Bug#414025: stacktrace again

It is better than the previous one, but still not good enough. Please
install kdeaddons-dbg, reproduce the bug and send the backtrace.

I installed kdeaddons-dbg as you required, but that's strange, kdeaddons is
NOT installed on my system.

For information, I have kdebase-dbg, kdeaddons-dbg and libc6-dbg installed,
thes are the only *-dbg packages I have.

So here is the trace.

Bug#414025: konqueror: Konqueror crashes when inserting an image in dokuwiki

2007-03-08 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6
Severity: important

Hi,

I am now working a report on dokuwiki and when I try to insert an
image in my document, it causes a crash of konqueror. The upload box
works fine, but that's when I select one picture in the list of those
which are allready uploaded that konqueror crashes.

I use a debian sid, the wiki I am using is hosted on my machine, I use
apache2 + ssl and dokuwiki, both from debian and up to date.

Bug#349862: kaffeine: volume control not working with some videos

2006-05-21 Thread Grégoire Druant
Le Vendredi 19 Mai 2006 20:17, Fathi Boudra a écrit :
 hi,

this bug isn't necessarily a kaffeine bug. In general i need to correctly
set master/pcm level using kmix regarding the application/video i use/play.
You need to find the correct level to use for your hardware inside kaffeine
(volume) and kmix (master, pcm, viadxs).

i want to close this bug but i'll wait your feedback about it.

 cheers,

 Fathi

PS: viadxs is used only on via chipset.

Hi,

I don't have the mentionned video any more, but as far as I remember, I had
tryied to lower the sound with kmix (master and pcm volume) too and that
didn't work too.

I'm sorry I can't tell you more, if you want you can close the bug, I will
submit more information when I can.

Bug#365609: kfmclient goes crazy when I click on a link in kmail

2006-05-19 Thread Grégoire Druant
Hi,

I've set konqueror %u as default browser in kcontrol to avoid the problem,
but if I select konqueror in the menu, it sets kfmclient (the command set in
the kmenu is kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing) and then, each time I click
on a link in kmail or in amarok or any kde application but konqueror,

I have the problem that kfmclient crashes, use a lot of ram and a lot of cpu
ressources, and it's very difficult to kill it from ksysguard because there
is more than one kfmclient process and because my system becomes very slow
after this problem is triggered.

For the same reason it's very hard to kill it from konsole, as bash takes a
long time to start.

the trace is useless. plase install:

 I suppose:

Bug#367204: kaffeine: kaffeine part makes konqueror crash

2006-05-14 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: kaffeine
Version: 0.8.1-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

When I use kaffeine embedded in konqueror, konqueror crashes with a
segfault soon after closing the window or tab in which kaffeine is.

I have already reported this bug to konqueror maintainers (bug
#346018), but I received no feedback and I'm not 100% sure that's a
konqueror bug.

Hi,

It appears that this bug is related to the font I set in kcontrol for the

It doesn't work with opensymbol, but I tried bitstream charter and it works
with it.

What is stange is that it worked fine about one month ago, and it doesn't work
anymore.

I think that the severity could be set to serious, because the aim of this

so the package is unusable.

Bug#348531: 348531

2006-04-08 Thread Grégoire Druant
Hi,

Just wanted to confirm this report -- it doesn't work over here either.
Tried enabling, disabling, logging out and back in, etc. This isn't really
a big deal since I don't use my desktop icons (and hardly ever see them).

Actually since I reported this bug, this function has worked back and stop
working from time to time, and it is now not working that's right.

Hi,

I can reproduce this bug with any video when I use a *.srt subtitle, if

Bug#360487: muse: muse segfaults on startup if not set suid

2006-04-02 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: muse
Version: 0.7.1+0.7.2pre5-2
Severity: important

Hi,

I just installed muse, it asked me if I want to set it suid, which I
answered no because I use realtime-lsm module and I can change the
nice value of a process without being root.
So right after the installation, I start muse :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ muse
No superuser privileges, using system timer fallback
NO Config File /home/greg/.MusE found
Trying RTC timer...
got timer = 12
QObject::connect: No such signal PartCanvas::horizontalScroll(int)
QObject::connect:  (sender name:   'unnamed')
QObject::connect:  (receiver name: 'unnamed')

starting with default template
  name2route: alsa_pcm:playback_1 not found
  name2route: alsa_pcm:playback_2 not found
Arranger::configChanged - no bitmap!
Erreur de segmentation

I tried dpkg-reconfigure muse, and I've set it suid, and it doesn't
crash now.

By the way maybe you could recommend the realtime-lsm package to
prevent from having to set muse suid.

Regards

Bug#355874: emacs21-el: some perl files are not corectly colored by perl-mode

2006-03-08 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: emacs21-el
Version: 21.4a-3
Severity: normal

Some perl files, as the attached one, are not correctly colored by
emacs' perl mode. I'm a noob in perl so I don't know if it's correct
not to consider the first quote in the line
*bs = \\b;
but if I drop the '\', there are still some errors in syntax
coloration at the end of the file (after line 575), '#' that are not at the
beginning
of the line are not ignored.

