[Blind-Computing] External hard disk removal

2011-09-10 Thread Milos Przic
   Hi all,
I purchased a samsung 2 tb hard disk external drive. It doesn't have an
on-off switch, so it turns on automatically once it is plugged into a socket
and into a usb port. I want to disconnect it after some time of use, but I am
not sure if I should do it. In the context menu of the drive there is no an
option to eject or remove it, in the system tray there is no the safely remove
hardware option. What should I do?
Thanks to all in advance, and best regards!

[Blind-Computing] About the Shakespeare's book and the mail

2011-09-08 Thread Milos Przic
   Hi all,
The message that we are talking about was in clear serbian language. I know

Thanks for understanding the problem, and I appologize that it had to go on

language. Other mistakes of the kind made in english are not so striclty
punnished as this, and that's why I react.

[Blind-Computing] Laptops in different positions and situations?

2011-04-12 Thread Milos Przic
   Hi all,
I will be in certain situations where I will be on the move or exposed to

problem for my laptop if I use it when in a vehicle that is being driven on a
bad road, so from time to time laptop would jump or move left or right on my
lap? Also, is it dangerous for the laptop when the back of the lid is turn

Milos, do u run a program called TuneUp Utilities, or Auslogic
defragger?

U may well wish to go into control panel administrative tools
event viewer, then select the applications log by pressing enter. In
order not to have so much superfluous info, Go into the view menu,
select filter, uncheck everything except errors, warnings, failure
audits. This should give u some info regarding what app is throwing
the exception.

When researching on the Internet, it can be easy to just plow through Web
page after Web

page while you search. If you're using the latest version of a tabbed
browser, such as

Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Mozilla's Firefox, there are a few
excellent and simple

ways to keep track of where you have been and the information that you do
not want to lose.

Often people will get distracted by a rabbit trail when researching a
certain topic. Instead

of clicking an interesting link and thereby navigating away from the page
you were reading,

right-click the link and select Open In New Tab or Open Link In New Tab.
The new page will

open but the old page will stay up as well so you can go back to it
without having to hit

the Back button on your Web browser. You can also hold down the CTRL key
while clicking a

link to open the link in a new tab.

 Hi,
Open the Internet Download Manager main interface.
Go to View, and there is the Language sub menu. Use the right arrow key to
get into this and tick on English (or whatever name used for English in
that language like Anglais in French).

That will be all.
By the way, I use Internet Download Manager version 5.9 on Windows 7 if it
matters.

uninstall it and reinstall it. It will keep the folders on the computer
so your downloaded items are still going to be on the computer. Heather

Re: [Blind-Computing] Laptop environment

2010-08-02 Thread Milos Przic
Yes, but I am asking about the situation when the laptop is active on the
move. I forexample had a situation where I was holding my laptop on my knees
while on a bus, and the bus drived through some holes in the road so it
seamed like it jumbed up a few times, and I was holding the laptop with my
hands in order not to bump on my knees. That are the situations I am asking
for.

Depends with how your laptop is positioned while in transit. For instance,
if the car has got pressure absorbers, even if you are moving on a bumpy
road, it will be fine. I think it is wise just to make sure that the PC is
not directly placed on the car surface: you can place it on a velvet or
padded surface if you are using it. However, if it is not being used, the
best way would be to package it in padded boxes, or better still just
leave it in its carrying bag.

On the other hand, I personally think it is not safe to expose electronic
gadgets like laptops to the sun for a long time. With Respect To part of
the laptop to be exposed, I find that this may be when the laptop is shut.
Generally, PCs should be used in a cool environment as high temperatures,
or heat to be particular, is dangerous to some parts of the PC. We may
differ on this head, but I bet that to be safe, you shouldn't work for a
long time in the sun with a laptop: better to do that in the shade. This
also reminds me that exposure of this nature may also lead to damage not
only through the sun, but even dust particles.

this until I hear the fans constantly running.

At Staples and many other places they have a small laptop desk that sits
on
your lap. It has bean bags under it that allow it to comfortably sit on
your

lap. These are somewhat weighted which helps my laptop not move around to
much as I am typing. There are vents on the top of this unit which allow
my

laptop to breathe.

