No - that's very Web 1.0. The Web 2.0 way of doing things is to stay
at home, meet them on MySpace, then add them on Facebook.

Cheers,

Rich.

:)

Or you could find interesting events on last.fm / upcoming, add the
interesting people who are going, and actually go meet em, then add
them on myspazz and facebook :) and ... and..

Re: [backstage] Facebook Apps

2007-06-10 Thread James Cridland

I got one of our crack developers on the case, and the result is
http://apps.facebook.com/virginradio/ in case anyone wants to take a look.
We're quite pleased with it, but it's certainly a work in progress. Works
best if you're already registered at virginradio.co.uk but still works fine
if not. Three days' development, I think.

friend, I have a must have met at least twice rule.)

ridicious popularity of Facebook these limitations seem to be the cause
errors and malfunctioning all over the show. Not very good.

Seems they need to get with thier developer relations. Last.fm were a bit
hacked (pun intended) off at not being in the early dev program...

 Hey everyone

I'm surprised no one has commented on this yet but I imagine I'm one of
the younger members of this list, hence Facebook….

Anywho I was wondering what everyone thought about the sudden explosion of
facebook applications, and whether anyone had written one, who is a member
of this list.

In light of the face we have just been talking about Google developer day,
which I could not attend…

Re: [backstage] Facebook Apps

2007-06-04 Thread Chris Riley

I'm in the process of writing one, getting some practice in with the
platform just in case I go down this route during Hack Day. So far so good,
once you've figured out the authentication signature. FBML is really
useful, saves lots of lookup API calls you would otherwisae have to make.
As with all of these things the facebook platform is only really as good as
the applications built for it. Check out the docs and also this fairly
hidden wiki... http://wiki.f8.facebook.com
