Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit? Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis. These companies import Middle Eastern oil: Shell.. 205,742,000 barrels Chevron/Texaco... ; 144,332,000 barrels Exxon /Mobil... 130,082,000 barrels Marathon/Speedway 117,740,000 barrels Amoco 62,231,000 barrels And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! Re: [Chevelle-List] Rebuilding a z-bar
Kurt, I just got done rebuilding mine on my 65 Malibu. Although all my parts were new, the ball should come out once you remove the retaining ring. If your z-bar is still full of grease, the grease might be creating enough of a suction type seal that will make you pull a little harder than you might think you should. Use steady pressure, the grease will let go eventually and it will come apart. Hope this helps. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro (totaled R.I.P.)

I am looking to paint the dash bezel of my 65 Malibu. Is there a special way to prep it? What is the correct color(s)? What type of paint should be used, model paint for plastics or regular car paint? Thanks for any help. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro (totaled R.I.P.)

Has anyone on the list converted their car from column shift auto to 4 spd? I bought the sheetmetal hump from OPG and seem to have located it where it should go but does it mount from the interior side of the floor or from the bottom??? Thanks for any help. RE: [Chevelle-List] Help find color match on this chevelle?
My mistake, I guess it was that Granada Gold instead. I was more concerned with the drivetrain anyway, I just told the body shop to put the same color on it and he told me about the Aztec name. [Chevelle-List] powder coating 65 frame
I could use some help and advice. I am thinking of powder coating my 65 Malibu's frame and would like to know pros and cons of doing it, where to look to have it done (I am in Las Vegas, NV), and cost. Would I be better off sand blasting the frame and painting it? Any help is welcome. Thanks. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro end

Hey paul, I have an 85 Elky that has been with me since 90 and is my daily driver. It has been the the best investment I ever made. BTW, I am looking for a low profile fiberglass cap for it for a trip cross country. Any help in locating one would be appreciated. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro

Re: [Chevelle-List] RE: name that tool
I haven't seen one of those in quite a few years. It is used to install freeze out plugs that you can't hit straight on. It never worked. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro
Re: [Chevelle-List] Elky Door stuck
Kelly, Im curious. You said you got locked twice and are now carrying a slim jim in your Elky. I have done the same thing and put one under the seat but then I realized I could not get to the slim jim if I was locked out so I put it back in the garage. How do you get to yours?? Re: [Chevelle-List] ENGINE
I have a 3970010 engine and the numbers I came up with show it as once being an ememic 350 with 170 ponies from the gas war ear of 1973. It had since been improved (but not by much) before I got it. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro
[Chevelle-List] oil by pass valve
Hey guys, I have a question. I have a friend with 66 396 Elky. About the oil filter, cannister type. He wants to put in a spin-on conversion. Does he remove the by-pass valve and leave it out or put it in on top of the spin-on plate? Thanks for any help. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro
Re: [Chevelle-List] Chevelle World
The most recent issue I have is May/June Vol. 6 No. 3. The cave has a 65 two door wagon in front of a jet. It must be the anticipation of recieving the next issue that makes it seem like it takes forever between them. Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T. C. #375 65 Malibu 85 El Camino 95 Camaro
Re: [Chevelle-List] Chevelle World
Sorry for the mispell. I ment the COVER has a 65 two door wagon not cave. I just got these two fingers a week ago and am still breaking them in.
[Chevelle-List] M-22
I have a dilemma. A friend of mine converted his 69 SS to a 700R and I picked up his just rebuilt M-22 4spd with brand new Hurst Competition Plus linkage (less chrome arm) also with all clutch parts for a price I could not refuse. I would prefer an M-21 for my 65 Malibu. Anyone interested in trading their recently rebuit M-21 with new or near new Hurst Competition Plus linkage (attaching with nuts and not bolts) for my M-22, email me off the list at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Bob A.C.E.S. #1164 T.
