Technically, you can trade with yourself on the same computer, but you have to have a second license, and run it under a second account. Then you'd alternate between the two accounts to do the trades. For most people this would probably fall under the category of doing too much.

The way I usually train is to max the appropriate attack stat first. So like a Mantasteel would have me maxing out strength first. Then if it has decent speed, I'll max that. If not, I'll usually max out hp. A Pandourbit is going to be slow even if you train speed, so after I'm done training strength, I focus on hp from about level 50 on. Sometimes you might want to play something that gets a couple of physical moves here and a couple of special moves there. In that case I split my training points evenly between strength and magic attack the whole way. As for the stat checker, what it tells you won't change for a particular mon regardless of what you train or how many points you spend. What it's telling you is the potential of each stat. Terribly underdeveloped speed simply means that speed will rise as you level that mon up and train, but not by as much as if it said remarkable. As for the life tonics and whatnot, whether you use those depends on if you like to grind up levels or not. I tend to spend time grinding up levels, so I rarely use these. If you're only going to gain a few training points, you're better off just getting the kills and leveling it up. On the other hand, grinding for hundreds of training points takes a while, so using these might be worth it in that case. Others will surely do things differently, but that's the way I do it.

Best I can tell, once you get your stats past a certain point, really the only thing that can hurt you is falling in pits. Some of the fights, like the orb, are just a slog. I was going to try and level the sword to 50. Isn't that the highest level? I thought it was, but I think someone also said it could go much, much higher. I wonder if they meant by cheating the levels, which is dumb. I have no intention of doing it that way. Playing it normally has just gotten painfully slow. I'm at 44 or something. If there's a faster way to do this without cheating, I'd like to know what that might be.

I may be one of only a few people who still play these games, but no matter. I've been trying some other things that I've overlooked, like grandlan and mondevol and deciced. These have all turned out to be kinda fun, actually. I just bulled through the first irroadium fight with these three. I figured I'd get a power kick straight away to get rid of deciced, but maybe I just got really, really lucky. Deciced didn't even get touched, and I was done with that fight in what I think was record time. I was almost tempted to try snowmonno, but I just saw a playthrough where the guy using it had to revive it at every turn. Gross. Maybe I'll switch out fiendour for mortrex or something.

But before you do that, you'll need the key to said treasury, which you get from one of the people standing in the palace. And I don't think you can get this until the king is dead in the story. Also, the chest you'll want to open will be the only one you hear ringing. Open the others only if you're curious, but there's really no point other than that.

I thought that's the only way you could damage it, so yes. lol I feel like it still takes longer than any other fight in the game. Not even the whole Rudolph fight takes as long as the orb. And it's not like it's really anything difficult. Kill whatever it spawns, shove it into the pit. Over and over and over again.

Other than having the no hearts upgrade and the one that increases the amount of caren (karen? caron?) you get, is there any other way to grind money faster? Or maybe a better question would be what things increase bonus points? I seem to remember grinding a lot of money in order to rack up bonus points in a relatively short amount of time so that I could buy all the upgrades for each playthrough.

An untimely miss will make me reload the game almost without exception. If I know damn well I can kill something in one hit, I expect to kill it in one hit. Not after it's gotten the chance to set up on me and drop my accuracy down and make me miss more and put status effects on me. I've seen martiagle kill dussoket before. That should never happen; never ever happen. You have sparking tail. That's a one hit kill. Not a one hit miss, and some combination of sandy wind and obscure making you miss more while it pecks you to death with fly or makes you use healing items because you can't hit the goddamn thing. So accuracy being raised on some of these moves is a good thing.

Noticed this in manamon 1 as well, but are things really meant to be frozen for 0 rounds? I'd figure if something gets frozen it would be at least one turn, otherwise it's just a couple extra lines of text. Also, that thing with the tamers upcoming manamon not being announced, and being given only a yes or no prompt, I wasn't sure what to make of that, whether it was a bug or maybe it was meant to be a secret what was coming next.

So I remember now why I didn't really care for dramegon before. It's kinda slow, and can't be used against certain things or it's just begging to die. You can't use it to fight irroadium at all. Not even a little bit. Maybe kinda sorta provided you've taken the time to grind it well beyond irroadium's level, which seems pointless and stupid. Guerrerrol is kinda fun to play except for when power kick is missing. But again, you can't fight irroadium with it because it's just going to be killed with toxic storm. I thought about trying orystar again but I remember this thing being kinda fragile, plus it doesn't get meteor rush until close to 50 I think.

