Lol, I could argue that had I not released the oh shit runner, none of this would exist. masonasons wrote:To clarify, I personally don't care, I just think it's kinda funny how as soon as I released endless runner, then boom you have perilous marathon and then boom we now have this thing. Re: two new releases

Come on man. I'm so sick of seeing new release topics without descriptions. I immediately don't want to download your game because if you created it, and you're not effortful or creative enough to write it a description, then I don't know if you're effortful or creative enough to make a good game. Also -- though I'm not against releasing betas, look at Crazy Party and games in the past like Redspot, those were betas for a while or at least not yet version 1.0 -- they turned out well. So many games though these days seem to get released without much content in them (very little developed). It can't be that hard to get a beta team. I'm abnormally paranoid, notably reclusive amongst the community, yet I have a 10 member beta team.Take these little steps if you want positive responses, instead of "what the hell" and "yeah... no."

Yeah but what I'm saying is that maybe Liam can write an alternate world where they release a new Red Dead dlc where you can be the zombie going after humans. Like really give the dead a chance to redeem themselves. I mean... apparently I make games about pies getting thrown at people bouncing on pogo sticks as they try to outrun pigs and donkeys and die in rock slides. So ehh... not too far flung I guess.

No, now you *have to* include a minigame. It's one where you come out of a grave as a zombie, and take over the world by killing all the humans before they can shoot you down. If you die in zombie form, the game is over - no second zombie life. Haha. You should call this game Fred Dead redemption. The starting screen should begin with the opening lines-ThisIsYourGrave!

Re: Mailman has been released!

I'll admit my criticism was harsh, but it was to the point. If a "big developer" turns away from the blind community because they witness backlash against games like this, then I'd have to question how they ever made it "big" in the first place and thus consider such a scenario highly unlikely. Remember: we're dealing with a situation wherein the user is expected to pick up on unspecified, unique world logic using almost purely guess work until they learn the rules that in most cases do not conform to those of the real world, assuming the user has never dealt with a crazy party like game before.I can understand such concerns when it comes to needless mud slinging and flaming, however in cases like this where people are (for the most part anyway) just trying to explain their frustrations, that point is pretty much bogus in my opinion.

@78:I can't comment on revelation, because I haven't played, but I can comment on the others. The BK series did indeed tell you what to do. The tutorials (stage 0) literally gave you examples of enemies, platforms, items etc and told you what to do when you encountered them, and then made you practice that. Through the English translations you got even more of this information, as the story line would tell you how each of the individual enemies worked almost to the tune of like 75% completeness. I did not play BK2 without any English what soever. I've always had at least the tutorial explained to me even if the English was mangled. This would explain why BK3 is the most popular game of the series, followed by BK2, and I almost never hear of BK1 these days and that's how it's always been since I've been here. And if you didn't know the first time, you'd figure it out by the second time - the difficulty was not in not knowing what the hell was going on, but knowing what the hell was going on and figuring out a strategy to defeat it. (As it always should be). AAC told you what you'd be dealing with and how to do it - and if I'm not mistaken, it even had a learn game sounds menu. Any of its surprise challenges (the pit where you had to jump from platform to platform springs to mind) were constructed from already familiar elements, but you just had to figure out how to defeat this arrangement of said elements. That is not comparable to this game, since we're given both unfamiliar elements and game play, and unfamiliar arrangements of these unfamiliar elements to figure out. The first layer of unfamiliarity should not be a thing.Again I can't comment on revelation, but I think I've proven that the other examples you gave here are well off the mark - and your "it's everyone else who's the problem" approach makes me glad you're not this game's developer.

Re: Mailman has been released!

