Shouldn't be needed, we have ca-certificates.

So far patching (or simply using the patched debian packages like
liblwp-protocol-https-perl) was enough:

If you tell us why you think you need this package we might be able

one could determine if upgrading can be held off for a while.

Hi,

automatic installation tests of packages that share a file and at the
same time do not conflict by their package dependency relationships has
detected the following problem:

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/bin/dccp
  /usr/share/man/man1/dccp.1.gz

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

-Ralf.

I know, but D-Bus interface XML is pretty far from being code - the
closest equivalent that you'd call code would be C headers that don't
have any inline functions or macros. It can't have bugs other than
design flaws and feature requests, and the closest it can get to a
security bug is implementations of this method that obey its
documentation can't be secure (which would still be a bug in the
implementation, IMO).

Personally, I think the solution is to merge the specs into the
library source package and drop the specs source package.

If there's only one library, this is functionally equivalent; in
Debian, telepathy-spec is only provided as documentation.

Unless the specs are used in multiple source packages, then the
solution is the one used by libshr-glib (use Built-Using and don't
 ship pre-generated files).

Not shipping pre-generated files, sure. Telepathy doesn't do that
either; we do the code-generation at build-time.

I still think importing D-Bus interfaces from another source package,
if they affect your ABI, is actively harmful: it makes the ABI of the
current source package depend on an external factor. To make the ABI
predictable you'd need a (= something) dependency, at which point
you'd have to do sourceful uploads of every affected package in lockstep.

from Mediawiki for offline use. Even though project currently focuses

When I saw this, it got me clearly confused because at first I thought
that it was related to http://zim-wiki.org/. It's a bit unfortunate that
Zim is used to refer to two projects reladed to wikis.

I don't know who was first but maybe you could point out the nameclash
to upstream ?

FWIW the zim debian package refers to http://zim-wiki.org/ which I'm
maintaining for Debian.

Bug#698118: asterisk: version 1:1.6.2.9-2+squeeze9 crashes on SIP call, +squeeze6 does not

2013-01-14 Thread Diego Guella
Package: asterisk
Version: 1:1.6.2.9-2+squeeze9
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I have a production, fully working asterisk server.
I use many Siemens C470IP cordless phones on the office, they are SIP peers in
my asterisk installation.
I had asterisk and asterisk-config version 1:1.6.2.9-2+squeeze6 installed,
and all was working nicely.
Today, I updated to 1.6.2.9-2+squeeze9 and found out that asterisk seems
working, but as soon as I do a SIP call with the cordless, asterisk crashes
suddenly.
I reverted to 1.6.2.9-2+squeeze6 since this is a production asterisk and I
can't have downtimes.
This is Debian Stable! A package should not break like this :(

Bug#698112: asterisk: Segfault when making a call after update to 1.6.2.9-2+squeeze9

2013-01-14 Thread Dennis Rech

Dear Mr. Cohen,

after the update to squeeze9, the asterisk process restarts fine. When
someone does a SIP call, the asterisk process immediately terminates
with the described segmentation fault (according to dmesg). As the
software is running on our production server infrastructure, I have
performed a downgrade to squeeze8 again to ensure proper operation
during our office hours. That's also the reason why I won't be able to
upgrade again and debug the system now because I have to keep the
telephony operational during office hours.

Maybe I can reproduce it with a test system, I'll keep you informed.

Regards,

Dennis Rech

How asy is this issue to reproduce? What type of call? SIP? TCP?

Could you please install asterisk-dbg and gdb, run asterisk as:

cd /var/spool/asterisk

and reproduce the issue

Then run:

   gdb -c core /usr/sbin/asterisk

Bug#698119: nagios-plugins-standard: Enable --extra-opts in Debian nagios plugins

2013-01-14 Thread Alex Dehnert
Package: nagios-plugins-standard
Version: 1.4.15-3squeeze1
Severity: normal

Upstream nagios has a config option for support the --extra-opts argument,
which allows storing extra options in a file (see
http://nagiosplugins.org/extra-opts). This is very helpful when using the mysql
nagios plugin, which requires a password --- I can stick my check definition in
nrpe.cfg, but read passwords out of a separate file (and avoid putting the
password in ps -AF output). It would be great if Debian could enable support
for this option prior to 1.5's release (when it will become the default) ---
Fedora already does enable it.

