[FairfieldLife] Raising Net Neutrality from the Dead
Email to tom.whee...@fcc.gov supporting net neutrality by Sandy Dockendorff: I sent an email to the FCC chairman expressing my concern about losing net neutrality. I have to give him kudos for responding - though I am not naive enough to think he sent a personal response... or that he had anything to do with sending the response. I AM concerned that this means that there are very few people actually contacting the FCC about this issue. There is very little that is more sacred to a robust democratic society than the free exchange of ideas and information. In the US today, our broadcast and print news media is owned by a mere handful of people. This, in and of itself, is wrong. Please do not compound that error by giving another handful of people the means by which to stifle communications and creativity through control of the internet. Strong voices for good are not always well funded and those who need to hear words of encouragement and knowledge most are seldom those with the means to pay to find them. Public schools and libraries are underfunded in much of the country and these are the access points for many people who do not have any other means to access the internet. Putting content behind corporate pay-walls will further erode the ability of these institutions to meet the needs of those people. In rural areas where we continue to fight to provide even the most basic access to the internet, allowing corporate entities to provide faster access to those who can pay more means many of those who cannot pay more simply cannot access content at all. This is not a free market issue. Further, the FCC is not supposed to be an advocate for corporate entities, but for the people of our country. There is nothing good to be gained by taking this action. It will not increase jobs, it will not increase access to information so people might create their own jobs, it will not promote economic growth. All it will do is decrease access to internet content for a great deal of our population, decrease competition, siphon more money from the poorer to the richer, and one more foundation of our democratic society will have been demolished. How to bring net neutrality back from the dead by Cannonfire: Contact the Commissioners via E-mail Chairman Tom Wheeler: tom.whee...@fcc.gov Commissioner Mignon Clyburn: mignon.clyb...@fcc.gov Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel: jessica.rosenwor...@fcc.gov Commissioner Ajit Pai: ajit@fcc.gov Commissioner Michael O’Rielly: Mike.O’rie...@fcc.gov To call and contact commissioner’s offices, call 1-888-225-5322. In addition, call your elected representatives. Tell them if net neutrality is ended, you will hold them accountable by withholding your vote. Both parties hope to control the senate after the mid-term elections, so you have more power than usual to let them know they are losing your vote if they fail to take action to stop the FCC proposal. In a shocking revelation, as many as 163 Indians, most of them brought to the US as teenagers from villages in northern India to be trained into Vedic Pandits by two institutions set up by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi of transcendental meditation fame, appear to have gone missing over the last 12 months. Of the 1,050 young Indians brought to the Maharishi Vedic City and the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, 163 - some of them just 19 years old - have gone missing in the last one year, Hi India, a Chicago-based weekly newspaper for the Indian community, reported in its latest issue. [FairfieldLife] Gymnastics Videos
Fairfield's gymnastics team started their new season in November. There are two types of meets we will attend: 1. Gymnastics: Floor Exercise, Bars, Vault and Beam. 2. Trampoline and Tumbling: Trampoline, Double Mini and Rod Floor, which has a spring system underneath. Fairfield doesn't have a rod floor, there's no room for it until we get a dedicated gymnastics facility. In the meantime, the team practices tumbling using two-inch thick mats on a wooden floor. The kids get has zero bounce off the mat. They have to exert a lot of extra oomph. On the rod floor at meets they feel like they're flying. It's an exciting new event. Cheeto loves it. I've been uploading gymnastics videos directly to Facebook, Gymnastics Fans of Fairfield Iowa. In case you missed the videos or you're not on Facebook here are the YouTube links. [FairfieldLife] RE: Going out of my mind?
