Bug#478359: [Python-apps-team] Bug#478359: mayavi2: fails to read blocks other than the first, in multiblock PLOT3D files

multi-block data.

Well, I would say it supports it partially, in the sense that it reads
multi-block data, but is only able to load the first block...

That is correct. It is actually easy to let a user view a single block
at a time since all of the outputs are already setup. I have to think
more about how to do this better.

OK, let's tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

Thanks for the detailed feature description you need.

I am aware that the above could be tricky and burdensome to implement.
If it turns out to be really too hard (even for visualization gurus
like you!), my original request is an second-choice simpler approach.
I'll repeat it here, just to be sure what I'm referring to is clear
enough:

This is useful. Varun, would it be possible to file this as a ticket
please so we don't miss it.

prabhu

/var/lib/mpd contains user data (usually symlinks to music and/or playlists but

Why must the ordering change then a plugin in enabled or loaded?

Hi,

This is reminder for closed bug.

-X option for testing example is best seen by following how I create
testing of prepackaged source by make test in the root of source.

It calls script which generate test SGML source and run all locales to
build several targets.

I hope this helps.

  Hi,

I'm building a package (non-official) that relies on SDL. The build
system uses the standard SDL m4 macros, and in particular it uses the
  output of:
  $ sdl-config --libs
  -L/usr/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib -lSDL -lpthread

Wow, that's strange. Are you sure you are running sdl-config from the
debian package? The rpath part is not present on my system.

Hmm, right. After 'aptitude reinstall libsdl1.2-dev' this changed to:

$ sdl-config --libs
-L/usr/lib -lSDL

I guess this is a left-over from an old SDL bugfix session :/

Sorry for the trouble :)

Bug#480632: amule-daemon: Kad address (http://download.overnet2000.de/nodes.dat) invalid and cannot be changed

2008-05-11 Thread Axel K. Stammler
Package: amule-daemon
Version: 2.1.3-1
Severity: important

Kad did not start even though I had received a high ID on ED2K, so I tried to
download http://download.overnet2000.de/nodes.dat in my browser and received the
reply The requested URL /nodes.dat was not found on this server.

I then went through amulegui, amulecmd and the web interface (port 4711) but
could not change the address. Then I grepped ~/.aMule/* and
/etc/default/amule-daemon but could not find out where this address is stored.

I then tried downloading a nodes.dat file I found through a web search and
putting it into ~./aMule. This works with varying results. Sometimes Kad is
connected but most of the time it is either running but disconnected or not
running. Kad searches never give any results whatever the status. Of course,
after a few days Kad cannot connect to anything anymore because the file is out
of date.

Bug#480534: installing 0.8-1 on amd64 did break something: reinstalling 0.7-2 does not make it work while it previously did

2008-05-11 Thread Eric Valette
So after testing everything was fine on my ia32 laptop, I tried to debug
a bit more on amd64 arch.

I first tried to reproduce the original problem (causing crash on
icedove after upgrade) So I purged the 0.8 version, resintalled the
previously working 0.7-2 version.

Surprise, the extension was not seen/loaded. Suspected my account.
Created a brand new one, and run icedove. It found only the openpgp
extension as it did on my own account.

= help. I'm lost

Bug#480571: dmidecode: Please add hurd-i386 in the archs

2008-05-11 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
[Samuel Thibault]
dmidecode builds fine on hurd-i386, please add it to the archs.

 Does it work too?

Not yet, but having it compiled will let people try and debug it.

People can debug it independent of the list of architectures listed in
the Architecture: header. The list of architectures is a statement
from me as the maintainer on which architectures I belive is working,
and I will only add archs that are reported to work. I do not want
bug reports claiming dmidecode do not work on hurd, before anyone have
actually ported it to hurd. :)

So, if you want hurd added to the Architecture: header, submit a
tested patch making it work on hurd. :) Preferably it should be sent
upstream as well.