 USAGE: /usr/share/apt-cacher/apt-cacher-precache.pl [ options ]
 Options:
-d, --dist-filter=RE Perl regular experession, applied to the URL of
 Packages
files to select only special versions. Example:
'sid|unstable|experimental'
(default: 'testing|etch')
  -q, --quiet suppress verbose output
-l, --list-dir=DIRalso use pure/compressed files from the specified dir
(eg. /var/log/apt-cacher) to get the package names
 from.
Words before | are ignored (in apt-cacher logs). To
create a such list from clients, see below.
-p, --by-priority=RE Perl regular expression for priorities to be looked for
when selecting packages. Implies threating all packages
with this priority as installation candidates.
(default: scanning the cache for candidates without
looking at priority)

NOTE: the options may change in the future.
You can feed existing package lists or old apt-cacher logs into the selection
algorithm by using the -l option above. If the version is omited (eg. for
 lists
created with dpkg --get-selections then the packages may be redownloaded).
To avoid this, use following one-liner to fake a list with version infos:

 dpkg -l | perl -ne 'if(/^(i.|.i)\s+(\S+)\s+(\S+)/) { print
 $2_$3_i386.deb\n$2_$3_all.deb\n}'

If you take a look at this one-liner it artificially implants i386 and
 all into package names.
If run this one-liner on an AMD64 system, it generates the incorrect package
 names for the system.

If you install libdpkg-perl is this better?

  perl -MDpkg::Arch -ne '$arch=Dpkg::Arch::get_host_arch;
if(/^(i.|.i)\s+(\S+)\s+(\S+)/) { print
$2_$3_$arch.deb\n$2_$3_all.deb\n}'

Bug#698111: ITP: zimlib -- Standard library implementation of ZIM specifications

2013-01-14 Thread Jaap Karssenberg
Git repository for zimlib shows rename was done in 2009, zim was
already a few years old at that time.

Afraid little I can do to resolve the clash other than renaming my
application, which needless to say, I don't want to because I like the
name.

When I saw this, it got me clearly confused because at first I thought
that it was related to http://zim-wiki.org/. It's a bit unfortunate that
Zim is used to refer to two projects reladed to wikis.

I don't know who was first but maybe you could point out the nameclash

FWIW the zim debian package refers to http://zim-wiki.org/ which I'm
 maintaining for Debian.

Bug#696767: RFS: mp3cat/0.5-1 [ITP]

Upstream Author : Tom Clegg t...@tomclegg.net
  * URL : http://tomclegg.net/mp3cat

  Section : sound

I had a look at your package and here are some remarks.

debian/control:
The Vcs-Svn header in the source section points to the upstream svn,
but the header should be pointing to the repository containing the
  debian/ files.

Would it be possible to mark mp3cat as Multi-Arch: foreign?

debian/patches/*.patch:
The patches contain useful headers with useless template values. Both
patches seem appropriate for upstream submission. Did you do that
already? Can you document the submission status in those headers?

debian/rules:
You pass the /usr prefix via $(DESTDIR). This is not wrong, but
uncommon. Maybe you could extend the patch that adds DESTDIR to also
add PREFIX? That would be useful for other distributions as well. It
would also likely remove the need to override dh_auto_install.

  # Sample debian/rules that uses debhelper. does not describe this
  file. It seems wrong.

debian/source.lintian-overrides:
Why do you override missing-license-text-in-dep5-copyright? I'd guess
that lintian is confused by the empty line after the Format header in
the middle of the header paragraph. If lintian is really wrong here,
please file a bug against lintian instead of overriding the warning,
because it should be possible to get this right.

debian/copyright:
You claim your copyright on debian/*, but debian/doc/mp3cat.html seems
like a verbatim copy of the upstream website. Could you check the
  attribution on the directory?

Package: kgb-client
Version: 1.05-1+squeeze1

In the dpkg repository, we have multiple branches. I maintain the
squeeze-backports branch... most of the commits in that branch are
just commits merged from master. Those commits should not be reported...
we already saw them. Instead it should just report the merge commit
and commits specific to that branch.