It's funny. When I created Oh Shit, I honestly didn't expect many people to play it. If you could see the code base, you'd know how horrible it is - laden with spaghetti code and all sorts of no nos.I originally coded it because I wanted to make a spin off of a CP game that was similar to an idea I've always had - a game where things fell from the sky. For some reason, I'd always wanted to create a game like that, lols.Still, I had to assume that even though I was making it like some cp games, even though it was a side scroller with even the same interact key, even though it was using the same sounds, not everyone would know what to do. I made a game that was based off of a cp concept but which used *none* of the original code. Why should players expect that I would make everything work the way it worked in CP?Also, what about the people who never played CP in the first place?I'll admit, there are some Easter eggs and stuff in Oh Shit that are not told to you. People still don't know exactly how to unlock the runner. In terms of the game though? I think everyone's pretty clear. I tell you - move left and right, avoid falling rocks, get the items they drop, jump pits and avoid cannon balls, and get power ups. This isn't hand holding; a paragraph of text won't help you survive for 10 minutes. It'll just help you know... how to play the game.I tried Mail Man. I read the first post, and the read me. I know what you said about it, and I know what you actually get when starting the game because I played. Deliver mail and then you'll have other stuff to deal with makes it sound like delivering mail will be the main course, like you'll spend most of your time doing it, and the other stuff will just be extras. No, the other stuff was not the extra, it was the main course.I played for 3 minutes. In that amount of time, I walked around picking up blingers, killing ghosts because I happened to play CP and thus know that the little laughing things can be smacked down with my sword, avoiding trolls because again I played CP and know that those can't be killed, pressing enter on things and hearing weird noises, getting killed by I'm not sure what because my screen reader got interrupted, getting transported to random rooms with fires and fountains and doors and something which I *think* sounded like a factory?Oh yeah, and also there was a mail box. I think it was a mail box - because like in CP, it sounded like someone tapping a pencil on a window. At least I saw it within 1.5 minutes of starting the game. Even still, I didn't know what to do with it, and I've probably clocked in hundreds of hours on CP over the years. Give me the name of any of the 230 minigames and I'll tell you the description without looking. This isn't fun, dude. It's one thing to be cryptic - as someone who develops Oh Shit and Scramble, you best believe I enjoy being cryptic. I have plenty of cryptic little bonuses and such in Scramble that I want people to find, but I'm providing a manual that explains the game and its purpose. Even the most cryptic CP minigames give you enough instruction to figure them out.You want your game to be cryptic? Give us a cryptic objective or a puzzle to complete. But for god's sake, tell us how to even begin playing the damn game! Just a key summary doesn't work in this case - especially if your players haven't played CP. I know for a fact that people who don't play CP have played Oh Shit.

Re: Oh Fuck! A spin off of Stevo's Oh Shit, in 3D!

Hi guys,I thought I'd chip in here, since I've seen some posts that suggest that some opinions are waited on what I think of this game being here. I will not ask that Mason take the game down - he did admit this was a spin-off and hey, if I can help people evolve game ideas into better game ideas, I'm glad I can do that. There's always the personal side of me that says hey, make your own thing, don't copy me! But I realize that this type of thing happens everywhere, and realistically... I got my idea from crystal rain in crazy party anyway. Crazy party got its idea from Mario party. Who knows where Mario party got their idea from... but I'm sure it was inspired by something. Endless runner is also very similar to certain aspects of constant motion and constant motion is similar to blinded guide, as well as other games in crazy party. And in fact, Sam can correct me on this if it's not true, but it was right after I made the oh shit runner that sam said, "I want to make a runner type game." And then was born Cm.It's like the evolution theory that we all had a common ancestor - but look now? So many different walks of life evolved from that that it's not even funny! Honestly I thought of a 3d oh shit, but I never felt like making it since Scramble came in to mind.If there was one complaint, I kind of wish he would've maybe asked me if I'd have an issue with this or not, but that's not even a major complaint and I don't hold a grudge for it. Realistically he didn't have to ask me, that's just my paranoya / worry or whatever talking. I also do worry that if more of these get released before Scramble, nobody will want to play Scramble because they got tired of these games like Defender suggested. Even still, that's on me, not other game devs. I don't have a right to stop people releasing games because I haven't released mine. So I know I complain at you Mason, but that's when I feel you're doing stupid shit. I don't think you're doing stupid shit now. You haven't done wrong to me in this game... keep it up.

The only difference I can gather is that you don't have a chicken, so it's like the classic mode with super egg hunt, and there are items for spawning clocks instead of them just spawning manually, and the only other difference is that there is an item for speed boost instead of 3 eggs being collected.Literally super egg hunt if Liam were to change 15 lines.

Therefore, there will always be that small chance that it jumps up and gets eaten by a bat, and if you're controlled by it... there goes your game. This coming from someone who likes to create evil power ups to mess with people, there is a limit to that. There should always be a way - a choice you could make to get out of a situation, rather than a random roll of the dice that says, "game over." and there's nothing you can do about it.