Why would it? To my knowledge it just reads /dev/mem, which the
Hurd has, but seemingly lacks some support for it.

No idea. Perhaps the upstream author know? :)

Happy hacking,

I'm sure I've asked you this before, but once again: please stop filing
bugs against man-db about warning messages on individual manual pages.
Your default should be to file them against the package providing the
manual page. If the maintainer of that package thinks that it is not a
problem in the manual page after having investigated it, then the
maintainer is welcome to reassign the bug to man-db.

 With any pipe or redirection:
 $ man perldelta | wc
standard input:1010: `\-' is not allowed in an escape name
11858039 58334
 $ man perldelta|:
standard input:1010: `\-' is not allowed in an escape name
 $ man perldelta  /dev/null
standard input:1010: `\-' is not allowed in an escape name

The warning is correct. The page uses \*(d\- when it should use \*(d-
instead, perhaps as a result of overzealous dash substitution.

 But not
 $ PAGER=/bin/true man perldelta
 $

This is intentional:

man-db (2.5.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

man isn't going to try to guess whether the pager you provided is
actually a real pager or just an artifice for the purposes of
demonstrating an alleged bug.

We've added a workaround at d-i to the cairo's bug #477441 to avoid to

Installer point of view and we'd like to get it fixed as soon as
 possible.

I've sent a follow-up to the bug (here in CC) asking for the directfb
backend changes to be reverted to the latest working code _but_ to
wait until we release Debian Installer Lenny Beta 2 for the upload.

With that in mind, I'd like to ask for the cairo unblock.

I'll keep in touch with cairo maintainer and GNOME team to get it
 done.

Ok, now that cairo is in testing I'll upload a new cairo on Monday or
Tuesday that reverts the broken DirectFB code. Fine with you?

Bug#475669: Suggest informing the user

2008-05-11 Thread Adam Rice
Thanks Shaun,

The last time I had Azureus working was also with Sun's VM. I didn't use it
for several months, and it looks like the default java VM was switched to GIJ
by an upgrade in the meantime. So unfortunately I cannot confirm whether it
worked previously.

I just tested with gij 4.1 and gij 4.2, and they both exhibit the same
behaviour as gij 4.3, ie. they fail to establish any peer connections.

Thanks,
Adam

My preference would be to fix the bug, of course! But with the bug

know that it works with Sun's VM.

I guess that would add a dependency on the xll-utils package, which is

Bug#480630: [module-init-tools] update-modules command is deprecated and should not be used

Package: module-init-tools
Version: 3.4-1
Severity: normal

During setserial install I get:

*
* The update-modules command is deprecated and should not be used!
*

see bug #468420 where Vincent Lefevre say:

Isn't it a bug in module-init-tools, then? If update-modules does
nothing, it should be removed! IMHO, setserial does the right thing:
before executing update-modules, it tests whether it is available,
so that it can work with old versions of module-init-tools (where
update-modules is useful) *and* with future ones where update-modules
 should be removed.

Bug#480571: dmidecode: Please add hurd-i386 in the archs

dmidecode builds fine on hurd-i386, please add it to the archs.

 Does it work too?

Not yet, but having it compiled will let people try and debug it.

I thought it was quite tied to the linux kernel.

Why would it? To my knowledge it just reads /dev/mem, which the Hurd
has, but seemingly lacks some support for it.

public repo for maintenance, and name the remaining remote origin.

I am not sure, but if you want you can try reassigning the bug if it
 helps.

I think it could help, but anyway I cannot think of any other
reasonable course of action. The bug is really present, hence I should
not close the bug report; the bug shows up with only one video chipset
and driver, hence mayavi2 or vtk are not to be blamed.

I think the bug report must be reassigned where it belongs: I've just
done so.

