confused with Judy so for a while we teamed up and had a good time bombing
FFLife with scrappy post defending ourselves against the regular onslaught of
Kool Aid intoxicated Obots. It was fun and exhilarating to get my creative
juices flowing and find out I could stick up for myself quite deliciously. I
haven't posted much lately. I guess I gradually I grew weary of the SOS.

Judy has a lot more fortitude, intellectual acuity and staying power for it all
than I do. I cheer her on even if she calls me out for saying stupid stuff from
time to time. I take no offense. I find her criticism honest and instructive.
It isn't any surprise that more women don't post on FFLife considering for all
the bashing you can get around here just for saying you like Hillary Clinton or
god forbid, admitting you're a feminist.

There's something deep in the psyche of more than a few men that the mere
mention of Vagina Dentata frightens the hell out of them as if a powerful
female specter is about to swoop down and bite off their dicks. Judy and I had
some fun shaking VD in Barry's face for awhile just to push his buttons.

I decided from the get go that FFLife wasn't a place for wimps. FFLife has it's
own peculiar history of players that makes is an weirdly entertaining place to
be. I enjoy reading many of the talented writers who post here. I'm including
you in that, Edg. I miss you.

I looked up a few of my very early posts on FFLife. I came out swinging right
from the start. I don't think the feistiness in my writing will change if
someone decides to be an asshole and I take them on. I'm just that I'm less
attached to it nowadays. Ravi was an exception that drew me out of my minimal

What? Really try to write something that can possibly be as funny and wise as

Sorry, for me, it's a hump I cannot easily over top.

The rats here make it so hard to want to shine like no one's looking. Rick's

their wings, but n, we get all dressed up in our tutus and there's

You'd think that a movement that's been culturing its adherents for 50 years
would have discovered -- by dint of just messing around long enough -- how to
village-raise their own to be civil in their dealings with those who have not
drunk their look into the white lighting Kool-Aid.

Sit with a saint. Lose your dome badge. Be an open lover of killing anyone

Maharishi was a racist of the first order, right? Clever him, he got the

What was I thinking? I mean, right there in the first lecture, the guy giving

I haven't seen the film. But, yeah, the brainwashing at MSAE was there, but

philosophy -- regularly, daily. I wasn't allowing any movement creep to abuse
them for not being sycophants. We'd talk about how those who are not yet

It was only after decades that it became impossible to spin the fact that all

Steve,

I wasn't targeting you. If you want to think you're always honest and true to

Actually, I didn't communicate all that well, cuz I was pointing to the fact
that everyone has invested in the ego -- the primal mask. The Universal Spirit
insists it is to be considered a mere and horribly limited individual. As if.
That Mother Divinesuch a kidder and always wanting to throw another
masquerade ball.

I think that if certain FFL folks have a right to get all upset and make rules
about the level of abusiveness that's allowed here, then those someones
better explain the logic used to determine that a crass sexual-blurb put-down
is far more serious, as an issue, than that of a war-monger openly espousing
the murder of most of the world's people.

Oh, geeze, someone was told to suck a cock, and it came off as homophobic and
so un-PC.

Can't have homophobia here at FFL, cuz we'z gots us a good guy moderator who's
gay, and it wouldn't do to upset him what with his hard-wired sensibilities.
And I would agree, but...

But, whoa, I'm here with MY hard-wired sensibilities. See? I have this utter
revulsion for even the concept genocide. And yet, Rick is just fine letting
someone espouse this kind of evil here.

Don't I get to be upset and make rules against anyone harming my peace of mind?
Don't I get to complain about my heart being constantly be tasered by the
hatred that we see brandished so often here?

It's not censorship that's wanted by me, but instead I want a pleasant place
where there's lots of pleasant conversations with pleasant people. To allow
such an obvious troll with such a bitter racist hatred to come here and piss on
everyone every day in every way possible that his psychosis can come up with is
an issue that Rick has not addressed.

What? A homosexual slur's triggering of negativity in someone's nervous system
is some sort of extra specialsooperdooper really bad emotion to have to
process, but my emotional disgust is small potatoes, and I don't feel as deeply
as others do?

What?

Feste,

You forgot to list my son's winning of the Iowa State Golf championship, and
the golf team's championship win the next year.

Don't think for a moment that MSAE's great results, and I admit, they're great
are from them being meditators.

The mundane explanation is better: when we were told to come to FF to save the
world from nuclear war, who came? Only those who were already successful
enough in real life to have the money to take the risk of moving to FF. The
population in FF is heavily skewed thereby and of course the children of those
folks would be expected to be smarter, healthier, better home life, etc.

My son's golf success came from him practicing far more than any other person
in the state. For HOURS he'd stand in one spot and just do his moves in very
slow motion. He golfed in the snow, in the dark, in the rain. He put in the
time, he paid the dues, but the other kids from the other schools' golf teams
out there had their highly motivated kids also who gave my son a strong
challengeand they didn't have any magic mantras helping their golf game.

If you doubt this, go ahead and try to learn golf and break par in six months
flat like he did at the age of 14. Experiment and get back to us. See if you
too have to put in 10,000 hours to reach excellence, or if you can do this in
half the time by meditating more. I'll wait.

Same deal with all the MSAE results -- heavily skewed by dint of starting with
a bunch of kids that had been pre-filtered.

site about its recent achievements (2010-11 only). I think your son did
brilliantly at golf. Who could deny it? Certainly not me.

 Feste,

You forgot to list my son's winning of the Iowa State Golf championship, and
the golf team's championship win the next year.

Don't think for a moment that MSAE's great results, and I admit, they're
great are from them being meditators.

The mundane explanation is better: when we were told to come to FF to save
the world from nuclear war, who came? Only those who were already successful
enough in real life to have the money to take the risk of moving to FF. The
population in FF is heavily skewed thereby and of course the children of
those folks would be expected to be smarter, healthier, better home life,
 etc.

See if
you too have to put in 10,000 hours to reach excellence, or if you can do
this in half the time by meditating more. I'll wait.

Same deal with all the MSAE results -- heavily skewed by dint of starting
with a bunch of kids that had been pre-filtered.

Ed, I'd say that what you are recommending is censorship, and I don't
think Rick does censorship, nor does the society in general. But what
you may have missed is that communities have standards of decency, which