Alright, purely curious what, if anything, anyone would change about this team. This is what I tend to take through the game starting from when I'm first able to use online functionality. I like it for the most part, but I wish I had a better way to get one hit kills on things like bayoowoof that almost always blasts me with daring comeback if the first hit isn't enough. I have leonatar, dussoket, eksponge, martiagle, enchandithol, and fiendour. Sometimes I'll switch something out for polosses for when I fight irroadium, but I've also just kept my team the way it was for that fight too. I'd like to try out guerrerrol, but really don't know what I'd get rid of to make room. I kinda feel like this team is as good as it's gonna get. The only thing that causes problems consistently are the misses. That and dussoket is de-balled up until it gets sparking tail, and eksponge is de-balled until it gets drench. I'm all for trying something different, but I won't try something that I already know is well and truly busted. I will never use a myaneko or viralite. If I tried to use these, or simulon or cragalem or a number of others, I'm pretty sure I would be banging my head on the floor within minutes.

Wow. Think I did better with damage on this run than I've ever done. I did something like 354000 and took 14000 or around there. Don't have exact numbers, didn't bother to copy the text. I'm sure some of that was from getting hit by things that shouldn't hit me because of misses. Shame he felt like that's one of the only ways he could make his game challenging. But a lot of that was also due to things being faster. Recobrah is always going to be faster than enchandithol or fiendour. Ninjarkon is always going to be faster than anything I would lead with, so that would either be enchandithol or martiagle. Then one of the tamers in this post-game thing had eksponge, which is faster than dussoket, so he gets to start out restrained. This ends up to be berserk with a twist. You get to do that final endeavor until restrain is done, and you can't heal or switch out to interrupt it. It's really kinda cute.

Figured I'd try a run in which I train everyone's attacking stat exclusively. This is quite nice. I mean once everything gets to about level 50 or so that is. Before level 49, playing dussoket is just miserable. Same with eksponge before it gets drench. It's just a slog with both of these from about level 30 right up to when they get their best moves. Wish I could find a better magic type than enchandithol. Grandlan seems more like an earth type to me with magic being secondary. Orystar seems fast but really weak.

There's certainly a lot funny about this game. Some of it story related, some of it related to game mechanics and design, some of it related to spelling and grammar. All this, and it was tested? More than once? By more than one person? Didn't anyone say "Hey, you know it should be sit, not set, right?" "You've got let lose written here; that should be loose." "Why does this move have an accuracy penalty and this other move that's pretty much the same but for a different type not have one?" "Why does the same move show up twice in this guy's moveset?" And so on and so forth. Certainly such conversations were had? I'm still finding gaffes like that as I play through with different configurations of stats and teams and whatnot.

Like I said, I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when all this was being churned out. I mean there's obviously a lot of things this game gets right or I wouldn't still be trying things and talking about it. But the things it gets wrong, it gets really wrong. I can't speak to pokemon and how they do things, but I hate games that present a challenge only because the wrong number came up on a dice roll. I'm not having to heal or revive or cure status and the like because the fight was just that epic and lasted that long. I'm having to do all that because of a miss. I'll just never be ok with that. I can kinda deal with it if it were something where you're missing because you're not very good at a skill, but once you train it up and perfect it, those misses will be a rarity, if you see them at all. but that's not what's going on here. Now, for something different. I want to respond to some of your editorializing because I can just to be silly, so why the hell not. You wondered how that tamer had a level 11 wormar or something I think? I'm guessing he got one in the wild and hadn't leveled it up yet. It is possible to catch level 40 something eagawks that way when they would normally transform at level 39 if you're playing them up. They'll transform as soon as you level them, but yeah. As for Dustin, I think it says something about a middle-aged man the first time you see him. As for the rest of that bit, yeah emo, emo everywhere. There's plenty of flying manamon around that tower I think, why doesn't he have one? What a ninny! The rest of it I think is just people doing things that people, uh, just don't do; from the "cool" kids right on down to the super-religious family. Even octoross' underlings all act in ways that people simply don't act. Wish there was just a bit more depth to the characters. Truth is, I wish a lot of things about this game. If there is a manamon II in the works, maybe some or all of them will be a reality. It seems like he's getting better at this as he goes. I mean, I paid for paladin of the sky, played it once, will more than likely never play it again. And manamon kind of seems to me what paladin of the sky could have and should have been even though it's based on pokemon. So there's that.