Bug#478017: A possible cause for the segfault

2008-05-11 Thread abli
As noted in my previous mail, the patch included in it fixes the
segfault. However, running mayavi2 produces the following gtk warning
which might be relevant:

(python:16054): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_colormap: assertion
`!GTK_WIDGET_REALIZED (widget)' failed

Putting debug printfs around the line

 scene = DecoratedScene(parent)

In the patch, shows that the gtk warning is triggered by that line. I
think the segfault is caused by the same bug that produces this gtk
warning, since the warning is about such a 'twiddling a widget that is
not fully initialized' situation.

I assume the warning itself is reproducible for others, since it is
mentioned in debian bug no. 478844
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=478844)

Bug#453903: ghostscript BusError cause

2008-05-11 Thread Bernhard R. Link
I've identified one cause of BusError on startup. (I'm not entirely sure
it is the only one, but it definitely is the cause for the easily
reproduceable one, and while I think I saw one with this worked around
in the early tests, I cannot reproduce the other, so there might either
be another issue left or I once forget to save or recompile).

The cause is corruption at the following piece of code in igcref.c:715:

715:ref rtemp;
716:
717:if_debug2('8', [8]ref 0x%lx copied to 0x%lx\n,
718:  (ulong) src, (ulong) dest);
719:/* We can't just use ref_assign_inline, */
720:/* because the source and destination */
721:/* might overlap! */
722:ref_assign_inline(rtemp, (ref *) src);
723:r_clear_attrs(rtemp, l_mark);
724:ref_assign_inline((ref *) dest, rtemp);

As far as I understand, the problem is that gcc knows that two (ref*)
pointers cannot possibly overlap, so it optimizes away the temporary
variable (at least partially), causing corruption of the packed array.
(Which then again causes bus errors in other code like the garbage collection).

Here is the assember generated by gcc with -O2:
.loc 1 722 0
ld [%g3+4], %g2
.loc 1 724 0
st %g2, [%i1+4]
sth %g1, [%i1]
.loc 1 722 0
st %g2, [%fp-20]
lduh[%g3+2], %g1
.loc 1 725 0
add %g3, 8, %g3
.loc 1 724 0
sth %g1, [%i1+2]

It first does part of the move from src to register, then from register to dest,
only then copying another part of src to register, clearing the bit and storing
that part to dest. As the clearing is done in the part with the lower address,
it even copies the second part first, thus if compressing an array quite likely
overwriting a part it just reads after that.

The attached patch fixes it for me, and I think it also is the correct solution
that will survive more inteligent compilers.

Bug#480636: lintian: rpath check fails to detect private libraries

2008-05-11 Thread Aurelien Jarno
Package: lintian
Version: 1.23.46
Severity: normal

From the lintian description of binary-or-shlib-defines-rpath:

| The binary or shared library sets RPATH. This overrides the normal
| library search path, possibly interfering with local policy and
| causing problems for multilib, among other issues.
| The only time a binary or shared library in a Debian package should
| set RPATH is if it is linked to private shared libraries in the same

But lintian outputs a warning anyway for private libraries:

| W: libc6: binary-or-shlib-defines-rpath ./usr/lib/gconv/EUC-CN.so $ORIGIN

| W: libc6: binary-or-shlib-defines-rpath ./usr/lib/gconv/EUC-JP-MS.so $ORIGIN

It probably misses the point that $ORIGIN in an rpath means the same
directory as the current library, which is here a private directory.

None of the other screensaver exhibited this behaviour, and for

sometimes just the first click on was enough to hang X.

Sorry, I cannot reproduce this behavior, please check that you can

 What gives you glxgears?

glxgears works fine (reporting about 1200 fps)...unless I close the
terminal session I launch glxgears from before exiting gxlgears. Then
X hangs as with the screensaver hacks.

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1344638 10 mag 22:30 initrd.img-2.6.24-1-amd64

I tried using both yaird 0.0.12-25 and initramfs-tools 0.92a and the result
is similar.

I attached diff between initramfs of etch kernel and lenny kernel.

