[Elecraft] K3 SN 3757 resistance checks fail ?

2009-12-26 Thread Ramiro Aceves
Hi K3 friends.

I am Ramiro, EA1ABZ. I have almost finished K3 assembly and I have
reached resistance checks in page 45 of the assembly manual. The
measured resistance in U 12 is 445 omhs, and the manual states that
this resistance should be greater than 500 ohms (although in some K3
it may be only slightly greater than 500 ohms). Mi measurement is
below 500 ohms. Do you think that I should search for a fault.?

U13 resistance is 420 ohms, greater than 150 ohms, as manual says.

Thank you very much.

[Elecraft] Propagation

2009-12-26 Thread David Y.
Where is everybody? 40 meters was mostly a wasteland yesterday, and again
this morning. I sort of expected to hear a few new K3's coming online, but
didn't even hear any old ones! SFI is only 76, so that might explain it,
but I've heard more with that indices being lower.

I'm developing a new theory--that the sunspot cycle and the economy are in
sync!

Anyway, Happy New Year!

Re: [Elecraft] [K3] K3 needs survey -- firmware and application software

2009-12-26 Thread Mike K2MK

Hi Wayne:

1. Some of us use the rear speaker jack for headphones to get a bit more
volume than is provided by the headphone jacks. If you want to use the
internal speaker you have to go behind the radio to unplug the headphones.
The SPKR+PHONES choice is not applicable in this situation. Lyle has
provided a command line code to increase headphone volume (!66;) but it is
not saved through power cycles. It would be nice to have a configuration
menu adjustment for the headphones that accomplishes the same thing but is
remembered.

2. I would like to see the keyer speed adjustment changed so that it takes 2
encoder pulses for each WPM increase or decrease. When you are keying with
your right hand and want to change your speed by 1 WPM it takes a bit of
mental skill to simultaneously use your left hand to turn the knob just a
tiny bit. I find myself jumping 2 or 3 WPM. Slower knob action might help.

73,
Mike K2MK

Hi all,

As you probably know, we keep a list of firmware features and
improvements to be added as time permits. Many of the most-requested
changes were made over the past several months, keeping pace with the
demands of the fall/winter contest season. (A few that come to mind:
switch sequence automation via macros, improved DVR interaction with
PTT, main/sub audio mixing, improved NR, lockable transmit controls,
and many enhanced remote-control commands.)

As we head into 2010, we'd like to refresh the master firmware list
based on your input. Items already on the list have priority, of
course, but this is a great opportunity to let us know what else is
missing or could be improved. Our goal is to make the K3 as easy to
use as possible, while providing the advanced features you need for
specific operating situations.

We're also planning a renewed effort to assist application software
developers. If your ideas for improvements involve changes to both K3
firmware and a favorite application, we'll pass it along to the
developers and work with them closely.

We're making great progress on the P3 Panadapter and other new
products. There will be some surprises in 2010 :)

73,
Wayne

I have made resistance checks at U12 with another multimeter (cheaper
one, the first one was a FLUKE 175 ) and I get more than 2 kohms,
forward and reverse polarity.

I have made some investigation: The fluke uses 7 V to make resistance
measuremens, and the cheaper one uses 0.6 V, so that could explain the
diference. What do you think?, Do you think that I sould worry about
the resistance checks or continue doing the Initial Power On Check?

Thanks

As with most other requests, I would suggest that IF this request is
considered, that it be made an OPTION on the config menu. As best as
I can tell, right now the rate of change is about 8 wpm per 90 degrees
of rotation; that's plenty slow for me, but I won't stand in the way
of progress for others...as long as it is an user selectable OPTION
instead of changed to.

In fact, I'd like to go the other way. Have a user selectable
option to select the STEP for CW speed: 1, 2 OR 3 wpm per impulse.
Maybe including a 0.5 wpm step would solve both of our requests. :-)

[Elecraft] K144XV required filters

2009-12-26 Thread Jim Spears
One thing that I do not see is the minimum requirement for the FM filter if
one wishes to use the K144XV to transmit FM. I assume that I need the FM
filter installed on the main board for both transmit and receive. If I want
to use the XV to receive FM on the sub then I need a second FM filter
installed there. And if I am not interested in FM then I do not need the FM
filter in either place as the installed filters will work just fine for SSB,
CW, etc.