I wonder how he came up with what moves should have that accuracy penalty on them and which ones shouldn't? You'd think daring comeback would have an accuracy penalty on it but it doesn't. That's why I hate fighting things that use it. If you don't kill them with one shot you're going to be stuck in a loop of heal, daring comeback, heal, daring comeback, heal.

I don't think I got an answer to this, but does anyone know what level you can get things to before they start "ignoring" you? I'm thinking for after I beat the first stadium then trade for the team I intend to use the rest of the way. My last run through I just rushed through the first stadium, traded my team in and started them all at level 1. That was gross. How high a level is it safe to trade them in and start at? I know there's a limit but I don't know what that limit is. Is it 8? Is it higher than that? Also is there any equipment that I'm missing that might be preferable to the power bracelet? I've given eksponge the marine cannon, dussoket has the yellow star, fiendour gets the headstone amulet, leonatar gets the gravity magnet, martiagle and enchandithol both have power bracelets. Sometimes instead of the power bracelet I put the holy necklace on enchandithol so he doesn't get pounded with shadow moves. This usually ends up being scourge tail from recobrah or stuff from nyomanja/ninjarkon when they're faster than me, and it stings a bit. Am I overlooking something dumb? At this point I really don't think so but am asking just in case. I feel like that's really all the good stuff and the rest of it is stuff that has perks but the penalties far outweigh the benefits so I simply ignore it.

I also wanna know how you're able to max a stat when you're in the 40s or 50s, unless you train one stat exclusively? I usually divide my training points between speed and whatever its primary attack stat is the whole way through so I can go first and hit hard. And yes, weak to electric, sure, but it was still taking electric shock 2 or 3 hits to kill stuff. Hell it was doing just as much and sometimes just a little bit more damage hitting loonis with shadow claw as it was with electric shock. That's gross! And 30 minutes of breeding per team member sounds about right. I was at it for 3 hours or so. I think this is my best one, got it on the first try:Fiendour's Health seems Reasonable, I'd say it's closer to being great than not. Everything else checked in as remarkable, near perfect, and definitely one of Fiendour's strong points!With dussoket I went with this after 45 minutes or so:Dussoket's Health seems reasonable, but a bit lacking. Dussoket's Strength seems perfect, as good as it is possible to get I'd say! Dussoket's Defense seems remarkable, near perfect, and definitely one of Dussoket's strong points! Dussoket's Magic Attack seems reasonable, as far as I'm concerned. Dussoket's Magic Defense seems remarkable, near perfect, and definitely one of Dussoket's strong points! I don't know where the cutoff is so I left them at level 1 and used dussoket oblivion slash to get them all out of their own end zone.

The stat checker is there to tell you the potential of the manamon in question. So if it says terribly underdeveloped, that stat will go up as you level, of course, but it won't end up to be as much as if it were remarkable or perfect. At least, that's my understanding.

I'd say it's probably not a huge deal. That just means those stats won't end up to be as good  as if it were rated higher by the checker. All this breeding stuff is mostly for people who tend to minmax and squeeze every last bit of potential they can out of the characters. If you sit and breed them trying to get everything to rate as reasonable or higher, you're gonna be at it for a while.

So, dussoket is really, really hard to play without the moves it should have. Mostly this is sparking tail. He'll get this at level 49. Wow! That's really, really early! He's got electric shock at least so there's that. I guess that's one way of making sure people aren't tempted to try and trade for it sooner than they should actually have it. This alone makes mondevol or erroir better electric types I think. To me, this is just a shadow type with an extra type for additional weaknesses if its level is less than 49. Unless you're meant to spam oblivion slash on everything and have a bunch of skill drinks or something to reset the usage points?

Some of the things are needed in order to make others. Some of the weapons are like this. I think the cat spear is like that. You have to use some random things to make other random things to in turn make that weapon. I don't remember them all though. Rgarding the missiles thing, there's an interesting bug or something where if you die or have to start the level again for whatever reason, at least in 22-3 is it? Where you spawn right where the missile starts, and it's going the wrong way. So you have no choice but to get hit right as the level begins. It's not supposed to happen like that since it normally comes from the other end of the stage toward you.