I'm going to make a game, called Oh fucking god damn shit ass mother fucker! In this game, you will have to run forward and backward, jumping the rising rocks and ducking the falling cannon balls. Oh, and I might put random cats on the map that bark at you, as well as pits that catapult you up into the jaws of a cannon on the ceiling when you step in them. And then you get fired out of the cannon like a circus clown, only you're not trained so you break your neck when you hit the ground. And then we have the power ups:super speed... decrease, invinsibility... to health items, pit cover... area expansion, rock storm... reprieve for 25 seconds before they all rise around you for the rest of the game.Oh and if you survive for longer than 3 minutes, you lose all your points, and get a chance to post on the scoreboard. Yes, the game will end and let you post your 0 points to the board. Die though? And you get to maintain your score, but you only get to post it if it is not in your local top 10. It has to be lower. Haha!Mother... fucker!

Similarly, they'll be especially aware of the importance of making a financial return on the hard work you do, because they or their parents obviously have to work hard for the money they do have since there's not much of it.  And knowing these things, they will not plea for a developer to hand out free stuff under the pretense that they just want to help everyone out who can't pay, instead of showing their true motive, which is just wanting to be handed free stuff.I want some Mcdonalds off of Uber eats tonight, but no way. I can't pay for it right now. I'm on a tight budget. Should Uber Eats offer free meals with free delivery then, to college students who don't have jobs?Yeah no. Because then, what about the people who work for Uber Eats?

Well, I hope the game modes get added in. However, I also think this was released way before it should've been, like it seems like things are being scrambled to get done that should've been done way earlier. I don't think it's unreasonable to pay $5 to unlock the game though, just that the release was hasty and a bit unorganized is all.

Re: branble takes a walk through the morning bramble bushes

I agree with you Musicalman. Also yes, I drew up a very tentative outline at the beginning of the project. That has actually kind of been the pattern of this game's development; I draw up a base outline, think on it, begin implementation and experimentation, and change the outline a little bit. So while I knew I wanted to add showdown, and that it would entail the destruction of the cannons and or throwers, I didn't have a completely concrete plan, just the stuff I'd written in the base outline. So the other day, I decided to sit down, and seriously think: what can I do to make this mode fun, different, and offer something that none of the other modes offer? See we have normal which is conventional, rigged which is a bit more difficult, insanity which is a kind of bonus mode based on a powerup in rigged, flat scramble which is without platform, survival which is not only rigged, but rigged with no health increases and just enough health to be considered alive, and of course the minigame... so what can showdown do that is different? And that's what I've been doing. Ultimately I'm very satisfied with what I've done, I just want to do as much as I can to make the player experience a good one, and not only have fun myself, but make the players feel their money spent was not on some half ass rigged together clunker. But also, there is an end goal I want to reach, and I'm doing what needs to be done to get there, if only watering the plants on the side of the trail to make the place a bit more interesting. Scramble is still what I've always wanted it to be, but evolution and deviation... those make things more interesting and unique. Tell me one big project that has stuck fast with no deviations, to draft 1 of its initial design plan. Ruff, first day of brainstorming, draft 1 that is.

Re: branble takes a walk through the morning bramble bushes

@Orial no, I've known I wanted to add the modes I've wanted to add since the game's conception, with the exception of the er... minigame, and insanity mode. The showdown mode has always been planned, though I never took the time to sit down and say "look. What exactly, are we doing in this mode?", and then mode 8 is a cheat mode. The only other mode I can think of implementing is an enhanced version of the minigame, but that's just a slight maybe, and other than that I'm about done. I actually have other game ideas I want to start working on once Scramble is completed, so I'd rather not dilly dally on this one too much. It has main end goals with some minor deviations throughout the process.

@Orial yeah, I personally feel like that's my niche in terms of game development, to make games like that which prove that games don't have to be super complicated to be fun. I made Oh Shit and am making Scramble because they are games I enjoy playing. Also funny you bring up the game seeming done, it's not necessarily but I was just going over the design stage of mode number 7 and possibly 8 which I think people will find a lot of fun. Just finished typing up the outline for it a bit ago. So we're not there yet, but it is definitely not abandoned. I just needed to take a 3 to 4 week break from coding because I didn't want burnout.