[Elecraft] More on K3 wiki site

2009-12-26 Thread Rich - K1HTV
Having been in broadcasting for 48 years, 20 of them in commercial radio, I
learned one thing well.ADVERTISING WORKS. After posting a suggestion
that a K3 wiki site be created, WB6RSE wrote me about one that already
exists, so I'm going to do a bit of 'advertising' about it to my K3 user
friends who frequent this reflector.

The wiki, which includes many of the topics that have been asked about, can
be found at the URL:

[Elecraft] P3 question

2009-12-26 Thread Bob Tellefsen
I know we are still waiting for more details, but there's a chance I
might have missed some post with this info.

I understand we will be able to click on a signal to tune the K3
to that frequency. Will this require a separate mouse in addition
to the one used with our logging programs?

It would be nice to have a means where the cursor could move
from the logging screen to the P3 display, as if it was a computer
with two monitors and the cursor moving between them.

Anyone know if this is contemplated?

Re: [Elecraft] K3 needs survey -- firmware and application software

2009-12-26 Thread Joe Planisky
Fix strange LO/HI CUT interactions. (Or tell me that the way it works
is intentional or some limitation of the DSP algorithms used.)

Here are some examples of unexpected behavior with FW 3.68 in DATA-A
mode. Numbers in parentheses are the values I get on my K3.

Not an interaction, but unexpected: In LSB, DATA, DATA-R, CW, and CW-R
modes, the LO/HI steps are on x.x5 kHz boundaries (e.g. 0.15, 0.25,
0.35, etc.). In USB mode, they're on x.1x kHz boundaries (e.g. 0.10,
0.20. 0.30, etc.).

Set HI=3.05 and LO=0.55.
- Now set HI as high as it will go. Note the value (4.20)
- Now set HI back to 3.05, and set LO=2.05.
- Again set HI as high as it will go. Note the value (3.15)
So with LO=0.55, HImax=4.20, but with LO=2.05, HImax=3.15

Set HI=3.05 and LO=0.55
- Now set HI as high as it will go. (4.20)
- Now set LO as high as it will go. Note the value (1.05)
- Now set HI=3.15
- Now set LO as high as it will go. Note the value (2.05)
So with HI=4.20, LOmax=1.05, but with HI=3.15, LOmax=2.05

Set HI=3.05 and LO=0.00.
- Now set HI as low as it will go. Note the value (0.75)
- Set HI back to 3.05, and set LO=0.25.
- Again set HI as low as it will go. Note the value (0.55)
So with LO=0.00, HImin=0.75, but with LO=0.25, HImin=0.55
- Bonus: now set LO as low as it will go (0.25)
So with HI=0.75+, LOmin=0.00, but with HI=0.55, LOmin=0.25

These anomalies show up in USB and LSB modes as well, but you're not
likely to run into them in normal voice situations. Likewise there
are similar interactions in CW mode, but I never use LO/HI CUT in CW
mode.

There has been a lot of discussion about this, I am not sure if there
has been any action or not, the first info that I remember is that
the small knob on the bottom right of the P3 controls the cursor
position and thats the point and click. Early on there was no
provision for external mouse control, but that may changed by
release time.
Seems that was high on the list of wants.
Some one else had asked about pricing and as I recall it was in the

[Elecraft] k3 carry on case

2009-12-26 Thread Jorge Diez - CX6VM
Hello,

I search in the last elamils in the reflector about pelican cases.

Seems model 1510 is one with wheels to carry on in a plane.

So this is for someone that have a Pelican 1510.

From www.aa.com

How Much Can I Carry On?

You can carry on one bag plus one personal item per passenger as long as:

·

They weigh no more than 40 lbs/18 kgs

·

The bag is no more than 45 inches and the personal item is no more than 36
inches when you add the length + width + height so that it fits in an
overhead bin or under the seat

So seems the 1510 with 22.00” x 13.81” x 9.00” is up in the limit.

But the 1510 have interior dimensions 19.75” x 11.00” x 7.60”.

The K 3 have 10” x 10” x 4” right?

So, is this 1” free (0.50” in each side) enough to protect the radio? I see
a hang (I don´t exactly the word) in the side of the K3 to take it. Is this
contemplate in the 10” dimension? Or this hand will cover the 11.00” of the
1510 pelican interior and I will not have foam in the sides?

I don´t know if I am clear about my doubt about the 1510 case.

Maybe another brand/model, carry one with wheels?