Judy Emily, thanks for watching. I got video images are from Google. The music is Adagio for Strings, one of JFK's favorite pieces, broadcast on the radio at the announcement of FDR's death and on TV at the announcement of JFK's death. It's also on the soundtrack for the movie Platoon. Jackie Kennedy arranged a concert the Monday after his death with the National Symphony Orchestra and they played to an empty hall. The concert went out on radio. In 2004, listeners of the BBC's Today program voted Adagio for Strings the saddest classical work ever. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adagio_for_Strings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adagio_for_Strings I teared up quite a bit while making the video. So much promise from a great man and such a terrible loss for our county. I truly believe had Kennedy lived we would not have seen the escalation of war and loss of life in Vietnam that we did with Johnson and Nixon. I remember the day of Kennedy's assassination I was a student at Wayne State University. I had been running indoor track and remember going outside and hearing church bells tolling. The other day, I asked Mom what she remembered. She said that it was the only time she ever saw Dad cry. He was the same age as Kennedy, both served during WWII in the South Pacific. A brother-in-arms is a powerful bond. The Funeral Bell by Henry David Thoreau One more is gone Out of the busy throng That tread these paths; The church-bell tolls, Its sad knell rolls To many hearths. Flower-bells toll not, Their echoes roll not Upon my ear; There still, perchance, That gentle spirit haunts A fragrant bier. Low lies the pall, Lowly the mourners all Their passage grope; No sable hue Mars the serene blue Of heaven's cope. In distant dell Faint sounds the funeral bell; A heavenly chime; Some poet there Weaves the light-burthened air Into sweet rhyme. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adagio_for_Strings ---In fairfieldlife@yahoogroups.com, authfriend@... wrote: I just watched it. It wouldn't have been that difficult, I suppose, to keep that story from getting out. Also not surprising that there were no general suspicions to that effect--the idea of its having been an accident caused by the Secret Service, of all people, is just too wildly unlikely to have occurred to anybody. Couple comments below; I do find some of this unconvincing. Salyavin wrote: Before last week I would have scoffed at any conspiracy surrounding Kennedy's death. There was Oswald's rifle, three spent cartridges and the usual objection that covering it up would have been a ludicrously complex undertaking with so many people to swear to silence that it would be a trillion times easier to poison Kennedy's breakfast or something. So I always put the conspiracy theories down to people's natural disbelief and need to make greater sense of a single pointless act. And then I saw the documentary on UK's Channel 5 about a cold-case investigator going over it. Normally I'd post the link so you can judge for yourselves but apparently they block UK catch-up TV from being seen abroad. So here is a summary: According to the autopsy, the bullet that hit Kennedy's head was 6mm wide. Oswald's rifle fired 6.5mm shells Oswald's bullets were of a type that wouldn't fragment on impact, unlike the head shot that did explode. Kennedy said I'm hit after Oswald's first shot that missed. But Kennedy [you mean Oswald] possibly only fired two shots as one of the shells found in the book store might have been a chamber round that snipers keep in a gun to protect the firing pin, whixh is why it was on the other side of the room to the others. Kennedy could have been hit by a ricochet from Oswald's first shot that missed. 10 people reported smelling gunpowder on the road which they wouldn't have done if Oswald was the only shooter. Did they volunteer this information, or were they asked? I would assume the same applies to nosewitness testimony as to eyewitness testimony--it tends to be unreliable, especially with regard to a chaotic situation. How many people reported not smelling gunpowder? One of the secret service guys following the presidents car is clearly visible holding a 6mm semi-auto rifle. The secret service stopped carrying these rifles the day after. One of the doctors at the autopsy was given hard bullet fragments by a SS man and told to put them inside the presidents head (he claims). Dubious. Where/when was this claim made? Did he make it under oath? Many key witnesses were not called to the Warren commission. There's more to the story but verdict was: Oswald fires two shots, the first ricochets into the presidents arm leading him to say I'm hit The second hit his neck and went through him into the senator (?) in the front seat. It was Governor Connally of Texas; and FWIW, he and Mrs. Connally were in the jump seat, not the front seat. The secret service guy following heard the shots and picked up his rifle, switching off the safety catch and accidentally fires the fatal shot into the presidents head. Forensic evidence shows that Oswald was in the wrong position to fire the fatal shot, unlike the SS guy whose position matched both entry and exit wounds on the presidents head. I like it as a theory because it explains all the anomalies and also why the secret service were so aggressive at the autopsy and why they moved Kennedy out of state in the first place. To control the cover up. But if the Secret Service was controlling the cover-up, how come they allowed the autopsy info about the 6mm vs 6.5mm bullets to come out? ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, noozguru@... wrote: A co-conspirator can't be named because Oswald appears to have been patsy so it wasn't a conspirator. He even said so himself. Why else would have Jack Ruby shot him other than to keep him quiet otherwise a trial might have shown he indeed was innocent? The spent shells might not have been the result of Oswald firing that junk rifle that had magical properties. Workers at the book depository said he was in the lunch room before and 75 seconds after the assassination. There was a lot at stake and money to be made with a war in Vietnam that

Who the hell cares what the polls say about bombing the hell out of Syria? That's supposed be somehow better than the people suffering at the hands of Assad or equally blood thirsty rebels? Obama certainly doesn't care about polls and neither did Bush concerning Iraq. Polls are a diversion just so you can impotently rant how awful war is while the war machine ramps up to do what it's hell-bent to do...kill people. So an important premise of the definition is that each of us human beings are created, vulnerable beings i.e are subject to be influenced by reality (or life or existence or God or whatever way you would like to objectify this energy which I have chosen to merely define it as a mysterious, dynamic, organic entity) Once an agreement is reached on the basic premise, the definition of religious delusional beliefs is very easy to be understood and why I choose to label Amma under the grip of a religious, delusional belief, hopelessly deceived and deluded. Amma - went through genuine mystical experiences but the villagers then enchanted by this woman, Amma in a mystical trance assumed Amma to be possessed by the Divine Mother. In line with centuries old superstitious beliefs of theirs, their objectification of the âmysterious, dynamic, organic entity. Here Amma, a woman who was much abused by her family, crude and uneducated fishergirl didn't know any better. Her father, who also enacted these myths of divine possession - of Krishna and Devi must have played along as well. Why not - this was part of their folklore, their beliefs. Thus started the myth of the Divine Mother which would fool humanity for a long time. Now you can see this from her autobiography - a tale of magic, mystery constructed out of the above narrative. I think the people around her conveniently fit her child abuse, her other stories into an incredulous narrative of 18th century woo-woo. And on the myth spread and now the PR team takes it one step further and elevates her to the status of a humanitarian - medals, awards - even a doctorate follows. Westerners burdened by their guilt for poor, for suffering, ridden by this existential angst, eager to unburden themselves, numb themselves from reality's puzzling, baffling, perplexing contradictions and complexities were quite willing to buy into this mystical, magical tale who a-la-Christ suffered for humanity's sins - this loving, embracing Saint. It's a wonder that she has fooled the public and press for this long - the majority anyway. So will reality play along with Ravi Chivukula's theory? Is Ravi - a mere instrument of reality in this unravelling of the myth of Amma? Amma - a mystically entranced Amma, an innocent village girl turned charlatan? Or is Ravi deluded and deceived himself? One of our illustrious contributors suggested that we might consider a *Best of FFL* going forward, and with that in mind I set myself the difficult task of picking my favorite subject for the week; it was a challenge (how could anyone best Share's attempt to prove she speaks in tongues), but a decision had to be made and I'm going with: Is Voldemort a hack? When I read Voldemort's posts I ask myself: Where's the art?. For someone with his considerable output on FFL, who puts so much effort into selling himself to us as a creative writer, art seems conspicuously absent from his contributions; this might be less true if you consider manual (or phonebook) writing a creative act. As he makes clear above, Voldemort is a writer of manuals, and, IMO, when he attempts anything more than that, the word hack pretty much nails what he becomes. For something to be considered art it's imperative that it have the ability to defamiliarize* by making the familiar, unfamiliar and *new*; Voldemort's posts completely fail at this. OTOH, Judy's choice of the word hack, to describe Voldemort, is a great example of effective defamiliarization---it gave me a new experience of something that was familiar about him. I also must agree with Judy that irony is the life blood of creative writing (writing phonebooks, not as much), and reading Voldemort's attempts at writing creatively ---when he is so handicapped in the irony department (narcissism will do that), is like watching someone with no hands attempt to show off his penmanship (no My left foot jokes please). He also appears to be unable to go beyond cliche and what Martin Amis calls heard words, which make his offerings, on this forum at least, quite artless. Anyone who considers Voldemort a creative writer might consider rereading Hemingway (if you are interested in understanding some of Kerouac's limitations, who Voldemort attempts to emulate---without demonstrating any of Kerouac's talent as an artist). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abc819rT6wI The film The Master was an example for me of the way art can make the familiar *new*; the whole film delivered artistically, but the scene where Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman) Processes Freddie Quell (Joaquin Phoenix)---for the first time, felt in some way like the first time I meditated; my experience of the scene was familiar and at the same time completely new; part of it was the suggestiveness of Dodd's voice, but more was the scene's transition from Dodd's voice to Quell *living* a previous experience as if for the first time, and the familiarity it had to my first meditation and the first superlative clarity of the thought (engram or, if you will, un-stressing) that reported or noticed an artifact of my awareness that had just existed without thinking. The art of the writing, acting, and editing were part of it, but I believe it was the cinematography, with its use of 70mm film (which is rare today), that more than anything else was essential to making the experience possible for me. Another component of the film that worked the same way for me was Joaquin Phoenix's characterization of Freddie Quell, which allowed me to experience---as if for the first time---character types that I met as a child who were friends of my father that had served with him in WW2; JP's characterization of Quell had the same effect on me as a number of characters Jim Thompson (writer of The Getaway and The Grifters) created that felt as new, when I read about them in his novels, but reminded me of some psychopathic cowboy's my father socialized with. I wouldn't disagree that Voldemort's posts are full of conflict (more than one detective has found creative uses for the Yellow Pages, when interviewing a suspect)---and

I was rude and harsh - on purpose, because the nature of religious delusional beliefs are such, they are very deep rooted, people have so much emotional, psychological investment in it and I cannot leave them unchallenged. I am known to be abusive, but not in this case since as you say Rory is a sweet and gentle soul. But there weren't but sweet and gentle souls around Amma and many on this list as well and I had to be harsh and rude. Of course I am not rude and harsh to everyone - if it's a friend I'm still going to challenge gently and firmly (of course I don't call their beliefs delusional but in my mind I do) and I have challenged however hard and uncomfortable it is to me. Trust me I don't particularly enjoy it. In this case Rory is not particularly a close friend and I preferred to chose the rude, harsh way. The only person I have given a free pass is a 64 year old Jewish gentleman named David around Amma, I met him after my mystical experiences in 2009 - I very much got attracted to David-ji. I consider him as a father figure and he was in charge of cleaning Amma's temple and I helped him and used to obey him unconditionally, first time in my life following the orders of a man in my personal life. So he may talk about Amma as Divine Mother and I give it as pass though I may address it in a roundabout way. I told him I attacked Amma online and he just laughed because he knows me and has seen me as the mad, crazy yogi, an iconoclast who challenges people, mocks people beliefs, push people's buttons. This challenge comes up even as I deal with family members - my dharma, responsibility to love, support them as a son, as a brother, relative vs my need to challenge people's delusional beliefs - it's not easy, I have to assess moment to moment. So there I hope this explains that somehow. Even if you were to come tomorrow come up with a narrative for spiritual experiences, a philosophy I will challenge it Ann even though I like you very much, but obviously gently and firmly. Same applies to any other friend of mine, I am not going to let any religious delusional belief go unchallenged. I don't, but I have other issues - it's not too late to address the self-hate you feel Share. You must be queen bee Share and go after all the women here but yet, you let your king bee off the hook. Do you hate women Share? Look at the behavior of your bedfellow Share. Look how he treated you after the months you've spent suckling him? Does it even occur to you that *you* need to take a look at what it is inside *yourself* that draws you to this man? Take a day off - meditate - do some introspection - evaluate the complete disregard you have for yourself in how you conduct yourself. Give your poor tired, frantic brain a rest. Take a bath. Be kind to yourself. Write with purpose. Write full sentences. I care Share, but your relentless pain and demands of everyone is exhausting to participate in. TM Good. Marshy