And guys, I'll clarify once again that I have no problem what soever with him creating a game similar to Scramble. I've played it and heard demos now and I can definitively state that aside from a couple things with the same names, the fact that you move around and can jump, the fact that you get items, and the fact that there are powerups, the concepts differ from there. I won't even include achievements and stats in that list since every arcade audio game and its mom has those features implemented. I have no problem with the game play. I have no problem that it was released now because Sediment's right - technically, he heard my game idea and decided to release something inspired by it, when he felt it was ready to release. Orial was valid in his concern that I haven't been working on Scramble, because I have given no release date and I haven't told anyone aside from my testers and friends how close to completion it is, so that's all he has to go on. So yeah, I figured I'd get those things out of the way.As for the name thing, here's why I have a problem with it, and I hope it will clear things up.Someone brought up ah hell and ah damn it. Yes. Those are both crazy party themed arcade titles with obviously similarly themed names as oh shit. However, Sam and Carter created them, both asking... "Hey dude. I know that you just released Oh Shit... and I was wondering if I could make a game called (game name), or would that bother you?" I told them yes they could, and we were all going to create a package with all three of those games and make it kind of a collab sort of thing. We didn't though because Carter said oh hell to ah hell, and quit working on it. Sam released his though. But here's another thing about those games. Oh Shit, Ah Damn It, and Ah Hell, those were also 3 similarly themed but differently featured games whose goal was to pis off the player as much as possible. That's why I called it Oh Shit in the first place. However, Scramble? That was called as such because of my original vision of the game - scramble to get as many items and avoid as much as possible before the pit swallows you whole. Fight against an ever decreasing amount of time to scramble... and get the highest score possible. But Branble did even less to conceal its similarity and obvious taking-after of Scramble than ah hell and ah damn it did of Oh Shit. All he did was replace a few letters in the game name. Just take the SC, turn it into BR, and take the M and it becomes an N. There ya go. The name is a complete rip on the name Scramble. And to circle back and tie these together,  the oh (or ah) swear trilogy of games had sufficiently different names, rather than Branble vs. Scramble, wherein Branble looks like "Bran's Scramble." I hope I've made that point clear, and not confusing... believe me I tried. So you see, it's not one of those "illegal" things to do. It's technically not stealing. It's just one of those low, kind of slimy things that personally, my morals would prevent me from doing. I won't argue that it be changed on my demand or claim rights to the game name like I have some kind of patent for it, but as an equal forum user on a level playingfield I will come forth and express my displeasure. That's all. And because that's all I came here to do, I will not hijack this game's topic any further with this issue, as I believe I have reasonably said what needed saying. I know that game topics with drama and or flamewars are extremely unattractive to potential viewers, so I will not be the one to boot one up here over a minor issue. I'm not just "ducking out" of an argument as it were, - if Bran or someone else has a different take on this I'd be happy to listen and agree/disagree with it, I'm just saying I won't keep bringing it up as an issue.

I will start off by saying that from the recordings/demos, I've actually quite liked this concept. In fact, my next podcast will probably be a side-by-side comparison of Bramble and Scramble, to see how they differ / are similar, etc. However, and this is the only part that slightly bugs me: the name. A bramble is a thorny shrub or vine. This game does not have anything to do with navigating, removing, or otherwise dealing with harsh vegetation. It is therefore obvious to me that the name Bramble is an obvious rip on the name Scramble... and that does bother me a bit because it's like "Oh... know that game Scramble? Let's make a similar game to it (but not too similar...), oh and let's call it... Bramble! Mwahahahaha!"-So I could make a zombie shooter with several differences, and call it Stwamp since I'm Stevo and it's like Swamp.-Or a PVP called Red Square, only that it doesn't have claymores or bullet bombs and there are AI enemies on the map and bases are more than 1 tile wide on the map and... oh yeah we use metal to build them.-Or an arcade crazy party type called oh damn, but where mosquitoes actually fly and dive bomb you. Come on Sam, why do mosquitoes walk on the ground anyway? -Or how about an rpg called Echos of Stevia? Sorry, I just had to. I'm not actually mad you guys. I'm not claiming that Bramble is copying off of my ideas. In fact, I'm glad that my idea has sparked hopefully another type of game or rather an augmentation on another that could perhaps be a little better. I'm still going to release Scramble as planned. Bran did not take my source code or my game name fully, so it's all good. Most of that above was humor, though it did illustrate why I am at least a little bothered with the name choice because it's so blatantly obvious. Come on, everyone can tell it is.[edit: I may be corrected in terms of the game name - it could be Branble or Bramble, I've seen it referred to as both and Bramble was the name used by sediment and others who demonstrated it on Any Audio over the past few weeks. That's why I've assumed it is called Bramble.]