Mine also has fans in it that cool my laptop. It uses a USB cable to plug
in

to my laptop for power. I don't use these fans when I am on the move, only
at home when I am plugged in to home power because I have noticed that it
does put a slight drain on the battery.

Take care,
Russ

  Hi all,
Recently there was a message warning us that of the consequences of
overheating the laptop having it on the bed. As I knew it and it was not
something new for me, I still want to ask some similar questions.
Can laptop be dammaged if in the constant moving while active? For
example, in a car that passes many high curves.
Next, if I have to use my laptop outside and I have to expose it on the
sun as in a certain moment it is not possible to protect it, what parts of
the laptop are most resistible to the sun? So if I have to expose it, how
to

do that with minimal risk?

Any help is appreciated.

Just click on the maps link on the Google home page. You can then specify

just decline the request and block future invitations. If they do have a

Hi
I have been practicing with Google Books today. I thought I would

there is a link that says plain text. Once a person presses enter on this
the page loads with the book in plain text. Yes! It is wonderful. Totally
screen reader friendly. Now, if I can only get it to work on the Google book
that I actually need, I will have it made.

Microsoft document Image scanning is an option for virtual scan, but as I
say Kurzweil is , in my experience, pretty hopeless with google Books and
sadly the Microsoft option is only a little better.

I think Google books is a genuinely hard access nut to crack. I am not sure
that if you try printing the whole web page whether anything will come out
which you can physically scan. You could give this a try though.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Looking for free TV site that will work with
Jaws7.

Good afternoon or evening or what ever your time zone is:
My question to all of you is:
Is there a Free TV site where I can go to that is accessible with Jaws 7?
I am not a fan of cable TV, and I can't get satellite at this time.
All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

[Blind-Computing] Dropbox strange problem

2009-12-03 Thread Milos Przic
   Hi all,
I have a strange problem with the dropbox application. A few days after I
installed dropbox the shortcuts from the start menu are deleted. So in the
start/programs/dropbox sub menu, there is nothing. I reinstalled the program,
but it happened again. And that is only the case with Dropbox. So what to do to
prevent it happening all the time?
   Best regards!

Is the My Dropbox folder still in your My Documents folder? I just access
my Dropbox by adding files or updating files from that folder. I have it
synced to two computers so I know it works since they both have the same
updated info. I have even put shortcuts from the Dropbox folder on both
desktops so I can keep things like my grocery list constantly updated on
either computer.
I have never accessed the Dropbox from the start menu although it is
there.
By the way, I really love the Dropbox since it keeps both computers synced
and the info is also online in case of a major catastrophe. And it is
free.
My only mistake was accidentally setting up a second account when hooking
up the new computer and ended up with them not synced. But there is a way
to unlink an account and link another so I got them both on the same
account. The other account is still active and I could probably store
things in it that I don't use often since I would have to link and unlink
the two accounts. But it would be extra space.

Hi Milos,
The application must be running in order to upload the files to the
server.

Additionally, if you are synchronizing files between machines,
the application must be running on the other machines in order for the
files

to be downlloaded from the Drop Box server.

I don't have to open language settings to find the search settings link.
It is on the regular Google search page near the top, I think.

Hi Doug,

You have to open Language Tools to find search settings. After you
open
language tools search settings will be at the top of the page. Take
care.

There is no longer a link for Preferences on Google. Instead it is called
Search Settings. The page that opens is easy to navigate by headings. I
usually just go to the heading for Number of results. I like 50 results
since I don't like having to going to lots of pages and getting my
bearings
each time. I also like each result to open in a new window which is the
next

topic in that heading.
Be sure to save your settings.
For some reason these settings become erased now and then and I have to
go

back to reset them.
Hope this helps.

Like, number of hits per page etc.
The preferences used to be on the first page.
Now, it, along with just about anything else useful, ain't there.

are you making sure that you highlight the particular device you want to

if you have, speakers, plus, headphone, jaws says speakers for both, so,
you

can route pc to jaws, to read.
most likely, your headphones are the second one, highlight then tab set to

The file with the program is in .jar format, but jaws doesn't work with
it.
What is the problem, the accessibility of the runtime environment or of
the

program itself? Whatever the problem is, what would you recommend as the
possibility to make it to work?
  Thanks and best regards!

