Perhaps you are new to this list or competely blind to all the posts
that has been made about the issue. Server performance decreased months
ago rapidly, cpu usage went up and variance now jumps more and more.

Some people really need to stop saying there's no performance issue.

Just a quick comparison between CSGO 1 year ago and CSGO now allows anyone
with one half of a brain to see that there ARE performance issue.
Or also a comparison between linux and windows versions of CSGO.

And if you want we can even get in other comparisons (also they are not as
relevant as the first ones) : BF3 ? 128 slots on an old Core2Quad Q6600 -
NO PROBLEM ! And keep in mind that all maps are bigger and much more
complex than any of CSGO, most servers are running 64 slots ...

Now, don't tell us Valve cannot do a little effort in their code's
optimisation and AT THE VERY LEAST get linux's at the same level as
Windows's.

It's absolutely ridiculous to say in the same message that you need a 4+GHz
CPU to have a stable server at 32 players, and that there's no performances
issue.

Thats really pointless. Valve recently showed on TF2 that they rather

So if we turn our servers off, nothing will change. Long term, their

Hello people,

this list is not a forum. I'm sick of having to delete 20+ mails a day
containing nothing but complaints and discussions about pointless topics.
Please, if you want to complain to Valve, send them a mail. If you want to
discuss a private topic with someone else, mail that person directly.

It would be highly appreciated if you could keep the spam to a minimum. I know
the performance issues are frustrating, but this very list is definitely not
the right place to discuss and/or insult anything or anyone in that case. I
highly doubt the list is getting attention from Valve devs at all, except for
bug reports after a recent update. Use it to ask questions regarding the
servers and to help other people, not to complain day after day about problems
that have been known for over half a year now. It's not going to change
anything and it is very annoying to others.

Just a comment on the BF3 server issue.

BF3 runs at 10 tick. 128 slots @ 10 tick is still a quarter of the
informations that 32 slots @ 128 tick takes.

On Thu, Mar 27, 2014 at 5:52 AM, Benjamin Vergnaud benjam...@kryoox.comwrote:

Now, don't tell us Valve cannot do a little effort in their code's
optimisation and AT THE VERY LEAST get linux's at the same level as
 Windows's.

It's absolutely ridiculous to say in the same message that you need a
4+GHz CPU to have a stable server at 32 players, and that there's no
 performances issue.

It looks like your Dust2/Office server, as well as your Zombie server

Are you still running Gentoo on NFO?

I was browsing servers and came across some NFO servers running 128
tick/30 slot and it was the most stable I found.

We have 3 boxes, our 1270v3 is gentoo linux on NFOs kernel and has our
most popular CS:S servers
Our 2 windows 1270s run GMOD/CS:GO due to the significant performance
increase we saw going from linux to windows for GO.

It looks like your Dust2/Office server, as well as your Zombie server
has been nearly always empty. Your surf server sees some traffic (24
player ceiling?); where did you get this figure from?

Are you still running Gentoo on NFO?
Kyle.

Re: [Csgo_servers] CSGO update problem

2014-03-26 Thread Elysium Gamers League
There's certainly an ongoing issue with Linux distro's since they updated
the binaries a few months ago.

I can confirm Windows is more stable.

It's a shame, Linux is a far better OS to administer, hopefully the fix
comes soon.