Re: IDT balling by the IDT group!

Hi Kianoosh,Definitely a great concept! Keep up the work guys! I love games like this and I love what this brings to the table. It gives the player more incentive to make good sure they hit that ball or else, thus adding an element of intensity to it. Honestly, it's quite promising!I do have a few suggestions though.1. The panning in the game seems quite jumpy for the genre. The volume step is fine, but the way the ball pans just doesn't quite feel smooth to me.2. I don't know if there's a key to announce scores or not, but if not can you please add one?3. The game just kind of tosses you in there without any adue, and so I originally thought I was listening to an intro when it first started. Also as a side note I'm not sure if the ball gets faster or not, but it does seem like the opponent is able to hit it every time. Perhaps this is just my lack of skill though. Keep it up though and I look forward to seeing what this becomes in future!

Re: Scrolling Battles, You're World, online platforming exploration game

That makes absolutely no sense. That is the wrong thing to do. You have no right to ban someone from chatting because what they say offends you. What about the other players who want to chat with him? It's not like he can ban you from chat for saying something he doesn't like... - an don't give me the "I host this game" argument. If you can't handle hosting a game fairly, don't host a game.

Re: Typerspeed 1.05 released with much needed fixes

Hi,this is an awesome first project! I can't remember what my first Python thing was, but it definitely wasn't something like this or any game for that matter. Rock on!Let me suggest a few things, though.1. When you first start up the game, there is a bunch of clutter because the game starts up, and then you get the, "Welcome to pygame 1.9.4! Visit the pygame community" followed by this really long URL. It actually prints two lines. And to prevent Pygame from doing that, you can go toc:\python37\lib\sight-packages\pygameReplacing python37 with your python ver directory. Then, go to __init__.py, and remove the last two lines. They're both print statements that print the above messages. You can always read them to be double sure before deleting though.2. Maybe make it so it spells every word, and uses commas between the letters?3. In addition to number 2, make it so that a word is announced, and then the timer doesn't start until the user presses enter to signify they're ready to type the word.4. When the game first launches, and maybe the main menu does read, but perhaps it's due to me skipping the URL that I don't hear what my options are. I interrupt the pygame welcome message with the arrow keys, and it just says choose an option, not what options are available to me.Thanks, and best of luck!

Re: Scrolling Battles, You're World, online platforming exploration game

Lol yeah not to mention, the thing with messages like that is it gives them basically the freedom to decide they don't like something, and ban for it. That message of the day has a lot of wiggle room, as it does not define any of the behaviors listed. It simply states that, basically, if whatever the admins feel is drama, or if they feel they themselves or another player is not having a good time, they can ban them. This could also be if someone says something that ruffles Mason's feathers.Hell, with the profoundly vast definition of drama used by Mason and others like him, you may get banned for passively aggressively stating opposition to someone's idea. Sigh and make them feel unsure of themselves? Who knows...

Re: Scrolling Battles, You're World, online platforming exploration game

I'm still banned for suggesting that the code might be sold to Charlie or Ivan on a bad day for Mason. Not sending eloq crashes, not speed hacking, not persistent harassment of one or more players, not spamming chat, not engaging in any other disruptive behavior... not intentionally doing things to lag the server... just saying something that pissed Mason off after I said something that pissed him off on Twitter. I mean unless... dying 10 times on the maze of hell or whatever that shit is called is an offense, because I did do that. The problem is not always NS. People often say you can run your game how you want - and yeah, that is true. However, setting in place certain moral standards only that they might be circumvented by the top dogs is just that, a dictatorship. If it's not, you will not ban players for offending you, because someone like say Braille0109 couldn't ban me if I decided to go on and tell him his map was crap, horribly designed, and that he should leave the damn basement and go do something more productive. Of course I'd never do that, that was just an example, since of course he couldn't ban me for that because he's just a player.

