, so I was hoping I was in luck with this version of Sonic. Monbre doesn't hold my attention anymore, I don't see a blob as a living, br
eathing thing to care for. Puppet nightmares has some good features, but the story is too dark and sexually oriented for my liking, and psypets feels stale, it feels like the action is gone. I use a Windows computer, so my options are limited compared to smartphone users.

Puppet Nightmares and NVDA

Hi! My interest in puppet nightmares has been rekindled, since I was looking for a game with pet breeding. However, I need some tips on playing with NVDA. For instance, the witch in the moonlight graveyard wants me to give her a chained book. I have the item in my key items, but I don't know how to give it to her, so my progress is hindered. Any tips on how to do mouseovers and work with the other accessibility challenges the game presents?

Lost Speech in entombed

Hi. I'm running entombed using Windows 8, with sapi as my speech engine. I seem to lose speech in the most inconvenient times, like in battle, and my only choice seems to be fiddling around till I find the exit option. This gets on my nerves, because I never know when it'll happen, and I'm forced to go back to the last saved file, which can be annoying if I've made major changes to my party's characters. I don't have any of the other speech engines entombed supports, what do I do?

Hi. The closest I've found is a MOO called sindome, it's futuristic with some elements of space. I don't know much about them, I only heard it mentioned in the game's TV broadcasts. By the way, I think they're actually done by players. The only downside is that the game is set in a gritty future, meaning people can do anything to you when you're logged off, even stealing your clothes and money. If you know of another MUD with features such as telivision and interesting RP, let me know, I'm looking for a replacement. Paying for showers? Disgusting!

Best Space MOO for RP

I've played miriani, star conquest, and cosmic rage off and on now, but I still don't feel as if I've found a game that allows me to play any profession I want. I like miriani, but there doesn't seem to be much room for people who don't want to be pilots. Sure, there are other activities, but piloting seems to be where it's at. Star conquest seems to confine you into a pilot role, and they seem to look at you sideways if you don't want to be a pilot. I've tried cosmic rage, and it's okay so far, but I don't know how to find RP, and there's a lack of interesting activities for the lower levels. Which of these, in your opinion, is better at RP? I'm willing to give each another chance, but I'm a bit put off by star conquest not having much support for people who don't want to be pilots. Thanks.

Also, I forgot to add this on before I hit post, but I also have tried clok and haven. Haven doesn't seem to have any protection from pointless PK, and I don't know how to get involved in haven's storyline. I have heard new worlds mentioned when I posted on the mud connector, but it's just generic fantasy and I don't like a game that doesn't have an interesting story arc. Any tips on succeeding in iron realms games would be appreciated. Yeah, I have a beef with their business model, but I love the deep lore and the well-crafted areas, and I'd gladly spend some money to get my hands on the promotional items. That's why I'm looking for a job in gaming, so I can do what I enjoy and make money off it. I wouldn't pay for the combat artifacts, they don't guarantee that a screen reader user will get what they paid for, and I read somewhere that someone had spent hundreds of dollars on combat artifacts and they still were unable to co
mpete. I've browsed the terms of service for a few games, and I heard they don't give refunds, so I won't be spending money in that department.

Re: Trying to find a game to call home

I've tried all of these games. Avalon, in fact, turned me off with the ooc chat over org channels. I love the iron realms games, but I'm not working, and I don't see how to earn credits without grinding. Though lusternia and imperian have a happybirthday command where you get 25 bound credits on your birthday, and they'll even send you a happy birthday email. You might get credits during special celebrations, they'll post on the announce board and give out a command to receive a few bound credits, but that's a pittance compared to what paying members can attain. I'm also trying to find the iron realms game that fits me most. Lusternia got a brand new introduction last year, and I don't really like it compared to the old one, and imperian's intro is just a killfest, I've been putting off finishing that one. How do I compete as a non-paying player in a game that pretends to be free, that's the question.

Trying to find a game to call home

Trying to find a game to call home

Hi! I'm looking for a MUD to call home. Here is what I'd like, requirements first and then some requests. The Requirements1. Enforced RP. No ooc chatter unless it's on a dedicated ooc channel that can be turned off. I played a game recently that claimed to be RP-enforced, but there was no way to turn off the ooc channel.2. I'd like a reasonable playerbase. I'm not going to get fussy about numbers, since the popularity of MUDS is declining, but I don't want a game that feels empty half the time.3. I'd like a variety of organizations to be apart of, especially when it comes to religious affiliations. Games where you can be killed because you're not a part of the state religion don't give much room for storytelling, in my view. No offense to those people on the forum who play the inquisition. I play there occasionally, but it's not my cup of tea. I'd like these orgs to be player-controlled, though I won
9;t stress the point.4. Advancement based on one's merits, not on how often they bash monsters. I'd prefer it to be levelless and classless, but if it has interesting, nonviolent ways of advancement, I'll give it a try.Requests1. detailed crafting2. lots of lore, the more intricate the better3. interesting char creation4. A reasonably-sized world to exploreThanks.