Thanks!

73,

Jorge

As I recall some of the discussions at the Santa Barbara Hamfest, a mouse
interface would greatly complicate the design of the P3. The standard
computer-to-mouse interface requires a software driver which is not trivial
to design and maintain (drivers are written in machine code for a specific
processor architecture.)

IMO though, It should be possible to design a mouse-like remote to the P3

There has been a lot of discussion about this, I am not sure if there
has been any action or not, the first info that I remember is that
the small knob on the bottom right of the P3 controls the cursor
position and thats the point and click. Early on there was no
provision for external mouse control, but that may changed by
 release time.
Seems that was high on the list of wants.
Some one else had asked about pricing and as I recall it was in the

Re: [Elecraft] P3 question

2009-12-26 Thread Dick Dievendorff
Older mice (the ones with mouse balls) used two rotary encoders to
sense and count movement in two directions.

The P3 uses a single rotary encoder and a knob to position a vertical
line on a horizontal scale.

The same encoder is used for P3 menu selections.

A mouse is but one kind of pointing device. Currently the most
common of course.

[Elecraft] K3: Carry-on Pelican 1510

2009-12-26 Thread Ralph Parker
Hi Jorge:
I bought a Pelican 1510 to carry my K3 to VP5.

So seems the 1510 with 22.00? x 13.81? x 9.00? is up in the limit.

It is designed to be exactly maximum size and still legal to carry on to
the plane and fit in the overhead bin.
The case is quite heavy, heavier than the K3.

But the 1510 have interior dimensions 19.75? x 11.00? x 7.60?.

The K3 will only fit in with the rear panel toward the wheels, front panel
to the pull-out handle, and you must take the handle off to get it inside.
There is only room for very thin foam between the sides of the K3 and the
case.
There is room at the front/back of the radio for power supply, cables,
etc., and good foam to support the radio when you wheel it.

The package is quite heavy, so if you have a long walk in the airport, you
will want to use the wheels. And many airports have a bumpy floor!
When you get to the gate, you can carry it so it doesn't LOOK too heavy :-)
I have never had anyone weigh my luggage (except on very small planes).

I will not give the case to the airline as checked luggage, because there
is not enough foam to protect the radio properly (and the airlines ALWAYS
throw your luggage on the ground).

If I am going to carry the radio onto the plane again, I would get a case
that's not so heavy - it only has to be protected from the other passengers
cases, and no bouncing around in flight.

I used a shiny alumin[i]um flight case meant for transporting camera and
electronics gear, from a
local shop. It is 18x13x6 externally. The pluck-out high density foam inside
is a fairly tight
squeeze for the K3, so it is snug and well supported.

Small light enough for hand baggage, and strong enough to risk being put in
the hold if the
airline people at the gate ever insist it can't go on board.

Try your local electronics or camera shops. Much cheaper than a Pelican too.

I was surprised to have no problems with it at the airport security scanners
travelling from ZL to G
to 9L and back, though I did have my amateur license in my carry-on backpack
just in case they were
curious.

Also suits the K2 (instead of, not as well as the K3!), leaving space for Palm
paddle, antenna wire,
switchmode PSU etc. See my K2 suitcase set at:

[Elecraft] K3: Line Out level

2009-12-26 Thread James Sarte
Greetings to the group!

Quick question: I normally keep the line out set to 5 or 10; I haven't seen
the need until now to increase it. I recently discovered a recording
utility built in to HRD, and leaving the line out level at 5 or 10 usually
results in a low-volume recording. I've fiddled around with the setting and
have found that a line output level of 50 is pretty good. However, I just
want to make sure that doing so is safe for the K3. I've monitored the
audio from the PC, and I haven't noticed any sort of overdrive condition.
On the other hand, the manual states that setting the line out to anything
above 10 may cause saturation of the KIO3's isolation transformers.

Thoughts?

As long as the level of distortion is OK to your ears, I would judge

have it, I rarely have time to work on the beast except during holidays etc.
More time for amateur radio would sure be nice, but I'm not near retirement
and for some reason I keep getting pesky bills in the mail. Anyway here is
my situation:

1) I am at the Alignment and Test, Part II portion and trying to get through
the 4 MHz Oscillator Calibration section.
2) When I take a freq. measurement at TP3 for the PLL with the frequency
probe, I get a reading of ~12650, obviously way too high.
3) I inspected parts, soldering etc and cannot find a fault.
4) Decided to do some signal tracing and performed a measurement of the
reference oscillator signal on pin 1 of U4. My reading is .51, instead of
the expected 0.8-1.8. Vrms.

