Tell that to the Greeks or other ethnic cultures who use different
meters and even mixed meters. Unsquare Dance is broken into 12 12 123
for 7/4. Some composers will do 1234 123.

This woman has read too much and listened to too many teachings.
She still thinks she is "doing" it although she claims to be "empty" and
without a S/self.

She calls herself ... Prajñaparmita.
This is a Buddhist sacred wisdom text, occasionally personified as a goddess in
East Asia.
Someone who calls names themself "Prajñaparamita" is either delusional or
scamming the ignorant.

Calling oneself Prajñaparamita" is the Eastern equivalent of calling oneself
Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom)
or maybe even "Holy Mary - Mother Of God".

So would Rick be interviewing someone called themselves "Holy Wisdom" or "Holy
Mary Mother of God".
If so then Rick has descended into interviewing the scammers or the
psychopathic.

This is why Traditional Indian Sampradaya-s and even the traditional Christian
Churchs (Catholic and Orthodox)
don't put up this bullshit.

And Yes ... I did listen to the interview.

Yeah, I've read that he came from Concord, but the last time I was in that town

I've tried playing Take Five on my saxophone with the band. But it's hard to

On a societal scale, the approach of restoring calm and quelling social
violence through the use of similar techniques by small embedded groups in
society has been extensively field tested—in the Middle East and throughout the
world. The consistent result has been marked reductions in terrorism, war, and
social violence in the affected populations. These findings have been
replicated in more than 50 studies, published in leading peer-reviewed
scientific journals, and endorsed by hundreds of leading scientists and
scholars. The efficacy of this approach is scientifically beyond question.

The initial experimental verification of this new approach took place during
the 1982 Lebanon war. A day-by-day study of an embedded group of peace-creating

war deaths dropped by 76% (p < 10-7 ). In addition, crime, traffic accidents,
fires, and other indicators of social stress all decreased significantly. Other
possible causes were statistically controlled for (Journal of Conflict

 • the level of conflict dropped by 48% (p < 10-8 )
 • cooperation among antagonists increased by 66% (p < 10-6 )

I think if they want to teach TM in schools or in prisons or to the men and

it seems dated to me. While I have no problem with the technique or anyone
practicing it, all the other hooplah seems like a money grab and borders on a
bunch of hooey. If the die hards sitting around moldering on Purusha or Mother
Divine want to continue to do so, all the power to them but this is for the
equivalent of the fanatics in TM, IMO. The fact that some of my former

quaint I'm pretty sure I couldn't manage it. That part seems all about

Fortunately, there is a better solution—an innovative, peaceful, proven
approach with a superior track record.

Economic sanctions and diplomatic pressure are ineffective against terrorism.
And military responses can further antagonize and enflame an already volatile
population, leading to retaliation and greater terrorism—the inevitable
consequence of attempting to create peace through violence. How, then, can such
dangerous and complex threats be resolved?

Square Dancing itself has really taken hold in meditating Fairfield as a
subset. Club square dancing in America generally has been in long decline but
what has happened is a marvel that square dancing has erupted [revived] more
recently in Fairfield as a vehicle of social interaction. The rote form seems
to appeal to the white collar demographic within the meditating community.

An aspect different here from larger [anonymous] urban America now is that
Fairfield, Iowa meditators are a recognizable community in their own way.
Meditators as a group have a communal demographic in a way that America is not
as communal as it may have been earlier in the 20th Century whence square
dancing was integral to rural social fabrics.

I think I remember why I was laughing so hard when we were doing this was
because I didn't know what I was doing (the friendly towns folk helped a lot)
and it moves really fast and you keep going the wrong way and then have to
reverse yourself and it all starts to resemble some Three Stooges blundering

try it sometime. It's also a pretty good workout.

Typical Dave Brubeck, a jazz innovator. But that's a tough beat to dance with.
But Earth, Wind and Fire in the 1970s created a different soul sound by using
6/4 time and 6/8 time. The sound is more understandable with a slow funk. But
it's difficult to play, especially when the musicians have to dance in unison
for a choreographed performance.

All this enthusiasm for dancing is putting me in quite a tizz. I do not dance.
II once took ballroom dancing lessons for about four months, but I found that
it took a long time for a message from my brain to reach my feet, by which time
the music had moved on. It didn't help either that I had a partner who from
time to time, as I was clumsily maneuvering her around the floor, would say,
"Feste, I'm bored." Wimmin!