The basic rule is any commit that is already present in another branch
should not be reported.

It's not to difficult to implement. git-commit-notice on alioth already
has some logic to prevent this in the report by mail case. You can check
it out if you want.

I don't agree with this statement. Coming up with a name is always a

The question is more whether upstream is amenable to changing the name
given that zim from zim-wiki.org seems to predate openzim.org.

Bug#698019: libav: the effective GPL-licensed status of the binary packages should be clearly documented

I think that the effective licensing status of the binary packages
(GPL-2+ or GPL-3+) should be explicitly and clearly documented in
the comment at the beginning of the debian/copyright file and,
probably, in the binary package long descriptions, as well.

 Dear Reinhard, Francesco and everybody,

I think that the Debian copyright file of libav 6:9.1-1 is clear
enough with its comment in the header, and that it is best to keep the
license information out of the description of the package.

Newest progress(?) on this is commit e3731d with this commit message:

Document all licensing of binary packages in README.Debian (not partly
as comment in copyright file), to avoid confusing source

That change has not yet released but sits in our VCS. Could you please
comment on that?

Sorry, I can't figure out how to reference it at our public anoncms URL,
but it is commit e3731d at git.debian.org:/git/pkg-multimedia/libav .

Note that the machine-readable format also allows License fields in
the header paragraph to give the license information for the package
 as a whole.

I am aware of that. But I am not convinced that *any* of the licensing
formally covered by the copyright file format 1.0 are about the
licensing of _binary_ packages. It is my understanding that they all
are about sources only, not effective reasoned licenses.

PCMCIA has been a technology which was relevant in the 1990s and has
been superseded by e.g. ExpressCard for over 10 years.

I've CCed Colin, the pcmciautils maintainer, for his input.

pcmciautils is a slightly misleading name, as it does some CardBus
handling as well. However, it's true that udev improvements mean that
it's no longer actually needed to get anything other than 16-bit PCMCIA
cards up and running; so I think this proposed tasksel change is OK.

That's true. Given that this is a library a name change can lead to

Bug#693114: dovecot-core: Mailboxes inaccessible after upgrade

2013-01-14 Thread Mark Olsen
Another user bitten by this chiming in.

I just upgraded my Wheezy installation, which upgraded both dovecot-core and
dovecot-imapd from 1:2.1.7-2 to 1:2.1.7-6, and after the upgrade I could also
no longer access my mailboxes.

The change Jerry Quinn mentioned fixed it for me again, but Wheezy has been
frozen for quite a while now. I didn't expect a (supposed) bugfix upgrade of
Dovecot to completely break mail access on my system. Thankfully I know to
check for already existing Debian bugs for the package, but if I had been a
slightly more ordinary user, I would have been stuck with a broken mail system
and no idea how to fix it.

Bug#698136: dspam: recipient corrpution when releasing a message from quarantine

2013-01-14 Thread Danyi Dávid
Package: dspam
Version: 3.10.1+dfsg-6
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When releasing mail from quarantine, dspam corrupts the FROM part in the
SMTP/LMTP handshake (normal spam filter workflow works fine, this only affects
the release process).
The released email gets bounced and this leads to data loss, rendering the
quarantine useless as false positives can't be recovered.

please implement the following upstream patch that fixes the problem:
http://dspam.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=dspam/dspam;a=commit;h=cbed19764df8ecc1469f739ca33eb92aa3f67584

After applying the patch dspam works as intended.

Bug#698137: destroys icinga.cfg on postinst when it's a symlink

2013-01-14 Thread Peter Palfrader
Package: icinga-common

icinga-common's postinst has the following construct:

In my case, $conffile is a symlink:

so the postinst does effectively sed $file $file, and we all know
that this doesn't work and results in $file being empty at the end.

I propose to use sed's -i instead:

They are indeed right, generally speaking.

But when the effective license of binary package(s) is more
restrictive than it would seem to be by just looking at the
debian/copyright file, I think that a big warning should be put in a
prominent place in order to point out the situation.