I'm not understanding why I'm having a more difficult time with the endgame stuff than I remember having when I played this before. It was just a guaranteed win for me. No medical miracles or cure herbs or anything. I just breezed through. And I didn't cheat or level everything up to 100 or any sort of thing like that. This run had things like orystar outspeeding dussoket which meant I would start by either being killed with meteor rush, or doing the dreaded potion dance. I still win, but with considerable effort. And I know no updates have been made to this in the two years since I played last. Team is the same as it usually is so who knows. Maybe the misses are worse than I remember.

Alright I'm curious. On the manamon where you have items that boost their type attack by a percentage, like the sword of the undead and the yellow star and the like, is it better to have those or the power bracelet? Does the power bracelet boost attacks by 20 or 30 percent  or something by jacking up both attack stats or am I way off base? I know the bracelet makes a huge difference at lower levels. Not sure how huge it is at higher levels though.

It looks like I've made elvond into a one trick pony, that trick being magic wave. He's at level 55 and I'm guessing that's as good as it's going to get. With daring comeback and inner healing this looks like something that's just meant to take hits and set up an easy kill for something else on your team. Maybe this is one of those for a good daring comeback kind of team for online battles, which I've never done and most likely never will. At this point I'm leveling up stuff and looking through possibilities for other manamon that are still good and fun to play but different from what I usually run with. So I'm looking at stuff like guerrerrol and remullion and things like that. Leonatar with earthquake is really hard to pass up though, and I think the only one that gets earthquake earlier than this guy is tarboo, which I won't use.

Do you have a list of what mon gets what moves at what level? Such a list would be a bastard to create if it doesn't already exist, but I figure you might have made one at some point since you appear to have done as much if not more testing than anyone else who has posted here. Drench at level 45 for eksponge. Got it. That really, really fails. Maybe I should have just put bubble up there instead of water bomb in that case. It strikes me as odd that something that is immune to water type attacks is hit with the backlash from a... water type attack. I love this game but sure wish there were other ways chosen to make it challenging rather than dumb, blind luck and random misses at silly times. Not to mention all the penalties on equipment that totally counteract the positives, or worse. The rapid cloak comes to mind. This, just doesn't need to be a thing. Why would anyone use this thing knowing all the downsides to it? To make the game even more challenging? Hell get a team of all squirmunk or something. Make sure you only do ineffective damage and have type disadvantage all the time. All this, and you still don't even need that cloak in order to make things worse. Ah well. I'm more than likely just being a ninny about it at this point. I still hate misses as much as I ever did. Some people hate the irroadium fights, others hate the scaled fights. I think I'd rather have both at once as opposed to a miss. I'm quite simply not going to do the potion dance unless I get to lead. I'll do the damage, they can do the healing. You've written some different ideas of a good, powerful team, but how about a good, powerful, no-miss team? Seems like a dumb thing to even wonder about but here we are. I usually end up with leonatar, martiagle, either erroir or dussocket depending on if I feel like doing the trade thing, enchandithol, fauntozaur, and sometimes either polosses or fiendour. I've never tried tylovile, and banyardan just kinda seems blah to me. I'm getting way burnt out on sparking tail missing all the time though and want something better. I think jimitron has stuff that doesn't miss but it's one of those that's just begging to die. It dies in one or two hits of practically everything.

I know from the trades you did recently you have eksponge on your team. How'd you put up with water bomb for so long? This thing's level 43 and is still quite suicidal with water bomb being its main attack. Unless you count daring comeback. I don't because of what it requires in order for it to be useful. Where's drench? What about limb thrust? If I have to level this thing into the 70s or something stupid to get those attacks I might have to go back to the water starter or dramagon as my water type of choice.

Hmm sounds like I'm doing it right then. Those are the places I end up using. and malerine to grind up the mythicals sometimes. Bleh, I guess I'm kind of impatient and  get tired of grinding levels and using weak moves until something better comes up. Also, I know you said you weren't going to update the guide unless something major comes up, but I'll put this here anyway. So the house east of the equipment collector with the guy that says he's moving his family and asks about Seinarus Cranvel is where the person is who gives the life tonic. And then in malerine valley, that swimming area northeast of that girl making fun of her ex, has a level-up in a chest. Which I'm sure people can find simply by walking through and listening for it, but I put it here for the sake of completeness. There are a couple of other things like that in other places that I just stumbled on that weren't in the guide but it's just gold and potions and the like so really not a big deal. A level-up is kinda significant though compared to that other stuff so I mention it here. I also wonder if some of the items are random? That chest with 5k gold at the start of starwalk mountain doesn't seem to show up all the time for me. Sometimes it's just simply not there. I wonder if that level-up is like that? I don't remember ever seeing anything in that water before. I'm at shadow kingdom in this run now and have 15 level-ups. Plus I know of the 5 level-ups that are in that chest in the postgame. Might there be even more I just don't know about? I'm guessing probably not. 20 is a good handfull especially of something that can be bought with credits in the arcade.