Bug#480635: glxgears: closing launch terminal hangs X, powerdown required

2008-05-11 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Package: mesa-utils
Version: 7.0.3-1
Severity: important

Launching glxgears from a terminal session then closing the terminal results in
X freezing and refusing to respond to input, in fact making it impossible to
even switch to a virtual terminal. This is likely the reason certain
xscreensaver hacks (gflux and polytopes) hang X when run from xscreensaver-demo
(I previously filed a report on that).

This probably affects other packages, and it hangs X, which is why I have given
important rather than normal.

Bug#480639: elisa: All media files ignored

2008-05-11 Thread Daniel Nilsson
Package: elisa
Version: 0.3.5-3
Severity: important

I'm trying to evaluate elisa but I'm stuck on a problem where all my media
files are ignored, no files shows up in the gui available for playback. This is
what I get on the console when elisa starts:

I _assume_ this is what leads to this issue where only the directories of my
music collection shows up. Running with debug on I get this:

This is the case for all audio, video and picture files, leaving only on-line

in elisa.

Same problem is reported at:
http://elisa.fluendo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=1715 but I'm
not sure this is an upstream bug though, it appears more likely to be a
dependency or versioning
conflict? I'm not that familiar with python though so I'm not able to debug.

In what way was this blocking the perl5.10-transition?

perl5.10 needs all perl packages including binary extension to go in at
the same time, including libcyrus-imap-perl22. That package is part of
the cyrus-imapd-2.2 source package, which is (obviously) part of the
heimdal transition. We will need to do the heimdal, perl5.10 and clamav

Bug#480638: dpkg-dev: unreasonable dependency on build-essential

2008-05-11 Thread Alexis Huxley
Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.14.18
Severity: important

I build packages of shell and perl scripts using dpkg-buildpackage.

Until recently this did not require any of g++, g++-4.2, gcc, gcc-4.2,
libstdc++6-4.2-dev to be installed but now when I run dpkg-buildpackage
I get:

...
dpkg-checkbuilddeps: Unmet build dependencies: build-essential
...

My Build-Depends-Indep: and Depends: lines contain simply the stuff
I will use:

lasagne$ grep Depends control
Build-Depends-Indep: debhelper ( 4.0.0), ade
Depends: perl, bash, apt-utils, dpkg-dev
lasagne$

1) add -d to my calls to dpkg-buildpackage, or
2) install build-essential

Both are unreasonable: either I must sacrifice dpkg-buildpackage's
dependency checking abilities, or I must bloat my system with some
large packages which will not be used at all.

In changelog.Debian.gz I see:

 * Add build-essential as an implicit Build-Depends in
dpkg-checkbuilddeps.
   Closes: #402901

which is clearly the cause of the problem. The assumption in
#402901's bug report (no package should need to state a dependency on
build-essential, since that dependency is implicit) is, as packaging
shell scripts proves, false.

Further, the package description for build-essential even confirms that
it should not be a prerequisite for dpkg-buildpackage to function
correct:

... Moreover this package is not required for building Debian
packages.

dpkg-buildpackage's run-time dependency on build-essential should be backed
out.

If I can be of further assistance (trying to build packages with modified
dpkg-dev), then let me know. Thanks.

Alexis Huxley

Bug#480563: Doesn't strip binary NMU version (+b1, +bN etc.) when reporting bugs

2008-05-11 Thread Loïc Minier
On Sat, May 10, 2008, Chris Lawrence wrote:
I'm not sure this would be correct behavior, since a binNMU could
quite plausibly introduce bugs that wouldn't be present before the
binNMU. Perhaps debbugs should be smarter about binNMUs though.

I wondered about this as well before filing the bug; on IRC
(#debian-devel-fr), the consensus was slightly in favor of reporting it
against reportbug, but I know it probably affects other bug reporting
 tools.

