No, that's the _Teddy Kennedy_ action figure.  For a little more money

 (OK, it's a low blow, I know.)

Actually, checking further, the George W. Bush action figure cannot be
purchased on its own. You have to also buy the Dick Cheney action figure, as the
larger Cheney doll has its hand up the smaller Dubya's back, and Dubya is
permanently glued to Cheney's knee.

Oh, and, by the way, the company producing both action figures is apparently
owned by Halliburton...

(Is that a lower blow? I'm not sure.)

It may have been a comic book instead of a novel, but I remember reading
the same story updated, with the Golem being created on the moon. (And my
crazy mind wants to mix it with Heinlein stories. Imagine that, a Golem
wearing a kilt and waving a six-shooter around, with half nekkid wimmen and
a talking sentient spaceship. It's time for my meds now.)

But seriously, it was created on the moon and I think it was sent to the
earth, then turned on, on the last page. (Is that a firearm under your kilt
or are you just happy to see me? Stop it!) Not turned on that way, but
brought to life to the horror of the creator's enemies. The golem's
creator, that is.

I think they should be combined. Palace with statue on the
top layer, fortress beneath. Requires three 25kg bags of play sand
(not included). I'm ambivalent about the escape tunnel, since GOOD
MUST TRIUMPH. Maybe it's an optional extra, like the Mobile WMD
Lab. If so equipped, the tunnel is made of clear plastic (like a
hamster tube) which the industrious child would partially cover with
sand. Saddam lies down on a little car, which shoots down it.
(Either that, or we need smaller figures!)

It has nothing to do with whether or not Lincoln would listen to the
rabbi.
The whole point of the Golem legend is the animation of something that is
not
alive and never was alive. Even assuming a rabbi used a statue of Lincoln,
it
would be a STATUE and not Lincoln himself. A statue can't think or listen.
I think that would depend on if our hypothetical Lincoln golem was green,
blue, black, red, white or orange.

:-)

(It's nice to beat William to the punchline every once in a while.)

Or perhaps I'm simply taking all this too seriously...

I dunno. Was Lincoln Jewish? If not, why would a statue of
  him pay any
attention to what a rabbi does?

Ah, but would Lincoln think of rabbi as a jewish figure of authority and
ignore him or would be consider the rabbi a man of God and listen to
 him?

I'd have to answer yes to that question.

I'm waiting for the Pfc Jessica Lynch figure complete with Pentagon
Overstatement Accessories.

Which one? The one with gunshot wounds, the one with stab wounds, or the
one with nothing but broken bones from the accident? Or do you plan to
collect the whole set?

Action Figures Rule! :-)
LOL. Just what we need, a Gen. Tommy Franks action figure.

My bro-in-law posted this to me earlier:

Subject: Governor's too!
Future governors of very large states can also be purchased. What a shame
it's not a talking doll - it could say I vil erase your budget deficit or
Hasta la vista affirmative action!.

Wonder if it comes with drug paraphernalia, booze bottles and MPs in
hot pursuit.

Cool blog. It's on my Check it every day list.

Thanks! I've been enjoying yours, too. (Along with a few others -- I
posted a 'short' list this evening.)
