Le Vendredi 19 Mai 2006 20:17, Fathi Boudra a écrit : hi, this bug isn't necessarily a kaffeine bug. In general i need to correctly set master/pcm level using kmix regarding the application/video i use/play. You need to find the correct level to use for your hardware inside kaffeine (volume) and kmix (master, pcm, viadxs). i want to close this bug but i'll wait your feedback about it. cheers, Fathi PS: viadxs is used only on via chipset. Hi, I don't have the mentionned video any more, but as far as I remember, I had tryied to lower the sound with kmix (master and pcm volume) too and that didn't work too. Bug#365609: kfmclient goes crazy when I click on a link in kmail
Hi, I've set konqueror %u as default browser in kcontrol to avoid the problem, but if I select konqueror in the menu, it sets kfmclient (the command set in the kmenu is kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing) and then, each time I click on a link in kmail or in amarok or any kde application but konqueror, I have the problem that kfmclient crashes, use a lot of ram and a lot of cpu ressources, and it's very difficult to kill it from ksysguard because there is more than one kfmclient process and because my system becomes very slow after this problem is triggered. For the same reason it's very hard to kill it from konsole, as bash takes a long time to start. Regards -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#361397: Unreadable menus
Hi, It appears that this bug is related to the font I set in kcontrol for the menus. It doesn't work with opensymbol, but I tried bitstream charter and it works with it. What is stange is that it worked fine about one month ago, and it doesn't work anymore. Regards -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#362911: gsfonts-x11: Fonts not installed properly
Is there a solution to this bug ? I think that the severity could be set to serious, because the aim of this package is to make gsfonts available under X, and for now it is not the case, so the package is unusable. Bug#348531: 348531
Hi, Just wanted to confirm this report -- it doesn't work over here either. Tried enabling, disabling, logging out and back in, etc. This isn't really a big deal since I don't use my desktop icons (and hardly ever see them). Actually since I reported this bug, this function has worked back and stop working from time to time, and it is now not working that's right. Grégoire

Bug#354656: debconf: debconf is unusable in a tty if kde frontend is selected
Package: debconf Version: 1.4.71 Severity: important I tried the kde frontend of debconf, it is nice, but right after I had some troubles with xorg server and ati drivers , and it was very hard to get back to a normal situation because each time I tried to reinstall debian's xserver-xorg package, the installation failed with an error message telling that some program could not connect to X server. The X server was not running and not able to run at this time. Le Vendredi 10 Février 2006 19:58, Christian Perrier a écrit : This actually does not make the bug grave, imho. Leaving the decision to Daniel, the package maintainer, but I really fail to see why it makes the package in question unusable or mostly so or causes data loss. I would rather tag it important That's not a problem for me. What made me tag it grave is that I wanted to install apache from testing which has security updates, and I've got apache from sid wich has no security updates without being telled.

Bug#351933: Please include filename in the window title under X
Le Jeudi 09 Février 2006 00:11, Rob Browning a écrit : How would you expect this feature to work given that emacs can (and often does) have multiple buffers open in one frame? There is only one buffer that has the focus at once. For exemple, Eclipse's window title is Java - CurrentlyEditedClassName - Eclipse SDK and Kate's one is SessionName: CurrentlyEditedFile - Kate. The two programs handle multiple buffers too, and the name inserted in the window title is the name of the buffer which has the focus. I think that a comparable behavior for emacs would be nice. Bug#349352: kaffeine: automatically play dvd or audio cd doesn't work with kaffeine
Package: kaffeine Version: 0.7.1-1.3+b1 Severity: normal KDE has a new feature when inserting cd or dvd that allows the user to automatically play an audio cd or a dvd with kaffeine once inserted. The problem is that feature seem to call kaffeine with system:/media/hdc (in my case) as a device, and it doesn't work for me. If I set the device to /dev/hdc, /dev/cdrom or /dev/dvd, that works. It could be a kdesktop problem more than a kaffeine one, but for instance kscd accepts system:/media/hdc as a device to play audio cds, so I suppose it will become the standard way for automatic playback. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.14.6 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages kaffeine depends on: ii kaffeine-xine 0.7.1-1.3+b1 Xine engine for kaffeine media pla ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.0-3 core libraries for all KDE applica ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libaudio2 1.7-3 The Network Audio System (NAS). Bug#348602: kaffeine-xine : not a bug
Hi, I'm sorry, after investigation I foud out where the problem comes from : It doesn't come from kaffeine but alsa. I have set xine-engine to play the sound in 4 channels, and my alsa configuration doesn't support more than two channels anymore (I don't know why) so kaffeine says the audio device is busy. After setting kaffeine to stereo 2.0, it plays the video and audio. And for the video with crappy sound, the one I have for the moment has a crappy sound with every video player, so it's a bad exemple :-( . Bug#345072: kwin: focus has a strange behavior on a dual head config.
