I’m not following you. Lower emission standards are MORE costly, right?

Even if not, I can see how you want to call it a bailout, but I guess that’s 
the case with any regulatory scheme. But I never hear it called a bailout.

As far as Tesla, it’s hard to say the impact. Up until a certain point, the 
more folks out there with the new technology, everybody benefits. At some point 
(have we reached it yet?), these things make a difference in the opposite 
direction.

But this is what we want, isn’t it? We’ve put in lots of incentives for 
electric drive, and gee, companies are taking advantage of them!

Weakening of other standards is another story.

[EVDL] (LiMn2O4)

I have a battery pack with 7 pouches 25.6vdc 11ah.  It would take 21 of these 
to replace.  Is it worth it at 10 dollars each?

  Is this chemistry obsolete?  Seems it was in use 10 or more years ago. These 
cells may be a decade old or new. I can't tell. I am using the pack(2) on my 
Zuumer.  The only place I know where that have taken off is in San Diego.  The 
police and EMT use them. I am reluctant to use 24 volts as I suspect I may not 
get the full use of the battery before the controller cuts off due to low 
voltage.  I don't have a manual so I'm not sure. I did get the Zuumer working 
on 4 lead acid 12 volt batteries but not much success. Maybe I could use 
another chemistry but I'd like it to fit in the two containers that came with 
the scooter due to space considerations.   Lawrence Rhodes

We live in San Francisco.  Having a vehicle for each driver/task is not 
practical mostly because of miniscule parking space/expensive insurance & cost. 
 We all need to drive a hundred miles from time to time...or more so 2 Leafs 
and a 1995 Honda Civic(Cars don't rust here) is what we have. If a pickup or 
van was electric we would loose a Leaf or the Civic and get that depending on 
budget. I can't get my son to drive the Leaf for anything but Lyft.  He says 
the girls think it's cool he can drive a sticksheeshLawrence Rhodes

Well, Duh!

My son is the same way. He thinks our Leaf and Prius are lame-o 
geek-mobiles, and so always drives our pickup. He too has TB (Teenage 
Brain disorder).


You have to understand the teenage brain. You should have gotten some 
gas-hog SUV or big pickup truck; then your son would hate them and 
insist on driving something as much different from dad's cars as 
possible... like a Leaf or Prius. :-)