I wonder if Danny and his knights in shining armor blame all his problems on everyone else, or just in situations where there are people to blame? He wasn’t obligated to develop, so any hardship he incurred as a result of doing so is his fault. That isn't to say his personal life, which I figured in the 4 years I knew him very closely for is definitely not the easiest, but he's 22 years old. I'll say it again, he's 22 years old. Give it 3 months and that'll be his 22nd birthday, so I'm calling him 22 years old. If you haven't learned by then that lashing out at total strangers is not a good idea if you don't like backlash? I don't know what to tell you. He could’ve stopped at any time. He could’ve changed his contact info. He could’ve, you know, refrained from making an ass of himself in front of everyone like some angry, socially deprived prepubescent. So I don't want to hear about how people were sending packets over networks towards IDs he gave out publicly, and he couldn't shut them up. I can change my skype name right now, my email as well, delete my forum account... and none of you can say a word to me after that because you won't have my info. Will I do that? No, because I don't blame all my problems on everyone except me, and that's why I don't sit around with an I can't attitude when it comes to everything I pick up.So get off your high horses, and knock it off with the  martyrdom andd keyboard heroism. I find it rather funny that you guys accuse the community, like Danny, of fanaticism towards game developers, while in the same posts making yourselves look like... echo chambers of Danny’s words. You want to be on Danny’s side, flawed as it is, and put an end to this hell that he was “forced” to endure? Then knock off the knee jerk fanaticism and heroism. And if Danny wants to no longer be affected by any of this? Put down the god damn computer and go outside. I promise, the internet can’t touch you there. I promise!

In the past, and well I don't really blame him for it completely, though that's not to say I don't hold him at least somewhat accountable and am not sorely disappointed in the way he is choosing to behave. After all, this is a nearly 22 year old man with whom we are speaking; one who would've had the potential to become something had he tried. @Ethin while I can appreciate you sticking up for your friend, lashing back out at post 18 probably wasn't the best idea.  In terms of this code, however, I would not get your hopes up guys. I was in close communication with Danny at the time of DMNB version 1, and the number of memory leaks, lag spikes, and errors was insane. No one could seem to fix them. Not to mention, the dude was only coding in pure basic for what, a month when he started this? So the code he's putting here, if I'm reading right, is code he wrote 3 months after starting with pure basic. I would not have too much faith in it. I see why he released it, as some kind of move for closure, but believe me this is not some revolutionary game framework you just have to mod a little bit and get running. Please don't bother trying to get it working unless you are that, bored.

Re: Oh Shit!

Hi @BestInTheWorld and others with speech errors, there's one last thing I'd like you to try.1. Go to the run dialogue and type %localappdata% and press enter.2. there's a folder in there called temp. get inside that folder. You will find a folder in the temp directory called gen_py. Delete that folder, and then try running the game. This should fix your speech errors.

I've also gotten it to work where you get on that base's tile, turn like northeast or northwest, walk forward once, turn 180 degrees from that, and start beating the crap out of that base. Yeah.

And telling everyone to move on every 3 posts to this thread and calling people out for being the reason this game has fallen down? That's not moving on yourself. Now thanks for listening to what I've had to say here. I'll move on now because I have nothing more to say. Good luck to you all.

Hey, I'm not bashing anyone here. It just seems that there are a few people who are troubled by these events; I simply thought to comfort them by providing them with facts that they may or may not have already been aware of. Besides, I don't reckon anyone is getting too offended here, as the particular subject of these posts is likely not reading this topic anymore; if he was I'm sure he'd be able to let us know if he had some good reason for hiding and or felt like he was being bashed. While I can appreciate Carver trying to stick up for him, all he's done is reiterate what we already know... and what has clearly not been to most of our satisfaction.

Re: death match a new beginning v3

Honestly guys this is simply an ongoing pattern. It's disheartening that it continues to occur, but that said there's nothing and noone that will change it. If you enjoy DMNB and are disappointed in the recent events regarding its existence, just wait 3 more months. Hell... maybe 6 at most. It'll be back in some other form. If this next form doesn't get off the ground very far, at least it will get off and stay off for a short period of time. Then it will go down as have the others. But honestly I wouldn't wait around, because clearly this developer or group of developers has significant difficulties working together. Imho it's quite unethical to leave it up to one of the two people whom we can gather are the cause of drama to provide the community with updates regarding the game's status, especially when it is something as detremental as whether or not the game will remain in existence; where was the rest of this "six manned team"? We&
#039;ll probably never know why this game went down for real. But having watched this topic closely for months now I can only remark upon one thing: it is not one specific person's fault that this project is down. To avoid triggering the wrath of certain "veterins" if you will of game development, I will refrain from saying this was completely unprofessional, instead stating that it should have and could have been handled and processed much better than this, and that these games and game versions are just going to become ever less popular and taken less and less seriously as they progress if the people involved cannot get their acts together. Professional team / company or not, acting and going about things like children is no way to present oneself to a community. I've done it before and all it did was make me look stupid. It's not doing much different for this development.Bottom line, telling one another to shut up over the forum and blaming each oth
er for this and that, coupled together with the head developer suddenly ducking out of existence when things got hard, makes you guys look like a joke. Seriously.Ps. I'm sorry for all of that. I just felt like I needed to put my two-cents out for all to see. Anyways what's done is done, and this post won't change that.

