About the hit sound, maybe they are too quiet to hear or the sound was too suttle for me to notice. In that regard, it would be nice if i can get a announcement or a notification that i hit a enemy. Because i did not notice i hit at all.

Hey computergamer. Glad you like the demo.Regarding the enemy hit issue. Every enemy has a sound effect for when they get injured. Is it just that those sound effects arnt intuitive enough or that you can't hear them? I'm wondering if they are too quiet. Although I did do a test to try and make the audio distancing better.Also. Yeah it should say a gold amount when you get a reward. I will look at that.And also I've made  a button to tell you your hp in the unreleased version that I'm working on based on all the feedback. Actually I've also made an entire menu you can access when you are in a duel. To tell you your buffs and status effects. Your spells cooldown times and some more details as well.A few other improvements that are implemented and currently being tested are. The training dummy idea. So you can test out your spells in a fake duel.Remaking the shops so you don't select an amount you want to buy. No one needs to buy two wands of the same type after all.More dialog skipping options. Some dialogs were unskippable.More in the help section about dueling and status effects and buffs. And that's all I can remember without my notes.

Hi! I finally got the chance to play this version of the demo. I really like the changes. I was now able to complete the quest the orphan. I was able to find the child, but had trouble witht he bear since i had no idea if i was able to hit it with my spells or not. That is also true to the other enemies i faced, i wasn't able to tell if i had done any damage and had to guess. Also, when i received reward from the quest where i had to help the farmer, i didn't get any announcement what i got. I got a sound for getting money, but no narration of how much money i got. I feel the menus are quick to navigate now. I would like a feature to know how much hp i have left. The walls sounds are good for telling me when i hit the walls. I like the sequence training, but that is just me since i am really good at remembering things. I didn't try out any other training other than the river rapids. I had trouble understanding that, but that is just since i accidentaly hit play without listening to the instructions. I would like the space key only being able to confirm, since i felt some times i hit the right arrow on accident which started things. But i really like the demo and i am really looking forward to the full game. Great work so far.

Hey Sean.Yeah the bear is being tweaked. Its a bit too good at dodging for a this stage in the game. Where you dont have enough spells to wears its stamina down.I aim to hit it when its on its way back after a charge.Hey ficho.If you find any bugs please let me know. You might have come across q crash I havent experienced. But a save function isn't going to be available for the demo. The game data is going to change drastically throughout the development. So a save function would be better to implement later on. It Could be a lot of wasted effort right now.

I suppose you are ment to be able to hear the cast spells anyway and respond to them. All the tone will do stop confusion for enemies that have different cast sounds such as monsters. You will still have to pay attention to the cast sound to know what spell is coming and use the correct barrier or dodge etc.I'll add it in the settings so it can be turned on or off. I like the idea while you're getting used to the game, but I'd not suggest having it all the time. How about, instead of just having it as a setting to turn it on and off, maybe tie it to some sort of magic item or ability that works against some opponents and not others.For example, maybe have a clairvoyance, or even clairaudience skill that starts off at one, and is used against most lower level opponents, but as you get to stronger opponents, you need to invest more into clairaudience to have the skill be effective.

I agree, i think it could be a good idea to have a sound for that, but have an option to turn it on/off. Also, i have not been able to try this version of the game yet since i have some issues viewing the forum on my computer. For some reason, when i go to forum on audiogames, my screen reader just stops reading text. I have tried with several browsers and different versions of my screen reader. My it support believe it is due to me only being able to view the page for a limited time and then locks out. I have also tried with nvda, but it did nothing. So i cannot download the game right now.

Hi guys, sorry to bring his topic back up.I'm just going through the mentioned issues and I'm focusing on the plant monster at the moment. Some people mentioned they had issues knowing when to attack or dodge.I was thinking. all different encounters through the game will have different sounds for when they are going to attack so perhaps it might be best to have a generic little tone that plays whenever an offensive attack is about to be performed by your opponent. Even in duels to accompany the cast sound.Any chance of getting a quick bit of feedback on that idea?

I'm glad the demo is an improvement. It sounds promising. There will still be a lot of tweaks at this stage. Both bear and plant bosses will be optimised.I like the tab idea to show stats during a duel. You can get descriptions and more detail about the spells from the spell upgrade menu. But you wont have heard them if you started with the spell. I also need to add a way to tell you your hp. And have the health value speak whenever you take damage. I forgot to do that for the demo.Regarding the equipment. A feature that will be introduced into the game is the ability to analyse your next opponent. For a price. More money means more detail. This will reveal their strengths and weaknesses so you can build your stats and equip spells and gear that are suitable. I'll look at the bugs you guys have spotted. Im glad they are only minor ones. Doesnt sound like too many have slipped through the net.I do also need to roll out the skip feature to more areas of the game.Does anyone else feel the same about the river game? I manage it OK but its never accurate when you test the difficulty of your own game

Regarding the bear, the way I thought you had to do it was to wait for it to finish the charge then cast just before the attack starts. It would do its attack then it would walk into range of the spell when it was charging back out again and get hit. That's how I did it with air magic, the other elements might have the wrong timing. I agree with the plant boss though, I kind of just aimed for the middle of where the slower projectiles were coming from, spammed gust and hoped.I think the problem with the wall sound is that it seems to restart the sound every time your position changes so you get a painful grating effect. Overall though navigation is much better. The rapids minigame is kind of annoying navigation wise though, the obstacles seem to be very wide so it can be impossible to dodge some pairs of them.Also some of the dialogue seems to be unskippable, including the quest dialogue and the job prompts (for example you have to listen to the entirety of the overtime prompt every time). There also seems to be a bug with the menu scrolling sound, for me it only plays when going down through a menu, not up.Overall this demo is definitely an improvement and I'm looking forward to this game.