Careers for blind gamers

Hi. I keep telling myself that I'll look at some job boards, but I keep spending my PC time playing games instead. I love games, and I was wondering if there were any career options for a blind person who loves games. I thought about making my own games, but I don't know how to code, and professional gaming caught my interest, but I don't think there are any leagues for audio gamers.  I love gaming, and I was hoping there was a way to turn this time waster into a few bucks. I realize I won't be raking in loads of cash, but I'd like to find a way to make something out of a thing I spend most of my time doing. If there are groups like this for audio gamers, what games do you suggest I try out? I have a windows 8 PC, so something that's accessible and works with that would be great. I love MUDS, but I'm also trying to develop my skills in strategy games. Thanks.

Re: Problem with mitkemia online

I think I'm done with iron realms. The only two games that keep me a bit interested are aetolia and lusternia, but to me, they don't live up to the advertising on the web site. I have some misgivings about starmourn, and I hope I'm not proven right. Lusternia makes you pay a load of gold just to buy a small aethership, so I'm worried that travel between planets will be like aether bubble travel in Lusternia. Especially since space travel is important to the theme. And please tell me its not a grind fest. They can say whatever they want about getting what you want through more work and determination, but I still think non-paying players are at a steep disadvantage, and the roleplay's not up to snuff to me, scenes are few and far between, and there don't seem to be enough options who want to live a unique lifestyle. Which leads me to my next question. How can I make my time in lusternia fun? I love the rich history and the cultural differences, but with
a lack of roleplay, there's not much to do for a newbie other than grinding. I'd like to enjoy the theme and setting more. Lusternia's my all-time favorite game, though. If you want to join the beautiful cultural detailing the world has to offer, look for me in game. My character's name is Kioha, and she'd love some deep RP relationship. I love the bloodbonding system, if you're at a high enough level and you've played long enough, you can bring them in as your sibling, or get married and start a family! Join the RP events! Something's going on now with a plague, but I missed the beginning of it.

I think I'd like something where managing people is the goal. Money pours out of my hands like a rainfall, so I'm definitely sure that something based on the economy of a whole city is going to be a bit tough. I used to play a similar game with my sister, but it wasn't built for a screen reader. It was basically taking care of a whole village, giving people tasks and actually watching them grow up and have children. I know castaways is the closest to the game I'm picturing, but I can't install the components it needs, so I guess I'm stuck with browser-based. I've tried EmpireMUD, but I think it's tough. One thing they don't tell you on the text map is that there are loads of aggressive creatures wanting your blood. I died three times, almost back to back, so I decided to call it quits. I miss my Windows XP computer. Aprone's games worked on those just fine, no drivers to deal with. Thanks for your help.

I still don't like the idea of grinding to get skills, and I'd prefer it if the crafting skills were open to everyone, with plenty of direction on how to get started. I've tried TI, but the RP list gets thin at times, and I've tried new worlds, but the idea of only one or two guilds being able to craft doesn't sit well with me. Any ideas, let me know.

Hi. I battle with severe depression daily, and I read that artistic _expression_ could take the load off. I have frequent writer's block, and I don't have any supplies for other art forms, so I decided that I might have a go at mud building. I don't plan to open the mud to the public, I just want to take some of the load off and get some of the artistic juices flowing. I have a problem, though. I have a copy of the pre-compiled version of smaug for Windows, but the building commands seem so elaborate that I can't get my head around it. I've also experimented with coffeeMUD, but I don't have admin rights, so I can't install java and the JDK. To get to the point, I'm looking for one of two things. One, a MUD that offers several forms of artistic _expression_, without a lot of forced grinding just to access the skills. Or two, a codebase for windows that is easy to set up and easy to run, with lots of different options for designing areas as I wish
. I've tried building on other people's MUDS, but my depression eats me alive and I just don't feel motivated, so I need something that's for my eyes alone. Thanks, and if this is in the wrong area, feel free to move it.