What better place than the debian/copyright file to warn users about
some surprising licensing of binary packages?

I agree that debian/copyright is the best place to cover effective
licensing, but I disagree that we whould do it before it is defined as
the purpose of that file to cover *both* source and effective licensing.

Debian copyright file format 1.0 do not introduce new meaning or
requirements to the copyright file, only new structure!

Suppose I am the maintainer of another Debian package and I have to
assess whether it is legally possible to distribute that package
 linked with some libav libraries.
The first things to check would be the libav library binary package
descriptions and the libav debian/copyright file.
Most people would stop there, without studying the libav build process
in detail and without recursively checking the debian/copyright files
and build processes of all the direct and indirect dependencies of the
 libav libraries!

Stopping there is flawed, *because* looking at those places is not
enough to describe effective licensing!

One needs to examine the combined licensing of all parts of the chain -
which is a huge job, I agree. First step in imporving that job is to
make _source_ licensing machine readable *without* changing anything
else, and a later step is to hopefully make a tool that traverses all
build-dependencies to warn about potential incompatibilities.

I'm not a big fan of adding licence terms to the binary package
  description.

I can understand, but in some surprising cases it maybe makes sense.
Especially when multiple binary packages built from the same source
package end up having different effective licenses...

I find it false security to try document such elevations in
copylefting of licensing, because it not only is tied to the current
package and build flags there, but the whole chain of packages involved
in the build process.

Also, it still does not belong in the package description.

I would be quite happy to extend debian/copyright to also cover
effective licensing, but that should be a Debian-wide change of policy,
because doing it only when noticed could quite easily be
misinterpreted as having done it only when needed which is a quite
different thing.

Regards, and thanks a lot for raising this issue,

 - Jonas

Bug#698139: init script breaks badly with empty icinga.cfg, resulting in package being in a bad state

2013-01-14 Thread Peter Palfrader
Package: icinga-common
Version: 1.7.1-4
Severity: important

When, for some reason or another, one ends up with an empty icinga.cfg,
the init script fails:

This is particularly bad since it means the postinst script of icinga-common

Maybe in addition to making the init script more robust, you want to run

Could we just put the binary firmware file linux-wireless website[1],[2]
to firmware-linux-free for now, and do the build-from-sources firmware
for Jessie if if deemed neccesary?

I don't believe it's absolutely necessary to build from sources during
the package build, and indeed none of the other free firmware images are
rebuilt. The problem has been that I couldn't quite reproduce the
binary and the person submitting the firmware for linux-firmware.git
didn't respond to my request for information.

Anyway, I had another look and worked out the undocumented build steps
and I can now build a bit-identical firmware image, so I'm going to add
it.

Ben.

Dear Maintainer,

I use s2ram/s2disk for a long time without trouble. I have
installed

debian/testing on a new laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E325).
If s2ram runs fine, s2disk doesn't. When I launch s2disk, s2disk
starts but system hangs without message in syslog.
Point of the 'i' of Thinkpad is flashing and I have to disconnect
power to reboot.

I have tried some different configuration (/etc/uswsusp.conf)
without

any success.

Best regards,

JKB

Hi,

I had some troubles with some new kernel versions. Did you update
the
kernel image too? Could you try the previous version of uswsusp
with

your current kernel?

Today, I use 3.2.0-4 debian kernel. Which version of uswsusp should
be used with this kernel ?

Regards,

JKB

Hi,

sorry, I didn't explain right. uswsusp should be used with ANY
kernel

version, but, I had some problems with some kernel versions. Perhaps
some new kernels have some issues with the suspend process.

For this reason, if you can check different kernel versions with
different uswsusp versions, we can test if the problem is in the
uswsusp

package or in the linux-image package.

Just a remark. The same kernel with the same uswsusp run fine on my
Toshiba P200.

Regards,

JKB

Hi,

yes, it is normal. Before version 1.0 (included), uswsusp uses KMS
(Kernel Mode Set) if the kernel supports it. Using KMS, each device has
included the info to suspend, and this info is not included in the
uswsusp database. We have 3 options:

1. Your computer is in the database
2. Your computer is not in the database, KMS is included, KMS in the
kernel module is ok.
3. Your computer is not in the database, KMS is included, KMS in the
kernel module is not ok.