Changing debbugs to track binary version is really hard, I think we
shouldn't intermix this feature with the rewrite, however it might be
as simple to rewrite versions on the debbugs side of things rather than
coding it in all bug reporting clients.

It seems some people want to have QtWebKit shipped from webkit.org in Debian
archive with QtWebKit shipped from Qt.

 Well, I can't stop them as i think it's useless, so i I reopen/reassign to
 webkit.

I'll also add that the qt port diverges enough from original WebKit that
we shouldn't replace one by the other. And having 2 sources for the Qt
port is not something I want. Fortunately, they are converging (AFAICS
from the changelogs, a bunch has already been pushed on trunk), but the
WebKit released in Qt 4.4 will still definitely be different from WebKit
trunk, though WebKit in next Qt might be more like WebKit trunk (though
nothing is sure here. Trolltech might just fork again when preparing
next Qt)

Also, both ports (qt and gtk+) don't have the same release schedules.
Actually, there hasn't been a formal release of the gtk+ port.

Anyways, let's wait and see how things settle. In the meanwhile, this is
wontfix.

Mike

I discovered this problem in my sid chroot. The apt-p2p init.d stop
scripts is executed after sendsigs killed all processes, and thus will
not do what it is supposed to do. Sendsigs is part of the $remote_fs
virtual facility. Also, as it does not start in rcS.d, it should have
a start dependency on $remote_fs too.

The solution is to let the apt-p2p init.d script have a dependency on
the $remote_fs vacility. Please apply the following patch.

Bug#474400: Testsuite failure of bsdtar

2008-05-11 Thread Bernhard R. Link
I think I found the problem:
# tar -tvvf ustar/archive 21 | grep
'original/f_abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijkl '
says:
hrw-r--r-- brl/brl 0 2008-05-11 11:41
original/f_abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijkl link to
original/l_abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijkl

This is the file with 92 characters, which is (as far as I understand
test_copy.c:111) not expressable as link.

I guess the reason for this is that depending on the filesystem options
readdir returns the prior created files in some random order, so
sometimes l_* gets returned before f_* (judging from the Debian buildds,
on Linux actually more often than not). And thus the test-case fails.

Hochachtungsvoll,
Bernhard R. Link

By the way, I think there is also a race condition in
cpio/test/test_format_new.c in test_format_newc. In one run
one of the assertEqualInt(t, from_hex(e + 46, 8)); failed for me with
two number differing by one. (I guess some the second stepped just as
the wrong moment). Dunno if that is important enough to fix, as seldom
as it seems to happen.

Bug#480644: kde-core: Major problems with window behavior after upgrade

2008-05-11 Thread Yitzchak Gale
Package: kde-core
Version: 5:48
Severity: important

After testing upgraded a number of KDE packages for me
last night, I having major problems with window behavior
under KDE.

o When I click on the menu bar in a KDE application,
such as in the Control Center, nothing happens. If I then
move the mouse to a different menu item (without clicking),
that other menu item drops down. I can then open any menu
  item by moving the mouse.

o In KDE applications, such as in the Control Center, clicking
on a drop-down list only selects the control but the list does
not open. The only way to browse the items in the drop-down
list or change the selected item is to use the keyboard.

o In Iceweasel, clicking on the menu bar does nothing at all.
The only way to access menu items in Iceweasel is to use
  the keyboard.

Bug#468420: Bug#480630: [module-init-tools] update-modules command is deprecated and should not be used

2008-05-11 Thread Marco d'Itri
On May 11, Davide Prina [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

No.

nothing, it should be removed! IMHO, setserial does the right thing:
This would instantly break an unknown number of packages (but feel free
to grep the whole archive for update-modules invocations and I will
reconsider this).

before executing update-modules, it tests whether it is available,
so that it can work with old versions of module-init-tools (where
update-modules is useful) *and* with future ones where update-modules
  should be removed.
There are no versions of module-init-tools where update-modules is
useful, it only had an use in modutils which is old enough that modern
packages do not need to care.

