According to Microchip document AN1290 "Microchip LAN9252 EEPROM Configuration
and Programming" It seems Slave Stack Code Tool is needed but this is only
available for members. I asked for membership but they required a company
website to get membership and I could fix this but it takes time.

If I know the protocol for programming EEPROM via Ethernet maybe I could do it
myself. Other option is to program EEPROM from micro controller via I2C or
simply configure micro controller as a slave so LAN9252 could read
configuration from micro controller.

Yes I have no idea either what scan do or what it is supposed to do. Zero
information is printed so it is impossible to do anything more than pressing
the stupid button, neither is possible to write something manually.

I used Twincat3 but have no idea what it does to scan the network and then
connected to switch Wireshark do no spot any Ethercat packets.

That is really odd.  It seems to me that it would be really helpful to
be able to see TwinCat initialize the secondary via Ethernet if you can
grab the packets via Wireshark.

Yes I tried both ports and soldered the EEPROM. Software in micro controller is
not an issue because SPI port is not turned on until configured by the EEPROM.
I will give up Twincat since I should not use it and continue with Ethercat
master for linuxcnc which I should use.

It feels a little bit odd LAN9252 need to be configured via network before it
could communicate with micro controller via SPI.

Did you install TwinCat 2 or TwinCat 3.   I have TwinCat 3 loaded on a

I will try to connect micro controller to EEPROM socket, it could be done in

I use twincat 3 but there are two switches in between on the local network. I

On page 24 in the datasheet for LAN9252 are the SPI pins. Data is sent out but
I get no answer on MISO pin. On page 296 is the PDI control register at adress
0x0140 and this is read from EEPROM. It make me a little bit confused because
how do I program value then SPI is not enabled and EEPROM is connected to
LAN9252 circuit?

looks like it according to page 24

These pins are the Distributed Clock Sync (OUT) or
Latch (IN) signals. The direction is bitwise configurable.
Note: These signals are not driven (high impedance) until the EEPROM is
loaded.

Software is loaded into to chip and try to communicate via SPI but get no
answer. I try to run without EEPROM so it might be I have to add this to get
correct configuration, datasheet for LAN9252 make me a little bit confused
about if EEPROM is needed.