So my question is this:

It seems that the 12650 measurement is so high that it may be an indicator
that the X1 crystal in the PLL oscillator is defective. However, with the
low reading on pin 1 of U4 I'm not so sure about the crystal. Could the
increased frequency reading at TP3, cause the voltage drain on the U4 or am
I barking up the wrong tree?

I've looked through the email archives and haven't found anything quite
similar to my issue. I hate to start pulling stuff apart if the crystal is
the issue and would like to hear what others think of the problem.

Thanks, 73 and Happy Holidays!

I believe that content had to be approved by sysops as a response to some of

[Elecraft] More on K3 wiki site - Happy New year!!!

2009-12-26 Thread Don Rasmussen
http://www.zerobeat.net/mediawiki/index.php/K3_Wiki_at_ZeroBeat.NET

Thanks to all for remembering the K3 Wiki website!

It is available for contributions and we encourage that greatly.

It is true that we require submitted material to have a final approval before a
link pointing to newly added pages is entered into an existing page - however -
add all the pages you want, instantly, nobody is here to stop you!

I have been surprised at the high readership (hit counts), but offers to
contribute are next to nil. That's why some of the information is up to two
years old. I have to thank Barry N1EU for working so hard in providing the
latest most relevant information. I have to apologize for the lack of updates
to the K2 wiki, which was created to allow an entry point for K2 users. We have
just had nobody to step up on that.

Thom LaCosta is footing the bill in the bandwidth for both of these services
and believe me this costs $$$ real money. All I have in it is my time. ;-) The
bottom line here is that somebody has to write a check each month for our free
service on the Zerobeat Web Servers.

So here is a call to action - add your page, tell me what it is named or ask me
how to add it. I'll give it a VERY loose review just to make sure that there is
none of this SPAM content that has been showing up lately, and then will open
the page to the readership by adding the link to an existing page. Alternately
you can just post a link to the page here on the reflector. Everyone here will
see it.

Have a great new year and thanks for reading.

As I recall some of the discussions at the Santa Barbara Hamfest, a
 mouse
interface would greatly complicate the design of the P3. The standard
computer-to-mouse interface requires a software driver which is not
 trivial
to design and maintain (drivers are written in machine code for a
 specific
 processor architecture.)

IMO though, It should be possible to design a mouse-like remote to
 the P3
that emulates the knob and buttons.

Re: [Elecraft] PLL Reference Oscillator Question

2009-12-26 Thread Don Wilhelm
Byron,

Don't be too concerned about the 4 MHz oscillator calibration at this
point in your assembly process. Once you have completed your K2, you
can refine the calibration - see the K2 Dial Calibration article on my
website www.w3fpr.com for the rest of the story.

Yes, 12650 is higher than the high end of the range should be, but
please tell me what the low range is - while in CAL FCTR, tap BAND+ and
tell me what the frequency is, then tap BAND- and again tell me what the
displayed frequency is. Perhaps I can craft an answer to the possible
trouble spots from that information.

[Elecraft] Request for new firmware changes.

2009-12-26 Thread van fair
I have been reading all the things that owners want and many of them I already
have by using TRX manager. I use LP Bridge with it but you can get the same
results by using the same type of circuits built into the TRX manager.

Laurent the owner of TRX Manager is a K3 owner and user and has made it
possible to control 95% of all functions with the click of a mouse. I have 8
macro buttons which make it possible to do all kind of splits. a tune up button
that turns on a carrier at 5 watts and when I push it again it takes me back to
my regular settings and at 40 watts that I use for driving my linear. You
dont even have to use the K3 utility to program the Macro. Its all done very
easily inside TRX manager. All eight macro buttons can be used in dual mode so
that one push performs a function and the second push of the same button can
take you back to a different setting. This is not available from the K3
utility. All the menu and config items can be brought up from a list and
changed from inside the TRX manager program.

Many many other advantages to using this program with the K3 such as memory
control etc. Its free for 30 days and it has so many things to offer the K3
user. Make sure you bring up both of the control panels for the K3. The levels
panel does not come up unless you are connected to a K3.

I have no financial connection with TRX manager. I have just use it for years.