The problem could be if your computer is in the database now, but not
before, or if now you are using KMS and the kernel is right for your
device.

Please, in your Lenovo TP, try the same kernel with the previous
uswsusp version package and the current uswsusp package with the new
kernel version (the 4 options):

old kernel + old uswsusp = OK
old kernel + new uswsusp = ?
new kernel + old uswsusp = ?
new kernel + new uswsusp = FAIL

And check if your computer is in the database. Try it with s2ram -i.

Thanks a lot,
Best regards,
kix

As the subject says: README.PyDist, which is referred as documentation for

Bug#688845: texlive-fonts-extra: Please demote all additional Depends to Recommends

Could you please recognize that packaging TeX Live is not as easy as
task as you might imagine.

Did you check that *none* of the other files distributed by TeX Live
in the texlive-fonts-extra package require any of the font packages
that it depends on?

It is already a service to the users that we package and split TeX LIve
into smaller collections. I could have gone forth and just package
*ONE* package texlive which ships all the 2Gb ...

So please understand, that for implementing this there are a lot of
checks to be done, and instead of writing angry emails one could
help instead.

Hi Norbert,

it seems that my mail sounded a lot more angry than it was meant to.
Actually, it wasn't meant to sound angry at all. I just wanted to get
some feedback for my complaint, like Yes, we are considering this or
No, this won't happen, because I did not mean to offend anyone
and feel sorry I did so.

Now, replying to your paragraphs:

Could you please recognize that packaging TeX Live is not as easy as
 task as you might imagine.

Yes, I know that this is a complicated matter from my own short
experiments with tex-gyre, lmodern and some other packages.

Did you check that *none* of the other files distributed by TeX Live
in the texlive-fonts-extra package require any of the font packages
 that it depends on?

No, and I am even sure that some other files in texlive-fonts-extra
*do* require some of the fonts that it depends on. But I think that it
can be expected from users --if they want to use a font from
texlive-fonts-extra in TeX-- to make sure to install that actual font
package as well. Furthermore, recommended packages will be installed
alongside t-f-e by default; the main difference being that it's
allowed to remove them without having to remove t-f-e as well.

It is already a service to the users that we package and split TeX LIve
into smaller collections. I could have gone forth and just package
*ONE* package texlive which ships all the 2Gb ...

I know that the current packaging is a great service and I appreciate
it. It is just that I currently work on a LaTeX document on three
different systems and had to install the huge t-f-e package on all
three just because I decided to use one font that happened to be in
there. And I have not yet received any constructive feedback to my
complaint, that's why I wrote this other mail...

No hard feelings, honestly!

maybe I considered that commit to be the fix despite its from 2011 and
pre-4.3.17 (the bug has been reported against 4.3.17). The only
svn-related thing between 4.3.17 and 5.0.0 was 30197: complete

But this also means I've no idea to which commit Yann refers to.

Bug#698148: cutter-testing-framework: no GOffice 0.10 support

2013-01-14 Thread Colin Watson
Package: cutter-testing-framework
Version: 1.1.7-1.2
Severity: normal
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu raring

Unstable now has GOffice 0.10, but cutter-testing-framework won't build
with it; so it's one of the packages that will keep the old GOffice
library packages around until it's fixed or removed. (Given that
porting to the new GOffice also seems to require porting to GTK+ 3, I'm
a little surprised that GOffice 0.10 was packaged as a new version of
the same source package, but anyway ...)

Note that, although it's possible to build cutter-testing-framework
after changing the build-dependency from libgoffice-0.8-dev to
libgoffice-0.10-dev, this simply causes it to build without GOffice
support, and it isn't obvious that that's desirable.

Even the current upstream of cutter doesn't seem to have 0.10 support,
and the current package is well behind upstream and apparently
maintained by NMUs. It has no reverse-dependencies in unstable.
Perhaps it should simply be removed rather than putting lots of work
into trying to get it back into shape?

