[E-devel] phab login/logout

2013-11-19 Thread rob
I may be missing the obvious but with chromium Version 31.0.1650.57
Debian jessie/sid (235101) and firefox 28.0a1 (2013-11-18) there doesn't
seem to a login button on the main phab page.

To login I go to create task enter a few details, click create which
then takes me to a login screen. Once I've logged in the bug details
have disappeared requiring re-entry.

The logout button is present occasionally.

Thanks

 Hello,

This backtrace is not really useful at all. It doesn't have enough
information (all the things that may be usefull are optimized out).
Either that or start Enlightenment with -valgrind to get more useful
 information.

 Thanks for your help,
Cedric

I use ./autogen.sh, make, make install to build E after git pull
--rebase, i.e. I haven't modified any files to optimise the build.

Debian version gcc-4.8

This crash happened while the PC was idle. All the cats were in the
garden at the time so it's not a case of feline tampering:) I'll run
valgrind.

The cd title shows up in the side bar but right-clicking select mount

 Can't mount device /dev/sr0 /media cdrom
 org.enlightenment,fm2.MountTimeout
Unable to mount the volume with specified time-out

It's not a permission issue as I can mount CD in terminology ok.

With cd mounted via term., return to efm and click cd and the contents
of the cd do not show. A little bit later the mount error message returns.

  Of those options
Mount volumes on insert - doesn't mount
Open filemanager on mount - doesn't start efm

Tried gdb but nothing shows up.

Turns out it is one of these invisible permission issues. Something to
do with udisks. Nuked udisks and I can now access the cd drive contents
via efm. The error message maybe needs changing.

2:) Ibar - not sure if this is a feature or not.

I have 2 shelves each containing only an Ibar
 Ibox is not loaded

Start app from ibar1 and an icon appears at end of ibar2. Same thing the
other way round. Start an app from the menu which is not included in
either ibar and the app icon appears at the end of both ibars.

There is no valuable information in this callgrind. What driver do you
use ? What are you composite settings ?

Turns out the problem is the Debian-packaged nvidia proprietry drivers,
304.88,304.108 and 325.15. Drivers downloaded directly from the Nvidia
website don't show this problem, versions 319.49 and 325.08

Traced to an old libecore.so which was installed as a dependency of
libdbus-c++* debian package. No idea what package pulled in libdbus-c++*.

Yep. The PROTO dir is deprecated and will be removed when I conclude the

As Vincent has said, the name is Eo.

Minor point: You can't search for Eo on the Enlightenment website as the

Maybe someone with more insight on e's widgets can have a look at it?
Just do as Michael described, attach gdb break and see in which function its
 loops infinitely.

Just a thought:
I have a ATi HD5670 and have a separate partition where I trial
different distros. Over last 6 weeks or so I've installed 5, maybe 6,
distros and, after installation and reboot, all bar 1 experienced a
blank screen when trying to start X. This is with different window
managers.

It seems to be something related to the way X runs without an
/etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Creating the xorg.conf file manually fixed the
problem.

it seems it fails at loading edje/images/154 155 and 156 only. I
 don't know
what those 3 images are (is there a way to know ?).

eet is correctly installed, the loader exists (i tested it with a test
program). I seems that edje_cc fails at using the eet loader and try
 the
generic evas_image_loader.edj instead (which of course does not exist).

So does someone see where I can start digging in the edje_cc code ?

Sounds like an issue in evas or below. edje_cc doesn't start the
generic loader, evas try it when it fail to open with all the other
possibility. For an unknow reason eet loader doesn't work. Maybe add
some printf in eet loader, then inside eet itself. How did you
 generate your edj ?

 edje_cc, it's the elementary theme.

I copied the default.edj theme from linux to Windows, and I have the
same problem, so there are good chances that there is no problem with
 the creation of the theme.

I'll check the eet loader, then eet itself

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have a few more fixes and changes here on my end but things are
working pretty good, well enough for me to get my Freevo/Kaa work done
in the meantime. I am planning on sending an updated patch sooner or later.

[E-devel] [PATCH] evas directfb engine API fixes

2007-01-15 Thread Rob Shortt

Hello,

I really need evas' directfb engine working so I took it upon myself to
do some work on it. :) I am not the best C guy around but I am familiar
with the workings of directfb.

My first patch just brings the directfb engine in line with some recent
engine API changes. It builds now and I am able to run the directfb
tests. There are still some problems and some things left unimplimented
but I will work on those things next.

I will followup soon with some questions about the engines and how I
should attack these functions.

Thanks,
-Rob

Are there any api docs for this? I am willing to put work into
maintaining the directfb engine as Freevo will be using evas
(through kaa.evas) for its next generation release.

That would be excellent. The many evas engines really need
help. fb, dfb, qtopia, xrender, xcb, cairo, opengl, ... need people
who know about these in order to efficiently implement various
aspects with these engines, to keep up with developments, to fix/
 improve whatever, etc.

   BTW: What is kaa.evas?

Kaa.evas is python bindings for evas and will be used in Freevo 2
through kaa.canvas (soon to be kaa.candy).

Any help on pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.
 Docs, etc...
...

There are no 'docs' for evas internals, as far as I know,
but it's really fairly straightforward to eg. look at the code for
the dfb engine for the relevant aspects (also, raster and others
might be able to lend some insights on #edevelop).

I will be digging into this soon, thanks.

Hello,

I am running DirectFB CVS (aka 0.9.23) and have just checked out and
installed evas. There was a small problem with a DirectFB API change
that I fixed with this patch.

Thanks,

wouldnt it be saner to just keep evas compatible with the latest released
version ? otherwise, we'll end up with ugly #ifdef-ed code all over the
place ... especially with DirectFB which tends to change a little with every
 release

To a certain point I'd agree with you, if we had #ifdefs for multiple
versions back and various API changes. But there's no checking here for
versions older than the last release and I don't think it's unreasonable
for one project's CVS to support another's. Many developers working on
different projects need to build CVS versions all over the place.

Also, once DirectFB 0.9.23 is released, if there is a desire to get rid
of these #ifdefs, I could send a patch to remove them and tweak the
version check in configure.

Thanks,
-Rob
