I rebuilt e16.8pre2 without --enable-ecore-x option. As a result, "Eterm -T "Japanese characters" now works normally, and no characters are displayed on a titlebar of the dialog to configure e16. Garbage might have been displayed on it when I saw it. Although "emacs -title Japanese characters" still doesn't work, I guess it is because of emacs itself. In any case, "my" problem has been resolved. Thanks a lot, Kim. [e-users] characters on titlebar get garbled in e16.8pre2
Hello I upgraded my e16 to e16.8pre2. The installation went fine and works well execpt for one thing. The Japanese characters shown on a "titlebar" get garbled, while the caracters in a dialog and menus are normal. When I run configure, I used --enable-hints-gnome and --enable-ecore-x options. Does it have something to do with the garbled characters? I saw this problems on "aqua" and "shiny metal". Any help is appreciated.