Bad. Got it. Thanks. --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, Michael Jackson mjackson74@... wrote: For purposes of clarity, I am making this post. I have said these things before about my experience of meditation, but I think they got ignored due to the fact that I have raised my middle finger to the Movement and its founder many times. I didn't stop doing TM because of disappointment or anger. Here is the background experience and reason I stopped meditating. I started TM in 1974, wide eyed and full of hope. I received instruction in the TM Sidhi Program over a period of time, doing six weeks of Sidhi Prep Courses, taking the first 2 week block of Sidhi Program instruction at Livingston Manor in I forget what year. Then a while later, took the new format of the Center Invincibility Course, six weekends in Atlanta, GA followed by a two week Flying Block stint, plus a ten day extension in beautiful Fairfield Iowa. I believe this was CIC #13, held the year after the Old Fraud held a big course in India and all the initiators, Governors, Executive Governors and Ministers of the Age of Enlightenment who were anybody or wanted to git some real shore 'nuff good darshan in the home of darshan went to the course so there was no CIC the year before. I continued to TM meditate after leaving MIU in 1987 and was pretty regular until I began Primordial Sound Meditation in 1996. So 22 years of TM, then a few years of mostly PSM. After that I stopped meditating for the most part. The reason I stopped was that I had come to feel the energy of the Absolute or Pure Awareness or whatever you want to call it all the time during the day from head to toe, and all around my body in an area of a few feet. Most everything I looked at seemed to radiate that same energy to me as well. There didn't seem to be any point in TM or PSM. When I did do it, the mantra seemed to take me to a real surfacy place in my awareness and if I just closed my eyes and got totally quiet, the bliss would be so strong I thought I would bust sometimes from the experience. I would lose that feeling in activity to some extent, but a few seconds of closing my eyes would bring it back. TM and PSM were useful for 2 or 3 minutes if I had some fatigue or if I had chopped a tree limb, or swung a sling blade and the muscles where feeling a bit stressed. A few minutes of meditation would release that stress from the muscles, then any further use of the mantra would just be like mental masturbation - stop the mantra and go into Infinite Silence and Bliss. That experience of Pure Awareness in activity had faded for a while but has recently come back. So I didn't stop TM out of anger or any other emotion. It and all the other spiritual things I had dabbled with had done their job. Now I had also had my fill of the Movement and its shenanigans beginning really in the early 1990's with the Heavenly Mountain debacle and I just put TM and the Movement out of my mind except on the occasions I would talk to someone who was still into the Movement. It was only after coming to FFL and gaining so many revelations about marshy and the Movement that I experienced the emotions I have expressed here previously. So that's my story.

The longer I live, the more I love this place, too. The reason I commented on Nabby's supposed Maharishisez was that it seemed atypical to *me*, too. If horrible was his assessment of the world around him, he didn't reveal that all that often, preferring platitudes instead. The England is a scorpion nation comments were fewer and farther between than the All this is that and Even that is perfect as it is platitudes. For those who are looking for that, and not its opposite, that is. That's what I've gotten so far in this lifetime and I give Maharishi a huge amount of credit for that. Cool. I cannot help but believe that your takeaway on what he taught and the influence it had on your life might be a little more balanced than the people -- one of them claiming to be enlightened --who are trying to make a case for the world and some of its FFL denizens that *they* see around them being horrible. It had a bent crankshaft, so leaked oil like a sieve and backfired due to feeding FORD (fix-or-repair-daily) a weekly pint of Motor Medic, a motor oil supplement that sealed leaks. The goo was thick as honey but wasn't FORD's cause of death. My brother borrowed the car and totaled it but didn't hit a thing. How is that possible, one might ask? Applying the breaks and stopping the forward momentum of the car caused the fan to rub against the radiator...ergo, metal on metal squealing. It was a disaster waiting to happen. When the bro slammed on the brakes to avoid an accident, the bolts on the engine block came completely loose and the engine flew through the radiator. FORD committed suicide. The bankruptcy is payment for the sins of the past - but this purgatory should lead Detroit on a path to success. There's no reason that Detroit can't mirror what North Carolina's Research Triangle did in the '90s and '00s. And considering how much Detroit has made America look at herself over its history - I think we should all be rooting for the Motor City to rocket forward from here. Amen.

