Like the ones that aren't asking for cash, but are the IRS scammers asking you to go to Walmart and buy Amazon Giftcards (why would a store sell gift cards from its biggest rival?) or the FBI scammers asking for ITunes giftcards. If you can't figure that out then you just aren't thinking straight, there's no two ways about it.To be clear, I'm not saying all scam attacks are the victim's fault, far from it. Some of them are more convincing than that. What I am saying is the ones that are just so friggin unrealistic it's not even funny, people should not be falling for those. Re: My apoligice topic Regarding the actions of Braille being manipulative, I just don't see it. It's not manipulative to let something pass. Could he have stopped it, sure. But what reason would there have been to get that heavily invested. The others were playing a game, and Urh kept coming back after being kicked, then asked to spectate. The guy had several warnings, and even his signature was changed to reflect the state of the ban on spreading the stuff. If he hasn't developed the morals and values to keep himself from posting private logs, that's not Braille's fault. Also, if he couldn't even ask for proof that other guy was Jayde, I'm sorry, but that guy's writing style and Jayde's do not tally at all.Now, i know the guy is young. I even think he admitted to being 12 in one of his previous signatures, but at some point or another, you have to learn that your actions have consequences. Maybe he'll learn from this after his ban expires, and maybe not, who knows. But, we can't be excusing what he does forever. At some point, he just has to face the music.One final thing. I know there are a lot of non-native english speakers on here. But, here are two avenues if you don't understand something. The first is to copy paste the rules into a translator of your choice. Personally, I use Bing, because it produces better results for me. Second, if you have questions, None of the staff are going to tell you to fuck off if you PM them with rule related issues I'm sure. So, while there can be some leeway for non-native speakers, they also have the ability to have the rules made understandable to them in one way or another. Seeing as you have the complete log, we didn't threaten, or forced him. He was just told to send the topic, and his title will be changed. That literally was it. I have had manipulative friendships, and at times, more. However, this I would not call manipulation. He wrote the topic on his own will. He decided to do it the way he wanted. He decided to ignore our requests, and he decided to post his TK download link that he gave me. And carter decided to ban him as a result. Now if I told him something like unless you posted, I will blow up your home, uh, yeah, we would have an issue. If I told him something like if you don't post, I will report your TK link, which is still a form of a threat, but it's more of a manipulation, I'd understand that, too. Don't get me wrong, I see why you think that this is manipulation, since he was promised something he was never given. But then, seeing as he got banned, when you think about it, he did get the custom title. Since I was technically, even though indirectly, a part of the above troll attempt, I feel responsible to clear up parts of this whole thing, even though the log speaks for most of it.I was playing with a few people, when the guy joined us. Having recognised him, I wanted to test the guy's reaction, mixing in some troll attempts. He has instantly provided me with what I was asking for, so my guts are telling me he still actively hosts (can provide link to admins privately, if requested). Then, this other person, who I will not name without permission, said he was Jayde, and that he should post the whole thing on here, to get a custom title. While most people would know better than to do that shit, my guts were telling me he didn't. And I didn't want myself, or Kianoosh involved in the drama side, hence our request of removal. He not only didn't remove our messages, but he basically pasted the whole game log, claiming he didn't know how to clear out the log. Effectively, he claims he doesn't know how to copy and paste. But here's the legit fun part of the whole thing. The guy pasted the whole log, including his TK link! Yet he promised to have changed... Having seen that after he has posted, I can't say I feel much guilt. If he claims to change, only to contradict and paste the link, he clearly is not intending on changing, but wanted the title. Now with all that said, I would like to apologize for the unnecessary drama, but I refuse to take responsibility for him actually sending the topic. I think anyone who read the log will know that this was some harmless fun. Still, I do want to clarify the inconvenience of the drama we may have caused. Third, I try to keep moderation and reactions to the forum itself; I am not going to levvy a punishment on you if I speak to you elsewhere unless you are disclosing behaviour on the forum itself that can be linked to you directly (i.e., if you tell me you hacked a user and prove it, I may have to get involved). So...uh, I really hope this impersonation of AGnet staff stops. Like yesterday.3. Here's a fun fact. Many of you know this already, some of you maybe do not. If you play cloned games that you know are unauthorized, you are part of the problem. If you encourage others to do the same, you are part of the problem. And if you continue to be part of the problem, you are very likely to run afoul of the rules here. I'm not interested in equivocations or excuses. Stop with the unauthorized forks. Every moment you spend supporting them, directly or indirectly, is a moment you spend spitting in the faces of developers, spreading an entitled mindset and ultimately declaring that your right to do what you want trumps everything else. We can't stop you doing the things you do, but we can make your stay here awfully short if you continue to make these problems worse.4. I shouldn't have to say this, but I'm going to. Apologies are only meaningful if you stick to them. They're only meaningful if you actually intend to stop the behaviour which warranted them in the first place. If you apologize for a bad temper, and sometime down the road you show that temper again and re-apologize, well that happens to the best of us from time to time; the aim is to work on it and try not to keep repeating the same pattern. But if you apologize for being part of the whole cloning/unauthorized forks scene but in the same breath say you still play those games, it kind of renders your apology absolutely useless. Don't tell us you're sorry if you have no interest in changing your behaviour; that's simply a bad-faith attempt at manipulation, and I, for one, am having none of it. If you apologize sincerely and then try to make good on it, though, I have a ton of patience for that, so have on. We all make mistakes or do things we shouldn't, and expressing regret for your actions is a perfectly human and understandable thing to do. But for those trying to make excuses for your actions, apologizing under duress or doing so just to give the appearance of contrition, don't bother. Again, speaking personally here, I see right through it; it's usually not very difficult. You're wasting your time.
