[DQSD-Users] 'DQSDTools.KeyboardHook - Can't Install Hook' and DEL/UP/DOWN keys
Hi, I have this error at startup, even if I register manually the 'DQSDTools.dll' as I have read on this mailing list. This error was happening with v2.5.8 b8 (I had then put comments on the Hook section in the 'postStartup()' function in 'search.htm' to avoid the error message), but the DEL key and UP/DOWN arrows were working (never tried the hotkey feature though). I upgraded to v3.0 yesterday (close toolbar - uninstall 2.5.8 b8 - reboot - install 3.0) and still got this error ; so I put comments as I had donne before, but neither the DEL key nor UP/DOWN arrows are working now. Another weird thing is the menu which pops up at the top left of the screen, as my toobar is at the bottom right, near the system tray... What did I do wrong ? I am running Windows XP Home (french), thus Internet Explorer 6, up to date. Thanks a lot, keep up the good work. --- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap. [DQSD-Users] Error on standard search
Several of the searches that require characters at the start (like mm FK81EF or amaz illuminatus) seem to work just fine, but typing in straight text produces the following error: An error ([objct Error]/Object expected) occurred while trying to run the search goo() Any ideas what might cause this? I'm using WinXP with all the patches available. Andy D --- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap. Have you have older copies of DQSD installed on your machine? Do you perhaps have a local preferences file which references this search? I'd suggest a clean installation. I'm using WinXP with all the patches available. Well, I'm using WinXP with some patches that aren't available, and DQSD works OK Will --- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap. An error ([objct Error]/Object expected) occurred while trying to run the search goo() I'm not sure where 'goo()' comes from - perhaps an older version? That's correct. Have you have older copies of DQSD installed on your machine? Do you perhaps have a local preferences file which references this search? I'd suggest a clean installation. I have little doubt that a clean install (uninstall, delete all traces, reinstall) will fix the problem. Glenn --- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap. Re: [DQSD-Users] 'DQSDTools.KeyboardHook - Can't Install Hook' and DEL/UP/DOWN keys
Same situation here as well. I got the 'Can't Install Hook' error dialog immediately after installing the newest version. I did not uninstall 2.5.7 before installing 3.0, I only closed it and rebooted before installing. I'm using Win98 with IE6. Win-S does not bring focus to DSDQ. I have not altered search.htm in anyway. - Original Message - From: Fu Xuen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, July 04, 2002 4:48 AM Subject: [DQSD-Users] 'DQSDTools.KeyboardHook - Can't Install Hook' and DEL/UP/DOWN keys Hi, I have this error at startup, even if I register manually the 'DQSDTools.dll' as I have read on this mailing list. Could you please try replacing the file DQSDTools.dll with the one from here: http://www.indcomp.co.uk/dqsd/DQSDTools.zip You will need to close DQSD and logout/in (or possibly reboot) before you can overwrite the existing dll. I don't expect that this will work better, but it should offer better diagnostics... Thanks, Will --- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap.