[Elecraft] K2 front panel LCD soldering

2009-12-26 Thread Conway Yee
On page 27, right column of the current K2 construction manual, the
revised instructions tell me to place the spacers beside the LCD leads and
remove the spacers after soldering. The original instructions tell me to
place the LCD leads THROUGH the holes in the spacer. Presumably these
spacers are the LCD spacers broken from the RF probe/switch spacer at the
beginning of the construction.

Why did they change the instructions? What is the advantage?

Not knowing the benefits of the new instructions, it would appear that the
old instructions make more sense. The new method leaves the LCD supported
by only the leads. The spacers add support.

tnx.

[Elecraft] [K3] Setting up out-of-band KAT3 Antenna Tuner memories for Shortwave, AM, and non-Ham bands

2009-12-26 Thread Mark M W2OR

My KAT3 works fine on the ham bands. And tuning the KAT3's L-network manually
should be no problem using the general L/C SET instructions contained
(Manual page-55) in the CONFIG menu, for selecting among the many L/C
variables. No problem. As readers are aware, the KAT3's auto tune function
is non functional (without a transmit signal) on non-ham bands, so tuning
the KAT3 must be done manually when receiving outside the ham bands. It'd
be nice to use the KAT3 memory feature on the shortwave, AM and other
non-ham bands, and hopefully there's an easy way to find the L/C settings
for these bands and then save them to memory, so that manual L/C tuning
would not be necessary when jumping between shortwave or AM broadcast bands.
Before venturing down this road, it'd be great to know how others have set
up the out-of-band KAT3 memories. Thanks.

[Elecraft] K3 Digital Mode Settings

2009-12-26 Thread David Herring
Aloha from Hawaii!

As this is my first post to this reflector, I suppose I should introduce
myself...I'm Dave, K6DCH. QTH Kauai, Hawaii, and I am the satisfied
owner/operator of K3 Serial # 3019. :-)

I've been reading the various posts recently about how to set up for digital
modes using the Data mode on the K3. I have also been reading the other posts
about how to set the ACG, the RF gain, etc. A question comes to mind about
this:

Does the advice on dialing back the RF gain, as tendered on this reflector,
apply to when one is running digital? For example, I've recently started
playing with Olivia since it is noted for weak signal robustness. Would I run
the rig with the RF gain wide open, or would I still dial it back to the point
where the S meter just stops flickering? My first instinct is to run with the
RF gain more open than that since Olivia communications succeed at signal
levels below the noise floor, but I wanted to do something of a sanity check
amongst other K3 users to see if I'm thinking about this right or not.

I have benefited greatly by reading this reflector and appreciate everyone's
contributions.

All the best,

Re: [Elecraft] K3 Digital Mode Settings

2009-12-26 Thread Don Wilhelm
Dave,

It all depends. The recommendations for adjusting the RF Gain control
to just barely hear band noise is aimed at those who are listening to
the K3 audio with headphones (or a speaker). Since signals that are
below the band noise level cannot usually be copied, there is no sense
in listening to the band noise, so backing off the RF gain is a prudent
thing to do given these assumptions. That applies to signals that are
normally heard with the ear/brain combination.

Digital modes can sometimes decode signals that are below the band noise
level (and there is no need to listen to the trash on the band with
one's ears). If one is receiving a digital signal that has this
capability, one would want to set the RF Gain control to a point where
some band noise is evident - how much you might ask, and the answer is -
how many dB below the ambient noise will result in good copy of the
digital signal?. That answer will vary from digital mode to digital mode.

Don W3FPR

Re: [Elecraft] PLL Reference Oscillator Question

2009-12-26 Thread Don Wilhelm
Byron,

Yes, that prior response may be helpful, but all may not apply to your
case - each one is different.
To be specific for your problem, first monitor the voltage from RF Board
U5 pin 7 while in CAL FCTR mode. When tapping BAND+, the voltage should
go to about 4 volts and tapping BAND- should drop the voltage to near
zero volts.
If that is OK, then move on to U6 pin 1 - tapping BAND+ should produce
about 8 volts and BAND- should produce nearly zero volts.

Check those conditions first. If those are all OK, then you can move on
to the varactor tests, but if there is a problem with the voltages
above, get back with me for additional tests and actions.

can refine the calibration - see the K2 Dial Calibration article on my
website www.w3fpr.com for the rest of the story.