[Frans Pop]
logcheck informed me of the following error in popcon:
 /etc/cron.weekly/popularity-contest:
 v-string in use/require non-portable at /usr/sbin/popularity-contest line 26.

This is the same as #480228.

This is almost certainly related to the current perl transition.

Yes, it is actually a bug/misfeature of perl, and already fixed there
(#479863).

Not quite sure if #480228 and #480501 should be reassigned to perl or
closed here.

Bug#480647: mysql-client-5.0: include symlinks for mysqlcheck (mysqlrepair, mysqlanalyze, mysqloptimize)

2008-05-11 Thread Teodor
Package: mysql-client-5.0
Version: 5.0.51a-5
Severity: minor

The manual page for 'mysqlcheck' says:

mysqlcheck has a special feature compared to other client
programs. The default behavior of checking tables (--check) can be
changed by renaming the binary. If you want to have a tool that
repairs tables by default, you should just make a copy of
mysqlcheck named mysqlrepair, or make a symbolic link to
mysqlcheck named mysqlrepair. If you invoke mysqlrepair, it repairs
   tables.

The following names can be used to change mysqlcheck default
behavior:

   +--+--+
   |mysqlrepair | The default option is --repair |
   +--+--+
   |mysqlanalyze | The default option is --analyze |
   +--+--+
   |mysqloptimize | The default option is --optimize |
   +--+--+

First it says to create these symlinks but later it says that you can
use them. Maybe we should include these symlinks in the package.

Thanks

Yes, it is probably that bug, although it does not happen for every
theme with background pattern (See Aero theme below).

Can you try with a different theme, and perhaps also with version 2.22
 of g-s?

I've tried different themes with version 2.22.2-1 of
gnome-screensaver. I first noticed this bug the theme SphereCrystal.

Theme: SphereCrystal
Background: gray stripes
screensaver:themes background
mini preview: blank screen
fullscreen preview: blank screen

Theme: Aero
Background: patterned background
screensaver:blank screen
mini preview: themes background
fullscreen preview: themes background

Theme: Amarenth, Clearlooks
Background: solid color
screensaver:blank screen
mini preview: blank screen
fullscreen preview: blank screen

I don't seem to have any other themes with patterned background
installed.

Thanks,
Jö.

2008-05-11 Thread Alexis Huxley
Package: libqt4-gui
Version: 4.4.0~rc1-5

(I discovered this problem when stellarium stopped work following
an upgrade to the latest 'testing'.)

apt-file indicates that libQtOpenGL.so.4 is provided by libqt4-gui:

lasagne# apt-file search libQtOpenGL.so.4
libqt4-debug: /usr/lib/libQtOpenGL.so.4.3.4.debug

libqt4-gui: /usr/lib/libQtOpenGL.so.4.3
libqt4-gui: /usr/lib/libQtOpenGL.so.4.3.4

But, although I have the package installed:

lasagne# dpkg -l libqt4-gui | grep ^ii
ii libqt4-gui4.4.0~rc1-5 Qt 4 GUI module
lasagne#

the file is not in the package:

lasagne# dpkg -L libqt4-gui | grep /usr/lib/libQtOpenGL.so.4
lasagne#

and does not exist:

lasagne# ls -ld /usr/lib/libQtOpenGL*
ls: cannot access /usr/lib/libQtOpenGL*: No such file or directory
lasagne#

Something seems a bit screwed up there.

Of course :-(

I don't know why, but the Conflicts: with libmailutils1 apparently
slipped by.

libsieve2 has to conflict with libmailutils1 until they split their
library into another package.
This is quite odd, since libmailutils1's libsieve.so implements a
completely different API and ABI than what my package provides. Yet my
upstream produces libsieve.so as opposed to libsieve2.so.
Please note that I already call the binary package accordingly.