That's how I would level things up to get transformations to fill out the manapedia and such. Irroadium is good for this with oblivion slash on the higher level stuff. But doing that doesn't feel like as much of a slog as leveling something up in order to bring it in line with the rest of the team. I'm not to this yet on my current playthrough, but the ice mythical is another one that tends to seem like a slog at first for me. I grind out enough levels until I can level herb it to frigid touch and then it starts to just overpower everything.

I know from when I last played this more than two years ago, that there were certain manamon that you could screw out of moves if you transformed them too early. I'm pretty sure zintrabat was one of these, the guide indicates mutmo is another. What I don't remember is, are there any others like this? If so, how many and which ones? I looked around with the search feature a bit just to see if it was already covered somewhere else in this thread and didn't see it come up.Some observations:Having started playing this game again, I was quickly reminded how much I hate random misses. I generally try to get one hit kills on most things to avoid extra complications like getting into a loop where it seems like I'm just hanging on for dear life waiting on the opponent to miss or do something dumb. So I tend to reload the game when I miss. The alternative sometimes sees me getting hit for big damage, healing, getting sleep or paralyzed or some other annoying status and taking it off. Rinse wash repeat. See above. Ditto. Refer to previous item. Etc, etc, etc and so on and so forth. Apparently I also forgot how bad grinding levels with pandorbit is at first. It's worse than slow and more than just painful given that all you get is soul split. There's also copy, which leaves you using bubble on water types or batter branch on plant types and the like. I got it high enough to get stone throw and then put it away as it's likely I won't be using it. I usually don't. Not sure what the hell I was thinking. Is there a secret to grinding levels on something quickly that doesn't involve exp pals or killing something with a move that will also kill one manamon and having a weaker one stand in to get the exp? Grinding isn't too difficult to be sure, but it seems like there's probably something I'm not currently doing that, if done, which would move the process along much, much faster.

Is it some of the elven stuff? That's the only thing I can think of that's newer. Depending on what and how much of it you get, it's basically godmode. Whatever attacks you will die before it even gets a chance to fight back. Even at higher levels. Even dragons and wyverns and the like. It becomes available at higher levels and is kinda rare.

Hmm some ninnyballs being pitched here. You absolutely can save Wilhelm. In fact, there's a side quest and a weapon or something that depends on you doing just that. The higher level thing with the wolves refers to there being less wolf encounters. At lower levels you'd get a lot of wolves with sorcerers and things like that in the forest. At about level 50 or so those are replaced with dragons and wyverns and the like, changing a rare drop to almost never. I tend to skip that quest at higher levels for just that reason. Though I think you'll still see wolves in the sewers.

A lot of the "fix this" and "change that" calls, at least for this game, are because quite a few of the characters and moves are just renamed mix and match versions of the same crap. If it's not that, then it's because some of the moves have an accuracy penalty for what looks like no good reason. That means that a normal fight could be anything from a one hit kill to an epic knock down drag out brawl based solely on dumb, blind, random luck. That starts to really grate the further along you go. If it's not either of those things, then it's probably the goofy spelling errors and silly grammar mistakes that you'll see sprinkled throughout. As for whether the game should be free or sold at a lower price, well, that's the developer's choice. As long as people continue to buy his games, he gets money for simply having them available for download on a server. To that end, why change it?