Hi Milos,
Look on the Microsoft site for FileFormatConverters.exe.
Install that and you have access to those files which are created with
Office2007.

[Blind-Computing] Java problem

2009-04-26 Thread Milos Przic
   hell all,
I downloaded a program for packaging the z-code files to .jar, but
nevermind, to open the .jar file, I had to use the j2se or sdk. Not knowing
what was that, I downloaded something that I found using google, and when I
wanted to install the file, the file was j2sdk-1_4_13-nb-5_0win-ml.exe, it said
that htat is a virtual machine, and the instalation was graphical. Is there an
accessible way to open the jar file and do with it what I need to do?

  Hello Pedro,
If I understand you well, you are talking about the emails. It doesn't
matter if you have the gmail or any other account, just go to the
addressbook, then from the file menu choose the add new contact option, and
enter the data of the contact. And if you get an email from someone and
don't want to reply, simply press the applications key and choose the option
end sender to addressbook.

I think that this will help.

Would seem that the target of that playlist might be corrupted, since
according to this page:

http://filext.com/file-extension/PLS

the pls file is just a generic playlist file that's effectively a text
file with URLs for online content.

You could try editing it with something like notepad and see where it's
actually pointing, and then try that URL directly in IE/Thunderbird and
see if you get a more useful error, like 404 not found or something.

[Blind-Computing] Megaupload

2009-04-18 Thread Milos Przic
   Hello all,
has anyone succeeded in downloading files from megaupload? I have webvisum,
and this is my first time trying it, but I somehow don't succeed. Is it because
the captia is view in flash? If not, what to do? I turn the forms mode on on
the edit field for the code and press alt ctrl and 6 waiting for the image to
be solved, but nothing happens. Of course, I am logged in on webvisum...
So please, tell me what to do. Thank you in advance, and best regards,

Thank you Jacob and Rogelio, it works. But still I have to go to the

Don't know if web Visum can handle flash captcha's, but AFAIK, the key
combo is actually Ctrl + 6, or else activate the context menu/right click
and there's options in there relating to web visum.

Hey what version of Live are you using? In 8.1 you can click the install
alert, say no, and tell it not to remind you for one week. Why Microsoft
took this away from 8.5 and above who knows.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] What is keyboard equivalent for Drag Drop

Hello all.
I recently purchased a talking Ipod and have had limited success with it.
I have not been able to figure out how to put files in to a given
playlist.
I know this can be accomplished by dragging a file and dropping it in to
the desired playlist but I can't figure out the keyboard equivalent.
Cutting and pasting doesn't work. I have tried everything I can think of
with no success.

If anyone can help me out I'd sure be appreciative.
Thanks.

I am currently searching for a baby crying sound for my cousin for one of

If you could give me some sites of where to download, or if you could send

Re: [Blind-Computing] online translation services?

2009-02-22 Thread Milos Przic

  Hi Randy,
There is a program called Maestro translater that uses googles server for
translating. It works perfectly with jaws, but I don't recommend those
programs, because they make unforgivable mistakes in translating. Better
take a dictionary and start putting the words togeather by transleting every
of them from your language, you will get better results

Why don't you use the task manager to stop the process? No need to restart
then. Use applications tab to stop the program, and if it's not working
for some reason, go to the processes tab and kill the process from there.
First look through the manager if you're not familiar with it and be
careful.

Oops, I'm sorry to give you the answer someone else has given before. :)
The reason Real Alternative is better is because it takes less of your
Ram, less of your harddrive, and generally is much lighter to run and
install than Real Player. Also, it's more accessible, everything is in the
menus.

Press tab on that dialog box with the list of programs, until you get to
the browse button. Then, go to your program files folder, and look for a
folder called Real Alternative, then a folder called Media Player Clasic.
There, you can find the .exe file. If you press enter on the .exe file,
Real Alternative would be in the list, called Media Player Classic, I
think.

Please, upgrade to IE7. Is it the version of your screen reader that's
preventing you from doing so, or are you just not one of those people who
likes to try things and understand the consequences of doing such.

