Ken

I just realized this morning as you were weighing anchor but you were anchored
besides us in Maskills harbour. Beautiful spot in there for certain and
incredibly well protected.

Next time I will pop over to say hi. Always nice to put faces and names
together

to help you through, 24 hrs a day, and staff to help at St. Peters during
opening hours, 7 days a week.

rain in 2 hours. A short time later the Admiral, Lexie the cat crew and I were
sitting on the bed watching stuff float through our bedroom in 18 inches of
water. A few days later after loading two roll off dumpsters full of saturated
carpet and pad, drywall, insulation, furniture, appliances and a lot of
memories, we had a mostly empty house with some patio furniture and a bed. A
few weeks, two large commercial dehumidifiers, lots of fans, portable heaters
and a good moisture meter and we had a dry house.

We've installed new drywall, textured it, painted it and replaced all the door
trims, baseboards, etc. that were removed during the drying process. Waiting
on flooring now.

Bottom line, if you think refurbishing/rebuilding a boat is work, try restoring
a flooded house while you're still living in it. I haven't seen Touche' in
weeks.

Stus-List Re: Checking the list now deck paint

2021-08-02 Thread Martin DeYoung via CnC-List
Matt,

For the deck (DIY) I am using Interlux Perfection 2 part in Matterhorn White. I
am sanding down through several layers of unknown and mixed types of old deck
paint to the original gelcoat and laying down a layer of high build epoxy
primer as a transition layer.
The topsides will be professionally painted using “roll and tip” Awlgrip in
Revised Off White. The 2 Awlgrip colors are next to each other on the current
color chart. My color suitability advisor said this was a good thing.
The cove strip and C star + dagger and shear accent will be in Awlgrip Vivid
Red.

The vinyl lettering company Prism located Calypso’s file from 1998 so they can
easily duplicate the name look/style we used before.

It is rumored the professional painting crew will begin to prep the topsides

My sailing season ended the night of May 17 when we got 12 inches of localized
rain in 2 hours.

I haven't seen Touche' in
weeks.

My sailing season ended the night of May 17 when we got 12 inches of localized
rain in 2 hours.
I haven't seen Touche' in
weeks.

I guess I shouldn't complain. About the time most of this list seem to start
talking about something called "winterizing" ???   We will be spending a couple
weeks at a time cruising. Spending as much time on the water as we can.
Hopefully.  Nothing nicer now than being in our OPH for Christmas holidays.

We are currently on a two week tour of the Bras D'or lakes in Nova Scotia
sitting in an isolated anchorage enjoying cocktails in the cockpit.
For those of you that cruise the lakes are probably one of the best cruising

We had a wicked sail yesterday hitting 9.8 as we surfed down a wave.