Package: kwin Version: 4:3.4.3-3 Severity: normal Hi, I use kde on a dual head configuration : the primary screen is a CRT one (1024x768) and the secondary is a tv (800x600). I only use the TV to play videos, but sometimes I meet some stranges behaviors. For exemple, if I use the alt+tab hotkey to switch of window, sometimes the change window box appears on the tv which is off, and then the focus is on the tv and I have to click on the desktop of my main screen to bring the focus back on it. Another thing can be sometimes annoying : I have a multimedia keyboard with some extra keys (Mail, Web, ...) and sometimes the application called by this hotkey start on the wrong display. I don't understand this because this is often when my tv is off (and by the way when I'm not using this screen) that the problem happens. Bug#344428: k3b: k3b very often ends dvd burning with a failure
Hi I made a few dvd burning with k3b and just in command line with growisofs : growisofs succeded and k3b failed. I could not test every option that k3b uses because some of them are undocumented (like --use-the-force-luke=xxx) and because k3b uses temporary files which I don't know what they contain. I used the same DVD-RW for all my tries, and of course the same dvd burner which is a pioneer dvr-108. I don't know if it a k3b bug or growisofs, so if you still think it comes from growisofs, tell me and I will make a report to growisofs. Bug#336528: Subject: openoffice.org: openoffice freezes when clicking on help-register
Package: openoffice.org Version: 2.0.0-1 Severity: normal There is a bug in the registering function of openoffice : I use openoffice-kde package and when I click on help - register, the help menu stays on top and konqueror start behind. It seems to load the page fine, but that's impossible to get it on foreground, and every mouse action become useless. For exemple, it's impossible to switch virtuals desktops using the mouse, BUT it is with the keyboard hotkey. Help/register menu stays on top on every virtual desktop. The only way I found to get my mouse working back is killall soffice.bin. After that everything works again. I asked on a forum if other peoples had experienced this problem and someone who was using neither openoffice-kde nor kde did. He first tried whis firefox allready running, got an error message (error while starting the web browser, check the parameters of OpenOffice.org and the web browser) but openoffice registering page has nevertheless been loaded. Then he tried with firefox stopped, and OpenOffice has freezed exactly like it did for me. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13.4 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages openoffice.org depends on: ii openoffice.org-base 2.0.0-1OpenOffice.org office suite - data ii openoffice.org-calc 2.0.0-1OpenOffice.org office suite - spre ii openoffice.org-core 2.0.0-1OpenOffice.org office suite archit ii openoffice.org-draw 2.0.0-1OpenOffice.org office suite - draw ii openoffice.org-impress2.0.0-1OpenOffice.org office suite - pres ii openoffice.org-math 2.0.0-1OpenOffice.org office suite - equa ii openoffice.org-writer 2.0.0-1OpenOffice.org office suite - word openoffice.org recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#327414: bash: no completion for invoke-rc.d
I found out that service command which is not present in debian and make quite the thame job is handled by bash_completion. I looked into the script an I've seen that there's a function almost ready to use : service() . I changed a few lines and it seem to work, with all /etc/init.d script as first parameter and with {start|stop|reload|...} in second parameter when available. I hope you will use it :-) Here is the patch : http://madcat227.free.fr/debian/forum/completion/bash_completion.diff -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#334859: Problems of transparency and display refreshing
