For those interested, I found three children for Andre da Costa and Beatriz da 
Souza, parents of Josefa da Costa (2nd wife of Manoel Pacheco de Rezendes:

 

1.  Clara da Souza m. Joao da Costa, 20 Jul 1721, Porto Formoso.  Joao was the 
son of Miguel Marques and Anna da Costa (online image no. 0040)

2.  Manoel da Costa m. Izabel Gonsalves, 14 Nov 1722, Porto Formoso.  Izabel 
was the daughter of Joa d'Almeida and Izabel Gonsalves.  (online image no. 0045)

3.  Izabel da Costa m. Manoel Lopes, 10 Aug 1730, Porto Formoso.  Manoel is the 
son of Manoel Lopes and Anna Lopes (online image no. 0061)

Thank you for your additions to the information that I had.  I was missing 
the other two children from the first marriage.

I haven't gone over this completely, but I have a couple of questions.

Manuel casou com *Catarina De Medeiros Melo* [16996] 3 [MRIN: 9338], filha

 [85898],10 a 25 Jun 1759 em Maia, Ribeira Grande. Catarina nasceu a 30 Abr 
1740 em Maia, Ribeira Grande. 



I have different name forms for Catharina Medeiros e Mello's parents.  I 
have Antonio de Medeiros and Dona Francisca de Resendes.  I don't have 
Matos associated with Antonio or Bulhoes associated with Francisca.

Then for my ancestors, I have different name forms as well:

António casou com *Ana De Jesus Cordeiro* [53003] [MRIN: 26913], filha de 
*António 
José de Medeiros* [54342] 17 e *Francisca De Sousa* [55150],17 a 28 Fev

I have Anna Pacheco de Medeiros with father Antonio Medeiros Cordeiro 

Then one more, Genoveva Pacheco Rezendes and Victorino Leite (you have 
slightly different name forms), the husband of daughter, Rosa...

Rosa casou com *Manuel Pacheco Ramalho* [37017] 7 [MRIN: 19444], filho de 
*Custódio 
De Sousa Ramalho* [36894] 7 e *Ana Do Rosário Pacheco* [36597],7 a 22 Mar 
1809 em Maia, Ribeira Grande. Manuel nasceu a 22 Jan 1791 em Porto Formoso.

I have his name as Manoel Pacheco.  I didn't have the Ramalho associated 
with this family, but I didn't have Manoel's parents.  This will make 
another researcher I'm working with happy as we've been trying to see if 
his Ramalho's fit into my Maia tree anywhere.

have the two Margarida daughters...one for each marriage?

Whole family research is so important.  It is too easy to get crossed up on 
similar names. I've done it on occasion.  I didn't do the initial research on 
this couple, but I can see how a person could see "Josefa da Costa" and just 
assume that it was Josefa da Costa Carneiro.  

This is also why I'm going back over research done in my early years and 
filling in the dates that are missing.  It's a good way to re-evaluate and make 
sure everything fits in place.  Something struck me as funny with the children. 
 It seemed like Josefa was having children for way too many years.  

On the plus side, it looks like some of Josefa Costa Carneiro's ancestors are 
mine through a different descendant, so at least that research wasn't wasted.

Let me know if you find any discrepancies so I can fix what I have.  Do you 
have the two Margarida daughters...one for each marriage?

Whole family research is so important.  It is too easy to get crossed up on 
similar names. I've done it on occasion.  I didn't do the initial research 
on this couple, but I can see how a person could see "Josefa da Costa" and 
just assume that it was Josefa da Costa Carneiro.  

This is also why I'm going back over research done in my early years and 
filling in the dates that are missing.  It's a good way to re-evaluate and 
make sure everything fits in place.  Something struck me as funny with the 
children.  It seemed like Josefa was having children for way too many 
years.  

On the plus side, it looks like some of Josefa Costa Carneiro's ancestors 
are mine through a different descendant, so at least that research wasn't 
wasted.