I think I'm building the melee characters wrong. I'm level 70 and have the magic characters doing damage of several hundred or even thousand hp. The ranger clocks in at about 20 to 30 hp a hit and is very , very slow... The thief does anywhere from 100 to 200 a hit usually. I think my build for them is gross. For the magic characters it's agility and intelligence and willpower to max first, then constitution, then strength and dexterity whenever I think to add them.  This probably isn't gonna work for a melee character, so for those I did strength dexterity and agility up first, then constitution and the rest. But now that I think of it, I never saw the thief and ranger as being useful for anything other than being necessary to complete certain quests or unlock certain doors or parts of an area and the like. Then once they had outlived their usefulness they stayed back at the inn until they came up in the conversations and dialog at the end of the game. They just aren't doing anything for me other than taking damage. They're punching bags, little more, and nothing less.

Well that'll just about do it I think unless more content is released or I've missed something. I'm pretty sure I've seen and done all there is in this game save for the minigames in the extras menu, which, meh. But I've played through from easy to desperate, played through the extra dungeon, done the afterstory, and seen what I think are 5 different endings between the two stories. This is probably not the most impressive data anyone has ever seen, but I figured I'd post the final results of my playthrough of desperate here for giggles. I tend to grind a bit for things like the 3000 monsters quest and having all my status items at the same number because reasons. I'm playing the afterstory now and not really sure where I'm supposed to go. I'm pretty sure it said something about the raw water cave? Wouldn't that be where I fought the serpent? If not there then how about that cave close by through the second exit that shows up when you kill the serpent and the water turns back to normal? It also said something about the castle basement and I haven't seen anything like that either. But no one else has asked questions about this part that I've seen so maybe it's just that obvious and I'm missing it every time I walk through. It just looks normal to me except for wind forest being locked off.

I'm listening to a playthrough of what I guess is desperate mode. The guy needs 500 xp to level up his sword I think and he has 400 hp. Are these memory hacks or do the numbers really get that big through normal gameplay? I've just finished impossible, have a level 15 sword and have 100 of all 4 status items. My hp and skill points are 1060 each. I just finished off another save and bought the eternal hope upgrade and need 15 xp to level it up. At the rate of what looks like 1 to 6 xp a kill, that's going to take a while, and that's just for level 16. Does it really go up to level 100? Unless metallic and desperate just give insanely huge amounts of xp, the idea of trying to level up seems almost too silly for words. What do you get for leveling up past 15? Are you really able to kill final form Rudolph on higher difficulties in 4 hits or less?

I just listened to part of a playthrough where they kept buying amulets from the juhuhu merchant and eventually it played music like they got some kind of reward. Is there like a quest for buying him out or something? What is the reward they got? It's in japanese so I can't tell. Or does it just stop selling amulets when you have as many as there are save points without recovery on them?

My purchases look like they're going to be exactly what they were when I beat easy and played normal. carry over sword level, recovery amulets, status items, money, bubble, and double xp. Then I have 6.5k left over. Surely I can do better. This is why I have two copies of a save when I get to the Rudolph dungeon. Just in case I beat the game and don't like what I see. I want double caron. Doesn't look like I'm gonna get that on this next playthrough either.

What are all the things that give bonus points? Is it true that you get more if you go through the game as fast as you can yet collecting everything there is? Do I actually lose out on bonus points by grinding and taking my time? I went through on normal this time and unlocked more of the game and picked up more items and still only got 25000. Does it get docked when you use saves? Does it go down when you die? If it's true that you get more by being both hasty and thorough that's gonna be tough. Those two things are normally mutually exclusive for me.

lol I guess I missed something while looking through the items in the shop. it wasn't clear to me that I was simply buying more pronouns. It said something about choose another person on the team or something similar to that. But like I said it was on a save file that I was going to be deleting anyway so I figured I'd see what it did. I listened to a playthrough where he said the faster you finish the game the more bp you get. Is that true, or just a guess? There's another one where the player had 4000 hp. Is that something I'm going to need at some point or was that just a memory hack?