[Blind-Computing] Cd problems

2008-11-03 Thread Milos Przic
   Hello all,
I have some dictionaries, and I got boath of them as cd images. I made a
virtual drive from one, using it's mds file (as I got the mds and the mdf
file). When I got the second one and burned it to a cd, they start mixing. I
deleted the virtual drive, and burned the mdf file of the first dictionary to a
cd using magic iso, but it didn't work. I tried with the mds image, and it
burned something on the disk, but after the process it said that the disk is
blank. And the disk I succeeded to extract the data on, views the files
normaly, but I can't open the exe file of the dictionary.
What would you recommend me, how to make the dictionary working again?

  Hello,
Thank you Parham! Yes I remember about the language you sent me and I
apreciate your effert and thank you. But you know, there are no many people
playing games made in that language, compared to z-code games, and, I don't
have many time to study the completely new language, so that's why I asked
for this.

Hi Milos,
If you have usenet access, you can subscribe to the group called
rec.arts.int-fiction. Also, as I told you on messenger, there is a much
easier language than that. Oh and by the way, you can also read that group

Yep just unplugged from the mains and Jaws announces one hundred percent
left whereas when it was plugged in it was saying battery status not
found.

I tried the magic iso and I donb't like the program. I don't have much

I use a piece of shareware software called MagicISO to either extract the
contents of disk image files, or else it can also implement virtual
mountings of the drives using MagicDisc.

I don't use the normal interface of MagicISO much either except to get it
to mount a virtual drive is easier than actually doing it using MagicDisc
and it does it for you, but if you right-click on, for an ISO file, there's
a submenu linked to MagicISO which lets you just extract the contents from
there, and it then brings up it's shareware dialogue, but when you hit
space on something like Try It, it extracts without you have to do anything
except wait until you're sure it's done.

Just re-download it or download it from a different site. Alternatively
you can try the many download managers that are out there. My personal
favourite is Internet Download Manager.

[Blind-Computing] Viruses on mp3 players

2008-10-05 Thread Milos Przic
   Hello all!
It happens more and more often that when I plug an mp3 player in my
computer, I get the virus alert, and the filename is the name of an invisibile
file, I mean, the file that can not be reached by cursor, and it is always the
.exe file. Those files can not be cleaned (at least by nod32), and once I even
couldn't delete one such file.
So, what is that virus, and can it harm your system or mp3 player?
Thanks in advance, and best regards.

[Blind-Computing] Tables question

2008-10-02 Thread Milos Przic
   Hello all,
I have a word document, and the hole document is a big table. How to make it
to be a text, without the colums and rows?
Receive my appologies because the question was not quite understandable...
   Best regards,
 Milos Przic

Re: [Blind-Computing] Computer restarting

2008-09-22 Thread Milos Przic
Yes, after the system starting again, the error dialog with the send
and don't send buttons pops up, but I don't think that I can find more
information by looking at it. But after it happens next time, if it happens,
I will send the error to the list.
   Thank you!

Does it on restart bring up the windows error dialogue where you'd
 possibly
be able to find some minor bits of information?

Alternatively, on the start menu, settings, control panel, administrative
tools, event viewer, you can find the set of system events being logged
including errors etc., and you'll just have to move down to system on the
tree structure on the left, then tab across to the event listing on the
right, then move up and down till you find an error event from around the
right time, hit enter on it, and either tab around to get various bits of
information, or hit alt + d to be taken to the description read only
 field.

FWIW, while on the tree structure on the left, you can use the context
 menu
to in fact clear the log initially, and then when the thing happens again,
there'll be a lot less data in that list, and you can also use an option
 on
the view menu to sort the events in descending order so that the newest
 ones
will be at the top, plus I think there's an option to only display certain
types of events, like errors etc.

It was happening to me before, more and more often, till it started
happening every minute, so I had to reinstall windows. Now, it started

doing or what program is openned at theat particular moment. Please, how
to find the problem, and then, how to try solving it?
   Thank you in advance!

I just tried deleting the filezilla.xml file out of it's working directory
(c:\program files\filezilla), and it just created a new clean version, so
myabe just try moving the corrupted one out of the folder, and see if it
then just recreates a new clean one.