@Aaronlp, again didn't even know there was a burn effect, perhaps a bit more info would help here, maybe a press tab to pause and check status like in breed memorialWith the bear, I tried the quest a second time using fire, and to be honest it was a wee bit frustrating, since I was never sure of the exact tactics. I realised that if I threw spells the bear would dodge, so I was trying to wait until the bear started an attack, however then my spells seemed to literally go straight through it as it charged at me, which was rather weird. one simple fix would be just to let the bear be vulnerable to spells during each charge, so players would need to wait to bait the bear to charge them, chuck a spell and then step aside.One question I have concerns equipment, since at the moment, your choices are equipment pieces that give a large amount of protection against a given element, or a smaller amount of general protection. However, without knowing what elements you'll be facing or would be more vulnerable too, it seems more sensible to choose general protection, unless you had some idea in advance what elements your next opponent would be using and could prepare an equipment set to counter accordingly? Or is the idea that the more spells of a given element you have in your arsenal, the more vulnerable you are to that or another element, and so need to use equipment to sure up your weaknesses?Again, if choosing equipment is going to be more than a matter of just grabbing the best general armour and most powerful wand you can afford, it'd be good to know.I also have one bug to report. In the protector minigame, the arrows don't work and I had to use a s d w, which was okay once I realised, but a miner irritation when I was learning the game for the first time.For the wall, if the intention is a constant tone like Manamon I'd suggest something without  as many overtones, maybe a single low tone like Paladin of the skies.Lastly, just a miner point, when you work and do a job, the text says "you spend a day", doing something or other, if you do overtime, you then get the same text saying "you spend a day", which implies literally days pass at once. It might be better saying "you spend a few hours", so that it doesn't sound as if days pass.

Yeah a lot of valid points there Dark. I'm planning on adding more information during a duel. For your health and stuff. Water is the same as fire except it doesn't have a burn  effect. @Aaronlp, good to know, I'm noticing the changes, I like the menu fix and keys change. Oddly enough, this time I seemed to have far more trouble in battles, though whether that was because I went with water I don't know. I did find the quests, but in the first quest with the bear, I could dodge fine, but hitting seemed to be a problem, while in the second quest with the plant, i didn't exactly know when to attack or dodge. I also didn't seem quite as successful in my duel either this time around, indeed I wasn't told whether I won or lost. I did get enough mind experience to learn the stun spell, but that didn't seem to help.I don't know if this is because water is a weaker element, or because the time to regain enough stamina to cast more spels negates time taken to dodge, or just that I am less experienced in the system, but I'll try again with another element and see what happens next.Again, a training dummy or the like to practice on would be nice. It might also be handy to have a key to check your own status in fights too, and maybe a description of your opponent.However, on the plus side, I'm loving the extra music and soundscape, (although that running into walls sound during walking sections is a bit grating on the ears). either way, keep up the good work, I'll be really interested to see where development of this one goes.

If anyone is interested , this is a brief version of the change list from the previous demo:EXP values in spell menu now working.Menu sounds for entering sub menus and leaving them.Scroll menu sound different for each menu.Skip Cutscenes using space.made WASD and arrows both work for menus, duels,minigames and quests.Made a music volume setting, altohugh msot music is removed for the demo.Learn sounds menu for each mini game.Changed the river rapids object indicator to sound rather than TTS.Added demos to show the mini games being played as a tutorial, rather than just a TTS description.Fish catcher mini game navigation altered.Description of opponents now plays before you duel them.Navigation in quests overhauled. So hopefully much easier to use. Also added boundary indicators.Turret game game now plays beasts in a lower pitch when they are approaching behind you.Vine grower feedback noises on button clicks for growing or breaking.Made escape key take you back to top level menu.There are also countless bug fixes but the list would be way to long if I included everything.Please let me know if there are more things that need altering, or if the game seems to be on the right path. As always I really appreciate all your help. I believe if I keep an open dialog with the players and make sure I listen, we should have a very good game by the end of it.

Thanks Stewie, I just checked and found two copies of the demo, although the more recent one was called Demo.zip.zip. I should have fixed it now. Navigation should now be just using the keys to go in that keys direction. you no longer use left and right to alter the direction you are facing.Apologies everyone, you were downloading the old version.Duel practice is a good idea Dark, I'll note that one down. also the load function doesnt work because its a demo. Hi. I don't think I saw the previous version, but I'm really liking this, the setup of minigames for stat training and duels which combine sort of standard arcade  sterrio dodge action with rpg elements is a lovely idea, and I can see the time management aspects really getting fun too.Also, great job on the sound design and atmosphere here, (I particularly liked the voice of the shadow and the sound effects for being sucked into the void, awesome opening).Only a couple of points. First, it would really help if there was a key reference somewhere, since I kept hitting the wrong keys, also i had a bad habit of accidently playing minigames before reading the instructions, since the same key to move right into sub menus also started the game and I didn't find the instructions until after . It would also be nice to be able to practice duelling just to get the feel for how your spells work, maybe giving you a training dummy to pound on or the like, though how this would work with the turn based structure of the game I'm not sure.I also wonder how to activate quests, since I was occasionally told I had a new quests, but no idea how to find it, and nothing in either the help or news section to tell me, unless the event with giving the gold to the beggar was some sort of quest?Indeed, I am not sure if it is a limitation of visual studio but I did find the key assignments here a bit of an odd choice, although I could likely get used to it if I had to. It also unfortunately seems the load game function doesn't work, or at least when I try to load the game, I got a new one instead. either way though, great job so far, and an awesome concept for a game, this one has the potential to become something really epic.