er... Connor? I'm not really sure where that logic comes from, but it's quite a slippery slope if you ask me. Having a couple starter items to get away from op players so you can grab a couple things before fighting would not further endorse people to complain about starting hp and shields being too low. Firstly they've already and still to this day do it, and second I don't see how giving them items which would give them a bit more of a chance at survival would cause them to beg for more. And if some people did beg for more starter stats if this change were implemented, would it really be the end of the world? Or, could Sam just ignore them and decide not to do it?

Re: Redspot, blood and paril. First public beta released!

I do enjoy the game myself, but agree with some of what others have been saying here. However, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if people couldn't collect 83 K hp and use like 35 suicide bombs without getting hurt, only killing someone running from them because they don't have a chance. As it stands currently, the way suicide bombs work is that for low stats players, they're a suicide bomb. But for high stats players, they're an easy, too lazy to fight kill switch. Most of the other weapons are okay, because there is actually a chance of running from them, but not these. You just hear the noise, and you're dead, but the attacker doesn't suffer the loss of a single hp.Also I do agree about projectiles and robots. If not a cap, then something should be done to stop them from freezing the whole game up for everyone in a 40 tile radius. But guys, Blaze otherwise known as Alec Olson or whoever you guys are used to knowing him as on Redspot, stat
ed that Redspot was for the hard core gamer, the ones willing to put in hours of work to collect those items. As for me? I don't really agree... since even though it's fun to set up a base and defend it for a while, the main point of this game is, still, to kill and be killed. And that, my friends, it will always be.

@299 no, server's up and working just fine. If you were banned you'd probably have gotten a notification from the admins and you'd have known it, so you don't have to worry about that either.I have a suggestion of my own here. Right now, it is possible to get threw barricade bombs by, ahem, I won't tell people who won't know but there's a definite way. . Let's just say, I think it would be kind of cool if we could stack barricade bombs on top of each other. Not placing them in mid air, but on top of another barricade bomb or on top of the base itself. Also, temporary base cloaking would be nice. And just as another thought when making a base, it would be cool if you could bitcoin pay the black market to, um, per say, not
tell everyone it was just created, aka keep it on the down low.

Re: The killer

I agree with what everyone has said here.Imho, if you're going to sell a game, do so because you actually need to or were going to anyway, not for the sake of cheaters. Speaking from the prospective of someone who recognizes that costs come with making games and maintaining them, I understand the necessity of making them shareware most of the time. The times I don't understand it are when people do it because "It'll stop cheaters". It never has, it never will. In the mainstream, people will cheat on games much more expensive than the multiplayer games on offer in the Audio Games community. Your game is just that, a game. It is not entitled to some kind of set aside far fetched special treatment that no game, audio or video, has received.  I hope that didn't come off as rude, that was not my intent. I'm just trying to tell you like others have, that this is not a good idea. Expecting people to break out the big bad card and dish o
ut some money is not going to rid you of all of your troubles, unless you're okay with cheaters remaining and simply banning them over and over again so you can get some bonus cash. I wish some of these game developers, especially the young ones, could realize that.

Re: The killer

Hi, I have a few suggestions regarding vehicles:-reparation. It would be nice if we could drive our vehicles over to the store and pay to have the damage fixed.-weapon upgrades. The laser on the aircraft is not very damaging. The cannon on the tank fires slow. It would be nice if we could upgrade these weapons at the store.-a change of the control scheme. I don't think many people will agree with this, but just throwing it out into the open. W, A, S, D walk. Q and E snap by 45 degrees. Left and right turn by small degree increments to make aiming easier. F is the track key. Alt toggles running and walking, rather than needing to be held down because this makes movement limited, especially on the jumping front. Up and Down, not shift up and down, scroll the inventory. Shift enter can still be used to activate inventory items because enter opens doors and such.-Turning in vehicles. It would be cool if the vehicle turning worked like it does in GMA Tank C
ommander or similar.Just suggestions, not expecting them. So if it's impossible or would break the game, don't worry about it.