The Spirit of Detroit aka The Jolly Green Giant is a massive bronze statue of a seated man holding a sphere in one hand and a family group in the other. It's located downtown by the City-County Building at the base of Woodward Avenue, One night around St. Patrick's Day the green guy paid a visit across Woodward to a sculpture of a nude ballet dancer, Giacomo Manzu's Dance Step sculpture. Tim Geitner? That bastard Hank Paulson? Think they would do a more ethical job if they were printing the money instead of borrowing it? Getting more money into the hands of more people stimulates the economy. Paul Krugman has written extensively on this topic. The one per centers aren't using their money to create jobs. That's too much like work. Fancy financial instruments and fewer or unenforced financial regulations incentivizes playing and manipulating markets rather than creating jobs. Lest we forget, Detroit got swindled by Wall Street because the world's biggest banks manipulated interest rates (see link below). Detroit's bankruptcy court decisions will be up to one unelected official, Kevyn Orr, the city's emergency manager, appointed by Gov Rick Snyder under the financial martial law he signed 2011. Since then, Detroit's city contracts and public properties have been subject to Orr's sole discretion. He sold off large chunks of public property, attempted to sell off Detroit's art collection (the state Attorney General stopped him), slashed public services, ambulance services, and repairs to infrastructure, streetlights, sewers, roads, schools. Bottom line, a city with fewer jobs and a dwindling population means less tax revenue to manage the city. Since Orr's cuts to services and sale of property aren't enough to balance the books, Orr will have an even freer hand to reneg on pension promises to city retirees. The problem is, what part of Trayvon's behavior is defensible? The part that thought he was beating up a gay man stalking him or the part that thought he was beating up a white man that was *profiling* him. Empathy for a tragic loss of life is one thing but ignoring the facts is quite another and there was absolutely no justification for Trayvon's attack on Zimmerman. By the way, had you watched Anderson Cooper's interview with one of the jurors just before Pierce Morgan's program, you would have learned that one reason Zimmerman was suspicious of Trayvon was not simply because Trayvon was black, walking slowly in the rain, wearing a hoodie but that he was cutting through yards, close to houses and looking in windows as he walked by. This would be suspicious activity to anybody, epically if there had been as many burglaries as had been reported in that neighborhood.  Matthew Shepard was profiled and murdered by homophobes because he was gay. There the notion that Trayvon was a homophobe profiling Zimmerman because he thought he was gay is ridiculous. Bottom line, Zimmerman profiled and followed Trayvon because he was black. If Zimmerman hadn't followed Trayvon and didn't have a gun, Trayvon Martin wouldn't be dead. Don't be so sure you know what happened, Mike. From: Emily Reyn emilymae.reyn@... Warren points out that New Deal banking regulation created fifty years of uneventful banking in this country, compared to the preceding long history of boom and bust. I checked out the back story on Continental. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_Illinois What went wrong is simple. The bank got greedy and made large investments in energy at a time of falling oil prices. Executive John Lytle received kickbacks when he arranged for the bank to hand out massive, iffy loans to energy concerns. When the financial crisis of 1984 hit, Continental was the first bank deemed too big to fail. Uncle Sam owned the bank for the next ten years, until it was sold to Bank of America. Such a move would now be deemed socialism. I guess that makes Ronald Reagan a socialist. By the way, John Lytle went to jail. That's another difference between then and now. The Lytle conviction underlines an important truth: Continental's failure was not due to regulation. The failure occurred because regulations were broken.

http://youtu.be/EI4mutjhwJI --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, turquoiseb no_reply@... wrote: One of my good friends in Santa Fe was a psychiatrist who had, over the course of his career, treated many individuals suffering from Naricissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). When I met him, he had already given up on psychiatric treatment, having been convinced over the course of 20+ years that the condition was untreatable. But knowing of my interest in the subject (caused by having studied with at least two NPD spiritual teachers), he was willing to talk with me about his experiences back when he *was* treating NPD, and some of the conclusions he had drawn from those experiences. One of these conclusions seems relevant to recent events on FFL, so I'll rap about it a little. The symptom he spoke of as the #1 tip-off that he was dealing with someone with NPD was what he called blame displacement. To explain a bit, NPD sufferers live in an illusory/delusory world inside their own heads; they rarely, if ever, interact with reality as it is seen by other people. Subjectivity rules for the NPD individual, and they tend to sincerely believe that how they see the world *equates* to how the world is. So it is often a SHOCK to them when someone calls them on their own antisocial or unethical behavior. According to my friend the shrink, their *first* impulse at that point is to DENY it. They cannot accept that the view of them being proposed by this other person could be correct, because it contradicts their own internal, subjective view of themselves. Their *second* impulse is to attempt to SHIFT THE BLAME for these contradictory views of themselves. They call the person criticizing them or their behavior liars, and furthermore (and this is the tip-off) claim that the critic *does not even believe what they are saying*, and that they are *consciously* lying about them in an attempt to get them. Now think back to recent discussions about what Robin did when Vaj pointed out that Robin had struck his students. First he DENIED it vociferously, lying through his teeth the whole time. But second, he attempted to SHIFT THE BLAME, and portray Vaj as the Bad Guy In This Scenario, claiming that *he* was lying, and claiming furthermore than Vaj even knew that he was lying. Classic NPD behavior. Next, think about Judy Stein, and her well-established patterns on this forum. When faced with a critic -- someone who calls her on her behavior in a way that contradicts her internal view of who she is and what she's doing -- her first impulse is to DENY the behavior. But her second is *almost always* to attempt to SHIFT THE BLAME and claim that the critic is not only lying, but *consciously* lying, and doesn't really believe the thing he or she is saying about her. Again, classic NPD behavior. We really DO believe the things we say about you, Judy. Your inability to comprehend or accept this is based on your own disability -- Narcissistic Peronsality Disorder -- not on some superior insight or intuition or seeing. You cannot accept that we *really* see you this way because it so strongly contradicts your view of yourself. This is called Narcissism. *Six and a half years* after you made your Mel Gibson, Christian bigot post, you *still* cannot bring yourself to say, OK, I did it. I commented on a film I'd never seen. You *still* have to equivocate, and pretend not only that it never happened, but that Barry is lying about it happening. It happened. The proof is here (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/message/126122 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/message/126122 ), and it's incontrovertible. How do you explain your inability to admit it *except* as an indicator of Narcissistic Personality Disorder? We'll wait...