Pet Breeding Games and Life Simulations

2016-06-27 Thread AudioGames . net ForumGeneral Game Discussion : LadyJuliette via Audiogames-reflector

Pet Breeding Games and Life Simulations

Hi! My gaming choices have been really limited since I don't have admin rights, and the small selection of games I can play don't entertain me much anymore. Are there any good life simulations or pet games? I'm especially interested in the breeding part, watching new creatures be born and thrive. I've tried Aprone's games and they're great, but I can't access them because of the lack of admin rights. Other games I've tried include psypets, monster breeder, puppet nightmares, and alter ego. Neither of these hold my attention, either because I don't know what kind of pet I have, in the case of psypets, or having trouble accessing portions of the page with NVDA, when it comes to puppet nightmares, and the creatures in monster breeder seem to live on endlessly, I don't know whether that's a code issue or not. I've also tried out furry paws, but breeding pets for show isn't my interest, and there's little to do in th
e game besides that, it seems. I've tried the pet games listed on the whitestick site, but they don't seem to be very accessible. In short, I'd like a pet game with a detailed system similar to psy pets or puppet nightmares, and I'd like it to be browser based, since I don't have a smartphone. I'm also looking for a good, replayable life sim, and if anyone has any suggestions for either of these two requests, I'd like to hear them! Thanks!

Puzzle games no install needed

Hiya! I'm interested in some puzzles, but I don't have admin rights, so I need to be able to run them without installation. I'd really like to play Aprone's games, but like I said, I don't have admin rights, so I can't run the checkup files that come with them. I really wanted to try out pawprints and lunimals. Lunimals and castaways always kept my brain on fire! Thanks for your help! I'm running windows 8.

Re: D groups

I'd like to see a game started, so I'm willing to try and be maze master, but I request that you be a bit patient with me, leadership isn't my thing, and I'm a real newbie when it comes to RPG's. But I've got a thing for M, nothing against D and Pathfinder, I was always captivated by Greek myths when I had to read about it in school. And besides, I've always wanted to try out their random generators with other players. There's nothing like exploring a randomly-generated city or island, never knowing what you'll find. I need a quick suggestion though. The PDF reader that came with Windows 8 isn't accessible to NVDA, and I can't install anything, I don't have admin rights. So I'd like to convert the PDF files into text files, so I can listen to them on my reader. Do you have any suggestions when it comes to tools that can do the conversion, while also keeping the format of tables and what not. I've bee
n converting the PDF to HTML and then from there to text, but I was wondering if there was a quicker way. Thanks.

D groups

2016-03-10 Thread AudioGames . net ForumGeneral Game Discussion : LadyJuliette via Audiogames-reflector

D groups

Hi! I have a copy of the basic D 5e rules, and I'm looking for a group to join. Failing that, I'd like to play mazes and minotaurs. That's my preferred option, because all the books are freely downloadable. I don't feel comfortable being a DM or maze master because there are so many rules and it all seems so overwhelming. I've tried looking for a group on roll 20, but their virtual tabletop isn't accessible, and I don't want to be a double hindrance, barely knowing the rules plus being unable to roll the dice. So I decided to search in the audio games community. Would anyone be interested in forming a group to play either game? Thanks.

Re: Achaea and mapping

2015-06-03 Thread AudioGames . net ForumGeneral Game Discussion : LadyJuliette via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Achaea and mapping

I dont play Achaea, or any of the IRE games often anymore, since to succeed you mostly have to pay, and most RP events are combat-related, and thats not the sort of MUD I want to spend time in anymore. But I have one trick that may help. Im not much at geography, and I ocassionally got lost trying this, but it was mostly helpful. If youre looking for an area out of the wilderness, read the help file on the area. It usually mentions another area nearby. What I tried is trying to find the nearby area and start exploring from there until I found where I wanted to be. Sometimes, I could find a landmark to that area, but mostly, Id ask on the house or city channel how I can find the area, and Ill usually get some general directions. From there, its just a matter of exploring. But sometimes, if you let people know youre looking for a certain place, they might offer to take you there. I usually add a landmark, and I know thats n
ot what you mightve been looking for, but since a lot of hunting areas never appeal to me, its easy to avoid using all my landmarks on them. In the wilderness, I start off by moving in the general direction the help file for the area suggests. Youll have to change direction to deal with the terrain, but youll learn about that as you explore. A few notes, before I end the post. You wont see what youre looking for when you first get in and survey. Im not sure if youre familiar with the wilderness, but its millions of rooms. Finally, if you already know this stuff, thanks for reading anyway. It was good to try and help out, and I hope you have fun!