Hello everyone. I purchased my K2 kit about 4 years ago and as life
 would
have it, I rarely have time to work on the beast except during holidays
 etc.
More time for amateur radio would sure be nice, but I'm not near
 retirement
and for some reason I keep getting pesky bills in the mail. Anyway here
 is
 my situation:

 1) I am at the Alignment and Test, Part II portion and trying to get
 through
the 4 MHz Oscillator Calibration section.
My reading is .51, instead
 of
 the expected 0.8-1.8. Vrms.

 So my question is this:

It seems that the 12650 measurement is so high that it may be an
 indicator
that the X1 crystal in the PLL oscillator is defective. However, with the
low reading on pin 1 of U4 I'm not so sure about the crystal. Could the
increased frequency reading at TP3, cause the voltage drain on the U4 or
 am
I barking up the wrong tree?

I've looked through the email archives and haven't found anything quite
similar to my issue. I hate to start pulling stuff apart if the crystal
 is
the issue and would like to hear what others think of the problem.

[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Announcement

2009-12-26 Thread Kevin Rock
Good evening,
I was sitting here reading a few Sherlock Holmes stories I had somehow
missed over the years while listening to the radio. Soon I would be back at
the bench soldering and totally forget about sending this out. So I shall
remedy this omission :) Yesterday the sun was shining nicely and the snow was
a few inches deep. Even though the temperature was near freezing the white
covering remained in the shady areas. So I had my very own White Christmas.
However, while hiking around following all the tracks (reading the news) I
found a strange crystalline growth much like helictites. Since the snowfall
about four days ago the nights have been in the 20s while the days have been
within a few degrees of freezing; either above or below. But each morning
there has been a dense fog. This must have been what grew my interesting
formations. When I scraped them off the underlying stratum was simple corn
snow. The fog must have been adding layers to the facets of the corn snow.

The propagation this week was rather good. All the solar activity stirred
up the ions above our heads and allowed contacts on 15 meters. I did not try
10 meters but there has been chatter about some openings to those who call CQ.
Remember: a band is always dead if everyone simply listens. Today, upon
checking SpaceWeather, I find the sun is quiet again. No spot on front or back
sides but the game is afoot (too much Sherlock here :) and the sun may just
keep sporting a few freckles now and then. Luckily the sun was not eaten by
dragons at its low point and yesterday folks saw it begin its inexorable
movement northward. (I really should not read 19th century literature! But
the Gutenberg Project includes only those items which are in the public
domain.) Maybe the new year will bring an ever more active sun. That would be
very nice.

Re: [Elecraft] K2 front panel LCD soldering

2009-12-26 Thread Don Wilhelm
Conrad,

The support is not the only issue (although it may make the LCD
backlight mounting more sturdy).
The problem was that for a period of time, the leads on the backlight
assembly from the vendor were too short, and those backlight assemblies
with short leads must use the instructions on the errata page this
situation has since been corrected with the vendor. If your backlight
assembly has leads of a sufficient length to use the spacers and still
allow soldering on the solder side of the board, then yes, you can
ignore the errata and use the original instructions. In other words,
look at the lead length you have with your K2 kit and do what is
right. The one thing that is important is to get the backlight
assembly LEDs adequately soldered to the pads on the Front Panel board,
and spaced up so the backlight assembly fits nicely below the LCD
display module.

The spacers add support.

 tnx.

How does TRX manager implement the bandscope?

I have been reading all the things that owners want and many of them

Laurent the owner of TRX Manager is a K3 owner and user and has made
it possible to control 95% of all functions with the click of a
mouse. I have 8 macro buttons which make it possible to do all kind
of splits. a tune up button that turns on a carrier at 5 watts and
when I push it again it takes me back to my regular settings and at
40 watts that I use for driving my linear. You dont even have to
use the K3 utility to program the Macro. Its all done very easily
inside TRX manager. All eight macro buttons can be used in dual mode
so that one push performs a function and the second push of the same
button can take you back to a different setting. This is not
available from the K3 utility. All the menu and config items can be
brought up from a list and changed from inside the TRX manager program.

Many many other advantages to using this program with the K3 such as
memory control etc. Its free for 30 days and it has so many things
to offer the K3 user. Make sure you bring up both of the control
panels for the K3. The levels panel does not come up unless you are
connected to a K3.

I have no financial connection with TRX manager. I have just use it
for years. Van W4GIW