Here, in an opinion piece for the Washington Post, he gets serious for once. At least as serious as he gets: George Takei voted for Bill Clinton who signed into law the DOMA. Although that was only 17 years ago, it was a very different time. In no state in the union was same-sex marriage recognized, much less available as a legal right, but some were moving in that direction. Washington, as a result, was swirling with all manner of possible responses, some quite draconian. As a bipartisan group of former senators stated in their March 1 amicus brief to the Supreme Court, many supporters of the bill known as DOMA believed that its passage would defuse a movement to enact a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, which would have ended the debate for a generation or more. It was under these circumstances that DOMA came to my desk, opposed by only 81 of the 535 members of Congress. On March 27, DOMA will come before the Supreme Court, and the justices must decide whether it is consistent with the principles of a nation that honors freedom, equality and justice above all, and is therefore constitutional. As the president who signed the act into law, I have come to believe that DOMA is contrary to those principles and, in fact, incompatible with our Constitution. http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-03-07/opinions/37528448_1_doma-defense-of-marriage-act-marriage-equality
[FairfieldLife] Wendy Davis TX Filibuster
A Texas senator, Wendy Davis, has launched a marathon filibuster of an abortion bill that would severely restrict abortion access in the state. If she is to be successful, Davis must talk for 13 hours, during which she will not be allowed to sit, lean or take any breaks to go to the bathroom or eat. She is only allowed to stop speaking when listening to questions. With less than two hours to go before the midnight deadline, the senate public gallery has filled up. A third point of order has been sustained against Davis, which means that the filibuster would be struck down. Jeers of outrage and chants of let her speak filled the senate as it was announced the third point of order was sustained. Democrat senators have raised a number of questions over the process in an apparent attempt to delay the vote on whether to end the filibuster. People the world over are watching with intrigue. Around 50,000 people were watching the live stream on YouTube, however a number of news sites and US TV station C-Span also broadcast. Hundreds of activists are reportedly in Austin to see through Davis' final hours. Local media reports a line to get into the chambers stretched three floors. I would have been beside myself to have been able to do that as a 9 year old. Fun music. If you don't want to write a book Raunchy, you should make a film. Juliette just finished reading and loved The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary based on the film Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The book includes film stills, storyboards, concept drawings, and behind the scenes filmmaking. Maybe she will be in the movie business as a screenwriter someday and I would be just as happy for her as if I'd done it myself. She has written several delightful short stories that are very advanced for a 3rd grader. She has many talents. You never know what's going to stick with a kid when they grow up. I just hope she has a happy life. Hey, I just realized that I started making YouTube videos end of Venus (art, music) and beginning of Sun (Soul, power) Mahadashas.. Both planets are in 5th House (creativity, passion, pleasures). Maybe there's something to Jyotish after all. I'll never make a nickel off YouTube and except for friends and family no one is interested in seeing my videos. The process of recording and editing videos has been a lot of fun and for now that's good enough for me.

I am sharing your video with a couple of friends who dive. :) Fish move by in a flash. The trick to getting a good look at them is to edit some of the video clips in slow motion, repeat clips or take snapshots of the action. Windows Live Movie Maker is an easy to use video editor that let's you take snapshots. I get music from Melodyloops online. Thanks for sending a video link to your friends. If they make a movie and put it on YouTube, let me know, I'd love to see it. --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, raunchydog raunchydog@ wrote: Every vacation in Jamaica for the past seven years has been a brand new adventure for nine year-old Juliette.