I tryed to open this file with vim and kwrite and they seem to work
fine on this file.

Bug#354656: debconf: debconf is unusable in a tty if kde frontend is selected

2006-02-27 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: debconf
Version: 1.4.71
Severity: important

I tried the kde frontend of debconf, it is nice, but right after I had
some troubles with xorg server and ati drivers , and it was very hard
to get back to a normal situation because each time I tried to
reinstall debian's xserver-xorg package, the installation failed with
an error message telling that some program could not connect to X
server.
The X server was not running and not able to run at this time.

I think that debconf should use the kde frontend when it is set AND
when the X server is available, and should fall back to dialog or
another console compatible frontend when X isn't available instead of
just aborting.

Oh, I hadn't this problem since recently, but I can't tell what
triggered it, the only change I made recently that could maybe affect
reboot and shutdown operation is to tell kdm I use lilo, but after test
that doesn't change anything.

Bug#351933: Please include filename in the window title under X

2006-02-09 Thread Grégoire Druant
Le Jeudi 09 Février 2006 00:11, Rob Browning a écrit :

How would you expect this feature to work given that emacs can (and
often does) have multiple buffers open in one frame?

There is only one buffer that has the focus at once.
For exemple, Eclipse's window title is Java - CurrentlyEditedClassName -
Eclipse SDK
and Kate's one is SessionName: CurrentlyEditedFile - Kate.

The two programs handle multiple buffers too, and the name inserted in the
window title
is the name of the buffer which has the focus.
I think that a comparable behavior for emacs would be nice.

Bug#351933: emacs21: Please include filename in the window title under X

2006-02-08 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: emacs21
Version: 21.4a-3
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I'm used to have more than one emacs opened at once, and I think it's
not very convenient to have [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED]2 ... as
window titles.

Something like current_buffer_name - emacs would be great.

Yes I have, but that's no exactly what I would like.
For example, that's not usable with an alias, so I will have to write a script
to make it the default behavior (a small one I agree), and if I open an emacs
just by typing emacs, and then I want to write a bug report, the window
will remain named [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#349862: kaffeine: volume control not working with some videos

2006-01-25 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: kaffeine
Version: 0.7.1-1.3+b1
Severity: normal

Sometimes, with some videos, the volume control of kaffeine is not
working and the sound is loud and crappy.
I've got a video which make kaffeine behave like that.

mlpayer says
Opening audio decoder: [pcm] Uncompressed PCM audio decoder
AUDIO: 22050 Hz, 1 ch, u8, 176.4 kbit/100.00% (ratio: 22050-22050)
Selected audio codec: [pcm] afm: pcm (Uncompressed PCM)

If I try to lower the sound with this video, it stays loud but some
noise is added (I don't know how to translate un bruit de masse, the
noise it makes when yo touch the edge of a guitar cable).

When I read this video with mplayer, I get xruns and when I read it
with vlc it works fine, all with alsa audio output.

I also try esd and arts audio output for kaffeine, that doesn't solve
the problem.

If you need more information, please ask.

I use kget as download manager for konqueror and I sometimes have
troubles with some downloads, kget opens a box and ask me to choose a

directory as redir.php and opens an error box saying :
Bad URL :

Bug#349352: kaffeine: automatically play dvd or audio cd doesn't work with kaffeine

2006-01-22 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: kaffeine
Version: 0.7.1-1.3+b1
Severity: normal

KDE has a new feature when inserting cd or dvd that allows the user to
automatically play an audio cd or a dvd with kaffeine once inserted.

The problem is that feature seem to call kaffeine with
system:/media/hdc (in my case) as a device, and it doesn't work for
me. If I set the device to /dev/hdc, /dev/cdrom or /dev/dvd, that
works.

It could be a kdesktop problem more than a kaffeine one, but for
instance kscd accepts system:/media/hdc as a device to play audio cds,
so I suppose it will become the standard way for automatic playback.

Bug#348602: kaffeine-xine : not a bug

2006-01-18 Thread Grégoire Druant
Hi,

I'm sorry, after investigation I foud out where the problem comes from :
It doesn't come from kaffeine but alsa.

I have set xine-engine to play the sound in 4 channels, and my alsa
configuration doesn't support more than two channels anymore (I don't
know why) so kaffeine says the audio device is busy.

After setting kaffeine to stereo 2.0, it plays the video and audio.
And for the video with crappy sound, the one I have for the moment has
a crappy sound with every video player, so it's a bad exemple :-( .

I'm sorry again, I should have done a little more checks before reporting.

Regards

Bug#348602: kaffeine-xine: fail to play some avi files

2006-01-17 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: kaffeine-xine
Version: 0.7.1-1.3+b1
Severity: normal

I meet some troubles to play some videos with kaffeine.
Sometimes it just says the audio device is busy so it will use null
audio device while the audio device is free, sometimes the sound is
loud and crappy and sometimes it works just fine.

