Still having problems where Triode's BBC iplayer is still not working
from the 7.7.2 version of LMS running from the readynas pro box. The
7.7.2 runs all ok from my win 7 pc so I am still guessing that there are
problems with some of the specific lms 7.7.2 versions for different
operating systems? I had tried restarting my router and then the
readynas just in case some Internet routing had been corrupted, but that
has not fixed the problem. On the basis that my win7 is working with the
same Internet connection, I can only assume that the readynas 7.7.2
version works slightly differently and has not yet been picked up by the
Logitech guys?
The latest service availability message did say that the Logitech guys
were still aware of some issues, but I wish that they could be more
specific about what is or not working and the likely time to fix. Are
other users with a readynas pro experiencing similar?

Go to MySqueezeBox.com My Media
Select download LMS version per your OS
Install LMS
Enter your MySB login info (pop up screen on install)
Done

To connect your player to LMS, from player select My Music, your local
LMS should be offered.

No. The usual cause of this problem is LMS up running before the
NAS/PC network connection is up. Usual fix is to delay startup of LMS
to give network connection time to be set up and stable.

In the link below there comes a possible explanation of what´s going on
with the SB server these days. I only hope that if they shift to a new
server, we, old SB users, can migrate our devices to the new system. It
would be nice if somebody from Logitech could give an answer to this
issue.

The radio, of course, works on the local server, but i did not buy this

By the way, the international server, at least in Spain , is working

Yea i do fault-tracing on electronics and other stuff it can be horrible
some days.

In our service dept we say that it takes the time it takes + the time
you use to nag me about it :) or about 15 minutes 14 days thereabout
.

it can be annoyingly hard sometimes and the root cause is in most cases
very simple and the obvious follow up question from the non technicians
(boss et al ) are always but it was only that screw x was not put into
hole y how come it took 18 hour to find it to that there is not even a
snide ironical comment you just stare them away

And then the icing of the cake why :) like it would be humanly
possible to know why a certain transistor chose Wednesday to fail

Joking aside ,the techs needs help regarding communicating issues if
someone reassured users with a tweet or other message now and then
people would feel better .(the tech should focus on the problem ,some
one else should work the pr imo )
Even if there is no factual content to provide , it can actually be like
you frustratingly try to find the problem for 24 hours then it is
suddenly apparent what it is ? so even a message like whe have not yet
found the problem is good communication

They use the socials network, eg. a Twitter account, on which one (and

We bought the products from Logitech.
We have the right to expect reliable service.
Unfortunately currently we can only complain Logitech provides a poor
support and communication in respect of their customers.

Note : yes I know I can install LMS on a local PC and get quite a lot of
services ... but this is the reason WHY I bought a SqueezBox : to get
rid off the need of a PC to listen to Internet radio.

Hi, I am new to this forum - AND much of the concept of the Squeezebox
radio.

After working fine for over 6 months my SB suddenly fails to play the
Internet Radio programs I have regularly listened to. I have tried on
Wireless AND Ethernet, the device says connected to Ethernet however I
do not get the option to listen to Inernet Readio - I d get a message
cannot connect to mysqueezebox.com (3473) A couple of questions

Looking at this thread, I suspect this problem is due the problem Dudley
mentions - yes?

Secondly, I have another Internet Radio model which works, in basic
terms, why does the SB Radio need the mysqueezebox.com link?

Regards.

The SB Radio doesn't need mysqueezebox.com if you run a local server. It
only needs it if you choose to use the cloud service.

Unfortunately, my level of knowledge of the SB is VERY basic.

I just want to plug into my router and listen to the available Internet

Are you suggesting I can reconfigure so I can get at these stations

Well, the simplest solution, if you have a computer available, is to
install Logitech Media Server - it replaces MySB.

If you don't want to run LMS, it gets trickier - the Touch has a small
internal server, but the Radio doesn't, as far as I know.

The EU servers might be hosted in the US. If so, they would be on the
east coast, because that is where the transatlantic fibre capacity
lands.

No Americans have appeared shouting about loss of services.

It could be that most of the US is served from non-east coast locations,
or it could be that the servers are OK, but the connectivity to Europe
is affected.

People tend to forget that amidst all the virtualness and cloudiness,
the bits still need to travel in actual, physical cables under the sea.

Squeezebox concept - Cloud service and/or local server services.

All those people shouting at
http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/mysqueezebox.com.html that they are off
to get another internet radio don't seem to realise that 99% of internet
radios connect to some database server somewhere to get the radio stream
links. They've all had server downtimes - admittedly some more than
others, and some have just disappeared!

Very few IRs offer the current flexibility of SBs - if people simply
read the userguide they got with their device, then they might have
cottoned on to the possibility of running a local server (even
temporarily) on their PCs.

Yes, two days downtime is a pain ... but really, there are viable
alternatives.

The Squeezebox-Series isn't listed on the Logitech-Website under
Products anymore. The man on the Hotline sayed, that they have stopped
the developement of these series.
As a buisness-man, I would stop the servers, instead of paying years and
years for them without earning any money from the selling of the Boxes.
Maybe in the future Squeezebox-Users without theyre own Home-Servers can
pay for the yearly Server-Service. Maybe Logitech will source that out.
Theses are my assumptions.

I'll try to get my money back for the none functioning SB-Radio.

Of course from other brands hopefully more serious.

Actually I don't think so within EU it must be fit for purpose the
server backend must function otherwise the radio does not work as
advertised.

But there is certainly no precedence case regarding what is good enough
function that I'm aware off ? If anyone works with such things please
inform us ?

Lets say that the warranty period is 2*365=730 days assume the service
is back on monday 5/730 = 0.7% downtime ?

Adds some more failures ,like a quick xmas breakdown (we had those ) so
what do we get as total over 2 years 1-3% downtime .

But on the other hand I think you can get you money back if claim that
you only had it this week and it was not working as expected .

I agree with your note, it was the reason I also bought it. The beauty
is it's stand alone function. For the rest however painful to say it,
the times of service have changed. The days that you walked into a shop
with a man who knew his business and said, this is the problem and the
man knew which screw you needed and it worked when you got home are long
behind us. Now when you walk into a wholesale store, don't bother asking
what you need, you have to buy 20 screws in a package, pay and when
you're home hope you have the right one.:-) Stores, service and society
have changed. As already mentioned on this site no news from the company

Indeed the time of services have changed nowadays.
This is precisely why nowadays a such lack of communication from
Logitech about this issue is inacceptable.
The service is down since three days, and still counting.
In conclusion, mysqueezebox.com is crap product from a non-professional
company.
Event if the times of service have changed.

You may get it working by using the remote control in your account of
Logitech. Mine is now working in Finland that way although the
connection icon is red. Preset stations does not work and the home menu
has only three or two entries. I had also to connect again to my home
net because it had some connetion problems only with squeezebox. First I
switched squeezebox totally off. You have also to press sometimes one of
the preset buttons if the squeezbox does not receive any more the
station you choosed in remote control.