I saw mention of a speed bubble or something like that. Now apparently I'm dumb and somehow can't use the search feature to actually pull up relevant results, so rather than continuing to guess what words I need to type in order to see more than 0 hits, or read through this thread from first to last, I'm gonna pull the lazy card and ask where it is, what it does, and how you get it. Best I can tell, typing shadow rine and virtually anything else guarantees I won't get any hits. Makes looking for particular things rather difficult.Edit:I think I found it. I guess it's just being called different things. Quick melon, fast bubble, speed marine I guess are all one and the same. What about the mental club? Is that another name for something I already have or something completely different that I haven't seen yet? One of the people I talked to said something about a place where things are 10 levels more and it would be a good area to practice in. Is that something that becomes available in a higher difficulty? I found something at 21-28 in the wilderness with a bunch of stuff over a pit and a chest with some caron in it, but it looks like a one time thing. As for going back in and picking up things left in boss rooms, I haven't seen anything besides the speed boost item in the wind forest. The dragon shrine outright says there's nothing here. There was nothing in the ruins and there was nothing in the door with the sign by it saying not to approach. Is this also something that becomes more relevant on higher difficulty? Is there a place to grind out some xp and caron? The things I'm fighting don't seem to give much of either. Or is that as good a sign as any that I need to finish the game with this save now that I've gotten a couple more things and see what kind of bp I get. Looking at the bonus shop it looks like there's at least one thing I absolutely must do, some things that I probably should do, and a few things that I could do if I had any bp left to blow. I'd like to get sword level, status items, money, bubble, dash, the special ability scrolls, and all the partners joining. Is it possible to get enough bp to do that on a first pass?

I've been playing Shadow Rine for a little while now and here are my findings. That caron/heart is in the lake or off to the edge of the field, you can't get it, so just keep it moving. That treasure box is surrounded on all four sides by lava/lake/walls, ignore it. If you need to go west, you're just as well to go east instead since the way west is most likely blocked by something forcing you to take the longest possible way around anyhow, so just go the opposite way right off the rip. Going around in circles is likely to yield results eventually, because even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. I'm hoping this gets better. So far I've logged 12 hours of tracing and retracing steps and backtracking. Yup, already talk to that guy. Yup, already visited with that girl. Yup, already read that sign. I'm not even sure what I'm meant to be doing. Going to find someone by a cave I guess? But I'm told to go around the lake. Like, all the way around? Like, as far out of the way as possible? by the guy who says there's nothing here anymore? I'm essentially grinding with ren or len or whatever in tow. Maybe that's not a bad thing. Do I get any new attacks or spells or skills or anything by continuing to walk around in circles and kill stuff?

This is probably the wrong place to post this, but I've got a bug in bk2 or something. once you clear 12-1 there's nothing left to do except ... quit. there's no objects to interact with, no doors, no way to complete the level. There's only about eleventeen  billion bk2 related threads I could have posted in, but those are mostly people asking the same couple of silly questions over and over and over and over and over. I see in @nyanchan's playthrough where he appears to type something or adjust something in a secret menu or something? I can't tell, but the door appears just fine for him and he's doing the same thing I do. Kill the generator on the left, all the robots in between, then the generator on the right and any robots left, picks up anything left on the ground and the door appears. I don't get that. There's no door. Someone was told in another thread to drop something that they can pick up when everything else is dead. How do you do that in bk2? There's no way to drop things. Am I missing an item or a secret weapon or something else?

I wish Carla were smarter. Right now, I'm watching her shoot her gun and launch rockets... at nothing. She's doing this because the map is cleared. So there is nothing for her to shoot. Nor is there anything for her to launch rockets at. And if she weren't doing that, she'd either be walking the entire length of the map or at one side or the other, walking in place. I really wish I could set a patrol path for her to stick to to keep her out of the way. Sometimes she's like dirty diapers. Not really all that useful.

I wish the item master was available sooner than it currently is. By the time you get it, there's little to no need to keep collecting things. Especially honey and mini shooters which is where the item master would be the most useful imo. I feel like this was mentioned much earlier on in this thread, but I admit to being too lazy to bother to look. Also, I like the item that automatically fires missiles at the barriers. It seems like it gobbles up quite a few missiles, but it's better than the monotony of shooting a barrier, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and another, and... I was never crazy about those levels as it just got old fast. I'd like to see a missile that's specifically for clearing barriers. Perhaps one that is penetrating but can't be used for anything else but barriers?

I think I found a bug, or at least something to be aware of. if you've gotten to stage 25 where all the levels before are locked, and you switch to a mode you haven't gotten to stage 25 on, you'll lock down your whole file. All the stages are locked including the extra menu.

Sometimes I wish Carla were a bit smarter. It is disturbing to see her walk the entire length of the map obliviously taking a pounding from everything she passes as she goes. I just watched her walk through the entirety of a robot's shooting range. Not once did she turn around and fight back. She just walked along taking a pounding until it could no longer hit her. This is why I try to clear out the area around her, leaving her to walk and shoot randomly while I kill things. This is also why I really love that I can now play those levels without her once I've beaten them initially.