I just tryed to play a movie which causes the problem, and as a bonus,
kaffeine-xine cannot play the video too (it let me see a black screen).
This video works fine with mplayer which said:

Kjobviewer starts for each printing job and stop just after since I
upgraded to kde 3.5.

That's very annoying when you have a lot of small printing jobs to do,
and each kjobviewer starting is a waste of time. I think it should
either run all the time in background or run on demand, or maybe the
choice should be given to the user.

Bug#345072: kwin: focus has a strange behavior on a dual head config.

2005-12-28 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: kwin
Version: 4:3.4.3-3
Severity: normal

Hi,

I use kde on a dual head configuration : the primary screen is a CRT one
(1024x768) and the secondary is a tv (800x600).

I only use the TV to play videos, but sometimes I meet some stranges
behaviors. For exemple, if I use the alt+tab hotkey to switch of window,
sometimes the change window box appears on the tv which is off, and then the
focus is on the tv and I have to click on the desktop of my main screen to
bring the focus back on it.

Another thing can be sometimes annoying : I have a multimedia keyboard with
some extra keys (Mail, Web, ...) and sometimes the application called by this
hotkey start on the wrong display. I don't understand this because this is
often when my tv is off (and by the way when I'm not using this screen) that
the problem happens.

Thanks.

Bug#344428: k3b: k3b very often ends dvd burning with a failure

2005-12-23 Thread Grégoire Druant
Hi

I made a few dvd burning with k3b and just in command line with growisofs :
growisofs succeded and k3b failed. I could not test every option that k3b
uses because some of them are undocumented (like --use-the-force-luke=xxx)
and because k3b uses temporary files which I don't know what they contain.

I used the same DVD-RW for all my tries, and of course the same dvd burner
which is a pioneer dvr-108.

I don't know if it a k3b bug or growisofs, so if you still think it comes from
growisofs, tell me and I will make a report to growisofs.

Gregoire

Bug#344557: dvd+rw-tools: growisofs often fail to burn DVDs

2005-12-23 Thread Grégoire Druant

Package: dvd+rw-tools
Version: 5.21.4.10.8-4

I use k3b to burn CDs and DVDs and for about two month it really often
fail to burn DVDs. I reported the bug to the k3b package maintainer
but the bug probably comes from growisofs (bug no 344428).

Here is the tail of a log of a failed DVD burning :

This log doesn't show any error but k3b just says that growisofs
exited with an error.

I made several tests and I noticed that the DVD burning was more often
successful when I don't use multisession mode, at this time no
no-multisession DVD burning failed, but I haven't made enough tries to
affirm it allways works.

I use a pioneer DVR-108 DVD burner which is one year old, as the rest
of my computer.

Regards

Bug#343348: kmail: Answer to a mail is send to a wrong address

2005-12-14 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.4.3-1
Severity: important

I use kmail for my e mails and I experienced a bug which I consider
important.

I'm a student.

I received a mail from a teacher which was send to all the students by
an address like [EMAIL PROTECTED], and I answered it
by the kmail answer function, and the answer has been send to the
diffusion address instead of the sender's one.

This bug is reproductible whith all the addresses of this kind
(diffusions lists) but kmail works fine with personal mails (sended
only to me).

I use the term diffusion list but the diffusion address is similar to
a normal one and I don't understand why kmail behaves differently with
it.

Bug#336528: Subject: openoffice.org: openoffice freezes when clicking on help-register

2005-10-30 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 2.0.0-1
Severity: normal

There is a bug in the registering function of openoffice : I use
openoffice-kde package and when I click on help - register, the help
menu stays on top and konqueror start behind. It seems to load the
page fine, but that's impossible to get it on foreground, and every
mouse action become useless. For exemple, it's impossible to switch
virtuals desktops using the mouse, BUT it is with the keyboard hotkey.
Help/register menu stays on top on every virtual desktop.
The only way I found to get my mouse working back is killall
soffice.bin.

After that everything works again.

I asked on a forum if other peoples had experienced this problem and
someone who was using neither openoffice-kde nor kde did.

He first tried whis firefox allready running, got an error message
(error while starting the web browser, check the parameters of
OpenOffice.org and the web browser) but openoffice registering page
has nevertheless been loaded. Then he tried with firefox stopped, and
OpenOffice has freezed exactly like it did for me.

Bug#327414: bash: no completion for invoke-rc.d

2005-10-29 Thread Grégoire Druant
I found out that service command which is not present in debian and make quite
the thame job is handled by bash_completion.

I looked into the script an I've seen that there's a function almost ready to
use : service() .

I changed a few lines and it seem to work, with all /etc/init.d script as
first parameter and with {start|stop|reload|...} in second parameter when
available.

I hope you will use it :-)

Here is the patch :

Bug#334859: Problems of transparency and display refreshing

2005-10-20 Thread Grégoire Druant
Package: kicker
Version: 4:3.4.2-3
Severity: normal

I use the transparency of the taskbar in kde, but when an icon is
added in the miniature box, or when I add an applet in the
taskbar, kicker doesn't repaint the taskbar which causes bad visual
effects.

I'm not fluent in english so have a look at this screenshot, that will
be easier to understand ;)