Thanks,

IMO this is due to a minor error in your patch. Using the attached one,

 Hi,

In some situations, transcoding a wmav2 file can lead to a infinite loop
(which is leaking a lot of memory).

A patch has been merged in ffmpeg codebase, but this is still present in
 libav. (3cb64e327a9861f2c8fff0b3850fcd5d14acdbe3 on ffmpeg git

Please find attached the backport of the patch.

 The bandwitch available is 100Mb.

ftp://ftp.cesca.cat/debian/project/trace/ doesn't display any trace file from
your mirror: either ftpsync is not used, or no successful sync ever happened,
so no trace file has been written yet.

You should check the logs of ftpsync, and configure ftpsync so that you receive
mails in case of error.

Rsync access no longer works. Do you want to fix it ?

Bug#698152: ITP: poti -- library to create trace files in the Paje file format

2013-01-14 Thread Vincent Danjean
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Vincent Danjean vdanj...@debian.org

* Package name: poti
  Version : 4.2
Upstream Author : Lucas Schnorr schn...@gmail.com
* URL : https://github.com/schnorr/poti
* License : LGPL-3.0+
  Programming Lang: C
Description : library to create trace files in the Paje file format

Poti is a library to create trace files in the Paje file format. This format
can represent lots of different kind of traces and it can be read by several
trace readers (vite, etc.) You should not use it directly during the tracing
of your application (nothing will stop you from doing this if you want). It is
recommended to use it after traces are collected in your preferred file format
(probably binary with memory buffers to avoid at a maximum the tracing
 intrusion).

Bug#698153: lvm2: LVM - kernel 3.6.11 - leaked on lvcreate invocation

2013-01-14 Thread Petr Nosek

Package: lvm2
Version: 2.02.95-4
Severity: important

distro: Raspbian

There is problem with LVM. The latest version works:
root@raspberrypi:/# uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 3.2.27+ #260 PREEMPT Thu Nov 8 00:34:12 GMT 2012 armv6l
GNU/Linux

now I use this version:
root@raspberrypi:/var/log# uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 3.6.11+ #348 PREEMPT Tue Jan 1 16:33:22 GMT 2013 armv6l
GNU/Linux

After reboot - these errors:

setting up lvm volume groups
mlock failed cannot allocate memory
munlock failed

After lvcreate:
root@raspberrypi:# lvcreate -L 1G -n test vg2t
File descriptor 8 (pipe:[15832]) leaked on lvcreate invocation. Parent PID

allocate memory
Logical volume test created

some problems are described here:
http://readlist.com/lists/redhat.com/linux-

lvm/1/6244.html

How to reproduce: connect usb disk with lvm and turn of raspberry pi.
Error is

visible when booting system. There is photo of my screen:
https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/185

Setting up LVM Volume Groups ... mlock failed: Cannot allocate memory

I'm affraid of data loosing, but i loks like, that disk is readable and
writable.

Somebody told me: try to reproduce this with a debian armel and if it's
reproducable, there report it to them. But i don't know how to try it. I
think,
that somebody has experience with this bug. Maybe - there is missing
some patch

in raspbian kernel or lvm2.

Can you help?

I think the bug doesn't seem as important as it is due to lack of
sufficient information
in my first e-mail.

If the server crashes with an empty binlog, on the next startup it
answers every submitted job with out of memory error and discards
it. So the service is rendered useless and requires manual
intervention.

Furthermore the patch is very trivial. Maybe it should be reconsidered?

Hi,

Any news on this bug? Since it matches the IPv6 release goal of wheezy,
the package can probably still be fixed. Furthermore, I'd like to stress
the importance of note b) above: an openvpn instance configured with
automatic restarts will exit unexpectedly after a number of restarts, if
IPv6 routes are pushed by the server.

An interesting detail is that this crash did not occur when I tried to

but

pdf2ps foo.pdf
evince foo.ps
print from within evince
success

The kbuild NMU, which migrated on Jan. 12th, seems to have exposed a bug
in kmk_sed which is affecting the virtualbox build. I've tried
rebuilding kbuild with Wheezy's gcc-4.6, since upstream indicates this
is a gcc-4.7-specific problem, but that didn't make a difference.

Reassigning to kbuild.