A couple things: Is Carla meant to still be a part of 12-1 and 12-2 after you've beaten those stages? Those are the only two where I've seen she still has to be there. There probably aren't going to be too many people grinding in those particular stages but I wonder if it was a bug anyway. Also, my hours played is negative by 500 or so. Not a big deal other than I have to wait longer, a lot longer for certain things.

Was it meant that we can do any quests that increase some chosen stat once per playthrough and stack the reward? Seems like that would be a bug, unless there's some limit on it that I just haven't reached. I'd think since you can't keep unique equipment and fast travel and the like you probably wouldn't keep extra attribute rewards from quests either. Or there would be some kind of diminishing return on running them up or something like that.

My guess is that, if you're wondering which member in your party can locate plants, there's someone you still have yet to meet. And when you meet this person, you'll know it. There's a line in the dialog that tells you this person needs to be with you in order to help you recognize shrubs and flowers and other plants.

A couple things here. I don't like that when lord of the undead goes off, you get no xp for the kill. I guess it sort of makes sense though since it's an instant kill, but it seems kind of silly to have a knock down drag out fight with a dragon or something and ultimately get nothing for it. Also, I don't know if anyone else is as nuts as I am, but I've gotten far enough in that all my attributes are at max, so attribute points don't do me much good. It would be nice to be able to exchange the extras for expertise points.

This is my third time through the game and I'm still wandering aimlessly through the forest and ruins and temple and lumber yard looking for one last camp site. I swear I've cleared them all. I know I did. I'm sure I did. But if I go back to tell the captain the good news, no, I'm not done yet. I even marked them beforehand this time and there's still one. There's just one more. Still out there. Untouched, undisturbed, unmolested. Could I get an idea where they all are? I'm missing one. And it's always a different one each time that I have to wander around and find by accident.

The master forged warhammer seems grossly overpowered. But it could be other things contributing to that too. I'm on my third go around, and I tend to fight all the encounters unless I'm just trying to rush through something. So I'm up over level 100. Even still, the volcanic warhammer, which is what I've used when I've started the game, though powerful, does significantly less damage. Even on hard difficulty, the master forged warhammer is pretty much guaranteed to kill everything in one hit. The only reason it doesn't is because it missed...

When I need to kill something like that and not destroy what it drops as well I'll use the laser blade or whatever. the one you have to hold down the space bar to charge up. then get in range of the boss and just open a can. Imo the magical edge is really only useful for killing the ball since you have to be right up on whatever you're trying to hit. I wouldn't want to fight much else that way. Trying to kill an end-game boss that way seems like it would be making things more difficult than they need to be.

Are there only certain people who can use the hyper buster blade to block? Not the buster blade. Not the super buster blade. The hyper buster blade. Hitting r doesn't change anything on the hyper buster blade. Hitting r toggles between two modes on the buster blade. Hitting r toggles between two modes on the super buster blade also. Hitting r doesn't do anything while wielding the hyper buster blade. Does it matter how you wield it? do you have to choose it from the weapons menu? Do you have to have it set to a carried weapon slot? I hate to be such a ninny about this but whenever someone asks about it, the immediate and seemingly automatic response is to say press r to toggle it on or off. It doesn't work, and it's been known to not work for a long time, at least for me. And this is over several updates. I'm inclined to think there's a bug that will likely be fixed in a future update. But for right now, the hyper buster blade doesn't appear to h
 ave a blocking mode. I'd say if you need to block attacks, use the super buster blade, or the magical ball set to light mode if you have it

It seems like a lot of the items in the game are just sort of gimmicks. Is that what the kicker shoes are?

I never got it to follow me out of the tree. It seemed like the boss just stood up there and waited for me to come back up, and it was always a couple of tiles away, which is why I just usually balled it instead of trying to fight with it.

People are most likely going to call me a ninny for asking this, but, why is shadow mode a thing on the magical ball? I mean you have light mode, which blocks attacks like the buster blades do, plus you can use it to heal, but shadow mode seems like it just shouldn't even be a thing. Only my opinion, of course.

Well. I know what it's supposed to do in theory, but what I'm saying is that there doesn't seem to be a way to change modes on the hyper buster blade the way you can with the ones before it. And, in fact, it blocks absolutely nothing whatsoever. I thought hitting r would change the modes, but it doesn't change anything.