I will re-add the conflicts and re-upload ASAP.

I tried reproducing your setup, but I can't hit the same bug. This starts to
look really nasty. Just spotted this:

   /build/buildd/grub2-1.96+20080426/partmap/pc.c:141: partition 0: flag 0x80,
 type 0x7, start 0x3f, len 0x1388afc

 type 0x82, start 0x2270f07, len 0x1e267c

for which I can't find any explanation other than memory corruption. Also,
due to a missing fflush() call the output is somewhat scrambled, which makes
it harder to track (I fixed this already in upstream).

 Could you:

   - Apply the attached patch run grub-probe again (this time output
will be a bit more readable)

There was no patch attached, however I did a 'cvs diff -u -D2008-04-30',
and applied that patch.
I found what the problem is, and it also explains why you couldn't
reproduce the problem.

/dev/sda9 is not a valid OpenBSD partition, and in partmap/pc.c:176 the
iteration fails with an error: invalid disk label magic 0x%x.
If I replace that return with a continue, it works.

The problem is that grub2 stops looking for more partitions as soon as
it encountered the invalid partition,
grub 0.97 was working perfectly and I never noticed the partition has
the wrong type!

Also if I change the partition type to 83 (as it should be) an unpatched
grub-probe can find that /boot is on /dev/sda10:
# grub-probe -t device /boot
/dev/sda10

I think grub2 should handle errors more gracefully, eventually mark the
partition as invalid, and keep going.
grub-probe was looking for /dev/sda10, and it shouldn't be affected by
/dev/sda9 being corrupted/invalid.
Think of it this way: if a partition gets corrupted, that shouldn't
prevent from booting, assuming the boot and root partitions are still ok.

Compare what grub-emu says when sda9 has wrong type:

grub ls (hd0,10)
error: unknown device

And this is what it says when sda9 has the correct type:
grub ls (hd0,10)
  Partition hd0,10: Filesystem type ext2, Label debian_BOOT

   - Send it to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Done
   ?

Maybe someone there has an idea, but if it's memory corruption and we can't
reproduce it, tracing the problem remotely isn't going to work very well.

It wasn't memory corruption, however I have run valgrind and it has
shown some leaks, plus call to stat() with NULL parameter.
The attached patch fixes some valgrind warnings. Some leaks still
remain, I attached the new valgrind logs.

P.S.: grub2 seems to work now, I am able to boot with it with the
text-mode menu. The default graphics mode doesn't work I will open a
separate bug about that.

Best regards,

Bug#480652: totem-gstreamer: subtitles are not working anymore (regression from 2.20.x)

2008-05-11 Thread Teodor
Package: totem-gstreamer
Version: 2.22.2-1
Severity: normal

After the upgrade from 2.20.x the subtitles are not working anymore. On
the menu View - Subtitles it says Empty. It is working with other
media players like mplayer and VLC.

On the future lists for 2.22 it says:
# Automatic external subtitle load, or manual (only on the command-line,
# use like: totem file:///file.avi#subtitle:file.srt)
# DVD, VCD and OGG/OGM subtitles and languages support

There is no way I could make it work with file:/// -- not even the movie
is loading.

Thanks

Bug#480655: gnome-keyboard-properties: after setting 'caps lock' key to behave as additional ctrl, caps lock led still used to show caps lock status

2008-05-11 Thread abli
Package: gnome-control-center
Version: 1:2.22.1-1
Severity: minor

Under 'ctrl key position' I set 'make capslock an addition ctrl'. The key itself
works fine, it is functioning as a ctrl. The caps lock led, however, still
operates as if it were a caps lock key. I.e. if I press caps lock key, it is
turned on, if I press it again, it is turned off.

If I use the 'swap ctrl and capslock' then the keys function correctly, the caps
lock led, however will be set according to the physical caps lock key (and not
the physical ctrl key, which with this setting is actually functioning as the
caps lock key.)
