I registered my dns servers about 7 years ago. I want to change the IP address that they point to. The name will not change. RE: [Declude.JunkMail] OT DNS Server change
You'd want to change them at the registry where you registered the domain name. And of course in your own DNS. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Danny K Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 10:43 AM To: declude.junkmail@declude.com Subject: [Declude.JunkMail] OT DNS Server change I registered my dns servers about 7 years ago. It is don through your domain registrar. They usually will have an online site to make the change. Otherwise you will have to do a form and sign and fax for the change. Title: Message Hi Gary, I've come to understand that the changes in 2.0had beensubstantial (and clearly, the ripple effects of the per-usermessage handlingwere not fully understood). As a result, the fix has to be equally substantial(which apparently takes time) - and I'm sure they are also trying hard tocatch any new bugs that all thisback-and-forth might otherwiseintroduce. I haveno idea if and what input/consultation Scott may be provided while 2.0 was being developed (with the "per user" message handling). However, I'm not entirely convinced that the blame lies exclusively with the new developers. Maybe you missed the post that was made a few days ago. There have been a number of posts on the JunkMail list regarding the DELETE issue and a fix is currently being tested both internally and externally. Subject to receiving a green light from our external testers and no new issues arising we anticipate delivering a release (2.0.6) shortly. The changes to 2.0.5 are still currently being tested. We want to ensure clear communication with our customers. Do you have specific questions to which we have not responded? RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Any word on the 2.06 release?
Ok I can't keep quite anymore. I have been testing the new version and they are making shure it is ready before releasing it. As far as my testing goes they have fixed the logging issues, the all_mail_delivery issues, anf the not deleting issues. The origional 2.05 release caused problems for me due to the fact the my caonfig was partially screwed up which 1.82 did not recgnoize or just ignored. I agree they have not been communicating with the list and keeping everyone updated as much as they should\could. But as far as I know they are very close to releasing the new version with the fixes. I have been running it for about 24 hours with out any visible issues. The logging reports the correct responses for individual users mail processing. Be patient they are working hard to make shure the next release is as stable as possible. They are learning and I think doing a great job of it. Adding actions for individual users is a complicated thing and if you remember Scott was hesitant that it was even possible. RE: [Declude.JunkMail] OT: RFC DNS Information
Hi Keith: By definition, a hostname with a private domain can not be validated by anyone outside your LAN (as it will no resolve through public DNS). When your client uses an private domain in the HELO string when contacting SMTP servers on the Internet, then those mail servers can not qualify the HELO string using the public DNS, thus it is not a 'valid' hostname in that context (because a lookup will not succeed). If your client insist on using a private domain in the HELO string, then I suggest they route their outbound traffic through their ISP's/access provider's SMTP server as a smart host. Agreed on Scott leaving. And what's up with that anyway? There was news article I noticed on their site a few weeks ago stating something about Scott leaving because he wanted to spend more time working for the Red Cross? Correct. :) The new article was http://www.declude.com/Articles.asp?ID=150, and it was short and sweet. Basically, I needed a break. I had been putting so much time into Declude over the past close to 5 years that I didn't have time to do some of the things that I wanted to, such as volunteering at the Red Cross. Before I started Declude, I was a very active volunteer on their local Disaster Action Team, responding to hundreds of local disasters (typically house fires, but occasionally other things such as floods, hazardous materials incidents, even a hostage situation once). It was very rewarding, and while I've managed to go to their monthly meetings over these years, I haven't had a chance to go to the local disasters, and I have really missed it. -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list. Re: [Declude.JunkMail] OT DNS Server change
Ahh...Network Solutions is (or at least used to be) one that cached the IP address. So, you will need to go into Account Manager and update the IP addresses for the nameservers. I definitely recommend changing one, waiting 24-48 hours for the changes to be recognized, then changing the other(s). Re[2]: [Declude.JunkMail] Any word on the 2.06 release?
Hi, Good for you Scott, doing what makes you happy Thanks, Andrew Baldwin [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.thumpernet.com 315-282-0020 Wednesday, March 16, 2005, 4:14:52 PM, you wrote: Agreed on Scott leaving.
